unlabelledView post →Sorry for the delay, but we're playing more Pokémon White 2 Randomizer on stream! Been a lil bit so I kinda forgot where I was but we have a Shell Smash Camerupt now so whatever the game throws at us ain't shit, hop on if you're Sacred Fire enough www.twitch.tv/bigyellowyt
unlabelledView post →Just when i began to forget what a true RPG is, i suddenly find this game. It gives a completely unique view on interactions between characters, because the main feature of the game is that among your usual "strength" or "intellect" points, they have their own feelings, ambitions, emotional traumas and grudges towards each other, represented via personal attributes. Your every interaction throughout the game is based on your past decisions and attitude towards every character you've ever met.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My only complaint is that the developer doesn't have boatloads of cash laying around that he can hire other people for to do more for this game and make more like it. Being a solo dev is hard work and this is very well-done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games by far - choices feel real (each action has several choices and really lets you customize your character personality) Is your character a fighter? a thinker? a talker? a runner? none of those? all of those? This game can fine-tune a run amazingly Your choices also increase/decrease your stats, so you can start of one way and end up another (eg: being cynical but over time being more hopeful, being religious but lose your beliefs over many hardships, etc) - adjustable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some really interesting mechanics here and the story is intriguing, but I can't see myself playing it again without some fundamental changes. Every scene is treated with the same heavy-handed reverence and multiple skill checks and dice rolls, regardless of whether you're talking to a 10-year-old or fighting for your life. There's no clear way to tell which checks actually matter and which are filler so you end up wasting points on nothing-rolls and failing the important ones because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not bad, definitely different but does ever thing need to be a test? holy cow, every sentence you have to do some test .If you think your good at 80%, nope game will roll 90%, even on things your good at. Do you stick your head up to look? Do you ask some one a personal question? One test is do you pick up a arrow, i failed at 80%, the game rolled 92%,, i cant even pick up a arrow, In other words, theres way to many test. another thing, Im good with the bow, Why do i start out on a test…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These days, it is difficult to find a good visual novel game that isn't porn. Sacred Fire gives you an excellent story where choices really matter. Only downside is that they made me wait for the release for ages.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can choose to negatively impact your view of others around you, friend or foe, for no cost - but it requires exp points to shape a positive, more empathetic perspective, and that is only one example of how much attention to detail the devs paid to the design of this game. it is much easier to defer to spite, defensiveness and bitterness than it is to make an honest effort to understand and empathize with another - especially when conflict is present between them. i love it, as it feels very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently learned this is all by a solo dev, which is amazing for how much has been put into it. worth playing to watch all the intricate narrative structure unfurl and re-bind itself in front of you, and for the clever mechanics it runs off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique game. A story game where success is tied to managing your character's emotions as well as successfully reading the emotions/needs of the characters you interact with so you can respond appropriately. So in addition to Strength and Speed, you have stats that govern your tendency towards letting anger or fear dominate your thinking. Interesting tradeoffs in those stats too. Rationality increases your ability to find facts but also your desire to find something or someone to blame for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, so this is early access so there are a lot of aspects that could use some tweaking, but there is a lot to love about how this game plays. I don't know if there is anything out there that has similar gameplay, but it's a first find for me. By nature, choose your own adventure games can only have so many options. But I've already played through the two available chapters twice with slightly different builds. And I could see myself going through a couple more times to explore story options I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As long as I can carry over my save; it's peak and i cannot wait for Act 3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played the full story yet, but let me tell you - this is the "your choices matter" game that you've always been looking for but could never find. I'm thrilled the developer is taking their time in finalization, and looking forward to the release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This unique game takes "choices matter" and a great story to whole new levels and lets you truly mold it all through those choices. There are constant, real choices (many gated behind stats) that build and develop your character stats, personality and relationships. You can shape the MC into a hero or a coward, a self centered blood thirsty killer or an empathetic pacifist looking for peace and romance. Your choices and failure/success in them have a big impact to the story and narrative…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing and unique, can't wait to play the whole story when finished.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow. This game achieved what a lot of visual novels can't. Giving you a sense of agency and decision over the story while feeling challenging in a way that moves the story forward. I've seen 3 "endings" (the final act is not out yet) and I'm hooked. :) I can't wait to see the rest and start new playthroughs. I love how the game gives you tools to tell it what your character wants and feels towards NPCs so that the story weaves itself accordingly. Incredibly smart narrative design and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game. First played the free demo and then had to download the full game :-). Also finished it all in one session. The flow of the skill checks in combat is amazing, it's so fluid and together with the music it makes you feel in control, swift and elegant (my character at least). The only question I have is about the character customization - No different colors of eyes or hair or skin? Or maybe I missed how to find that. The people on the game have brown hair :-). Really looking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once we get a full story/full game, it will be great. What is done, nicely done so far yet.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this is being made by 1 person and shes done a fantastic job on the 2 acts we have so far. I never been moved as much as this story and the characters in the game, well apart from the last of us .the first game. From the story to the sound and visuals its done superb for one person team. I was gonna wait to play this until it was finished but i wanted a taste and i angry that its finished ..for now as i just want the story to continue. I can't wait to try act 3 ! And to the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really beautifully done game, with intriguing mechanics, and a very well-done and elegant story line. The only problem is that the game is incomplete; I played to the end of Act 2, reaching an intriguing climax, and then was told "wait for the final conclusion coming soon." Most of the story had yet to unfold (intriguing strangers, and a late introduction of a royal family.) Once they actually complete the game, I think it will be terrific. But I would say wait.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Find it easy to relax and immerse in the story, when I feel burned out from work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had a 98% success rate of dodging. Rolled a 99 into Failure Took an arrow in my chest and died instantly 10/10 realism.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a very detailed and intricate digital implementation of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" style of books that were popular in my childhood. I've played through the available content, Acts 1 and 2, and the story is engaging with memorable characters. I am excited to see what the finished game holds in store.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The constant camera changes are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Appealing game in an interesting setting but it's really short as it is. Early Access currently means that 2 out of 3 story acts are finished and playable. After the second act I'm under the impression of having gotten to the point where the story only just begins to unfold. Since I highly doubt that the third act will be significantly longer than the first two, I can't help but feel like witnessing a waste of potential.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I fell in love with game, each chapter gets better and better, It starts off strong and just continue to impress you! (Chapter 1 is roughly shorter then all the other chapters so I don't feel bad saying it's also the worst chapter, it is more of a tutorial chapter, but chapter 2 REALLY picks things up!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4.5 hrs in and completed what part of the game that is currently built. This is one of those games that comes a long every now and then that is truly unique and special. Beautiful art, engaging story, challenging game play. All anyone wants from an immersive story like this one. Highly recommended in current state. Full release will be even better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a really good experience. 10/10 pacing 10/10 music 10/10 plot 10/10 everything else I'll say the only thing bad about playing this game is that when its over there nothing I can find that like it. I love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm completely owning my playthrough here. I like the outcomes, that I was able to get (even the ones, I don't like) and would actually try to go for the same goals again and again, rather than try out different routes. Awesome, awesome game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The potential of this game is astounding. I am excited to continue playing and I am very glad I decided to give it a chance and invest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very captivating story, had me hooked instantly. I want more. +beautiful music + great story + choices that matter a lot + high replay value + feels very realistic with the emotions
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More than ten years in development and all you've got is static cinematics, quiet reading, almost no personalization for the character and the game is not even finished. Where are your work ethics?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished Act 2 and honestly, this feels like AAA-quality storytelling. It’s the first visual novel RPG I’ve played that’s this interactive and engaging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique and beautiful game, a handcrafted experience where you can feel the love and effort that went into it. If you're looking for an RPG with a focus on role playing this is it. While there are _some_ similarities to other games like the Telltale games, the narrative complexity of this game is astounding, the sheer number of choices and outcomes that dictate other choices and other outcomes overwhelms other games I've played that are even somewhat similar. To top it off the art style and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hope more games like this will be made in the future. There is a real value beyond entertainment. Besides the story (I won't do spoilers) and choices that really seem to matter, the game mechanics are really something else that I've never see anywhere else in video games. About that, I'd only say: if you're that curious, playing this game might help you know yourself better, and realize how and why your real life can be driven by forces you're probably not fully aware of... And that the way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr: would I recommend this game now, as it is? yes, yes I would. Before I start to give a more in-depth review, I wanted to get the most important point out of the way, especially if you (the reader) is similarly cautious of price tags and is considering whether to get the game right now, on sale. I'd say it is totally worth it, even for the actual asking price - there is so much choice already, so many options to shape the narrative in a way you like, and I imagine the replayability…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game and would recommend anyone to buy it. The choices feel real and impact-full, failure mostly adds to story and doesn't feel like a punishment. If you love role-playing with with solid decisions and high risks you need this game. Only thing I think could use some tweaking is resolve/energy whatever in the entrance chapter of the game. You have roughly 10 to 11 movement/energy at this point of the game. 100 energy = 1 MP. There are sequences that you go through that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend Sacred Fire enough. Making positive changes in ourselves in pursuit of order, or channeling the chaos in our lives in a positive way, is the key to success in this game, as it is in life. The writing is very powerful and robust, with many branches and ways of approaching the story. If you like choice and consequence games and visual novels, this is the masterpiece you've been wanting. In short, the best way I can describe Sacred Fire is this: Imagine an experienced,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very engaging story line. I enjoy the multiple lines of choice available. It is something between reading a novel and playing a game. I am only playing the demo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A unique roleplaying game! Choices and priorities really do matter. You can romance if you want or live an aromantic asexual dream. You can be an antisocial lone wolf or friends with anyone. You can save everyone or let everyone die.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played this game many times since it came out. They are headed in the right direction for an epic tale. This game is so involving it captures you from the start. Plus the voice actor hired as your brother is non other than Doug Cockle. How epic is that. Great job to the four of you for your hard work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this, but everything (from the bizarre AI-generated character art to the fact that it's not actually a full game to the blandly American voice acting) stands in the way of my approval. Maybe it'll be improved when they finally finish it?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very well written, the art is beautiful, the pacing is great. Awesome game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very nice story, and very emotional, the game is not finished yet. can't wait untill the whole story unfolds. you gonna love it if you like visual novels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy following this story, and It adds a degree of difficulty I have not seen for most VNs or VN like games. So far I enjoy the story and even the time between updates, really a great game for anyone interested in playing a unique story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story-rich and captivating, truly build your own character through their experiences and emotions. You get to choose how your character would truly act in given situations, based on their history and character.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played the demo I chose to buy this game. At the start it was still fun despite it being immediately apparent that the writing wasn't of the best quality. As time went on though, the feeling of player agency really decreased. Choices often meant unexpected things or were surrounded by context that wasn't clear. Towards the end of the second chapter it started throwing a bunch of cliches at me in an attempt to elicit an emotional reaction but in the end just disengaged me. The turn-based…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game! Just finished Act II of III. Looking forward to Act III when it releases. Also for anyone wondering it plays flawlessly on the Steam Deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this game were longer. with more fighting it would be in my top 5 videos games. I love this game. but I want moar... and unfortunately it isn't long enough for me. Still a great game though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good little story. (In the current state only up to ACT2) A game where choices actually matter. Characters can be killed off and the decisions and influences they may have in the latter parts of the story go right along with them. I haven't noticed if they are replaced with generic "fill-ins" to help direct their absence but so far, it doesn't. If they die, they die and the story just continues on without them. While there are really only a handful of characters that seem to be able to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Innovative, interesting, exciting... I'm amazed on how easily they make you live the story, without cinematics nor walls of text. I recommend hidding the exact results of the decisions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →such a good story and game hope you make more games like this also cant wait for act 3 please hurry up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5. My favorite legendary is Ho-oh. I love it's phoenix-theme and involvement in the story of Gen 2. Plus, when I originally played Silver, it had that same terrifying epicness of Mewtwo since it's your end-of-the-game legendary at Level 70! Also, Sacred Fire rules.
unlabelledView post →The game's over so fast, another act wouldn't change that and it's not worth this much money for such a short and small game. The small game is nice and interesting but still way too short, early access or no. I advice hands off!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily 10/10 without any doubt. If this is Early Access, I can't wait for the full product. I'll definitely be playing this again when updates are rolled out, and I can absolutely see myself playing through this many times to experience the What Ifs. One of the best "Choices Matter' games, where choices do feel like they matter, yet failing options don't feel like the end of the world. Having resources to shift the outcomes to some extent also adds to the depth. This is a really impressive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SACRED FIRE -3- I'm 72 now. All I wanted was a chance to play the *complete* game before I'm incapable of doing so. Fortunately, I don't care any more bc I've had so many other great RPG experiences, and plenty coming along every month. 🙂 At my age, it's important not to keep looking back.
unlabelledView post →I wasn't sure what to expect from this game but i had a great time playing it. My community also loved watching the game play. I cant WAIT for the full release of the game its definitely in the top 10 games i've played this year. One thing I would LOVE would be more customization options for my character.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very very fun to play. Difficulty could be way harder, but ok all in all. Characters are interesting and the set up super nice. A bit woke without any need, to many references to equality and an absolutely unnecesary choice to play a subsaharan african as native in pre medieval northern europe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Omg i absolutely love this game! I love the story line! I LOVE how the action and fights are based on dices being rolled and not skill points and things like that! I would say my only negative is that its not finished it only has act 1 and that the character customization is limited and its hard to get wealth to customize your character more. Also like adding love interests and maybe being able to play as other characters while the story is progressing since i see we get to see if Wild loses a…
