The visuals and audio design are incredible, and it has some excellent live-action FMV cutscenes throughout. I should really stream it some time, it's such a gem 👀
unlabelledView post →For some reason this reminds me of the excellent horror game "Realms of the Haunting".
unlabelledView post →I want to see Nightdive tackle Realms of the Haunting in a similar way to how they did Killing Time. It's a great game that's held back by a slightly buggy DOS executable. Also Shogo Mobile Armor Division, because it's 50/50 that game will work on modern PCs (doesn't work on mine).

Realms of the Haunting. "i thought that would be too specific to exist." the 90s were wild! store.steampowered.com/app/292390/R...

unlabelledView post →The game itself looks like a really early precursor to fps-adventure game hybrids like Realms of the Haunting and Lands of Lore 2.
unlabelledView post →when i talk about No More White Horses (the provisional title of the game i'm making) its list of video game inspirations is quite limited (Realms Of The Haunting and Phantasy Star IV mostly) but its list of non-game inspirations is huge
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting is such an interesting game. I especially love the early game aesthetic. Lands of Lore 2 and Clive Barker's Undying are some of my favourite games and this feels right in between those. .. if you play it, save often to different slots 😅
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting. I've been replaying it recently and it really is an interesting mix of genres, it's a Doom and a point and click FMV adventure game. I feel like with games of this era, there was so much experimentation, and this one definitely experimented.

unlabelledView post →As someone who has (perhaps obviously) played Realms of the Haunting, I think I have wanted what this game is cooking for the past 20-25 years of my life
unlabelledView post →Tonight at 6 PM PDT, tonight we're checking out an interesting one, Realms of the Haunting, a hybrid FPS and adventure game with FMV cutscenes! It got good reviews at the time, so does it hold up? Or will the passage of time make this look more goofy than spooky? See you then! www.twitch.tv/eltrioch

unlabelledView post →A few clips from my most recent stream of Realms of the Haunting. Mostly of me getting jump scared and cussing excessively ✌️💀 The game is so good tho! Would love to continue. 😍😍
unlabelledView post →As far as I'm aware, Realms of the Haunting is the only video game that takes place in Cornwall, and Koudelka is the only game that takes place in Wales.

unlabelledView post →Tonight at 6 PM PDT, we continue Realms of the Haunting for First-Person Friday! This has been a really weird and interesting combination FPS and adventure game! Will our protag kiss Aelf (maybe)? Will our sassy sidekick continue to be sassy (probably)? Find out tonight! www.twitch.tv/eltrioch
unlabelledView post →My Spooptober streams this year will bring me back to a game that I already suffered through back in 2020 and... couldn't wait to do so again. It's Realms of the Haunting time. Let's finish it together on stream, as long as it takes. Starting tonight at 9.30 PM on www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...
unlabelledView post →One of my like. "Dream" games, which I probably won't make but really want to, is a spiritual successor to Realms of the Haunting that does the thing that game did where the actors were greenscreened into the lo-fi 2.5D in-game environments.
unlabelledView post →Going live with Realms of the Haunting! Can us linear mortals finish this game??? twitch.tv/shaxnkitsune
unlabelledView post →Going live with Realms of the Haunting! An old 90's FMV game! 😀 With FPS mechanics? 🤔 twitch.tv/shaxnkitsune
unlabelledView post →Think I've posted this before, but someone is making a Realms of the Haunting editor, and a launcher to make running the game a bit easier. Both are made with the Godot engine. github.com/slidick
unlabelledView post →Also, this is a deep cut but I have a soft spot for both the wooden doors in Realms of the Haunting, which were the first time I saw "realistic" working hinged doors in a game, and the Tower Gates, and their pyschedelic teleporation FMV. tales-from-the-tower.fandom.com/wiki/Tower_G...
unlabelledView post →Look the other year I replayed Realms of the Haunting *all the way through* so I have ZERO excuses for playing an actual good old game, regardless of any friction
unlabelledView post →Heya folks, here's a new retro into, this time featuring the 1996 FMV game Realms of the Haunting by Gremlin Interactive and Interplay. #realmsofthehaunting #videogames #fps #fmv #intro
unlabelledView post →You know this is a WILD pull but I was thinking the other day "someone cool should stream Realms of the Haunting". I thought this because I saw a picture of a hookah and there's a late game section where the protagonist describes how a hookah works
unlabelledView post →Today's #Huntober is a retro-game that combines FPS and FMV, released in 1996 (97 in North America) for the PC. It is Realms of the Haunting, a great example of a dimension spanning This Strange OId House. www.tumblr.com/thryth-gamin... #motw #monsteroftheweek #ttrpg
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting is an incredible game with huge flaws that deserves a proper remaster
unlabelledView post →I sometimes think of trying to port the freeware classic Iji from Game Maker to Godot, or try to recreate Realms of the Haunting as closely as possible since there's no source code available. I'd probably only do something like this if I had unlimited free time.
unlabelledView post →Deciding what type of project I want to work on next. I'm still interested in the Realms of the Haunting inspired FPS idea, but I also have ideas for a side-scroller or top-down game.
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting uniquely blends adventure game puzzle-solving, first-person shooter action, and horror. You play Adam Randall, investigating his father's death, which leads him to a haunted mansion and a battle between good and evil. One of my personal favs games of all time! #retro
unlabelledView post →I think this is the first time I’ve seen Realms of the Haunting cited as an inspiration for a game and that’s really cool
unlabelledView post →Idle thought: "Witchaven" is more or less "Clive Barker's Undying" before "Clive Barker's Undying". Although one might also argue for giving that title to "Realms of the Haunting". So maybe "Witchaven" was "Realms" before "Realms" was "Undying" before "Undying". ^_^ (Images from MobyGames.)

unlabelledView post →the OG cornwall game is Realms of the Haunting, and not acknowledging this is nothing less than erasure.
unlabelledView post →I’m still fond of how Realms of the Haunting enemies couldn’t go through doors. A bit of a problem for a game largely set in a house.
unlabelledView post →Nice collection there! 🤩 I'm particularly jealous of Realms of the Haunting, that was an awesome game and a great box... If that ever ends up on you one out list, let me know! 😁
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting. "What would happen if we bolted a DOOM-like onto a point-and-click adventure game?" Answer: it kinda slaps, actually
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting or ROTH as some of us called it. Old PC game with live actors. The game revolves around uncovering ancient prophecies, battling demonic entities, and solving intricate puzzles. It came out in 1996. One of my all time favorites. I replayed it about 3 years ago, still excellent.
unlabelledView post →Realms of the Haunting (MS-DOS) had an aesthetic that I haven't found in any other game. It had just enough sound & graphics capability to prime your imagination to do the rest, and it was brilliant. Now all media wants to show you everything in fine detail and not inspire imagination at all.
unlabelledView post →I've only seen it from SuperGreatFriend's LP of it, but I'm happy to hear Realms of the Haunting has been in front of a much larger audience. It's a hell of a game!
unlabelledView post →17. Speaking of games with lots of discs - There was this first person shooter/adventure game called Realms of the Haunting on PC. It came on FOUR discs, and it was yet another game I got from my cousin. Very cool PC game with surreal art and atmosphere. I highly recommend.
