And, I may very well be biased as I played these games as a kid as they released... not to date myself too much. I say all that to say, these games came from a time when the story and the emotion behind the game was more than the technology, by necessity. We didn't have all the crazy graphics, immense data packages that can hold 15 different endings. And yet, the very first game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quest for Glory Collection is a landmark compilation that preserves one of the most inventive and influential hybrid series in PC gaming history. Originally developed by Sierra and now published on Steam by Activision, the collection gathers all five main entries of the Quest for Glory saga into a single package, offering a sweeping journey that blends point-and-click adventure design with role-playing systems in a way that still feels distinctive decades later. Rather than being a loose…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Walking Game, that’s what my sister and I called it when we were young, watching dad play. Much to his chagrin, the game held our interest whenever he played. We’d gather around the monitor and make awful suggestions, most of which led to certain death, and we’d cackle with glee at the varying game over screens. Playing it now puts me in touch with treasured family memories that have gradually faded over the years in the face of adulthood. We had only the first game and for years I knew…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"So, you want to be a hero?" That's how this AMAZING saga started. Cringe all you want, but QFG was THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ back then! You'll choose to play a Thief, Wizard or Fighter in this hybrid RPG/puzzle game where your CHOICES MATTER. You'll play all 5 games with the same hero. You'll rescue someone who will help you 2 games later. Tiny curiosities in the 1st game turn into a quest in the 4th or 5th game. It is brilliant! Each class has different solutions to the puzzles, since each has a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been playing these games since the first one was called Hero's Quest. They are so much fun, and full of a lot of humor. Each game has at least 3 classes (some have 4) and each class has a unique way of completing the game, which ups the replay value. You can also take your character through all 5 games, which was pretty revolutionary at the time. I can't stress how much fun these games are. The one thing I would recommend is search for the free patch online, which fixes some of the…

If you are OK with dated graphics and a point and click style interface then I strongly urge you to play these games. Sierra games were the OG RPG games back in the day. Please please please experience these wonderful games. Also, check out Hero-U. A Rogue to Redemption which is a unofficial prequel made by Cory and Lori. The memories of me spamming /climb tree…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wish they were still making this series .... i have a feeling this is where most of the games today got there inspiration from
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played them years ago they need no endorsement. If you're new to the series I'm envious of you, getting to do them for the first time again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Quest for Glory (originally Hero's Quest but they failed to trademark the name and someone else nabbed it - if memory serves me correct). This series is an absolute classic of the 3D adventure gaming genre. I grew up on Sierra Online and Lucasfilm games and loved all of them. I am currently on a trip through nostalgia and am enjoying a replay of all the old Sierra games. I am particularly enjoying my replay of QG1 & QG2. My overall rating of the series is high. QG1 is wonderful, QG2…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They even have the VGA version of QFG 1 Look: the whole thing is worth it just to play the "hidden class" in QFG 4: Shadows of Darkness while John Rhys-Davies narrates the adventure. I don't think the charm of the game has aged, at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Quest for Glory, the VGA remake of Hero's Quest. It's great. Play it. Beware the Antwerp.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →classic game, classic fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the game I played the most as a kid. qfg5. It's what Oblivion tried to be, except it was back in the 90s. It still holds up. Countless hours and countless times beating it in different ways. I still have a physical copy of it on cd from back in the day. It holds a special place in my heart. Absolutely WAAAYYYYYYY ahead of its time. I still hold this game very high and judge new games against it. The only bad thing is, back in the 90's, you had to download a patch, so that the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent anthology containing two notable classics - QFG1VGA and QFG4. The first broke ground as a hybrid adventure/quest-RPG, later upgraded to sumptuous VGA; and QFG4 perfected the formula. Meanwhile, QFG2&3 tried to tinker with the template with mixed success. If you want to play QFG2, go for AGDI's 2011 faithful remake. QFG5 came out in less than glorious 3D toward the end of the 1990s, and it failed to quite capture either the magic of the original, or the incipient glory of the 3D…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a child, I got "Hero's Quest" on 3 floppies. They had the title scrawled in magic marker on the front. It took years to realize that this was piracy, but I played the thing anyway. Shortly after I borrowed it from my father's student, she died, leaving me with these disks I never got to return. Months later, I realized I could copy them into one folder and finally venture into the woods. Suffice it to say, I cant be an authority on this game because I have these incredibly personal…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The QfG1 was my first RPG ever. It definitely made an impact on how I perceive gaming, art and music. Then it was a colorful, wondrous passtime and a great way of learning English. Now, 30 years later, it's a magical journey to the past with hints of freshness, since I finally get all the jokes :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game series and it's developers will forever hold a special place in my heart. I grew up not only playing the hells out of this game series, but within a stones throw of where the developers lived at the time. Even now as I sit down to write this review, I'm flooded with all the memories this game series has made for me over the years. This is definitely more than worth its asking price on here, and I cannot recommend it nearly enough. Whether this is your first step into classic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The VGA version, which is the one we played. I first played Quest for Glory in the early 90s and loved it then, and I'm happy to say it still holds up. It's harder than it seems, with some very specific commands and actions required, but there's something really satisfying about building up your character over time. Playing as a thief is particularly fun, sneaking around town and stealing things from people's houses. A great bit of old-school adventure gaming and a good way to burn a few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the first RPGs I ever played, and still an all time favorite.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is pure nostalgia for me, I miss Sierra games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing this game reminds me of the better parts of my teenage years. I'd get home on a Friday afternoon from school, bust out all my homework and chores as soon as I got home, that way I could play all weekend, I played them all and loved them. Coming back after all this time I wasn't sure what to expect, as some of these older games do not play well and nostalgia is all that keeps them going, this was not one of those situations.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia inspired purchase, impressed with the beauty and how fun it was to revisit. Pretty stellar use of graphics available at the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“Quest for Glory” series of 5 games is a true classic from the 90s, a unique blend of point&click adventure and RPG. At the beginning you choose one of the three classes – fighter, mage or thief (and starting QfG3 also paladin); distribute skill points to your attributes (with an opportunity to create a hybrid class, like spellcasting thief), and then set out into the fantasy world to prove yourself a true hero. Game features classic adventuring elements like picking items and using them,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get amongst it it's good. There is also a remake of #2 if you look it up if the original 2 is a bit rough for you. Worth it and do more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic series, probably the most different from the Sierra classics as it has strong RPG elements. Great games. For this collection I'll transcribe what I said about the Space Quest collection: "This collection works pretty well straight out the box, it opens a launcher window with all games in the series and then you can choose which one to play. All of them (except the last one) run on DOSBox, pretty standard stuff, don't forget to edit the .conf file to remove fullscreen and add a CRT…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess i'll start by saying the game is highly recommended. A child born in the 80's I grew up around Sierra games. This is and will always be my favourite collection. Even if Steam logs it under 70 hours of game-play, the truth is that i probably have more hours in this series over the years than what dedicated younger MMO players have in titles such as ARK. I will go a different route in honouring the Cole's and QFG. Obviously the world created, character classes and individual solving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never got far in this series and almost got to the end part the first game. My friend played the second game and the pain that he went through was insane. I watched him traverse that maze and I for one didn't care as I liked the time period for it. Anyone remember the sliding cover boxes these games came in? I sure do and the good amount of 5.25 and 3.5 diskettes just to play them! Those were the days. WHEN GAMES WERE GAMES. No high end graphics, just amazing story lines and some fun to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved these games as a kid, some of my favorites. Glad they got it working on Steam for modern systems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic from long long ago
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEST GAMES EVER
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this back when it was installed with 3.5 floppies. Years later i played it on DOS Box. It made me feel stupid paying the $3 for steam but they make it just enough easier to play it that i feel it was money worth spending.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Quest for Glory Collection has reached it's expiration date.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →most classic set of games in the world, please do yourself a favor. this and skyrim, my most favorite games ever, can't be beat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in the day, this was a groundbreaking game that had multiple paths, interesting puzzles, and loads of replayability. Then the second game came out. Then the third and fourth. Quest for Glory was a game where the type of character determined how you would go through the story. Some locations were the same for each style. However, the vast majority of the game was spent figuring out just how to get into a certain location based off available talents. Truly it was a remarkable game that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great series! Lots of atmosphere, humor, and replayability. To this day, not many games have the option to carry over a character from one game to the next – let alone 5 games! Many fond memories of this series from my past and, replaying them recently, I think they still hold up – even Dragon Fire! Some notes for new or returning users: I would just download and use SCUMMVM for running 1 through 4 versus the included DOSBox emulation. You’ll have a nicer experience overall with some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great throwback games. - Takes me back to my Middle and High school days in the 90's Yes the graphics are dated, even the VGA's and the latest (QFC-V) one. Unfortunately they don't have QFG-2 in VGA. There are a few places that do have it in VGA and it does allow the save game files. - I believe it is from AGD interactive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite retro game. My first adventure game and still the best of them all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blast from the past. These games bring me back to my childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play the 5th one all the time as a kid. So nostalgic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not receive this product for free. In fact, I bought original game, VGA remake, 2, 3, and 4 both independently when they came out and then with the QFG CD Anthology when that came out. Then I got 5 in its box. And now I bought this collection. These are still some of my favorite classic 1989/90s RPGs. Choosing attributes/skills and then having attributes/skills increase directly from use was ahead of its time. QFG 1's original release, VGA remake , QFG 2, 3, and 4 for PC predate Elder…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A true hero's beginning. I played this so long ago and to be able to remember and beat this as a hero again. Makes me feel young again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played these when I was a kid and it's still fun remembering these games. Although the saving my game on QFG2 at the end for import into QFG3 doesn't work. It says that it creates the saved game, but I can never find the file.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just too old and too clunky to ply in 2022. I love old school games and yes Indeed I did play this when it was brand new. However, it needs to be totally revamped with a new UI among other things and that's just not going to happen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worse than pirate's version. They didn't even care to match Dosbox parameters. All animations are hosed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quest for Glory, this series is a true classic and one of the gems in the old Sierra catalog of classics. This series is a hybrid of RPG and Point and Click Adventure(Well the VGA remake of 1 and then 3, 4 and 5 the original version of 1 aka Hero's Quest and part 2 were text parser driven) So you have set encounters, random encounters, combat, 3 character classes(a 4th one that becomes avalible if you complete certain marks in the second game) and stats that you raise by performing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quest for Glory 1-5 completely remade with modern combat. You must be able to carry your character over through all 5 games. Am I really the only one who dreams about something like this?
