positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →live-action choose your own story adventure game that tests your reflex skills with dynamic quick time events. The story is simple but hilarious and the actors give this kind of awkard "office" tone that makes the delivery of some lines even funnier when they're said

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →short, cheesy fmv with terrible acting, where dying is just as fun as not dying, especially with chapter select and backspace skipping the current scene. there are bloopers (only after beating the game on hard), behind the scenes pics, a gallery to rewatch all the unlocked death scenes, subtitles, 1994 mode (pixels everywhere), resolution options, windowed mode, but no audio settings. don't miss it if you're into this sort of thing, but there's a demo to try if you're not sure, the save can be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ridiculous, chaotic and exactly what it sets out to be. It’s basically a fast paced interactive movie where everything goes wrong if you’re not paying attention. The acting and writing lean hard into the humor, and it’s way more fun with friends watching or yelling at you. Short, silly and memorable if you know what you’re getting into.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was obviously intended to be goofy as hell and succeeded. I had a few legitimate laughs. It nailed the nostalgia of lower budget FMV games from the 90's which will always hold a special place in my heart. It is very short, but worth the price of admission for some solid low-budget entertainment in my book.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't want to write anything mean, so I'll keep it short and sweet. I really don't recommend spending any amount of money on this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →press x to release a sequel
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press X to Not Die is pure chaotic fun. It feels like playing through a goofy B-movie where every quick-time event somehow makes things even more ridiculous. It’s short, silly, and doesn’t take itself seriously at all, perfect if you just want to laugh and mash buttons for a bit.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Short but Very Fun, 100% would recommend at the $3 price tag. Just don't forget to press X or you'll di... ... ... .... This is her mother, I guess she forgot to press X. Oh well, one less mouth to feed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty rough and goofy but honestly it's just nice to play something where it's clear that everybody had a lot of fun making it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press X to Not Die is a game you should relax with, it's not meant to be taken seriously, and it has insane humor LOL. The people who made this game definitely had fun making it, even though the game itself is "♥♥♥♥" LOL. It's worth collecting, platinuming, and farming Steam trading cards to make badges! Oh, always PRESS X to avoid dying. And I think maybe a sequel might be worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gory, unfunny, shoddily-made crap. Needs a skip button for repeat playthroughs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What's there to say about a game that makes you so angry that you repeatedly keep taking your hands off the keyboard to cover your own eyes and continually miss every single prompt thrusting you even further into the hellish depths of one of the most sickening and painful gaming experiences of my soft cotton gaming short life. I will never play this game again. But I will continue to beat my tender gaming loins to one of the hottest pov clown fights I have ever seen. Thank you for nothing, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this game is more of a novelty than anything else. As the title suggests, you press the X key to avoid death. It's not a game you'll sink hours into. I basically 100% it after one play through. But for what it is, and how cheap the price is. I can't complain. Best used by: Drunk friends at a party will get a laugh out of this for a good few minutes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is worth a few laughs. Play it on easy and just enjoy. Girlfriend action is so terrible is almost good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a friggin' time capsule, cause yeah, I was NOT prepared to hear about Team Edward and Team Jacob in 2026 xD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First time played this game since 2017 when I bought it. That was a lot to miss all the time. totally recommend playing this game in 1994 mode
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might be one of those times when the only right thing to say is that the game is so bad it's good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/5 The ultimate cringe but it is totally worth it if on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is comedy! why did everybody forget about it? C H O C O L A T E . I love this game, it's not at all serious, its a comedy! no... it is press x to not die!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10 YouTube video-quests from 2012 are back.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press X to Not Die is one of those FMV indie games that fully embraces the idea of “so bad it’s good” and turns it into its entire identity. The premise is exactly what the title suggests - you are constantly being thrown into ridiculous situations where the game literally screams at you to press a button or die. And then it proceeds to punish you in the most over-the-top, intentionally goofy ways imaginable. The gameplay is built around quick time events and simple choices, but the real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played the demo and fell in love. played the full game and loved it. but by the time i started replaying for the other branches, i wasn't as enthralled. it's not the dev's fault that the best experience is the first one, of course! but it is on them for creating such a silly, wonderful game that i'm thrilled exists.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That a game from 2015 remains a breath of fresh air just by virtue of it not being "Shitty movie with PRESS X TO NOT DIE here and there! Epic!" is kinda wild. And I believe there's a real craving for it actually; just look at how much shit gets the stupid "Choices Matter"-tag on Steam.
unlabelledView post →Press X to Not Die, developed and published by All Seeing Eye Games, is one of those rare indie titles that fully embraces its absurdity while managing to deliver a surprisingly entertaining experience. It functions as both a parody of interactive movies and a loving homage to the genre, capturing the spirit of 1990s full-motion video games but with sharper self-awareness and modern editing. The premise is as ridiculous as its title suggests—you wake up in a town where everyone has suddenly…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is definitely fun despite the acting being wooden. Recommend if you want to play something for a guilty pleasure.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fine little FMV game takes about 30 mins to finish. Would really have loved a higer FOV as the completely zoomed in angle gets really tiring to look at even at just 30 minutes. for 50 cents on sale it's hard to complain though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A 20-30 minute interactive movie with very little player involvement other than some button prompts, Press X to Not Die feels rushed, dated, and sloppy. Not much to talk about here with this one due to its length but... The jokes are bad, real bad. Reminded me of Cards Against Humanity. Random for random sake. Dated references to things like Twilight and juggalos. Just bad. The jokes were the thing that stood out to me the most. I was cringing and shaking my head almost the entire time. There…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really weird I have to be honest. The worst part for me is when you kiss your girlfriend at the end, lmao. hilarious and honestly surprisingly difficult, the last achievement is within reach if you believe in yourself. lmao. just kidding, there's a guide. Definitely recommend if you like weird stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow its great hope for slot more I would not stop there should make more wow.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A video game, in the loosest sense of the word possible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lol a fun little adventure for the very casual gamer that can appreciate art and a good chuckle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I press X but i die
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 game is super shlocky and fun. audio could use some work as well as a few camera issues. But the tone and narrative is perfection. Make more. Thats my note.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, let me tell you not to hear the people saying, "The story is bad, and you should not play it." The story is bad on purpose; you have to be part of the kind of audience that likes this. I'm not recommending the game for other reasons. => The camera shakes much more than needed and often focuses on the ground when you are moving forward. => The keybinds can't be changed, and they are terrible for a quick-time event game. => Kind of personal, but the focus on the game is already the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I was a teenager in the 90's, my best friend and I used to record all kinds of small sketches and short films on his Video-8 camera. We had tons of fun with it, and we usually rewatch them when we meet up, and laugh at out teenage selves. Now I'm in my 40's, and this game took me straight back to the 90's with my best friend. The game is funny, first of all. I laughed out loud several times (Oh, you're dying? That's not helpful). It's creative and obviously made by people who had a blast…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little indie FMV game with endearingly terrible acting, worth a playthrough just for a laugh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD, IT MADE MY HAIR GROW BACK AND MY CHILD TALK TO ME AGAIN, PLEASE MAKE A SECOND ONE SO THAT MY WIFE RETURNS AS WELL!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once again I find myself really, really wanting the "Press X to Not Die" button in basically every game I play. I want to play Spider-Man on my PS5 (thanks, @runwithskizzers.bsky.social ) but I am absolutely terrible at it, and I keep getting super frustrated.
unlabelledView post →When will the sequel come out?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press X to Not Die is intentionally ridiculous, and being utterly terrible is clearly part of the joke. If you enjoy cheesy FMV games that don’t take themselves seriously, there’s some entertainment to be had. That said, the game is extremely short. Even with multiple endings and different choices, it can easily be completed in under 30 minutes, and I’d estimate there’s only around two hours of content at most if you’re aiming to see everything. Thankfully, the price reflects that. The normal…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So Mid It's Almost Charming Pffff... this one is a mixed bag. There really isn't anything truly memorable about this game. I enjoyed some of the jokes, the main female character was quite interesting, and I also liked the scientist girl's monologue. Other than that, though, this was mostly just a meh experience. The video production is very amateurish, but it's still watchable. The story is extremely generic - honestly, AI could probably come up with something better nowadays. At least, since…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love chocolate. And fmv games. Especially this game, the overall package is a TERRIBLE game but its so bad its good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personallz I think it totally nails (no pun intended) what it is going for.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best fun bad game a friend of mine and I played. So nostalgic!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[On Linux I had to manually force Proton 10 for it to work.] Short and pretty funny. Makes me want to create something similar! I played for 30 mins, don't really care to see the rest of the content. But for £0.49 on sale, it was a bargain.
