Seems like a perfectly well made little puzzle game, with solid rules. Unfortunately it kind of lacked any hook to keep me playing: there's no story, the game isn't pretty enough to enjoy just looking at, and the unlocks system would only motivate me if I cared to play in the first place. From the very start it's just a "get a higher score" kind of game, which is just not the kind of thing that motivates me. It doesn't help that the UX is a bit clunky: they went for a very cute, stylized UI,…

Spoke with the developers. They said to me, they're going to be releasing Free Expansions for this game. No money, no nothing. Buy this game, support them, they're true developers. I love it, it's a good puzzler. It's relaxing. They made something great here. Don't sleep on this one. It's a keeper!

The game is very addictive, and there's endless replayability because it's more of a turn-based roguelite than a pure puzzle game. The pieces you get are random, the missions you get are random, the disasters are random, and it's not a matter of purely solving a puzzle; you need a sound strategy to try and give yourself the best chance to get a good score or complete the optional objectives. If the randomness sounds like a turn off, that's one place where the strategy comes in: you can do…

SUM: Planetiles provides an engaging experience with its tile placement mechanics, appealing to fans of Strategic City Builder and Turn-Based Tactics genres. The game revolves around strategizing how to efficiently use the tiles you're given within your area. You'll aim to complete tasks during each turn while optimizing tile placement. Choosing between different features based on the efficient placement of adjacent tiles rewards you with upgrades. As these systems merge, you continue…

Planetiles is a fantastic tile game that's both easy to learn and a blast to play. Its visuals are eye-catching and its sound design is spot-on, adding to the overall enjoyment. Playing the game feels really smooth, with each action and placement fitting seamlessly into the gameplay. Plus, the space theme is super cool and becomes more appealing the more you play. Give it just 30 minutes, and you'll find yourself fully immersed and loving every moment of it!

Consider this a neutral review, because my runs got better and better, but I still found the game to be too restrictive and rng heavy for my liking. - It's hard to figure out and actually build the special structures, especially on smaller maps where you start. - The technologies you can pick before starting a new map don't change your game too much. - The choices you are forced to make during the game can be game breaking because they are random. So you are close to finishing that area you…

Sadly, just not ready for EA. Running this on a widescreen, no matter what the system resolution is set to, clips off the outer part of the UI -- including where the "settings" button allegedly is. Start and Back on your xbox controller both instantly exit the game. Escape immediately exits the game. Clicking in the black bars on the side of your screen where the settings button is supposed to be immediately exits the game. It seems like it might be a fun game but it's hard to tell.

throws you in with almost no form of tutorial into a total onslaught of mechanics and information. the tutorial is some text boxes. show don't tell. no idea why this is part of a city building bundle, it's a puzzle game pretty clearly made for mobile devices.

Pretty cool puzzle game you can relax with. Can be challenging every now and then. Played it already at gamescom and the first few minutes can be tricky but when you get into the flow you can get lost in building those planets :) Things to fix (3rd April 2024): - inconsistent UI, sometimes it's hard to find some buttons - the widescreen (21:9) doesn't work really, the UI falls apart

I am really terrible at this game but it's still a lot of fun lol. It's a bit too stressful for me with way too many things to keep in mind while placeing tiles, for me personally, but the concept of the game is really neat and if math doesn't hurt your brain, you'll probably really enjoy it!

I'm giving this one a thumbs up because the directions and the User Interface is super easy to understand. I appreciate games that are intuitive to play. This game is both a terraformer and a tetris game. Surprising combination--but it works. This game is good as a cozy/relaxing game. Good music too.

I can't put my finger on it why but I just don't want to come back to this game. It sat in my library, installed - but unlike some other games which I say to myself that it's just not the day but I look forward to playing them, I just did not enjoy this and need to put it to rest. There's just other similar puzzle/builder games that I enjoy way more and the restrictive progression does not help.

Planetiles: Dorfromantic left me unsatisfied as an endless score chase. Planetiles is a Dorflike (Carcassimilar?) with a level based structure and finite space. This setup appeals more to me. I didn't find the hard goals fun though, I was happy to put the game down after completing all the stages.

Consider this a neutral review. As the puzzle mechanics go, this game is alright. The puzzles are interesting enough, appropriately difficult, and have plenty of stuff to discover. The random events will sometimes ruin your plans but over multiple playthroughs, I don't really have a problem with them. What I DO have a problem with, though, is forcing a really bad machine translation at me. When you first launch the game, it forces you into an apparently unskippable tutorial before you can even…

English Planetiles is a cozy and relaxing game that I played for a short time. It plays a lot like Tetris but instead of just clearing lines you are placing different tiles to build and shape little planets. It is a very chill experience where you do not have to stress too much and can just relax while fitting the pieces together. It was a short but sweet experience for me and it is definitely a decent game. If you want a cozy puzzle game to unwind and clear your head it is definitely not bad…

Very fun, and fairly relaxing too. I do have some things about the game that annoy me immensely mostly around the lack of an "information/help/tips" section. Some parts of the game you're expected to just figure out or remember what exactly the wording was and that's NOT very accessible. But for the most part I do really recommend this game because it's pretty, (usually) relaxing and also has a good amount of re-playability. I feel like it's good value!

A nice little puzzle game. Try to fill up a planet using tetris-like tiles. Complete goals to get more tile sets. Matching tiles give points. Specific 3x3 sets add facilities that will aid you during a run. There's also events during a run that give both positive aqnd negate effects. And there's a bit of meta-progression. It's good. Can be fun if you like tile based puzzles. If you're a die-hard fan of these types of games, you'll probably like it very much. There's a leaderboard. Not sure if…

What seemed like a relaxing and simple game turned into a very enjoyable experience trying to find the right combos and mastering placement. Game has a surprising amount of depth to it, and you can choose to play in so many ways like focusing on missions, upgrades, avoiding risk at the cost of upgrades and all of them have valid cases to use them based on what playstyle works for you. Planetiles, developed and published by MythicOwl, is a deceptively gentle strategy puzzler that takes the familiar joy of tile placement and expands it across entire planets. At first glance, it may resemble other hex-based building games, but its cosmic scale and ecological focus give it a distinct identity. The player isn’t building cities for people or infrastructure for industry—rather, they are restoring life to barren celestial bodies by arranging terrain, growing biomes, and responding…

While this puzzle game started off quite fun and interesting, I feel like I hit a real wall with it within just a couple of hours. You have to be very good at the game to progress to new levels (I only managed to unlock two), and while you do garner experience points and upgrades just by playing, I quickly became bored with the three levels I could actually play.
