Every environment has a piece of my heart in it. I hoped that someday people would be able to play it, and it's finally here 🥹❤️
unlabelledView post →People of Note is one of the most original games of the year. It also doesn't take itself too seriously, taking you on catchy theatrical numbers to unwind after exploring its deep combat systems. Simply put, it’s a perfect intersection between turn-based games and music. My review.
unlabelledView post →I really gotta thank the person who was crying about how woke DEI this game is because I bought it just to spite them, and it's very fun cute and charming and well made. The music is good, the gameplay is solid and the story is feelsgood. I hope this game gets the attention it deserves
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DISCLAIMER: I was VERY much looking forward to this game releasing and had high hopes with every music video that came out. P.S. This started out as neutral but over the course of the game up till Lassos blue boss battle changed into negative, as much as it disheartened myself. TLDR at the bottom This is one of those games steam DESPERATELY needs to add a neutral option for. The game advertises itself as a musical "rpg", which i consider only a half truth. Lets start with the positives: 1.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yoooooo! I've been digging my time so far in People of Note and this game ABSOLUTELY appeals to the theatre kid in me. Plus, it's always nice to see a homie in a game ;)
unlabelledView post →I've wanted to like this game. It was different, it could have been refreshing. Let me pitch you the story: the main character is a pop singer hoping to get noticed in a major music contest which turns out to be rigged by evil forces. Her only hope to win it requires travelling through the game world, enrolling band members, solving local issues and collecting MacGuffins before the evil forces get them. After the starting town dedicated to pop and K-pop, you travel to the rock region divided…

unlabelledView post →I could write the most convincing video game review you've ever read, but to actually make you go out of your way to purchase a game that was not on your radar truly makes my day. Thanks Eric! And enjoy People of Note 🎶
unlabelledView post →You can definitely feel this game was made with love, but its just not for me Good: - Soundtrack is nice Neutral: - 1 hour was not enough to deep dive into story Bad: - You would expect that music-based game with prompt-based command would be bound to BPM (music) (like "No Straight Roads" or "Hi-Fi rush", and both are absolutely great games), but here it is not - Enemy animations/attacks are not bound to BPM - Your attacks are not bound to BPM - You just have background music - It is…

unlabelledView post →3 major things occur during People of Note. 1. The Story is simple, if you've seen a disney movie then you know the story but that's not to say it's bad. It's your typical. Hero goes on a journey, gets a quest, saves the world but the reason why it's known is because it works and People of Note uses it to it's advantage. 2. The combat is amazing in many ways except one. Combat is played in 'stanzas' where the enemies attacks are already telegraphed and your party's actions fill in the blank…

unlabelledView post →That's right folks, it is here! PEOPLE OF NOTE!!!! I couldn’t wait to jump in this morning. From the moment I saw the teaser trailer, I knew this was a game made for me!! The character designs are stunning, the writing is sharp and full of personality, and the environments are absolutely beautiful. The battling has been really fun so far, and the music has been amazing. Beyond just looking and sounding great, the game has so much heart. You can really feel how much love was poured into every…

unlabelledView post →my friends @iridiumstudios.bsky.social finally finished their amazing musical RPG (go play People of Note!!) so obviously for the launch party I had to make custom DDR charts for some of the songs from the game (honored to have DDR legend DukAmok play my charts at the party!!)
unlabelledView post →This game has been a breath of fresh air. It is just really fun, lighthearted and lovingly crafted. The game brings me back to the FFX days but with modern improvements to combat reminding me of Expedition 33. I came for the RPG, but I was actually really surprised by just HOW GOOD the soundtrack is, and the in-game music videos actually had me not wanting to skip through the cut scenes. Really cool hidden gem indie game, highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally tried the People Of Note demo tonight. Yep, definitely getting this game now; that demo was great.
unlabelledView post →REVIEW FROM A GUY WHO ISN'T IN TO MUSIC OR MUSICALS: If you are holding off as someone who is an avid JRPG fan but not into musicals, hopefully this review is helpful. At 5 hours in the game is extremely enjoyable and what you'd expect for a smaller scale 20ish hour JRPG. Standard tactical combat with enough nuance to make it feel challenging and fun. The main thing is the story isn't in your face and preachy about the musical aspect. It's in fact very well written and fun. I'm enjoying the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a weapon in People of Note called the Enbee Stinger. It's a turntable that looks like a bee with the nonbinary flag pattern on it. This game has been slept on! Also, it's on sale right now. It's SO good. @iridiumstudios.bsky.social nailed it.
unlabelledView post →Finally found the time to finish making a post of some of the work I did on People of Note! 🥳 I had the chance to texture all of the weapons/instruments throughout the game, which ended up being an awesome experience 🤘🎸 Link to the post will be below! 😁

unlabelledView post →Game is People Of Note, an utterly charming western JRPG throwback, basically Clair Obscur meets Hifi Rush. Expedition 3/4? 😋 Oh and its also a musical
unlabelledView post →People of Note is a game that quietly pulls you in and doesn’t let go. I went in not exactly knowing what to expect and ended up having a great time with it! If you’re a fan of music games and RPGs, this is absolutely for you. The characters go through meaningful growth, they’re genuinely funny (even if it gets a bit corny at times), and the songs are fantastic. The sound design is easily a 10/10 and really carries a lot of the experience. Combat uses an off-beat timing system, which is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm glad People of Note got some great reviews! I've been keeping track of this game since it was announced, and a musical turn-based RPG sounds right up my alley. Don't know when I'll get to this one though, maybe next month ✌️
unlabelledView post →So many cool games with amazing ideas were shown off at today's Day of the Devs showcase. Indie developers are SO TALENTED! 🥹 There are quite a few indies I have my eye on, like Beastro and People of Note. Stretchmancer is WILDLY creative, like if you were high on shrooms playing a puzzle game 😂
unlabelledView post →Rolled credits on People of Note. As of right now my final score is 10/10, game of the year, no n- …actually lots of notes. Lots of commentary. Lots of things that I might have done differently, tones I might have changed, and still it’s perfect. Closing credits nailed it. Heartfelt recommendation.

unlabelledView post →As a two-bit DJ at some bar in the middle of nowhere this game really speaks to me. All the music references are great. The music numbers are very "disney". I like that though. There is something about this rpg that just makes you feel good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so far, the game has been generally great seeing alot of the music puns in some of the enemy names or just around the world has been great, and getting the classic JRPG style gameplay with a ff7 materia style system in the game is generally quite fantastic to see Also you can pet an Acorggian so 10/10 for that alone
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not only is the game fairly colorful, but the art style stands out to me- comic books done purely in pencil- and it suits the game perfectly! And it honestly speaks to the artist in me- I may be more of a digital artist and the like, but this game definitely speaks to all artists in my opinion. And the fact that we can trigger random battles at will- that is a fantastic twist, can't wait to play through the whole game!

unlabelledView post →Just finished People of Note by @iridiumstudios.bsky.social ! What a wonderful game, enjoyed it from start to finish (my daughters loved watching/playing along the way also). Really well planned and executed for its vision and scope. Killer soundtrack. 🎶
unlabelledView post →People of Note was clearly made with a lot of love and overall is a well polished 20-30hr JRPG. As I played, I was constantly eager to see the next area, hear the next tune, and meet the next character. The game is just a joy to play and offered a new experience for this 40yr old JRPG fan and I expect it to be nominated for best sound design this year. (I played on normal difficulty) Pros -Great soundtrack through and through (crucial for a music game) -Fully voiced -Has an Interesting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story on normal is probably about 20 hours long with the rhythm timing on. it could be quicker if you don't look around the world much or do any of the side stuff. There's some interesting puzzles that make you think but once it clicks its great (There is an option to turn them off if you don't wnat to deal with them but i feel that takes away from trying to figure them out and enjoying the overall experience), fighting the musical monsters and meeting all the cool characters in their…

unlabelledView post →People of Note is a genuinely enjoyable game and while it's not without its flaws, it's hard not to appreciate the heart and effort the developers poured into it. Admittedly I was kinda jebaited into thinking this was gonna be a rhythm/turn-based RPG with Hi-fi Rush type mechanics. And while that is true to a certain extent, it's actually more like pressing the relevant prompts at the right time with a glimmer of rhythm to it. Your main characters do bob their head to the BGM though so that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SO many games I wanna play just came out wtf Replaced, Pragmata, Mouse P.I For Hire, Windrose EA, Opus Prism Peak, People of Note I'M NOT MADE OF MONEY, CHILL GAME DEVS
unlabelledView post →I somehow put 100 hours into this game. I expected something quirky and experimental. What I got was a game that completely commits to its idea and actually pulls it off. The music isn’t just good, it’s the kind you stop and listen to. The combat feels natural once it clicks, and the rhythm elements flow well with the turn-based system. The world is another standout. It’s weird in a good way. Every area has its own personality, and the game trusts you to just roll with it. NPCs have charm…
