49 of 49 · most liked firstUPDATE (5/31/2023): It's been OVER two months since release, and most of the issues outlined here have not been fixed. There has only been one patch. It fixed almost nothing. The game has been put on sale, so they haven't forgotten about it, but they also have not been updating it whatsoever. I can't recommend this game at ALL in its current state, just stick to the non-VR version. I'm severely disappointed at this, because I was genuinely excited to try it out. I'm not angry, not even sad,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start by saying, I have over 100 hours in the non-VR version of this game, I have done countless playthroughs and while not the best player, I feel I am pretty damn good at the game. The reason I mention this is as much as I love NFB, this VR port has some issues. Firstly, interference is a nightmare. It is way way way too sensitive. I know theres a interference sensitivity setting, I have it set as low I can, its still a nightmare. It is to the point where I ended up just turning…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No matter how I try to play. Quest 2, Quest 3, Pico 4 or HP reverb and also using vive controllers, none show the controllers. I've tried linking by quest fibre cable, virtual desktop, Quest steam link and none of them work. As I've wasted hours trying to get it working I now can't get a refund. But I can advise you not to buy this crappy, months later unsupported game that shows no sign of being fixed by the developers. And I've noticed many people with the same complaint. I look out for this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →'Not For Broadcast VR,' another great VR version of an original non VR game. Strapping on the VR headset transforms the experience into a sidesplitting spectacle. You'll find yourself fully immersed in the zany world of live television production, juggling outrageous events and leaving you confused at the end of your shifts. From adjusting camera angles to censoring unexpected outbursts, the VR version takes the already entertaining original game to dizzying heights of amusement.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Experienced on the Meta Quest 2 You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/1VQf6smYUhM While I do agree with the negative reviews that the VR interactions for the radio frequency are too sensitive, I don't agree that it's unplayable because of it. It just takes some getting used to. I was able to beat the game without too much difficulty. I beat the game in about 8 hours, 9 hours if you include the extra Telethon and a few challenges. Still, I do think the devs should…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Game runs horribly, even on officially-supported devices. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon the port's release, the game would always get stuck on an infinitely-long loading screen. It took a month after release for the developers to release a patch and fix it. By that point, it was already too late for a refund. Then, upon loading the game up and no longer getting stuck on the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I see a lot of negative reviews, so I guess I am just lucky. The game runs great for me, I have never played the original game but holy crap is this game funny. I've played only an hour but the reporter and the actors are absolutely hilarious. The frequency, while being a bit tricky at first, is a fun little minigame which you will get used to. It is just a bit finnicky in VR but I really don't think it's nearly as bad as others are saying. I'm definitely going to play this more, great stuff!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is unplayable due to bug were your hands are under the floor... judging by the community this will never be patched with some stating the game is abandoned... unless the community patch it themselves via the form of a mod...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to give it a score but it won't run. Black screen on start up. I see this is the case for most people. Do not buy yet
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a bug that on some setups brings the controller hands below the ground, preventing them from interacting with anything, even the menus. I am using one of those setups, and I can't play the game (Meta Quest 3 via ALVR). This game has been abandoned and has no new updates. Which means this bug will never be resolved. So I had to refund. Pity, and very unethical from the developers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone with an interest in broadcasting, specifically with Television, and someone who actually used to run a TV channel myself, this is such an amazing accurate representation of how a TV channel is run (when its not in Automation). All the controls, specifically switching between different feeds, waiting for the perfect time to switch, was the most accurate part of the game imo. Great game, definitely recommend if you have an interest in broadcasting aswell. Also the results screen being…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, if you aren't annoyed by the touchy interference, the touchy censor button, and just the bugs in general, because sometimes, with the censor button, you either: hover over it and accidentally censor, or it doesn't register a touch with two quick words and you miss the second word. With the interference, you either: dont hover over the interact area properly and miss the interference by a little bit, or go up too fast or go down to fast with the slider and completely lose your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game afraid that everything would be terrible (judging by the reviews). But it’s great, you get the full feeling of the game and are imbued with the gameplay and plot. The controls are easy, but at the same time there are some difficulties, for example, controlling interference is a little complicated. But these are all minor things, since you can change the difficulty settings and everything will be easier or more difficult. The plot is quite depressing and not everyone will like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only played this version and not the flat version, but it feels like it was meant to be in vr. It feels natural slapping the camera buttons to switch views. I like that the choices you make can alter the game and that gives you plenty of reasons to replay. You can go back and watch the broadcasts that you edited afterwards, it's a bit surreal sitting in a chair in VR watching a fake tv of a show you just made. It would be nice to be able to watch the broadcasts outside of VR on a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completely unplayable. Hand tracking is broken and cannot navigate menu, let alone the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played the flat version of this game so I didn't know what to expect from this. I'm pleasantly surprised, it's fun and intelligent satire. I'm using the Vive Pro 2 and have great visuals and encountered no technical issues. I'm also using the Valve Index controllers which work fine but the angle of your virtual hands is not what it should be. It still works. Anyways, I got quickly drawn in and will definitely come back to finish this. Great idea and good execution. I hope the DLC from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was one of those who had the black screen startup bug (HP Reverb G2 / Steam VR via WMR). Within a week of launch they'd sent me a beta-branch invite that worked like a charm. I also have never played the non-VR version. I saw it, but decided to wait until the VR version came out. Now that it has, I've done 2 full playthroughs and I enjoyed it quite a bit. For my 2nd playthrough, I shut-off all the mini-game/challenge/distractions, and just focused on the story. I actually ended up liking that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun enough for a quick session every now and then. I'm playing on a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop, and had the same hands through the floor problem others were having. The problem went away though, when i connected through the built-in link and launched SteamVr through the shortcut. So to anyone having that same issue, i'd recommend trying that. Other than that, like i said, it's entertaining in short bursts. Entertaining enough for a recommendation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was excited because other reviews say the game is more fun than it looks on the surface. Never got past then menu because it doesn't work on my headset at all. Saw posts from others with the same problem on official forums and the dev response didn't look hopeful. As of this review, it's been 7 months since VR release and there have been 2 updates, last of which was 5 months ago. I now hold no hope for future fixes, and they pretty much shut out any chance for mods. I will avoid future releases…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun especially if you're a weed smoker. Never played anything like it flat or vr. Easy game you can pick up fast and just have stupid fun. Works well on the valve index.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really impressed so far. I never heard of this game before purchasing so didn't know what to expect. I'm about two hours in and don't see myself stopping for awhile. Portions of the game involve reading stories and then making choices. It feels a bit disjointed from the main game, but I suspect it will tie in more as the game progresses. Controls are a little touchy at time with Valve Index controllers. The broadcasts are really funny. I can't really think of any funnier video game that I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I work in corporate video and found this a good VR game giving a really immersive experience for the player. You actually feel like you're running the gallery in a cheap local TV news station. You do actually feel some pressure to get the cues right, cut the best shots to make everything flow smoothly, and bleep out the swearing so you dont get OFCOM knocking the door. You can also review your broadcasts, rushies and adverts which is great as the actual content is pretty funny. A lot of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely good TV editor simulator in dire times. Think of Papers Please, but you run a video mixer. Apparently you can change quite a lot in the story. For VR version you'll most likely want a chair and playspace mover, but the games makes you really immersed, I don't think I would care so much about the characters in flat version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first SteamVR game I've ever encountered that doesn't work on an HP Reverb G2. I had to use ReVive to get it to work, and then it ran like hot wobbly garbage. $25? you must be joking.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For this game to work, you NEED TO use airlink, and you launch it NOT THROUGH STEAM VR, my fellow quest users
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An amazing masterpiece. No matter how hard I tried, I made the wrong choices. Journalism is not easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is one of the funniest games I've played in my life. its brilliant, satirical and spoofs hard on British politics. Theres a lot of bad reviews but im guessing they have optimised it since? Id highly recommend, I was crying and had to stop with the interview with the police...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After reading so many negative reviews, I tried out this game and see if it is as bad as people say. Nope, it is very fun, and works very well! I use an Oculus Pro, and the controls are great, no problems at all. The control for certain things are a little bit sensitive, but once you get the knack of it, it is fine. It is just like playing a video game, sometimes you need a bit of practice to get the bearing on how to work a specific knob on the TV control panel. You gotta be gentle and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ALVR + Oculus Quest 2 / Steam Link + Oculus Quest 2 Hands in the game fall a meter under the floor. In SteamVR the location of controllers is detected correctly. Not playable Руки в игре проваливаются на метр под пол. В SteamVR расположение контроллеров определяется корректно. Играть невозможно
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →literally couldnt play it due to a bug the devs never fixed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →feels more like a vr mod than a commercial vr port, but honestly the core game is so good that it doesn't matter and is well worth it on sale for a solid ~8 hour vr experience. just use quest link instead of virtual desktop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned, controllers bugged out and not fixed in years, only way to play is to switch to the older game version (The flat screen version is a masterpiece however)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is alright, it plays fine other than the interference but, the tracking is so off, and the game requires these portions of the game to be so precise, that when you get to an interference section it just kind of comes down to luck whether you're gonna get past it or not. I've been stuck in the same level for hot minute now due to this issue 😔 I give it a 7/10 though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY!! This game is unplayable, your hands are stuck to the floor and there is no patch to fix it in sight. It’s criminal to even offer this game for sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 / 10 Everyone needs to play this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →couldn't interact with the menu (cannot start the game properly) not showing controllers after starting the game. played on Quest 2
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controller is 1 meter away from the actual position in the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, but some parts feel a little long and repetetive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love seeing the world through the eyes of a television editor. Sucks that I can't play it for the other endings as I'm selling my quest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not For Broadcast VR is the virtual reality adaptation of the acclaimed newsroom satire created by NotGames and co-developed with Babaroga, published by tinyBuild. Building upon the foundation of the original flatscreen release, this VR edition attempts to translate the frantic, morally complex experience of controlling a live television broadcast into a fully immersive, first-person environment. Rather than simply recreating the original game in virtual reality, it restructures the interaction…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was only able to run this through meta quest link since running it straight through steamvr caused my controllers to be underneath the floor. I don't know why this happens and I don't know if it's been patched since there have been no community posts since I bought it but it's too late for me to get a refund so like...yeah. fix your game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like original NFB, but VR port really bad. I literary can't start a game because Y and X axis of controllers be inverted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would have been perfect for VR, but I kept having issues where my hands were spawning below the floor and far ahead of me, making it unplayable. This game needs to be fixed before I can consider buying it again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →while looking to the past in the initial reviews of the game it seems to have had a bad start and this might be because i play using a quest 3 instead of valve index or other traditional headset but i have had no bugs with this game at all, not a single bug (0ther than most of the archive menues crash your game). The menus load in front of me when i load in unlike in previous reviews I've seen and the console automatically loads in front of you at the correct height. Although it is to close to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a game for those that dont want to game and stare at a menu while your hands are below you and is using the wrong axis quest 2 on vitrual desktop streamer and pc hotspot
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great VR TV simulator, I heard about this for a while until I started playing it couple days back. Haven't played the Non-VR version yet but hoping one day the DLC from that gets ported over. Played with Meta Quest 2 via Quest Link Cable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unable to play the game now, there's a bug where your hands start in the floor. Unable to get past the starting menu
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game, but nothing in life is perfect, but what can be done about it is improving things. Every time if the signal gets weaker, and I need to change the soundwave by using the little joystick, sometimes it moves up and messes the entire correction. I get confused by not knowing how to use the little joystick, am I supposed to move my controller like a 2d area or rotate it like normal people do with a joystick? Sometimes I do both and it breaks the immersion. Seconds my virtual hands…
