positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Midnight Fight Express is a top-down John Wick style beat 'em up. I went in expecting a decent indie brawler but came out genuinely impressed by how tight and brutal the combat feels. It's easily one of the most satisfying action games I've ever played. The Positives: [+] Incredibly satisfying combat (Every punch, throw, and disarm feels weighty and impactful, and chaining combos across a room full of enemies never gets old) [+] Skill tree that actually matters (Unlocking new moves changes how…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a solid brawler/beat'em up with a good variety of enemies and cool skills to unlock. Unfortunately about half way in, guns gobble up all the attention. They are the weaker part of the game, you just grab a gun, kill a pack, and use any gun they dropped to kill the next pack and so on. I think its a classic case of "less is more", if the game was shorter but more focused in the fights themselves, it would be a thumbs up, but as it is right now, I feel this is a solid brawler with a weird…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The perfect game for blowing off steam and quickly having fun, just like the good old games. Reminds me Double Dragon, Streets of rage, Die Hard Arcade, and Fighting Force to name a few, but with Batman Arkham combat system. The story makes no sense; it’s just an excuse to revisit popular tropes from games or movies. There are a few spikes in difficulty here and there (for example, with the zombies and the Scorpion Queen), but overall, the game is very satisfying and challenging enough. And the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great pick up and put down kind of game. Has fantastic replay-ability, really fun customization, and the background music ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slaps. Plays perfectly on the deck. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved this game up until they randomly added zombies. The zombies are stupid and ruined your game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got the basic arkham-style combat so well, but everything else is lackluster. it didn't keep me interested for long but it is well made
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What do you get when you combine Batman Arkham style combat with the intensity of Hotline Miami’s close quarters killing sprees? I don’t know, actually. Anyway, Midnight Fight Express is one of the best 3D brawlers I’ve played in a while. The City of Tomorrow has been brought to its knees, under siege by a coordinated attack from the worst street gangs in town, and the only one who can stop them is a sleeper agent only known as Babyface, and the flying drone that has activated him. While the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It always surprises me when a game keeps me engaged by it's music. Due to the perfect blend between combat and music, many people would appreciate this game even if the story is forgettable and the visuals are mediocre. Every time I launch this game, the Mad Dog from The Raid movie wakes up inside me who's here to give personal prostate exams, eat Pad Thai and ask questions later. Also, let me remind you that a single Polish guy made the hand to hand combat feel soo fluid, impactful and jaw…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember when Geoff Keighley showcased Midnight Fight Express? Solo dev Jacob Dzwinel made this all alone, with only twelve of his friends, including four artists. Must have been lonely making a game with just a full football team worth of contributors.
unlabelledView post →The Good Points for style, I guess. Easy to pick up. When the combat works without the janks (which is rare), it is simply a poetry in motion. You can customize your character and there are plenty of options and unlockables to choose from. The Bad Story is simply... meh. Frustrating to master. Getting hit while in the middle of parry animation, unlockable skills that only work 50% of the time, mechanics that aren't explained fully or mix well with each other. Some…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game mechanics and good story. Also the game plays well on Deck. Overall thumbs up recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How that one unathletic guy whos never been in a fight swears he'd be moving
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the coolest games I've ever played.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game on sale because I was looking for something to scratch that Sifu itch. Welp, I guess I should've just played that game again... To be fair, that itch was scratched, sort of. The fighting here is solid enough that, at its peak, it manages to replicate some John Wick-esque moments. It's all very frenetic and well-animated. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, everything else here is blander than hospital food. I'm shocked that other people barely mention the lack of a solid art direction here:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont understand why this game is not known. The gameplay was absolutely insane, story might be a bit weird but the action packed sequences my God. I havent had this so much fun since sifu or batman arkham series 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you haven't tried Sifu yet I would recommend it over this game. Sifu has a masterful sense of rhythm, interaction and flow. Midnight Fight Express feels jagged, insubstantial and somewhat meaningless. It's alright, but very repetitive and samey. On every level Droney (well named) rambles on about some 2 dimensional plot filler which does absolutely nothing but get in the way of action. Trying to jump over a train car? Well better listen to whatever he has to say first. The bit at the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The beat'em up style of this game is actually really fun, and the soundtrack is pretty great. The problem I'm having here is that I can already see just a half hour in that this is a game that forces you to play through multiple times to even have a shot at getting through the challenges, and honestly, I hate that with a passion. So, in a rare twist, I'm giving this a 7/10 but I'm not recommending it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, but overpriced for the content included.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tiny little annoyances throughout the game built up enough for me to not recommend this game. It started out fun, as with melee beat em' ups, you get weapons, you get environmental tools and finishers. Then the stupid things start popping up 1) You cannot accomplish some challenges even though you have done it the first time, like finishing without dying. 2) Some challenges can only be reliably done when you have unlocked something further along the game. 3) Collecting gold teeth seems…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was fun, I appreciated that it didn't over stay over it's welcome. Played well on the Steam Deck. 3/5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun beat 'em up. A true hidden gem for the Steam Deck. Definitely recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dialogue in this game is actually some of the worst I have ever seen. Ever. I know that's a dumb reason to downvote and refund a game, but it is genuinely insufferable. Just play Sifu or Hotline Miami instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely peak game. How is this game not famous. Love it, from the animations to the gameplay. Very addicting. Also you can clearly tell the devs were passionnate about it. So many funny references to memes and honestly very original levels that are very varied. A great attention to detail, and a great player customization and custom levels for the ones that want to play the game even more. Absolutely amazing. 11/10 It's in my all time classics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →everything is good until that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combine harvester level never have i played a level that is so unforgiving and glitchy and plain unfun to do, its beyond skill issue at this point when the game autolocks you to shoot other things and after 4 tries you just have to die, if it went on forever then it would be fine but like i said, its SO unforgiving, you have to play perfectly while preventing the character from running into the harvester by themselves if you stop moving, as well as just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really short fun isometric beat em up. Beat it in 6 hours. Combat is fun and snappy. There are only 1 or 2 badly designed missions. Everything else is neat. I would recommend playing on controller.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily one of the most well thought out and fun top down beat em ups I've ever played. Every challenge is fun to tackle and the levels have a lot of depth and replayability given the chance. I've never had as much fun figuring out and achievement grinding as I have in this game unlocking the cosmetics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game made great impression. Until that scorpio-harvester BS - ruined it all.

unlabelledView post →Listen to me, I normally give up on brawlers after a while and end up hating them. Midnight Fight Express certainly has it's issues and there is one level that really shatters the flow and a boss on a subsequent level that is REALLY annoying, but outside of that, I simply loved this game. It can be a nightmare at times but when you outright master a level it leaves you with a satisfaction that other brawlers just didn't leave me with. This is without question a love letter to Hotline Miami, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Banger of a game reminds me a lot of my friend Pedro. If you were allowed to be John Wick. 10/10 would play again. Hope for a sequel in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the first half it's an enjoyable if sloppy isometric action game cribbing from assassin movies like John Wick, the Raid etc, with touches of Arkham and Hotline Miami. Then it suddenly begins to cram in tons of new factions and enemy types that don't majorly shake up the way you play but do have tedious, pace chopping intros and dialogue. Then it fully runs out of ideas for how to escalate and introduces a bunch of one shot kill enemies, enemies that can only be killed a certain way, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best way to describe this game is as a low-budget version of Sifu. I know that sounds harsh, but I mean it with love. It has the same basic gameplay of a one-man army punching, kicking, and grappling his way through a near-infinite army of goons. But while Sifu takes itself pretty seriously, this game doesn’t. It’s all blood, gore, humor, and good fun. The kind of game that’s perfect when you just want to switch off your brain and punch things. There’s about 9 hours of playtime, more or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game on sale for $5 and for that price point I can recommend it! Combat can be complex with a lot of combos and takedowns, weapons, etc. ALSO the music I really enjoyed the soundtrack for this game and thought it was perfect. I did also enjoy a lot of the references to other games. I also played this on steam deck and had no issues whatsoever! Performance was amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →too expensive for game with free assets, made in Unity and My Friend Pedro story-like. obviously not worth it. only OST is good
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Game!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinetic and relentless, the equivalent of playing a high octane action movie. “Midnight Fight Express” surprises with its reliable, intricate, accessible and yet deeply satisfying fighting mechanics, while managing to be irreverent but not lazy. A must-try dripping with epicness, from its soundtrack to its level design.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beating people is fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is entertaining and honestly that is all a game has to be at the end of the day. I never really felt at the edge of my seat or anything but it was fun, and sometimes I forget that not every experience I play has to blow me away. The game does nothing wrong, if anything I have to say the game is perfectly average, the music is great though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came across this game in a YouTube round-up of great Steam Deck games, and, since it has combat very similar to the Batman Arkham games (the greatest beat-em-up games ever made, IMO), I gave it a shot. Really glad I did, I've been playing it on my Steam Deck every day for a week, and replaying all of the levels (even before finishing the game) to complete challenges. There are some really frustrating levels and challenges, but if all you want is a fun beat-em-up to burn through, you can do…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game gives strong Sleeping Dogs and John Wick vibes. The story twist wasn’t super surprising, but it’s still fine. The real star is the gameplay — smooth, stylish, satisfying — and the soundtrack fits perfectly, making the whole experience feel like watching an action movie. A very fun ride.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Midnight Fight Express is a frenetic, stylish brawler that embraces the chaos of street-level combat with an energy few indie action games manage to capture. From the moment you step into the shoes of Babyface, a former criminal dragged back into the underworld by a mysterious talking drone, the game commits to its vision of a night spiraling out of control. The setup is deliberately simple: stop a citywide criminal uprising before dawn. The straightforward narrative is little more than a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game isn't something special, the story isn't very interesting and it's chock full of references to every other video game ever, but you know what? It's not too in your face like other games, the combat is smooth and the music is perfect for kicking ass and going on a murder spree without getting hit, thank you Noisecream for those cool beats! The game offers challenges and other difficulties to try out which makes it not just a one and done kind of deal, I like it, It's solid, I can't say…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually okay, maybe 6/10, but tries to do way too much, and ends up not doing any of it exceptionally. It could have been a cool Hotline Miami-like beat-em-up but the weird Quirk Chungus sardonic self-aware dialogue takes you out of the game immediately. A lot of the moves and abilities you don't even need because mashing the attack button and pressing the occasional counter will get you through most of the fights. At least a third of the game could have been cut (the driving, the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 John Wick simulator. Game that makes you say hell yeah

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Midnight Fight Express is a fun 3D isometric beat 'em up. In a lot of ways, it’s a love letter to games like Sleeping Dogs and Sifu, at least to me. The combat is exceptional and the highlight of the game. It’s heavy, fast, and extremely satisfying. The game ran solidly on my Steam Deck, but I instantly stopped playing because I wanted to experience it on better hardware, like the Lenovo Legion Go 2 or the ONEXFLY F1 Pro, especially on their dark, black, and crispy OLED panels. Anyways, I can't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty simple beat'em up that reminds me of- "HEY! It's me! Droney the drone! I'm gonna be your guide through this game! Push buttons to do stuff!" Um, ok. Well, there's a story here that loosely ties together rooms of people to- *WOOOOSH* NEW ENEMY TYPE: Smooglibums *WOOOOOSH* Droney: "Whoa buddy! Look out! The Smooglibums are gonna try to kill you! They're bad and your a bad guy too but I activated you sleeper-cell merc for to do good! Let's go!" Smooglibums: "Hey, it's you. You're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick arcade combat fun but with a few downsides. - graphics are blocky and are clearly reused assets, makes the game feel cheap - keyboard controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and WASD feels weird with the isometric perspective: pressing W actually moves you up and right on the screen - achievements are a pain and very repetitive to obtain - gameplay gets old quick. Good in small doses I guess. If you like this sort of game, get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game. Passed the whole campaign within 6.4h and extremely satisfied! That's 8/10 It has nice fight controls, impressive sound design and music, a huge variety of move sets and finishing combos for such an indie masterpiece. The tutorial is nice - the skill tree is slowly introducing player to the new mechanics and combos and lets the player decide which mechanic is needed right now. The visuals are nice! The particles, vfx - graphics overall is simple yet doesn't make you tired after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To those who think the last 20 chapters are bad: this is a beat 'em up, not a Soulslike.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →way better than bad but keyboard and mouse feels like an afterthought. along with that you can't perform multiple actions at once or transition from one thing to another without entering a neutral state first. example being you cant sprint and roll you just have to let off sprint then roll. you also cant guard and roll and before i figured all of that out it just felt like I couldn't guard a lot of the time in which case I might have been sprinting, so you can't cancel your sprint by hitting…
