positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i hate this game so much. it is terrible. do NOT play isaac unless you hate yourself and want to be addicted to the fun gameplay loop
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game makes me want to rip my eyes out. It is a chronically painful, rage-inducing experience with way too many characters to play and somehow every run manages to find a new way to make me angry. I genuinely wouldn’t recommend this game to my worst enemy. I’d rather recommend stapling the webbing of your hands to your desk than willingly putting yourself through some of the pain this game delivers. 1/10 — absolutely miserable. I’ll probably play it again tomorrow.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →STOP PLAYING! I am not someone who has played this game for many years. I completed Flash Isaac in a month or two a year ago, then I bought Rebirth and all DLCs on the Summer Sale 2025. I knew this game was bigger, but I was nowhere near the actual scale. 722 items, 188 trinkets, 34 characters and also cards, runes, pills, transformations, bosses… man, this game is humongous. There are depths which aren't explored by even the most dedicated players. Nevertheless, all this variety doesn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if they added estrogen to the Binding of Isaac item pool itd break the game bc immediately isaac would no longer try to kill himself in the chest and instead become more religiously neurotic except in a tgirl swag kinda way
unlabelledView post →Remembered today that there's a 100% officially licensed game, Crystal Crisis, where Umihara Kawase crosses over with Astro Boy and, freakin, Isaac from The Binding of Isaac
unlabelledView post →Twice I completed every achievement (yes, 2 different accounts) Thrice I ascended to Dead God. And still I return to the basement… willingly. I’ve seen more room layouts than my actual house. Half my decisions in life are now based on whether they feel like a Devil Deal or an Angel Deal. I adore this chaotic masterpiece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game changed my fliggin life bruh especially the part where Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill it was insane
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is honestly kind of fun, and I can definitely see myself or other people sinking a bunch of hours into it. The aesthetic is cool, and the music is nice as well. However, the game is riddled with far too many abysmal design decisions that make it genuinely annoying and miserable to play for long stretches. Hostile to casuals and the 500-hour slog The game is extremely hostile to casuals. You cannot just play on normal difficulty and experience everything it has to offer. You are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →finally, everything. i have unlocked every item, ending, secret, trinket, game mechanic, consumable, and more. nearly 400 hours of my life have been dedacted to this. i have killed god.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best roguelike to exist, after buying this you wont need any other game for a very long time

unlabelledView post →this game is SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HORRIBLE, i hate it so much, theres no balancing, no fairness, no fun. This game grabs you by the ankles, dangles you, and beats the ♥♥♥♥ out of you every time you dare press launch. most fun ive ever had
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am rather annoyed that Dust: An Elysian Tail isn't as famous as it should be. It's a fun action game done almost entirely by one man with gorgeous art, awesome music, and charming characters. This game should be talked about in the conversations as Cave Story, The Binding of Isaac and Undertale.
unlabelledView post →Pretty cool game! I got the 1 in a million upgrade where Isaac starts shooting his sticky white tears everywhere
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →China is already a top 3 region for Mewgenics in terms of sales, primarily due to the prior popularity of The Binding of Isaac The game received a fan made AI translation within a few hours of release, while an official Simplified Chinese localization is now in the works according to the developer
unlabelledView post →I know this game is widely praised, but it never really clicked with me. As someone who enjoys roguelikes such as Hades and Slay the Spire, I expected to get hooked after a few runs. Instead, I never reached the point where I felt excited to start "just one more run." To the game's credit, it is highly thematic. The world has a very distinct identity and fully commits to its vision. Unfortunately, that vision revolves around themes of suffering, abuse, misery, bodily humor, and dark comedy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry for pirating this game when I was younger Mr. McMillen, it won't happen again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lazy Mattman got me into this game, and it is absolutely great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game where you must as a naked 5 years old child cry on poops ad beat up your mother with your tears. basically the best game ever made.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →big big big and good and big big isaa good isac good forgoeen good good azel good. lazerusz bad jacob bad esau good good moth. good good andftaher good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone that despises and hates roguelikes with a deep passion, I have to say, TBOI Rebirth is pretty fun, especially with the characters and the items. The bosses and enemies are pretty fun to deal with as well....except for one particular abomination that I cannot forgive Edmund for: adding The Bloat. #RemoveTheBloat #IHateTheBloat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is like a toxic relationship and will cause you crippling distress and anger but its fun get it (get repentance)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Binding of Isaac store page describes the game as "a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements". It's not "A roguelike" because in 2011, the term hadn't fully proliferated yet as a genre. Instead, it has "heavy Rogue-like elements", i.e. gameplay inspired by Rogue.
unlabelledView post →Killed mom. Killed mom's heart. Killed Satan. Killed a literal beast that represents the collective trauma of a child's broken home. Normal Tuesday. This game has eaten more hours of my life than sleep deprivation and I regret nothing. Every run feels different, every death teaches you something and every win makes you feel like an actual genius, until the next run humbles you back into the dirt immediately. The items alone could fuel a PhD thesis. Somehow combining a dead cat, a spoon bender…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best game ever created, praise Edmund McMillen I love you so much.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2344+ hours of replayability PLUS workshop characters and items and quality of life stuff makes this game endless fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Infinite possibilities. I'm nearly 150 hours in and I feel like I've only scratched the surface of what's possible in this game.

unlabelledView post →After more than 1,600 hours poured into The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, I can say this without hesitation: this is not just one of the best roguelites ever made: it is one of the greatest video games of all time. My relationship with Isaac predates Rebirth. I was there in the original The Binding of Isaac era, when the game was rough, unbalanced, and already brilliant. Watching it evolve through The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Afterbirth, and finally Afterbirth+ has been like witnessing a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 Had this in my library for years!!! Never touched it, man what I've missed such a good rouglike with so so many build variants. Really cool game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never in my life have i played a video game that has thrown me in such levels of despair such as TBOI. It is worse than any form of slavery that has ever happened. I would rather drag my testicles through piping hot sand than play this game anymore than I already have. Haemolacroea or however the ♥♥♥♥ you spell it is a cursed item that dooms your run. I hate you edmund. You have ruined my life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll be entirely honest, this is my favorite game of all time. The gameplay loop is so damn fun, and the items you get are so fun to play with too. The synergies you get feel incredible. The characters are well balanced. I recommend this to anyone who likes roguelikes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The most popular mod for this game is just to tell you what the items do. The low-information style is a choice for game design, and it's implemented very poorly here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game that stands out from other Rougelikes/lites: - Unique gameplay with certain items, like Tech X, Brimstone, ect. - Gambling - Wide range of characters and playstyles (just don't choose Lazarus, we, yes WE, all hate him) - Child abuse - Milk - Deep story - Cheap - Going directly to hell - Kind community
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks like it's for kids but it's not for kids so if you let your kids play it you're a bad parent and they should take your kids away.

unlabelledView post →this game is genuinely a masterpiece now, the first few runs, icl its not the most fun, but I PROMISE, TRUST THE PROCESS, JUST BEAT THE FIRST BOSS AND IT WILL GET AMAZING (doesn't take that long, please i PROMISEEE) i love this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much, i love it with all my heart, and the story is surprisingly beautiful, please just give it a try :] you wont regret it <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a masterpiece, it's one of the best rogue likes I've ever played. However, the multiplayer is a completely broken piece of ♥♥♥♥ it constantly desyncs and the fact that you can't rejoin on a floor means reconnectingis a pain in the ass. It is extremely frustrating after a long run to get desynced and to have the host have to go through the floor alone with half the items because they were split between the two players. Please fix the desync issue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Binding of Isaac has been consistently in my life for a long time. Even after getting dead god a couple of years ago. I keep coming back to it. It will always be one of my favourite games of all time. I have always been facinated by religious history and themes. The game hits the nail on the head with its artstyle and story related to it. The binding of Isaac has this incredibly eerie but at the same time hilarious atmosphere, with Isaac changing forms and looking more and more disgusting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow I 100%'ed it. I don't like long gaming sessions of anything really, but this game regularly caused me to spend hours every day, unlocking new items, characters or just looking for fun runs. The game offers a recognizable soundtrack and a very broad selection of items, which you will become familiar with quickly, yet never find it repetitive. You have the freedom as a player - you don't like a character? Don't play it. You don't want to finish an annoying challenge? Don't finish it.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have not played Mewgenics yet but The Binding of Isaac is basically a game about several hundred Freudian hyperfixations

unlabelledView post →It's past 4:30am on a Monday night. I just finally beat the Final Final Boss for the first time with one of the game's many characters. Only Ending I'm missing is the Ultra Greed one which requires a lot of grinding of the Greed Mode. 130h of my playtime have been put into the game just in the past month after I bought the DLCs on Steam sale. Which is not at all healthy. Time to uninstall. But for how long? Edit: 3 weeks, 8 or so reinstalls and uninstalls, and maybe 40h of gameplay later, I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To review this game, I have to ask you a question first: have you ever played Spleunky? If you are familiar with the game, you may be wondering why I'm discussing Spelunky, a 2D action-platformer roguelike, in a review for The Binding of Isaac, a top-down dungeon-crawler roguelike. You may be wondering what these two drastically different games have in common beyond their roguelike heritage. To that, I answer with another question: you know how Spelunky hates you? Like, hates you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so good that I'm kind of mad at my friends for not putting me onto this game day 1. Probably one of the best games of all time. This is one of those rare games I would buy for full price. The amount of content is genuinely staggering. I could probably play this game for another 200 hours, and it's one of the only games I would ever try to 100%. I'm not as big into games as I used to be, but this game has captured my attention in a way only legendary games like Spelunky 2 and Dark…
