There is nothing much new, in fact this game has too many bugs which makes it unplayable. Developers say that the game will leave early access soon, I'm not sure how this game can leave early access like this. * After my comments on the discussion forum I was banned by the developers because they did not like my opinion. I own…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really? They are still using directx9 for the game. It's Just a copy of the previous one with exact the same problems. Only difference is that now you have m.g. unit's. Actually I could have done the same with the editor of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What kind of world war game is it when the war never happens? The diplomacy needs to be fixed before this game is worthwhile. I played twice now building up my forces, preparing for the war, and then the assassination happens and they never go to war. Also if you are a power like Italy, you can never gain favor with any of the major allies and can never join the alliance. Another stupid thing is that you have a minor power almost beat, you have most of their provinces, then you offer great…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a wonderful upgrade to the previous "The Great War", better graphics and new stuff like mines, techs and events, so if you like any of the other in the making history series, this one is a very nice catch already
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a re-skin of their previous Making History: The Great War with a much worse soundtrack. I couldn't take the soundtrack anymore so I quit to write this. If you have the old version, you don't need this one unless slightly (and I mean slightly) better graphics are worth $25 to you. If you have neither and want to try one, I guess get this one since it is somehow less money than the old one or just get whichever one goes on sale first.

unlabelledView post →It appears to be nice and a good game, but "out of memory"-crash is making it impossible to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very old design, very little explanation of what you're supposed to do, and it's just generally not very user-friendly. I'll revisit it when it's out of early access. EDIT: Still crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really solid improvement on a game series that was already quite good. Massively expanded event list, unit health system, more unit types, greater use of terrain modifiers, and attrition damage really add so much to the game's fun historic play style.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there is potential but so far it's unstable and the combat/war mechanics feel too stiff and not anything more than Paradox-style meters going back and forth. The diplomatic/events system has cool features but running your country isn't a very fun experience thus far for me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good mix between a Hearts of Iron and a CIv, with a ton a unique game features (the logistic system is my personnal favorite). If you have enough patience to handle the steep learning curve (mostly because of a minimal tutorial, no youtube videos to learn from and an atrocious UI), you will find an extremely satisfying/rewarding grand strategy game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not recommended does not mean it a no fun game, i am just pissed that it crashes so often with an error most out of memory
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really quite terrible. Nothing is intuitive. You can balance your economy, hit end turn, and suddenly your coal goes from +5 a turn to -20. I didn't build anything, no trades were canceled, war isn't even going so my trade routes aren't being raided. Every resource fluctuates wildly like that. I played the first 100 hours of the game and more of a logic puzzle, trying to figure out what makes things do what. Even when it lists it: 10 coal and 10 metal make 10 steel, at least half…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those that loved The Second world War this is a great upgrade, with better graphics. Love the addition of the machine gun unit. Runs faster and bigger screen size which helps get a bigger picture of what is all going on. So far my only negative is the 300 turn limit with everything taking so long to build would be nice for a longer turn limit editor is not ready yet can't wait to see all the mods once the game is fully finished.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there is one reason why, above all other grand strategy titles i've played in the past: i've always come back to the making history series and even bought more general licenses of it then i can possibly recount,in sheer support of the dev team. its a very simple reason but it makes all the difference: the making history series: Atleast those i've played from muzzy lane's great war onwards: are the only games i've seen that get how Empires of the late 19th and early 20th century would control…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was an ok game until turn 220. It wont save, it just fails the save. I'll be taking my world ambitions to a more polished game, this is unplayable after turn 220. And dont let the long hours fool you, its from being idle with the laptop on, i played one country to turn 220 and called it quits.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great turn based strategy game, even if it is still in early access. Having the ability to play many sides, or even historically neutral countries, makes this a far reaching and ultimately replayable game. I have also very much enjoyed their WWII sim as well. One of the things I've liked about Factus games in the past is that they refine and update their products far longer then most companies seem to, except of course for those pay-to-play companies that have more incentive to keep you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pure garbage, and that's coming from someone who enjoys anything WW1 Updates are slow and basically empty. China makes German hardware? Ok cool... how about all the bugs? No? I'm not going to go into detail, I'm just going to tell you that I bought this 3 years ago and still regret it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played Making History series for many years. The First World War has many developments after The Great War, including a more clever AI player and more history events. However I still think this game have several problems: 1, Out of Memory. I have faced this problem since Making History 2. After 200 turns this happens nearly every 2 turns, which makes the late game unplayable. In recent games on a laptop with win 10 system and 4060 GPU it even crash at second turn. I tried to modify my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →questionable if this can even be called a game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Longtime fan of the Franchise and this I think has been my favorite game yet, I got it before it was "finished" and got a deal on it too, they've done a good job with all the new events in it which makes it more interesting to play as there's a lot more random chance with how things play out, mechanics of it work pretty well, I still get some bugs now and again, I find it way to easy to get sucked in and "one more turn" turns into about 20, especially when in battle. Recommendations: 1. a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the time being, thumbs up, awaiting fixes. Well the early access definitely has some bugs. I'm hoping that they get fixed in short order. Let me describe how I got to them. I played about 80 turns as the United States. Found that while the in game tutorial tries to explain a lot, but it is sorely lacking in explaining just how to do things you want to do, like producing units, or how to load them onto transports. The GUI is not very intuitive, but I did find that the looking up the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played as Great Britain. Stayed out of the war and built up until 1916. Wiped the floor of Europe, like a boss. Russians get all commie on me. They start steam rolling me. Moved to defense and continued to beef up 1918, steam roll Russian Commies with tanks and marines. 1919, take over Russian. British power supreme. Go for another game. Look at save file. It's an xml? Moar power! Go Britain again. Edit save file. So you want to conquer the U.S.? Yes. Total war against me. Use Canada to…

unlabelledView post →Unplayabley buggy. Crashes to desktop after the first 148 turns I spent learning the game. it would be a good game if it werent completely worthless because of crashes. I meant to buy their other game with almost the exact same title and is apparently basically this same game. Evil company to repackage an old game but with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs that make it unplayable I hate you for wasting my time ♥♥♥♥ off
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically one of the better world war one strategy simulator games. Needs a bit more dev support but it has replayability and historical accuracy down pretty solid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's hard to find some strategic game who don't try to simplify everything in order to access a wide public range. If you enjoyed Victoria 2 - Supreme Ruler or some AGEOD game this is the right game for you. Nice work guys.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but it seems like Germany is screwed no matter what I do
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played a lot of Grand Strategy games previously, mostly Paradox Games, but this is my first of the Making History games. The good: - Industry is a lot of fun to manage. The resource, factory, infrastructure systems interlock well. - Combat - Events The bad: - minor inconvenience with diplomacy. Allies not letting giving me land access. Playing as Austria-Hungary I was conquering Greece land. The land was given to the Ottomans so I was in Ottoman land yet they wouldn't give me access.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming from the other making history games this one is way to over complicated and way to much micro mangment for my taste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great. The best of it's kind in my opinion. The only problem is the "out of memory" error. Which would probably be fixed with a very easy patch for game to be able to use more of the system ram. I hope this issue which comes along for years can be solved. The game should be in the library for all and can be played in every couple of years :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE SOUNDTRACK IS TORTURE, and I don't mean poorly chosen music. I am a guitar player, and have been in many jam sessions where you would sit and play and everyone would take turns with rhythm and lead, and things would go fine until one guy, and you know it before he even touched the guitar, but he would pick it up and start to strike whatever notes he felt like. It would be in the wrong key. Notes would be off. The tempo would swing wildly in every direction. Every technique they attempted…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an excellent example of diplomatic , economic and military combination. You must control in a positive way both areas to be a winner. This game does not exactly follow historic events at times. This adds in a question of what can happen and makes you stay prepared for differences. You can make treaties and alliances with countries that did not happen historically. This can change events for the rest of the game. The economic challenge of industry, food supply, and mining is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashes saying no memory but i have loads of memory so i think its the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sad piano is what brings me back... In all seriousness, I think this game and the whole in the series need is a way to make production go by a lot faster. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I would either sit around and wait for someone to finish microing their factories, infra, etc, and we'd just sit around, OR like in making history the Second world war, the game would crash due to memory on any of our computers, and we'd have to restart the game because it wouldn't save in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Making history 2 is much better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost identical to second world war but with a little bit refinement. you won´t notice much but the mobilization feature is pretty neat. it´s a good game well worth its price. a mix of hearts of iron and RISK.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: 7/16/23 Pros: - The difficulty slider made the game more challenging. Clearly the AI needed an edge. - The game is enjoyable to play but it is held back by an antiquated game engine and persistent memory errors. - It is a 'beer and pretzels game like risk, easy to learn. Don't expect a lot of depth or historical accuracy. - Graphics are colorful but nothing spectacular. Some of the unit models sport unique uniforms, but it is a shame that this wasn't done across the board. -…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the comprehensive nature of this game, which highlights economic decisions as the basis of military power. There remains huge opportunity to develop and improve this game, which I intend to support loyally.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great turn based strategy game that so far has had no bugs (at least not game breaking ones) that i have stumbled upon, and is also fairly historically accurate (i'm no historian but i at least know a little).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You need to run economy, build military and be diplomatic. Trade can be very important depending on your resource situation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun, accessible strategy game. Can't wait to see how it develops.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update of Making History The Great War. Same basic mechanics of game play. New units, graphics, events, make it worth the price. Still in early access, one scenario available. Developers seem responsive to user comments and suggestions. Looking forward to the next scenario and continued updates
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More time, about 90%, is spent with what is going on in other areas and 10% in your own area, it is so **** frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unable to sync with my cloud, meaning I can never save games. I can never enjoy the fruits of my labour.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MHTFW is a undeniable improvement on its predecessor. In particular regarding the Editor function for modding. As I said in my MHTSW review these games are a excellent mix of niche strategy and grand strategy put together well in a that compliments each other well while providing a cosmetic and atmospheric effect that is unique to the Making History series. It is my most sincere hope that this series continues for as long as it can, cheers!!! ;)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a small improvement on the previous World War One game but honestly just barely. I feel like the AI is a lot more stable compared to the previous game (They don't immediately fall apart), but that's probably all the positives I have. Pretty fun game but the save system for this game is still god awful and the constant "Out of Memory" (Which btw I believe are caused by having too much save files/playing a long session) crashes are still prevalent. It's disappointing because I can…
