Lucius Demake
Developer Shiver Games
Lucius game has been demade, and is now ready for mayhem. Enjoy all the gore now in fewer pixels and fewer colors. The original game has been fully demade to achieve the atmosphere of an 80's style gory adventure. Lucius is now killing all the pixels and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it. But if you're like me and never played through the original games, then Lucius Demake is an amazing satanic puzzle game with great music, atmosphere, and a huge house full of people who's lives are shorter than they know. I'll admit I had to look up a couple parts online, and the "boss battles" took me a few tries, but overal Lucius Demake is a great game that I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game breaking bug where the game skips the first chapter and you miss out on being able to grab a key item that you need to finish a later mission. Disappointing that this happened because everything else about the game is quite enjoyable.

A mostly narrative experience where you're in control of the devil's son! No third person adventuring in the mansion, no... straight up to the fun part where you murder a maid and blame someone else for it. If you're not familiar with Lucius, this is a "demake" of the game where you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucius Demake is a re-imagining of the first Lucius games, now being inspired by the Commodore 64 era games. Story: You play as Lucius. Born on June 6th 1966, he is seemingly a normal child, but on his 6th birthday he has a visit from his true father, who explains his true calling and a plan he has in store for you goes into effect. The story of Lucius Demake is identical to the original game and nothing is changed. The story overall is decent and it has some really cool moments, but overall…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a "De-make" of the Lucius franchise of grim puzzle/adventure games where you must diabolically murder people you don't like. "De-makes" are where the game gets remade, only badly, on purpose. If that sounds like a pretty dumb idea, then you're right. The game features ugly retro pixel graphics, 4:3 aspect ratio, and an ugly screen filter, so it's far beneath minimum acceptable standard for PC. On purpose, apparently. Also the developer chose to map gaming peripherals (HOTAS,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, I don't know how much value the game has as a stand-alone title. I mean that I played the original version first, and I kinda consider this a DLC to it, where I breezed through the game just for kicks! Storywise it is identical to the original. The only difference is, obviously, its presentation. Curiously, it plays perfectly in this form too, if not even better. (I had some framerate issues with the original, this one was smooth sailing all the way). The pixel graphics in fact…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming game that seamlessly blends horror with absurd humor. You take on the role of a little cute devil, spreading chaos in a retro pixelated world. Amusing animations and humorous interactions make every moment with Lucius pure joy. Definitely worth playing, especially for those who’ve played the past games but never explored the world of the retro pixels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A polished retro adventure game; an excellent story narriative. Game contains scenes of explicit violence, but the situations are cartoonish and mostly palletable. Technically, there are minor issues running Lucius Demake on linux systems. The sound is purposely poor with the putt-putt-putt of walking and ding-ding-ding or dialogue, but the background music loops are pretty good chiptunes that match the spirit of the game well. The story line is dark, well written, and even sometimes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly the demake is a big upgrade, fixing pretty much every problem I had with the original. The new vintage art style fits the game a lot better in my opinion, and the simplistic death scenes are both amusing and somehow a lot more chilling then in the original. This game is simple and fun. I really felt like I was playing a classic old school horror game that I had found mysteriously hidden somewhere in my house. Overall, I recommend this game whether you’ve played the original or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The demake is definitely a total remake of Lucius 1 and is pixelated beyond repair. Repair in the sense in terms of gameplay, there is nothing new except for some added boss fights and sneaking out at night. Even the title screen looks simillar to Lucius 1 and the developers haven't even bothered to make the game creative. Yes, I did know that it was lucius 1 all over again, I played all of the Lucius games so far, and this one was very disappointing. I at least expected some additional…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is basically the first game remade in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics from 1990 consoles. To be fair the games from that era where actually good compared to this garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unironically the best of the 4 Lucius games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucius Demake is exactly the "same" as the first Lucius. The only difference is the pixel graphics from the 80s Commodore 64 and "some aspects" from the Atari 2600. The soundtrack is quite macabre and creepy. People speak through text (OBVIOUSLY, RIGHT?), But what's missing is people reacting with text during Lucius's executions before the "accidental death photo." The rest... ABSOLUTELY THE DEVIL'S CINEMA. Brilliant!! Congratulations to the team that made this game! My rating for Lucius Demake…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucius Demake well to tell you I am a good bit conflicted. On one hand this is just the first game in Pixel/Retro form, but on the other hand in a lot of ways this is the better version of the two. But let’s start with the story. This is a remake of the first game which I have already reviewed, but if you have not read it here is the story. You play as Lucius AKA the antichrist; it is up to you to do your real father’s biding and give him souls and to get stronger. There is not a lot to say…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can´t belive I´ve made it 100% within 2 hours, while the original Lucius want to make me play for nothing for 40 hours. I played it after finishing the original Lucius, so scroll more if you want to find comment about first impression. Demaked Lucius has less bugs, easier to navigate and to find items, since they have a different style and you don´t have to shearch in furnitures much. Overall I find it better, because of it´s limits being a pixel game, it makes the Lucius story more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't have de-made it better [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/218640/Lucius/]Lucius was by no means a terrible game, but it suffered from being a little clunky with cutscenes and scripted events that felt a little too drawn out. It was being held back by only a handful of elements in its mechanics and presentation. In this regard, the devil was in the details I suppose. Unexpectedly, giving the game a graphical downgrade was actually massively beneficial for the game design and…

Now - the young Antichrist must pave the way for his father from Hell - bloody sacrifices, the approaching Apocalypse! Pros: + Visual style + Achievements + Trading cards + The plot repeats the original game Minuses: - Possible bugs spoiling the passage. Total: A quality remake of the original game. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good lo-fi game. I didn't play the original before this so the mansion layout can be confusing. Very entertaining if you're into slashers and horror. Definitely worth the money. The soundtrack is impressive considering how minimalistic it all is. The story seems to be abrupt. I think they could've pumped more text into it. Text is very cheap and the game definitely shouldn't simply be an advertisement for the main game itself. This Demake can very well stand on its own very strongly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really must say that this is even a better version of the original Lucius game back from 2012 - but mind, that this is still the same game, just with an oldschool look. I loved it, although I never played on a gameboy. Great music and charming art style.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept of the "demake" is interesting to me. In some ways, I think I enjoy this version of Lucius than the original. How far can you devolve a game and have it still be the same game? Which mechanics do you retain and how do you implement them? If nothing else, Lucius Demake is an entertaining exercise in creativity; one I wish we could see more of overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played Lucius I and love it so much. I have tried Lucius II and just finished this version of the game. It is exactly like Lucius I but with an 8-bit feel. I have completed 100% of the achievements, collected 100% of the cards, and created a badge. This game is actually fun and enjoyable. If you like Lucius, it's worth a try. Good luck, guys!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique concept - the dev took their 3D title Lucius (a darkly comic game based on The Omen) and "demade" it with pixel graphics. Surprsingly, it got better reviews. Would be interesting to see more games try this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucius Demake is pretty much Lucius with pixel graphics. Although Lucius Demake isn't as creepy due to the pixel graphics. He reminds me of Damion from the Omen movies. The story is very well-done and interesting. The music is spot on and the sounds are mostly good, kind of retro feel. You play as a mute little boy who seems to be the spawn of Satan. He compels Lucius to kill people and being a good little demon spawn, Lucius obeys. Lucius kills people in a wide variety of ways with many…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played the first lucius on console and I ultimately enjoyed the gameplay more than the story, of course the story had some nice development and is far more superior than the second lucius, it wasnt as engaging as I'd hoped. So when I saw this game on sale for 0.99 I had to pick it up and see what the fuss was all about, I wasnt expecting much and I first thought it was just a quick cash grab, however I was suprised to see that this game was very polished, from the outstanding pixle art…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 8 / 10 ⭐ Lucius Demake is a clever retro reinterpretation of the original Lucius, reimagined in a classic 2D pixel art style. The demake approach works surprisingly well and gives the game a unique identity compared to the main entry. The gameplay is simple and straightforward, focusing on puzzles and progression rather than complexity. The pixel visuals and old-school presentation add charm, especially if you enjoy retro styled horror or demakes in general. It’s not very long and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty much a simplification of the first Lucius game that doesn't really go into more detail. I suggest playing the actual game than play this if you're looking for a more in depth explanation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as charming as the original yet also different in a good way. I really love the recreated still screens it adds so much more of a visceral visual, adding a bit more fear to Lucius' actions. All in all a good time if you already love the original.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Little boy goes on a killing spree in a mansion. The owners and staff of the mansion are OBLIVIOUS. Still have not figured out why it is called DEMAKE. Trips me out. Good game still!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very good Demake. It's pretty much the original game but 2d. The soundtrack is to die for, I cant get over the intro music. Finished in about 3 hours, took the extra time to get all the achievements.(pyromaniac has some bugs and won't let you collect the achievement but it ended up working the next day I got on) Is very much worth if you are a fan of the series. MEGA WORTH if you get on sale.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Lucius" actually work better as a retro style pixel game than the original did, though I enjoyed that far more than I probably should. This is a more cohesive and less buggy game, and the puzzles work better in this format. And the violence, gore and nudity is marvelously hilarious in all its pixelated glory! It's a very cute little game. You better do those bossfights flawlessly though, unforgiving!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Retro pixel game and the style of it is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - RPGMaker&Topdown Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Behind the grim Lucius concept is just a very primitive looking and sounding puzzle game in which you have to use guides or trial and error to get to any progress.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The son of Lucifer has risen again. I mean, it's a silly 8 bit game, including all the clunkiness and back and forth gameplay you'd expect from such, but clever enough to make it acceptable to deal with. The demon powers are more a tool for puzzle solving than mischief making but, it works. My biggest complaint is the game was definitely designed with a controller in mind. Even with limited key remapping the keyboard controls are awkward and a bit cumbersome. Perhaps if you could also remap…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Taking a game and demaking it to look and play like a Commodore 64 game was a bit of a headscratcher for me. I didn't hate the idea, I was just wondered to myself if this was aimed at anyone in particular, a desperate bid to revive the franchise after Lucius 2 was a disappointment or if Shiver games just decided to make it for fun. That was until I started playing it. After adjusting the controller setup so I could use the D-pad to move, I found Lucius Demake to be a huge improvement from the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now this is how you demake a game! Lucius Demake brings the original Lucius game to the 16-bit style. And honestly, it does that job pretty well. The original was clunky, but had gruesome deaths. The demake is much simpler, but that works in it's favor, because the gameplay is more limited and streamlined. Using your powers can be tricky at times, though. In the end, i had more fun with this version. The only thing that's missing is the death scenes, they just don't have the same graphical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia for those who played 2012 version of the game could be improved as it had some great potential things. I wished there were some hints(indicator or somesort) about which tools I should use for each objecive to make mission more intuitive. The control for journal was somewhat awkward as I tried to flip page on one journal it kept jumping between different bookmarks. I learned mind telemove objects and I stucked at the locked door with Tom asked me not to come in.
