In terms of gameplay mechanics, they also stuck with the predecessor from 2019 and I thought that was already outdated back then. You start as blackguard mercenaries, under the first campaign option, who have to plunder or capture settlements to survive. I really really want to like this game 100%, and if anything changes soon, I will happily change my review... If it doesn't get fixed in a week or two I will not update this review. However its not enough to hold the game up alone and there fore a gimmick. It looks good and I had no issues with stuttering. The bad. The game crashes inexplicably, at a rate of once per hour for me (3x in 3 hours). The last time it crashed, it did so catastrophically, and I had to hard reboot my machine. Maybe this can be fixed in future updates, but as of now I am not going to continue playing if I have to deal with that.

The map is big, and just watching your little knights march around dealing with rebellions and naval invasions honestly never gets old. Requested the Byzantine Empire to be playable on Wednesday, Thursday they responded to tell me they were adding them to the next patch.
