57 of 57 · most liked firstDespite the thumbs down this isn't a bad game and I might play some more of it to unlock a few more things. There are two reasons I give can't recommend this game. Having only played three hours I can feel this game is too grindy and I will probably get tired of it before I "finish" it. I have played lots of roguelites/roguelikes and lots of turn based games. Both genres need to work harder to keep things fresh and interesting than other types of game. Each of my three runs felt very samey.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like a very stripped down version of XCOM with quickly slapped on roguelite elements. However, every game with the same basic mechanics (XCOM, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Gears of War Tactics, etc) has a much better character/unit progression and more fun gameplay than this one. In Ruin Raiders, every fight feels the same, and rogue elements don't add much to the game since all upgrades and items you get only add some new bonuses instead of changing the way you play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my first turn based roguelike and so far i can say that is so easy to learn step by step and so enjoyable. The game explains everything u have to know and then u can learn by urself. I have played a whole run and it was an amazing experience.

Yes, you can miss at point blank like XCOM. Raiding time! [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/] Follow our curator for similar games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the worst decisions I've ever seen a roguelite make: "your level is capped by your HQ upgrades. Your characters won't progress until you dump currency into unlocking their ability to level up" Three floors of "max level" samey combat at level 2, and I didn't save up enough currency to unlock level 3. A literal hour of gameplay, with 0 progress, and near 0 fun. The grind would be tolerable if the gameplay were good, but it's the most watered down, uninteresting take on xcom mechanics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ruin raiders feels like an uninspired x-com. there is base building but its more of a gate to keep you playing than anything. you get 5 buildings one lets characters level to 5, two upgrade what gear and perks quality you can use, one lets you start with cats, walruses, or salamanders along with your birds, dogs, rhinos, and one lets you keep gems between missions. the last one is total bull since you use these gems to upgrade the buildings. you get 3 animal headed characters that go into the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall good, but don't expect too much... It's pretty short - beat the game on my second playthrough, after unlocking only one additional race, and now not sure if I'll have the interest to go back through and play long enough to unlock the rest. Yes, there are a lot of items - but many are variations on the theme; for example, there are several different levels of medikit, shotguns, pistols, etc - and some of the 'differences' don't make much difference. My (admittedly limited) experience…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty soft recommend, if it's on sale, and if you have already finished various games that do better at the same genre ("I Am Not A Monster" is the one I would recommend the strongest). The leveling system is pretty weird, being capped until you upgrade the base, which you can't do until all your guys die. It's very difficult with a team capped at level 2 (the first run), probably doable but hard with a team capped at level 3 (my second run), and pretty easy with a level 4 team and tier-2…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having a lot of fun playing this game. It gets very intense and it has replayability. Should check it if you are into turn-based combat games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ruin Raiders is a console ported (Switch, Xbone) Unity based furry friendly tactical turn based combat game, essentially a ripoff of X-Com but dumbed down to tailor to console peasants. It almost feels like a mobile app due to the sheer simplicity of the game. Considerable effort went into the art assets for the game, which feels a lot like lipstick on a pig in this case. It's grind heavy, and problematically, doesn't have any content. The game features no proper level design or game/story…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So basic.. and tedious. RNG is infuriating, upgrades for leveling don't work. Hard pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! I like the approach of animals as players, I think it's very different from the other similar games. Also the mastery system is kinda weird but cool :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat and cool looking turn-based game. I love looking at my raiders and petting them <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool turn-based roguelike. It has some interesting hidden lore with diaries you find through exploration.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny and quick tactics game; perfect difficulty to be a challenge without suffering the wrath of RNG gods.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too short, too easy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is infurryating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As my first time playing a tactical roguelike, it's been a lot of fun. The game is challenging and really has you on edge wishing you hit those 50/50 shots. Everything looks really nice and the gameplay feels polished and well-balanced. I defetead the first boss on my first run with a lot of luck, which was stressful and a lot of fun. Definitely worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The perfect mix between cute animals and classic TBS that I didn't know I needed and yet, here we are. Really challenging game, charming set up and lots of replayability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable game! I have played several runs already, with more or less success but still having my fun thinking on the next step to go or what would be the best move to deal with the enemies. Looking forward to get deeper and deeper into the ruins :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EN: I have been playing for about two and an a half hours and it is just what I expected, a quite funny tactical rogelike, with a lot of references and humor. I found it a little bit difficult, but that's something I enjoy! Recommended ////// ES: Llevo unas dos horas y media de juego y es tal y como lo esperaba, un rogelike táctico bastante divertido, con bastantes guiños y humor. En mi experiencia, me ha resultado algo dificil, y eso me gusta. Recomendado.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can pet the dog, you can also pet the crow, but don't try to pet the rhino 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low budget xcom with a Rougelike Spin. Was bored to tears after the first few battles
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there's just not enough to make this game interesting. Classes are barely different, with one saving grace being that you can build them around the gimmick (example - cat's ability allows them to ignore the 'heavy' trait of weapons once per few turns). More powerful gear is gatekept by upgrading the base, which feels absurdly expensive, to be honest. All enemies have the same ranged attack and one gimmick ability - same as for the heroes, but here the variety is so non existent. Despite the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game whether you're new to roguelikes or an experienced player, pretty fun. Also, love the animals and their names <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a great time. It's a little buggy sometimes, and it's definitely a lot shorter than I thought it would be (I was able to beat the whole game on my 3rd run), but it's pretty enjoyable if you like something that's on par with mario and rabbids: Kingdom Battle in terms of difficulty. It's well thought out, and the roguelike aspect is well implemented.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ruin Raiders is a nice spin on turn based tactical games. Each run forces you to adapt and think about your next moves and team focus. Beating it seems like a fun challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ruin Raiders is a turn-based tactical roguelite that blends squad strategy, procedural exploration, and a quirky cast of anthropomorphic animal soldiers into a single, combat-focused descent into hostile ruins. Developed by OverPowered Team and published by indie.io, the game introduces itself with a strong premise: you lead teams of animal raiders—dogs, cats, rhinos, birds, and other creature-soldiers—into ancient, ever-shifting labyrinths in search of weapons, upgrades, and the elusive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty excellent turn-based roguelite RPG. Fun combat, interesting character equipment and leveling up systems, some fresh base upgrading to make your characters even better and more. Plays really well and feels good. Feel free to check it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really hoping for a decent turn based tactics game. Unfortunately, it's so cookie cutter that it's incredibly boring. At the start the devs warn you that it's a difficult game to master and to be patient. It's not at all a difficult game to master, it's just that they lock progression behind upgrades that you can only get once you finish your run (and by that I mean until you die). So you'll get really far in with 20+ items/perks that you can't use, meanwhile the enemies are getting…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, the game is good in many aspects, and needs work in many others. I beat the game on my first try, so I suppose the game is rather easy? - The worst problem is that you cannot save the game and come back anytime you want. The game saves when you clear a level, which is usually at least 30 minutes of playing. The game has 9 levels, so 9 savepoints. - Unlocking stuff costs waaay too much, for stuff that you don't even need anyways. I finished multiple runs and haven't unlocked everything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just didn't do anything for me. Maybe with a few more hours invested I will change my mind. Just didn't have any real depth in my eyes.

unlabelledView post →I do enjoy the general gameplay loop of exploring generated dungeons and fighting XCOM-esque strategy battles, but I can't really recommend the game at the moment as the menu system is broken. I have tried every key on my keyboard but I cannot get the menus to switch tabs to other characters or 'blueprints' or 'mastery,' preventing me from accessing all of the features intended to be given to the player. Same goes for the tabs of the forge menu. Mouse clicking does nothing, and I do not have a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really put in around 12 hours into the game but had a couple of good runs and did not want to back out of but needed to go to sleep. If you love to grind the item world in Disgaea games then you will have some fun with this title. Yes its repetitive and yes there is heavy rougelite mechanics that will make you want to leave the game on for hours because your tired and you are on a heck of a run. If you see this one on sale and like grinding through tactical turn based rpgs take a shot at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →People are usually hit and miss about this genre. Respectively, this game deserves credit where credit is due! I compare this game to xcom and it has alot of different features then its predecessor making for a truly unique experience floor by floor. -upgrades -a ton of weapons -a "motherbase" to unlock higher tier upgrades -9 different attack utility defense buttons its art style is unique and its own which is a plus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5n_S2AL42Q for more information here is my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, if you just like the combat in turn based tactical games, minus the over world and doing research. Instead upgrades are droped, looted or crafted and permanent upgrades are made before the start of each run, making up for the rogue-light side of the game even when you die, you can use the currencey you made while playing to make meaningful upgrades. Each biome has 3 levels on the 3rd level is a boss fight, as many other rogue-like/lights each biome has a theme and adjusting your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EN: If you like rogelikes, this game is a must for you. The aesthetics are beautiful and controls feel smooth. I love raider's interactions between them. The main mechanic of the Game is well executed, alongside with the RNG, which feels fair, though sometimes you would like to smash your keyboard because you've failed an 87% shot chance. I cannot wait to reach the goal of the game and unravel its secrets, alongside with its easter eggs. Thank you so much, again, OP Team. Looking forward to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good enough, sadly ran into a bug that corrupted my run and I didn't feel like doing that all over again, but the game itself is decent
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave it a try but it wasnt for me. art was alright but i didnt enjoy the combat.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple good fun. Randomly generated XCOM-like with cute animals.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Picked the most accurate character for all three choices.(80%) Tried to hit one enemy from a distance of 3-5 squares from each character. Missed. Tried 2 more times with each character. (Total of 9 Shots attempted in total now) Missed. Uninstalled. Don't label Accuracy as 80% and still only hit at point blank range.(Still Missed 2 Point Blank Shots too.)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting XCOM like
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good and honest game. I dont understand the comments whining about the difficulty of it... Man, the game literally presents itself as a HARDCORE game just after the tutorial level. Also, loved the furry approach to art and sound. Kinda felt like playing the adult and hardcore version of Starfox.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good xcom with some roguelite, also cool animals
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very entertaining! This game is hard, but it looks like upgrades will help with progression. I love challenges.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and entertaining strategy game that will make you think on how to tackle the different enemies infront of you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →meh quite fun but its just meh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like someone made Xcom for little Timmy to play on mommy's tablet.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought this because I saw the cheap bundles. even if the game is not an AA games, I could have a few games for my gpd win max 2 to game, and even if other games sucks, at least this game seems to be decent enough from the review. what could go wrong eh ? turns out I was wrong. the game doesnt support controller, but the controller mode on wm2 still working when exploring, and this feels like a bliss. But when I got into combat, it becomes a nightmare. it's so hard to choose a place to move…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whilst not unfun, the game balance is way off meaning you can easily win on the second run, even with below average loot, due to the power of armour. After that, the crafting system makes every run insanely easy, the only difficulty to this game is grinding enough money to earn the final 2 achievements so I can get another perfect game. Basically, very grindy with no incentive to play more than one full run unless you *really* want the 100%.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite fun, good for playing a few sessions and then taking a bit of a break.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is an interesting concept. The RNG is crazy and it puts XCOM to shame when it comes to misses at higher percentages. As a Roguelite it seems to work, but as soon as I started picking up unit upgrades I started getting attached to characters this maid it all the more frustrating when your whole team goes down and you need to start fresh again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the combination of roguelike and turn-based tactics. It gets a bit repetitive doing the first few floors over and over again, but once you get some momentum you can progress and see interesting some new things
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played for a few hours and I can say this game is pretty entertaining. I've so far tried unlocked one extra animal and I like how they work together differently. Gameplay feels tough but rewarding, and dialogues are kind of funny. I'll keep on pushing to see how the game evolves the deeper I go.
