High Fidelity is a fantastic novel, as are About a Boy and Juliet, Naked. He even has 2 Oscar nominations for his screenplays for An Education and Brooklyn.

Movie > Book (not by much; both are good). (Legally Blonde is significantly better than the book. The musical is good too.)

I adore Rose Byrne & love Chris O’Dowd, who plays an obnoxious obsessive loser very well. The “romance” element was rather devoid of love & left a bad taste.

Its a Nick Hornby film so the music nerd stuff has a certain smell, but the lousy relationship stuff rings true. Feels like it should be funnier
