Fly Me to the Moon
Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones, brought in to fix NASA's public image, wreaks havoc on Apollo 11 launch director Cole Davis' already difficult task of putting a man on the moon. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup, and the countdown truly begins. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →My mom and I watched FLY ME TO THE MOON, the Tatum/Johansson flick about selling Apollo 11, and I've got to say: seldom have I seen a movie more riddled with joke-shaped sentences that are not, actually, jokes.
unlabelledView post →That "Fly Me To The Moon" movie has got some rancid vibes man. Cheeky light comedy moon landing conspiracy bullshit at one of the worst times. No name writers. Woody Harrelson is involved for very normal reasons I'm sure. Capricorn One already exists. The director did this movie:

unlabelledView post →The best way I can describe FLY ME TO THE MOON is that it's like someone made and released the sort of fake movie they use snippets from to pad out a lesser Hollywood satire
unlabelledView post →#MovieMadness Favourite movie of 2024 so far Fly Me to the Moon The kind of rom-com we don't get anymore (It would have been a huge hit in 1996) Sweet, heartfelt and charming (a good date flick)
unlabelledView post →Fly Me To The Moon is a wildly eccentric, deeply goofy reverse heist movie with an excellent cat. I had a great time with it.
unlabelledView post →So I’m on my flight to visit family for Christmas and unfortunately I’ve got a last little bit of work that I need to get done before the holiday. But I just watched a movie about the moon landing (Fly Me to the Moon) and was excited to grab my laptop to work because you know what? 1/2

unlabelledView post →My ★★★ review of Fly Me to the Moon boxd.it/9tpfGp Appealing 90-minute romantic comedy with a high octane Scarlett Johansson performance. Unfortunately, movie still goes on 45 minutes past what would have been nice ending. Finale is illogical, unconvincing & mawkish. #filmsky 📽
unlabelledView post →Fly Me to the Moon had me surprisingly smitten. This felt like a love letter to the Doris Day movie formula with a splash of Down with Love. It took me a bit to warm up to Tatum, but these two had me hooked at the end. It was fun, easy and had a sense of nostalgia that I eat up.

(Basically watching the build up to the Apollo 11 launch, with some fun takes on that). AND there's a little cat who basically steals all the scenes they're in, especially their last one! 🐈⬛🌒🚀

I watched the actual landing live in 1969. We have lost our can do anything magic that made Kennedy’s vision come true. Just heartbreaking Tony

unlabelledView post →You wouldn’t know it from the breezy script and star power, but Fly Me to the Moon has got to have one of the wildest pitches for a movie that was actually made. “The US government tried to fake the moon landing but it didn’t work.” It’s like they looked at this XKCD and thought, “That’s a movie!”
