unlabelledView post →"Never Look Away" was first screened in Hong Kong at the 2019 Hong Kong International Film Festival and went on to have a theatrical run later that year... "Never look away" was a phrase I kept on returning to in my mind that year, when I so badly wanted the world's eyes to be on Hong Kong. 😔

unlabelledView post →Lucy Lawless makes her directorial debut with NEVER LOOK AWAY, a documentary about trailblazing warzone camerawoman Margaret Moth. Lawless makes some bold choices but the material, and sometimes the lack thereof, makes the film a bit difficult.

unlabelledView post →Thoughts on NEVER LOOK AWAY (2018) One the century’s best films. An epic tale of Germany from the 1930s to the 1960s. Written and directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. It portrays the creative process better than any film I’ve ever seen.🎥

It's got a 7.7 on the IMDb but that could just be a lot of the same people who like the French film THE INTOUCHABLES etc.

unlabelledView post →Just Watched: Never Look Away (2024). Very entertaining documentary - a function of its fascinating, exciting subject. Moth is a character you couldn't write because you'd be accused of going too far, of giving into fantasy. Some of the more "artistic " bits didn't quite land, but overall, great.
