Roguelite game where the New Game button after a run does not start a new RUN, it wipes all your meta progression and starts you over from scratch. Lost all my progress and desire to play ever again. Hope this helps someone else avoid this blatant pitfall. Why there is a main menu option to wipe your progress at all blows my mind. Should hide it in the options menu somewhere like most other games.

If you liked Domekeeper but wanted a sense of progression vs pure arcade-like/rogue-like - this is for you. It trades some of the care and variety for: Better Graphics Persistent/meta progression Better help in the combat portion/dome keeping (my 2nd run had 7 upgraded ground weapons helping almost clear the ground lanes, and I barely lost to the 2nd boss) Choice of loadouts (as you unlock them) Far less stressful Domekeeper offered much more extreme power builds - but at a very random luck…

It's a shame this game isn't Early Access because I feel like something that has a lot of promise that just isn't realized yet. If the dev team is still working on it it may be a solid recommend in a few months. The TLDR is it feels like they took Dome Keeper and styled it after Housemarque, which is a pretty cool idea. On my notes below I know there's a lot of criticisms, but it's just easier to criticize - hopefully constructively. But this is a good game that I've enjoyed playing. The…

It's like a more fleshed out Dome Keeper. Very fun and definitely worth the price. The only two issues I've had are some glitches where momentum is preserved while activating relays which can result in being pushed out of bounds or being locked out of z-axis movement, and another issue where the explosion from the final boss will not fade away, resulting in losing visibility of the base afterwards.

I can't recommend this game in its current state. There are tons of bugs that hasn't been fixed yet. You get constantly stuck while moving both interior and exterior, infinite explosions, combat that doesn't end even when you killed all enemies. But the most annoying is not getting the bonuses and upgrades you should get for completing exterior explorations. I even lost a bonus after re-rolling it on brutal difficulty. Just avoid the frustration.

The developer has made MASSIVE improvements to the already amazing game it was a while back. Super satisfying drilling and collecting. A game that does not feel dull. Upgrades. Bosses. Different locations. What else would you want. Must have if you are into this genre... or want to try something new.

The first couple of runs are ok, but the game loop in medium and long run is not varied enough and it's just ok, worth a buy on sale if you like the genre.

Game is not as deep as it appears to be on the surface. The tower is the same or nearly the same every run (its not quite identical, there do appear to be set pieces though... but a very small number of them). Some of the upgrades are bad (the first secondary weapon you get is twice as good as the second one, for example). Appears abandoned by the developer.

ITER-8 developed by fluckyMachine and published by Fireshine Games is a hybrid roguelite strategy experience that blends mining exploration, base defense, and fast-paced action into a distinctive gameplay loop. Set in a bleak corporate science-fiction universe, the game places players in the role of an expendable worker tasked with drilling into massive alien pillars in search of valuable resources. What makes the game stand out is how it combines multiple genres—resource extraction, tower…

Well educated fluid running TD roguelike with that 'cleanup' feature that kept me going. More content would be nice, but I had a lot of fun going through this. Recommended, especially when on sale!

Great idea (I couldn't get in to Dome Keeper) and execution but I saw the primary content in two runs. All that is left as far as I can tell is turning up the difficulty and rerunning.

I like the gameplay and its not bad on steamdeck however reaching the third boss and beating makes the game unplayable but other than that good game but definetly needs that bug update. so if your going to get it thats just my forewarning to you. (edit) found out its unplayable afterwards so thats a bummer

Short playtime currently, I know, but I actually sat and played this game a lot at Gamescom last year and yet again I get lost in the game when playing it. The mining is satisfying and the tower defense mode is perfectly timed to keep you moving quick. It is a very engaging game. Just wanted to leave a review early now to help it out a bit if I can.

Great game. It has a few bugs at launch but it seems like the dev is working on an update. The price to gameplay ratio is pretty good here and the visuals are really great. I like this type of game because I can play this and listen to a podcast at the same time. I really enjoy the 2nd game type, when you get to hop out of the mining ship and get to solve some simple puzzles while mining for crafting materials at the same time. I hope that the dev puts out some further dlc with more biomes.

It's an alright game, takes a lot from other mining games and doesn't really provide anything new. Not recomended due to the meta tree being so sparse and generally unhelpful. You have to spend meta credits to unlock higher difficulties and different playable characters, except there is no real reason to do either of those things. Higher difficulty provides better credits for more meta unlocks...except there is nothing really worth unlocking. Benefits are very minor for the effort required. New…

I can't play the game because of the way the camera moves during mining with the laser drone. Moving the mouse while in this part of the game causes the camera to instantly (or almost instantly) move as well and it is really dissorianting (I played in 4k if it matters). This gets unbearable if you move the mouse really fast. They seem to have a pivor point that is between the drone and the mouse pointer which the camera keeps as the center, for some reason. Now about the UI. After you start…

A really fun game in the same vein as other defense/mining games like dome keeper. I really enjoy the split between the two "explore modes" and the various upgrades you can collect to both your dome, your ship, your miner and buildings. There is a prestige layer with upgrades and new classes keeps it fun enough to play through multiple times. There are some QOL issues, but the game is definitely a finished experience that can keep you mining and exploring for a few hours.

I like to play it; it's relaxing and addictive. There are some bugs, but nothing game-breaking. It's satisfying to dig through the cubes with the ship, especially when you drill a channel with the laser and shoot a rocket to the end to watch them explode and clear a whole area! :)

Thats a cool little game. It looks really nice, gameplay feels satifsying in most cases, it's pretty simple and smooth. The base of the game is very stable, however, of course, some mechanics feel unpolished of even redundant since the game just came out, but I'll leave the details for the feedback form. Right now the game is definitely worth playing if you like this branch of tower defense games (people might know it for Dome Keeper?), it surely fits in the market while presenting something…

Really great tower defense / mining indie game. Very addictive with a gameplay loop that personnally keeps me going. Not much to say about it except its a great game that delivers on what it sells. Price too high imo, 9€ max should be the base price. But beside this, the game works, it's fun, i like the artstyle, its relaxing, simple, straight to the point with a nice levelling system. I recommend it. Pretty damn fun, especially for the price. The constant game breaking bugs need to be fixed pretty soon though. Abandoning a run should not be the temp fix. It defeats the entire purpose of playing the game. Dev seems to be aware and is working on fixes. Great little game if things can be resolved. **Edit** Recent patch allowed me to finally complete run. The bugs preventing me from playing seem to have been fixed. Thank you Dev!

Really enjoyed it, mining is gratifying and progression is tangible throughout the run. Enemy progression doesn't feel overwhelming on the default difficulty and are fun to gun down. Honestly, very borderline on the recommendation though. Beyond the first successful run I'm not quite sure what to do. Subsequent runs up the tower after a full clear feels repetitive, and the tower format doesn't allow for much variety. Laser puzzles feel unnecessary altogether and not my cup of tea when I'm on…

Runs like absolute crap for no reason. For starters, why would you make a 2D game excessively 3D? Secondly, I don't think you've even bothered to try to optimize the game. The main menu somehow puts my GPU at 100%.

Fun for what it is but after two charachters you basically saw everthing. New stuff on skill tree doesn't give too much of reason to play further but I did want to finish atleast one time with all four class workers. Gameplay loop hooked me and I like atmosphere and visual style. I did saw comments about dev that doesn't respond on forum anymore so that sucks but for 13 euros I did had fun with the game.

Ran into a couple game breaking bugs, one that forced me to completely wipe my progress and start over. Needs a round or two of bug fixes and balancing before I can recommend the game. First bug: I was on one of the platforms and mined a block. A block rose up from the ground and pushed me off the tower. I fell down to the ground and couldn't re-enter the base. My favorite part of the game loop is the exterior puzzles that a lot of people are complaining about. I LOVE having multiple objectives and different ways of achieving them. I wish there were more games where the play style is mixed up. Keeps it fresh. If you found Dome Keeper challenging, this will be too. The Guild Badge challenges in Dome Keeper are a lot more tough. It took me about a dozen times to get far enough and then to beat the multiple bosses. More ppl need to check this jewel out!

Gameplay is fine. Not great as it feels occasionally just a bit crude. Like transported resources have mind of their own. Really enjoyed this game. I played the Demo a bit, and picked it up on release. There's a lot of cool content in here - and Act 2 and 3 both provide interesting twists on the existing act 1 content. That said, I did 'win' my first run, and so going after upgrades to make runs easier or unlock additional difficulties doesn't quite have the same luster I was hoping for. I'd love if the game had a little more challenge and longevity to really give me a reason to want to play more.
