60 of 172 · most liked firstclassic and almost forgotten RTS game, was glad to find it on the store after playing it so much on disk in my younger days, still holds up well today, probably a little basic by today's standards, but as a whole is still a fun and enjoyable experience, be it the combat or Empire/political management. well worth the very small price tag
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game back in the day... and forgot why I quit playing it. I remember now... it crashes. A lot. I remember thinking maybe it was the laptop I was playing it on. That wasn't it! It crashes constantly on my desktop here 15 years later, which sucks. Total War Napoleon crashed *occasionally*. This is nonstop. This is like the Dollar General version of TWN, and the constant crashing sucks any potential for enjoyment out of it. It might have something to do with my insistence on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imperial Glory In today's grand strategy market, Imperial Glory is basically just a poor man's Empire/Napoleon Total War. However, when this game originally came out in 2005, those games didn't exist. At the time Imperial Glory was a pretty good grand strategy game set in Europe and northern Africa from the last 1700s to the early 1800s.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to love this game as a kid. Still holds up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Read this before buying, This is a great game that crashes and nullifies hard fought battles. A very frustrating experience. The crash happened four times out of five. Save your money. Choose a different game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imperial Glory is better than TW Empire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, real gem. If you have issues on Win10/11 use compatibility mode and DXWND (Solved all my issues).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I still feel like this game was better than Napoleon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game crash's after every land battle, wont waste any more time on it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crashes after 90% of battles and 10% of turns
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imperial Glory is a very underrated strategy game. Similar to Rome: total war there is a strategic map and the tactical battlefield. The strategy map is big, the research tree is huge and it will take some time to gather a large amount of resources to upgrade both buildings and armies. Fighting can be a challenge at first. Especially since the melee units are no pushover at the start of the game. Even the diplomacy is arguably stronger than in Rome Total war. The only big downsides this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the dictionary definition of the term 'hidden gem', this was one of my favourite games back in the golden age era of Windows 95 along with Three Kingdoms: Fate of The Dragon (I NEED a remaster of this game too) and Swarm Assault. Although you could only play as Great Britain, France, Austria, Prussia and Russia, I do wish that we could have played as another country (would have loved to have achieved domination as either Ottoman Empire (Turkey), Denmark or even Morocco. Don't let…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty neat strategy game, even with the passage of time I think this game held up pretty well and if strategy games are your thing I think you should give this little gem a chance~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, I only wish there were a newer version of this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game far more than I enjoyed any Total War games. I do not know what it is, but something about it makes it better. Yes, it can be buggy, combat isn't that impressive when you randomly lose 10 elite 5 star hussar soldiers as they charge a one star militia unit, but it's still enjoyable. The strategic map mechanics are very fun and enjoyable especially on hard mode. You really have to think ahead of time what you want to do, how you want to invest and put a long term plan. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could be a Windows 10 versus an 'old game'.. issue. But after playing this game on and off.. and playing it and realisiing that the reason I kept stopped playing... was because the game crashes after every battle. :( So it's 'Uninstall time'.. and if possible after I post this review... complete removal from my game library
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best turn based history game ever bro wdym this is a classic right here
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like those games where you need to control an army to attack/defend. If you are bored, buy this game. One of the best games in my opinion. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the best total war game that isnt a total war game of all time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me the concept is much better than Total War, the map layout is great and the gameplay amazing. I wish they would make a remake or a sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a nostalgia product. I played this as a kid and now as an adult I still enjoy it from time to time but it shows it's age. Think of it as an early prototype for total war with a few unique mechanics. If that sounds good to you, you'll enjoy this title. I know I did, but it's not for everyone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just an amazing game for anyone who loves a combination of RTS battles and grand strat campaigns.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated strategy games ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is still a great game, the 15.2 hours of play time does not seem right to me, that was probably on the last play through 2 years ago haha. To give you an idea of battle concepts Land battles go for the super realism approach, it takes time to walk across the map, your soldiers will fatigue, your formations are hugely important (as any Sharpe fan would already know). Slow firing, then take it to melee as wasting time on shooting a small unit may cost you elsewhere on the map etc. Unit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World record??? I just conquered the board by May 1795 (69 turns, hard mode with Russia) It was pretty much the perfect game so I’m wondering if anyone has done it faster or if this is the world record?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember illegally downloading a playing this game back in the day. This game is still one of the best games of that period out there in my opinion. I just love the general atmosphere of the game as well as the OST. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves strategy games and/or this historical period. The only negative thing to say about this game is that even on hard difficulty the game is kinda easy. You can relatively fast get to the stage where you can just steamroll everyone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovable game, been playing it almost since 10 years, never gets old!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first played this game over 10 years ago, when I was around thee age of 15. It's a very simple turn based strategy game. It's a fairly simple and straightforward game and since I was able to recently find it on sale, I decided to get it, so that I could play it once more. It does crash a lot on windows 10, however you can easily remedy this issue by setting compatibility mode for this game to Windows XP SP3. One of the main drawbacks of this game is that pretty soon only the 5 main…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the nostalgic. - Graphics are as you would expect from a 2005 game. If you're concerned about that, try different game. If you're here for the RTS then well worth the price. - Very slow paced. Personally I feel pacing if off putting at the beginning. However once you manage to progress sufficiently ahead then you realise the game is not so simple and more complex than imagined. - Limited campaign battles - Diplomacy works well. - Environment will have a great outcome on tactics/ battle, -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imperial Glory is an ambitious blend of grand-strategy and real-time warfare that aims to capture the sweeping drama of the Napoleonic era while giving players direct command over both empire management and battlefield tactics. Developed by Pyro Studios and published by Kalypso Media Digital, the game presents a broad, continent-spanning campaign in which you guide one of five major powers—Great Britain, France, Russia, Prussia, or Austria—toward dominance across Europe, North Africa, and the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game for it's time, as a kid I sunk many hours into it (and let many famines happen as I did not understand English that well at the time)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was ahead of it's time. The amount of hours I put into this as a kid was probably over 200! Very fun time period, amazing campaign design and mechanics also. The battles are horrible I never liked them and never played them however don't let that stop you, it did not stop me from enjoying this game. For a game from 2005 it easily beats some modern strategy games I'm looking at you Thrones Of Britannia Total War. Super cheap especially when it is on discount! Give it a go and you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a really fun line war game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a gem for anyone searching for the past of this genre. Its a good game that lit the flame for me in this genre. This game's optimization is not that good requiring you to do a small bucket list of things to run it but the gameplay is still incredible. Even tho improvements have been made in the genre i often find myself coming back to this little game for its music, its setting, its feeling and to play around with all the ways there are to victory should that be diplomatic or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great TBS game. It has a lot of options in the diplomacy and economy aspects. Even though it doesn't have the depth in battle like the Total War series, it's quite satisfying and has a lot of strategy too. The main downsides for me are the naval battles that aren't the easiest to win on your own and take a lot of time to finish, and the fact that you can play with only 5 major countries (Great Britain, France, Russia, Prussia, Austria) and not with any of the smaller ones. I'd love to be able…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I crashes after almost every battle, and you can't save during a battle. This could have been such a great game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Opening game, press start, see if anything can be changed, nope, enter game, see that i'm france. lost in 15 mins. Trying to look again where the hell i can change nation, after looking 5 mins i just start game again, because i'm probably blind as hell. End up as France again and ragequitted. France clearly an auto-defeat nation ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Classic RTS / TBS game with potato graphic. If you into that get it! Might jump back to it at another point, but for now it gonna collect virtual dust…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my all time favourites, I bought it new at initial release and still find myself coming back to it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really good old game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The campaign mode is good fun for a while, but my only wish is that it limits the mode to five empires to choose from. I wish they allowed more countries to play as.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the first game that i have played, so many memories. If u are into Total War series and u dont mind playing old games, this is the game for u!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It may be an older game, but I still had lots of fun playing it, for 2020 standerds the graphics are about a “4”, I can highly recommend this game and say that if your into historic turn based games, this is that game for you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to have this game and loved it. Now though, at the end of every battle, after fighting during the load screen it crashes. Shame as it is a wonderfully crafted game otherwise
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started the game, not expecting much from it, especially since it's an older title. I was apprehensive, and the menu was simple, containing three modes: Campaign, Historical Battles, and an online mode I haven't tried yet. You play in only five countries: France, Britain, Prussia, Russia, and Austria. Each country has its own advantages and disadvantages, so you don't get bored quickly. The game is honestly a bit difficult, especially at the beginning when learning the mechanics. Play for a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately the game crushes and results in losing your last save.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! Very nostalgic. Highly recommend if you love strategic map style games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this was my first game on a computer as a kid, definitely holds up as to how cool and fun it is, holy nostalgia
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NTW is generally better than this except for its brainded AI that charge you after first round of shots. This need a remaster more than Praetorians, or maybe Imperial Glory 2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is very good but it shut down while playing....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stronghold Crusader 1 Imperial 2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, definitely recommended !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keeps crashing after battles and loses progress
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old school Strategy game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game covers the period of the French Revolution and its aftermath. Starting from 1789 and extending to 1830 (or indefinitely) your goal is to make the largest mark on history (or simply conquer all of Europe). You can play as one of the major powers of the time. Decent enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fix the crashes and I promise I'll buy another Pyro or Kalypso title and change my review. Don't fix the crashes, say by the time you launch your 2020 Christmas holiday promos, then I'll never buy another Pyro or Kalypso product.
