Visuals and sound design 👌🏻 There's also a great story here. A Flawless masterpiece because I literally can't think of any. 10/10. A lovely surprise. 🥹

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game won't launch on my machine (Windows 11). Very disappointing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Commandos 2: Men of Courage is, in my opinion, the best installment in this franchise. Again, it's a game based on WW2 where you manage a small unit of elite soldiers called the Commandos with the mission to stop the advance of both Germans and now Japanese Axis Forces. Now, everything the past games did right, this one makes it even better, not only it does add new abilities, new weapons and more variety, it also adds a new Commando (and a dog!). It's graphics has also been overly improved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are planning to buy these 2 games: Commandos 2: Men of Courage & Commandos 3: Destination Berlin, I have some advice for you. If you buy it as a memory of your childhood, it is okay. This game is also my childhood. But if you buy it to play, you should consider carefully because you will encounter some problems if your computer is using Windows 10/11.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →classic, unbeaten atmosphere!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic strategy game, better graphics and key mapping than Commandos 1 and less clunky than Commandos 3. Truly a timeless gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Random shoutout time! Any Desperados III fans out there? It was probably my 1st tactical stealth isometric game since Commandos 2, and I was surprised at how solid the gameplay and story were. Sucks that Mimimi closed doors. But I still a couple of their games in my backlog waiting to be played.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a classic! Hours of dumb fun guaranteed. Worth it for a rainy weekend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing Commandos 2 recently, an excellent game from the uneventful September 2001. I'd like to say it's nostalga (the game not the other stuff) but honestly I'm just so tired of endless DLCs for games I've already purchased.
unlabelledView post →What can I say, it's definitely one of the greatest games of all time. NOTE: Just a little bit of tricky to be able to run it on a Windows 11 machine. You might need this application "DxWnd" to solve the problem. Link: https://sourceforge.net/p/dxwnd/home/Home/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't work on W11, tried all tips and tricks from the community, nothing worked for me. Strongly advise you don't waste any amount of money on this game (nor commandos 3)... It's a shame this is still available without any warnings about compatibility.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not let me start the game. just stops the game from starting on steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent. I still have the CDs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game will forever be associated with my childhood and my dad <3... ~⬩❖ MASTERPIECE ❖⬩~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you got Windows 11 then dont buy. It sadly doesnt work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That Yakoh Shinobi-Ops looks class. I love the camera style for the game. Very Commandos 2: men of courage like stealth gameplay!
unlabelledView post →Although I prefer previous commandos games (Behind enemy lines & Beyond the call of duty) over this one, its still an all time classic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For nostalgia reasons I still recommend it. But: You can't switch the language. Altough I'm german, I do play games in english since german translations often lack the atmosphere. Before I bought it on Steam, I checked the supported languages => it says german and english, but if you have a german account, you get a german-only version. Searching the internet, this seems to apply to various countries, that you only get "your" native language installer 🫤
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashes on Windows 10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always had fond memories of this game and always had feelings that this was the best in the franchise. While most of that was my nostalgia, after playing through it again I still feel the same. Commandos 2 was where the series really went all out with everything it was capable of, and the whole looting enemies and character inventories was one of the best additions to the games in my opinion. (It's a bummer they removed that from Origins, major downgrade) Obvoiusly it has the best graphics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game because it takes me back to my childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun concept. good graphics for the time. but human interface is, annoying to say the least. every item has its own hotkey making it hard to switch weapons intuitively. no way to re assign key binds either. good luck!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another game that I rediscovered on steam. This is super nostalgic and one of my favorite strategy games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sick soundtracks
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Commandos 2: Men of Courage, developed by Pyro Studios and published by Kalypso Media Digital, stands as one of the defining entries in the real-time tactics genre and a landmark in the evolution of World War II-themed strategy games. Released in 2001, it built upon the solid foundation of its predecessor, Behind Enemy Lines, by expanding the scope, depth, and complexity of its missions and introducing a far more interactive world. Set across multiple theaters of war, from the icy fjords of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Timeless Classic - Played some Desperados III, instantly wanted to play this gem again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By modern standards the controls are somewhat clunky and unresponsive, probably due to relatively low frame-rate, but the second installment seems to be much more forgiving compared to the original, and it can still be enjoyable in its own way. It goes easy on the puzzle aspect and ventures more into "sandbox" territory by giving players various items to deal with tricky situations. By far the biggest reason to recommend this one is the outstanding attention to detail in the designs of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't run on my system out of the box. Incumbant on steam to ensure all games they sell run on modern systems.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, just like it was when it came out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works perfectly fine on Linux Mint. If you want to experience the game as you remembered it, dump M$ and install a small Linux partition/drive. It might be an old rig, but runs great when not burdened with junk. i7-7700K 64GB DDR3 980Ti Proton 9.0.4.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice simple game, gets easier once you memorise key strokes, havent played this since 2002, brings back memories
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a classic game? DEFINETELY YES!!! Play this old one, not the remastered one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing real time tactics game. Use cncdraw to upscale the default resolution and add some neat sharpening effects. Works great on Win 11
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its soo goooooddd
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is much better than the HD Remaster. The Remaster adds a bunch of text box tutorials to explain things, which just makes it even more confusing. At least in this one you can just look at a youtube longplay and figure out how the UI works. This version doesn't look much different from the Remaster anyway. So I don't really see the point of the remaster. Just get this one, It's better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have periods in my life where I just wanna relive the commandos games, I go back and play them in random order. Today I finished commandos 3 and went back to commandos 2. I never understood why nobody likes commandos 3 but everyone loves commandos 2 and today it hit me hard. You get much better missions, more missions, longer missions, more characters and best of all, GREAT KEY SHORTCUTS. As I leave the commandos 3 behind me disappointed, I am yet again excited to play C2. Great game!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I noticed my cousin playing this game after getting it on monthly issue of "BGamer" in Portugal a few years back and it was to this day the only "strategy-stealth" based game play I have ever liked. Unfortunately this is my very 1st negative review ONLY because I never got a chance to get a refund on this game and it´s the only one that has never worked either on my PC or my recently acquired Steam Deck. I´m sure it´s still a good game but I can´t experience it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a great classic! One of the best games ever created Very demanding though... get ready to squeeze your brain and plan every move

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game lots of detail total adventure
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Commandos 2 is a sequel to the beloved real-time tactics game, bringing back your favorite soldiers and a couple of new faces to move through new 3D maps and jankily complete objectives while consistently crashing. The 3D engine used by Pyro Studios is noticeably bad and sluggish, portraying your soldiers as slow-moving blobs. The game has a terrible user interface, requiring an enormous amount of time to get used to the hotkeys and weird layouts, with some actions hidden behind the right mouse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess in a sense it does live up to the Commandos 2 standard that way, because that game basically has the same thing going on.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another day, another game that doesn't run on modern systems sold by Steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, the visuals for the moment were incredible and they remain great. Mechanics are fun and satisfying. Worth playing it on Thanks Giving.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Banger. One of the best games in the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Legendary! A childhood favourite and a great game from the golden age of gaming. I played it again recently and it's still so beautiful, well made, well executed! It's FUN! This is one of the best game ever made! This one is Superior to the remaster! Get the original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Also Commandos 2 is fucking great because killing nazis feels really good in that game, but sadly there's absolutely fatal technical problems on the PC version. Maybe one day I'll fix them myself.
