After I finally got a controller and finish everything this game has to offer, I'm honestly js disappointed. Repetitive enemy, terrible level design, janky combats with hitboxes that felt off, unmemorable bosses that spam the same two or three moves all the time. I get that annoying the narrator was kinda the point of the game too but it was executed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with a funny narrative but some of the enemy designs are irredeemable dogsh!t, especially the eye with limbs thing. This game is like making friend with a nice guy with a great sense of humor and then he tells you "Oh by the way, I once kicked a dog so hard, he rolled down a slope like a bowling ball". Still worth a try tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can ragebait the narrator so hard he'll get pissed and send you into a completely different game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Icey finished, better than i thought, was sitting on for so long, goody fun, its an action game, very short but mixed with the Stanley Parabel, i like the idea
unlabelledView post →This game is really fun. I mean, there are multiple path choices in the story that can annoy the narrator, and I think it’s worth a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was awesome; I had so much fun. It's one of those games that, when you finish it, you want to know more, and it stays with you because it's so good. I hope they release a sequel or a remake someday. Its unique story is very interesting, not to mention the secrets and curiosities it contains. I don't want to spoil the surprise. PLAY IT NOW! It has a great story, incredible gameplay, and tons of content to explore, plus surprises you won't expect.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game years ago, and finally played in on an old laptop while my other computer is being fixed. Honestly, I was ready to quite within 15 minutes. It is so heavy on the meta, 4th wall, 'the narrator is the antagonist' shtick that it made the "alright AT BEST" game play nearly unbearable. The narrator (in English) is annoying as hell. The script repeats itself with each revisit of an area, and you will revisit areas if you want more than hour of playtime. There is this whole…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love how you can ragebait the narrator by ignoring his orders all fun until the mf removes all your money in game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The extremely basic combat is not enough to distract me from the cheap Flash-like animations and annoying narrator.

unlabelledView post →No. First of all, animation: The animation of the character looks robotic. I would have preferred they actually hand animated a sprite instead of using whatever rig/skeleton software they used. Second, the dodge needs work: I understand a tight window to make a perfect parry. But this is TOO tight. Also, if you miss the perfect parry, you may as well have just stood there and taken the hit anyway, because you get absolutely NO invincibility frames. It's even worse when it's laser rays that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't even lie i wanted to talk Doodoo dogwater about getting stunlocked in combat and experiencing "Average Mortal Kombat Online Experience" but then after i 100%ed the game and got the true ending i cried and i felt truly ashamed, It's a good game fellows, short but it's worth it.

unlabelledView post →It's funny how Blazblue Entropy effect getting a DLC collab with ICEY has friends giving me the rundown on what kind of game it is. Kinda nice seeing people be passionate about niche stuff they like.

unlabelledView post →One of my fav games back then were Icey and Implosion Never Lose Hope. The former has been ported to PC, has a cool story. I think what hurt the mobile market the most has been that no one was willing to BUY mobile games. They were willing to pay MTX and gacha, but not a game.

unlabelledView post →Have any of you ever played Icey its a really good game 😊 its like if Stanley parable meets a action adventure game :3
unlabelledView post →I recently played it and i gotta say its a short but very nice time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game, has a rich meta narrative. A lot of things don't get explained about the world. However that is the point. Runs very well even on old hardware.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never knew this was also for pc so it's interesting playing it here instead of my phone, I used to play I.C.E.Y constantly until TBOI came out on ios. But even so Im so glad I came back to it so many years later
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mistakenly bought this game thinking it'd be somewhat Metroidvania-ish, which it isn't. Instead you get some very middling Double Dragon 2d beat em up-fare... with some minor additional exploration added: This sometimes comes with some additional rewards, but just as much means unskippable cut scenes, narrator meandering and sometimes even forced restarts. At one point an agitated narrator shrieked at me "-You don't even like this game, do you!?" and I only chuckled to myself and wondered if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had an awful experience with this one. The premise was attractive and visually the game's good, but the serious lack of polish in regard to the enemy attacks ended up drawing me out (playtime is wrong btw. I've been playing for ~1h on the Steam Deck, reached Thor boss, left it there). My experience so long was: - Started in Difficult, died a lot. Tried to lower the difficulty to normal. Apparently not possible. Had to look in Google how to do it. Had to go back to the start level and wait…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Going to reorder this one soon. This game is NOT keyboard friendly so play it once you have a controller!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up this game based on the visuals and was blindsided by a few of the quirks that are only found by playing the game. I don't want to spoil them but in short I do recommend the game to other players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To combat is fairly nice, but the story is a disjointed mess. Waiting for many minutes while the narator goes through his 4th wall breaking ramblings about game development is not fun. This is basically Hack and Slash + The Stanley Parable, so if you like both these things the game might be for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended on sale, probably not at full price, if you are picking this game up in 2025 and beyond. I think there are other indie 2D action games with better value for the bucks. An enjoyable, if short, side-scrolling action game with a fairly enjoyable combat experience. I will say it is not a particularly well-designed one though, despite the flashy, DMC Vergil-like stylish katana girl video you may come across online. While ICEY's moveset is cool and feels good to practice/execute, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game with all achievements. I don't know what to say about a 2D action game, I have so little experience with the genre. I don't know why I bought this game either, I guess it just seemed interesting. What I can say is that I absolutely adored this game. It was very approachable and easy to play. I started this on easy and played through the game. Then I switched to hard difficulty, which is very uncharacteristic of me as I play only for story. Then I encountered the games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I appreciate the idea, but the execution for this game leaves a lot to be desired. First off gameplay. Nothing special, feels insanely average. Make no mistake, this is no DMC or Ninja Gaiden. Lacks a lot of depth, and gets repetative very quickly. The game's short though, so theres that I suppose. Combat has that feeling of "use rare abilities to get an edge" instead of offering new moves/weapons and expanding on a combat sandbox. The new moves you do get all feel very samey, just ways to…

unlabelledView post →I wish I could like this game more. In ICEY, you play as the titular character to stop Judas as the Narrator says. Throughout the game, the narrator will tell you where to go, explaining why this game is considered meta. After some experience with narrators in other games like Slay the Princess, it is clear that the game wants you to do something different. Some of these moments can be charming, but the novelty gets old fast. When it comes to the combat in ICEY, I have mixed feelings about…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat heavy side scroller + Stanley's Parable. Game's short (i 100%'d it in less than 5h without rushing on the highest difficulty) but is worth it. Combat's smooth and fun. Narrator interactions is the main gist so you must be into that "4th wall breaking" games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanted to like it, but a lot of the combat was janky and the later bosses with lasers would just ride you for damage. Game is short, like 2.5 hours. Game doesn't feel challenging, just cheap to the player.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Steam Deck/Linux Friendly Fun Story Interesting Choices Beautiful Anime Art Style Nice Soundtrack Funny Dialogue Cons: Nothing Really ICEY is what happens when a developer decides "What if I combine a hack n' slash side scroller with something like The Stanley Parable?" You have a narrator that wants you to follow a specific path, but becomes irritated if you choose to go off exploring for yourself. Sometimes different paths would lead to some funny pre-mature endings,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After getting all achievements I got two things I want to mention, the gameplay and the story: - The gameplay: Terrible doesn't even begin to describe it, enemies are tanky as hell, the feedback when damaging them is almost non existential, it's hard to tell if you are even damaging enemies, enemy attacks are nearly unreadabale and almost undodgeable, the dodge straight up doesn't work to avoid damage despite the game literally telling you that you are invincible while using it and overall the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a fun, content-packed metroidvania, this game is not that. It is, however, a short, yet interesting narrative that comments on game development, which happens to also use a very extended metaphor involving the King in Yellow that envelops the story as a whole. Having the narrator on Mandarin is a must. The English VA isn't horrible, but he doesn't nearly portray as much emotion, and pissing the narrator off is one of the two biggest appeals in this game for me, and the…

unlabelledView post →I tried to love this game but a few things are a bit annoying, Examples, main character attack hit box inconsistent on certain moves, narrator kinda annoying (but I get the jokes), and some enemy attacks are are hard to see. overall, the game is ok but not enough to make me play through
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but rememberable gameplay. Didnt expected this game that good tho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🎮[ #goinglive ]🎮 ICEY that this game is still as directive and funny. At least I hope it will still be, and we won't be getting into existential dread territory. Right? RIGHT? twitch.tv/lapysaoneeris #ENVtuber #Vtuber #vtlive

unlabelledView post →It's just annoying to play, you gotta wait for the narrator to get pissed off at you for not following his orders and that means not playing the game for minutes for each "secret", literally just standing around doing nothing No flow in the combat either, enemies overlap and stun lock you to death this means that you can get clipped by an enemy that you couldn't even see I guess I could just get good but to be honest this game is not fun enough for me to put that effort
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very brave to make a game that leans so hard on meta-narrative when the core gameplay is so mushy. In this case, it does not work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blazblue Entropy Effect looks mad interesting. Taking fighting game characters and throwing them into a platforming roguelike. Plus the collab with Icey looks cool!
unlabelledView post →I guess I really can't get rid of the love for side scrolling and platformer game since Megaman. Plot and story you're perfect. Thank you ICEY, you've been so entertaining and fun. Way more than most 3D expensive graphic games nowadays. Def recommend👍

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hard to say I dislike or like this game definitively, as my opinions are mixed. But overall? I see more bad than good. I didn't play far enough for the story to hook me, so I'll take anyone's word for it if I'm told it's good. However the movement is janky and the graphics are mismatched. ICEY plays like she wants to be on a MUCH bigger screen, and when I am moving forward, for some reason she is right on the right side of the screen and thus I can't see anything until it's on top of me?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat feels weightless, repetitive, and inconsequential in the long run. Not once was I encouraged to upgrade any of my abilities, because it all felt so "pointless," I don't know how else to describe it. It just seemed like the enemies were mindlessly running their scripts in the background with complete disregard to anything that the player was actually doing. In addition, the infinite multi-directional dashing further cheapens things. I know there's a dash counter, but it refilled so…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say im disappointed by the direction this game goes, such a wasted potential despite the well character design and enemies, this game could go on develop into something better, i hope u can sell this game to different company and make it a new
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I discovered BlazBlue Entropy Effect X today which then introduced me to Icey so that was fun. Also my first BB game and by luck the whole series was on sale for like…$10 on steam so I’ll take that win too.
unlabelledView post →This game was really good. But short.. boss fights were tough. Buy this if you can get on sale! 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this game a bit more than I thought I would. It's very straight forward, and there are some cool secret areas that piss the narrator off when you find them. Combat is simple for this type of game, but it's pretty fun. Backgrounds are prerendered which made me feel nostalgic for old playstation games. Definitely interesting and fun for a quick playthrough. About 2-3 hours for completion.

The real game isn't killing cyborgs; it's annoying the narrator by disobeying his instructions. Think The Stanley Parable with a katana. Who Is This For? positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game #51 of 2025 ICEY I love the concept of defying the narrator and ICEY took that and really ran with it. The combat is pretty satisfying barring one boss fight (eat shit, Ideon) though I had to fight my stubborn urges to spam fast attacks eventually. Truly a hidden gem of a game.
