It's been a while since I played a game that combines unique and high quality puzzles with such good storytelling.

havsala: into the soul palace is a 1st-person point & click adventure. while not a mobile port, the cursor doesn't change over interactable hotspots, only over ui elements, so it very much feels like one. no hotspot indicator either, so you'd expect it to cost about 2 bucks, yet it's somehow 10. it's also annoying that most things move when clicked, but only few actually do anything. it's cute in putt-putt and freddi fish, not so much here. the logo on startup is unskippable, as are the quotes…

Why can't we have good point and click adventure games any more? either they're far too easy or chock full of moon logic that would make guybrush blush. for example, one of the earlier ones. You find a page in a book showing the simplest pythagorean triangle (the one usually, as here too, depicted with three boxes filled with smaller boxes, for a^2 + b^2 = c^2) with symbols for each side. Somewhere else is a sliding puzzle where 3 of the blocks have the same symbol, 3 have alchemic symbols and…

While I greatly respect the amount of research that went into the storytelling aspect of this game and the puzzle complexity, I found little enjoyment in the copious amount of reading and obscurity of some of the puzzles. If you're looking for something light and relaxing, this isn't it. If you want a challenge and some history, culture, mythology, philosophy, geometry, music, astronomy, with a touch of frustration-go for it. The game plays fine. No hiccups. Negative only due to personal…

Havsala: Into the Soul Palace is an escape room adventure with astonishing hand-drawn art and an ancient Greek thematic revolving around the lives and works of several Greek personalities that are presented in the game as reincarnations of Phyrne - a famous and controversial courtesan who lived in the 4th century BC. The whole game spawns over four chapters, but happens in a single room, described as Phyrne’s Soul Palace - a place full of mysterious puzzles, astronomical and musical devices,…

More interesting reviews on [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33843777//] Fenol Baron Approves Curator Page A very compact and tightly knit puzzle game that skillfully combines the complexity of the tasks and the smart presentation of the plot. The main theme here is ancient history and science, the connection with puzzles is very beautiful and natural. I've never taken particular interest in the puzzle genre and as a result have never developed a "knack" for the games (read: zero skills). After seeing Havsala: Into the Soul Place in my friends activity feeds for a few weeks, I decided the beautiful art and seemingly immersive story would make this title a great choice for trying my hand at the category. Wrong. So, so wrong. This game is HARD. Maybe it's my peanut brain, but I did try some easier titles recommended by friends to help restore…

VERY difficult point and click game from the very start. Quite obscure things mixed with those really annoying trial and error "puzzles," makes for a very frustrating and unenjoyable game. The good things? The music and sound is lovely and calming. The art style is very appealing to the eye (which is why I picked this game up). But for me, unfortunately, I'm not enjoying this game at all :(

There are many such games that are quite good in Steam. This is not one of them. It breaks my heart, because the art is very nice and the general idea is also clever, but ends up being just poorly developed. Puzzles are obscure and often made way harder than fun by the UI and often extend their welcome. It's not very expensive though, so maybe you can give it a try...

Havsala is a colorful point-and-click puzzler with some interesting historical references, classic art, and a bit of mysticism (tarot, astrology, etc.). The entire game takes place in a single room with straightforward puzzles and a raven to give you hints, as needed. The game auto-saves on exit but I do not believe partial progress on a puzzle is saved. Completionists will need to play through twice, as some achievements are mutually exclusive. If you are thorough your first time through,…

Some of the puzzles were interesting, some felt like the information in the game was misleading, and some puzzles were just figuring out that the item I got in the first 5 minutes of the game would be used an hour later on a puzzle that has no indication that I should use that item on that puzzle. The in game hints felt extremely necessary because sometimes I would just never have been able to figure out what items needed to interact with what parts of the room. A lot of the puzzles didn't…

If I could give a neutral rating, I think I would. I like puzzles; this is a puzzle game. I don't mind reading lots of text; this game has lots of text. I like mythology and history; this game has lots of both. But this game is unrewardingly obscure in places. I finally gave in and followed a walkthrough. There were lots of steps that were "yes, that's obvious" but also quite a few steps that were "How did you get that instead of a dozen other equally plausible things?" Toward the end of…

A beautiful puzzler with an intriguing story. The puzzles, while all tying in to the theme well, never felt repetitive, and were pleasantly amenable to trial-and-error solving. Interactions were easy as well - nothing frustrates me more than a puzzle-based game that nit-picks your clicks and motions to the point that you might miss a correct solve by being slightly imprecise with your cursor, and this did nothing of the kind. I did find myself wishing that it was a longer game - I was able to…

The art is gorgeous. It makes you feel very sophisticated and deep, right up until the moment you realize you’ve been clicking on a vase for ten minutes hoping it’s a secret button. Unlike games where you just pull a lever, Havsala requires you to comb through diaries, scrolls, and ancient texts to find specific dates, symbols, or astronomical data needed to unlock the next area. I haven’t read this much since I accidentally opened the Terms and Conditions for a software update. If you like…

I didn't really enjoy this game. The art style was pretty, but the puzzles were a mix between ultra predictable and absolutely no clue. There is a hint feature, but using them didn't give answers that made you feel satisfied. Half the time I knew what the puzzle was getting at, but understanding the game mechanics of putting it together was difficult. The story also fell flat for me - felt like the developer was trying so hard to be philosophical but it just didn't come together in the end.…

This was refreshing and surprisingly deep. The riddles were not too hard and there is a hint system if you are truly stuck. I think i either bruteforced one or two riddles but it did not break the game or progression. Overall a good experience and perfect to just chill and wind down while playing. If you got the coin to spare then toss it to the small dev team and grab this short but sweet game!

The extremes of this game's puzzle difficulties - ranging from blunt trial&error to cross-referencing in-game texts with assumed advanced knowledge of astrology - make this a difficult game to recommend. The graphics are lovely, the music is fine, the voice acting is acceptable. If the puzzle quality wasn't so all over the place this would be easier to recommend.

It's hard to describe why this game didn't do it for me. The art style is okay and the puzzles looked like they were going to be interesting but there was loads of pretty dull reading to do in order to get any sense of what the puzzles were about - which is okay if you enjoy that kind of thing but I wouldn't have bought it if I'd realised this. I didn't find it particularly logical even when I thought I'd found the info I needed in the text. The solutions to the puzzles still had a layer of…

One of the best games I've played - beautifully drawn and atmospheric. The puzzles are NOT too hard - just pleasingly tricky and the hints work fine. My only tiny niggle was that the English translation of the text could do with a proof read - only because it jars slightly with the perfection of the rest of the game. 100% worth playing.

I highly recommend this game, if you liked other games in the genre like the Rusty Lake series. Although the puzzles were a bit too dependent on reading texts for my liking, I found the general art style and a lot of the design choices phenomenal. Overall a good puzzle game with no flaws, if you have no problem with reading some texts.

This game first lost me at the abysmal opening narration. "I am the sexiest sexy woman and I love being sexy for men, but I'm also a supergenius who has studied everything and I will now list for you every -ology word the writers know, and also I'm going to keep repeating these facts over and over and over." It was bad fanfic. It reminded me of Phantom of Manhattan actually, in that way that a character can't just be special by virtue of being the protagonist, they have to be the specialest…

I understand why this game is so highly rated, i just couldn't really get into it. There is a lot of reading, a lot of information to consider and work into solutions, a lot of very different puzzles to get into. All of these are in and of itself positive traits of a game, here in combination it was overwhelming for me. If you never played games with a lot of riddles before, maybe start with another one and if you don't like them at all, don't even blink in this direction. I personally enjoyed it very much - finally my dusty brain cells had to do some work and not just connect the dots on standby. The raven is a lovely detail for hints and if you're stuck, do yourself a favor and feed it. In the beginning I didn't get, that I could turn around, so yeah... that. it's a unique little pnc. The English script is ROUGH, which doesn't help with the many riddles thrown in throughout the game. That said, the hint system is pretty generous and gives you a strong push in the right direction, so it kind of balances out. Only recommend for people that really like pnc's.

Not a bad game, but I expected it to soothe my nerves as opposed to requiring moon logic and outside help right from the get go without really grabbing my attention to be fair. I do like the art style and the atmosphere. But it requires lots of patience and attention. The guide (raven) could be a lot better (basically useless as of now), the main character annoying, but to begin with I was not the target for this game I am sure. I got it in a bundle, it is fine.

Comfy little puzzle game, solid intermediate difficulty for puzzle game lovers (vibes like The Room but in shorter and more story) I would not recommend it for a beginner that just wants an easy short game, as some of the puzzles require a way of thinking that does not come easy to someone that isn't used to these kinds of games

And it is unfortunately extremely rare to come across a game where these elements are integrated accurately. However, this game manages to achieve that. I usually love games like this, but this one really frustrated me. Maybe I'm not reading everything enough and missing some clues but I feel the puzzles are very arbitrary and too much based on trial and error. When you fail, the start of puzzle cut scene or between scene get repetitive and grating. There were a lot of genius sentences, quotes, writings that made me sit in front the screen and made me want to continue playing game. The puzzles are unique and challenging.
