Extreme run for Square-Enix only a handful of years ago when they made so much amazing stuff. Dungeon Encounters! God, Dungeon Encounters!

Dude its on Coral Island. Its a Stardew original. Its on Luma Island. Logon to Dinkum now. Fields of Mistria has it for you

unlabelledView post →Dude, this handheld boost mode might be a game changer. I did some quick tests with Harvestella and Tokyo Xanadu and they both look so much better on the Switch 2's 1080p screen. Even VNs like Tsukihime benefit from the resolution boost, with the game's font now being much more comfortable to read.

unlabelledView post →Harvestella is legitimately one of the coolest games of this entire generation. Do NOT overlook because farm games are not your thing. I won't spoil how far this game goes or how crazy it gets, but it is genuinely a WONDERFUL experience with an incredible score.
unlabelledView post →It's a fun game but broken so it can't be competed. I wouldn't recommend buying it as it's quite expensive for a game that can't be finished. The "Heavens Egg" Location is broken so the main story line can't be completed. Contacting the game developer doesn't work either.

unlabelledView post →Once again have not slept, due to Harvestella. This game is a MOTHAFUCKIN’ JRPG and I mean that in the best way. If you’re a fan of the genre, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you haven’t played this game.
unlabelledView post →I never ever see this game talked about but man what an enjoyable game and experience I had with this. This game mixes JRPG elements even a story with a farming sim and does it so well! I couldn’t recommend it more! #Harvestella @square-enix-games.com

unlabelledView post →Anytime a vaguely anime game shows up on my screen in a showcase, I whisper "Harvestella 2..." Because I love being both so right and very wrong.
unlabelledView post →Didn’t expect to get as hooked on Harvestella as I have been. It’s a perfect game for the switch/switch 2 or PC handheld. As fun as the game is, though, it’s unfortunate that it’s PC and Switch only. Xbox and PlayStation players who only use those platforms deserve to play it as well.
unlabelledView post →Thank you for going all that way to ask them for a new Harvestella game on my behalf, that was nice of you.
unlabelledView post →The first game I’ll probably play on the Switch 2 once I’ve finished up with Mario Kart is Harvestella. I’ve been waiting to play that with a stable frame rate and now that’s possible with the Switch 2.

unlabelledView post →Harvestella is a game you have to accept for what it is. As a farming game, action game, and RPG individually, it would feel kind of subpar; the farming is fairly shallow, special "festivals" and other such events do not occur, and seasons take a long time to rotate, meaning that variety does not come often. Compared to other action games, Harvestella's controls are a bit weirdly loose, combat techniques are limited, and basic enemy attacks cannot be avoided, meaning you will always be taking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Harvestella not getting the respect it deserves because it was marketed as a farming game with RPG elements, instead of a story driven JRPG with farming elements hurts my soul. If you like JRPGs with lovable characters, intricate side quests, and mind blowing stories, I implore you to give it a try
unlabelledView post →Since I started a new game in Harvestella, I have to post my favorite meme of this game (without spoilers) :)
unlabelledView post →Despite the Switch 2 not having an OLED screen, it is still very much a good screen. Harvestella is a very color rich game and it really pops on the switch 2 in handheld mode. Looks almost as vibrant as it does on my LG C2 OLED tv, so don’t let negative talk about the screen fool you.
unlabelledView post →back at the start i might have said if you already played all the rune factory games and this thing was on sale and you really needed one of these then yes pick it up i no longer feel this way after finishing the game the story was okay in a this is a very dumb ff story kind of way and even had a couple good moments the amount of time it took just to see that was not okay or good the individuals directly responsible for the combat and stamina systems should reflect upon their ancestors for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think about Harvestella very often! A fantastic, strange and extremely ambitious game sausage packed into the tinest possible framework. And it somehow works! If you're an RPG sicko but also dig a Rune Factory or whatever, I really think you should find time for it even now.
unlabelledView post →A jack of all trades is a master of none - that is the phrase that accurately sums up Harvestella. Now I thought the idea of an adventure game with RPG elements was a cool idea. After all - if games like Stardew Valley could incorporate battles against monsters and RPG elements, surely the kings of the RPG genre over at Square could have an interesting take on this idea, right? Well, that's what I thought for the very early game, but it soon became clear that it's less than the sum of it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy the gameplay of Final Fantasy XIV and the Xenoblade Chronicles series, you’ll very likely feel right at home playing Harvestella, even if you’re not big on farming sims. The game is a JRPG first. Story feels both classic and modern at the same time.
unlabelledView post →This is one of those games that you defiantly wait till it is on sale cause paying full price should be an insult. It's fine. It scratches that RPG itch for me and I do like the farming elements (which was the main reason I bought the game). But the RPG elements are annoying, to say the least. First there isn't a full map, instead just a mini map. Second, you have to go into the main menu to get to your backpack for healing items. So, if you are in the middle of a battle and need to pop a…

unlabelledView post →I like that this game introduces itself as a fantasy farming game, and then the plot almost IMMEDIATELY hits you with some wild sci-fi nonsense SUMMARY: This game has a lot going for it, but it does feel like a rushed or budget title. + Pretty music, pretty environments + Almost all keys can be rebound + Levels and skill trees (even if they're simple) + I like that I can form a party of people to adventure with + Some neat creature designs + A surprising amount of detail regarding…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was not what I expected it to be. I expected farming sim, building/crafting, relationship building and all of that is there, but I think the story is really what kept me playing and enjoying the time. Not only was the story what kept me hooked, but the story did not go where I thought it would, in a good way. The only issue I had with the story was that it would often create tension and urgency in a game where I felt taking care of my farm should be top priority. This made it feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really, it was the same problem in 2022 through early 2023. It's hard for any one individual game to get its time in the sun when Square Enix had to juggle marketing every single game. I still maintain that Harvestella was a major casualty of this shit.
unlabelledView post →Ok I cant believe I never reviewed Harvestella, I love harvestella, its so good. Even tho its been about 18 months since I last played it I still have really fond memories of playing this. My memories are not complete and some things are a bit hazy but I want to right this because I still care about this game. I wouldn't say Harvestella is the best farming game I've played, I also wouldn't say its the best JRPG or action game I've played, but I can say that it is good enough in both aspects to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game #23 - Harvestella Wow. Never have I ever wanted a game to end so quickly like this one. The combat & bosses were absolutely atrocious! Story is kinda eh as I zone out reading from the dialogue from time to time. Less said about dungeons the better... Time-management can get in the bin also

unlabelledView post →Alright, I guess it is time for me to write a review for this game now that I'm on my third playthrough. It's also surprising to see a number of negative reviews be upset about the farming sim aspect when this game was literally just a farming sim-lite as advertised. The main fault this game has is the price point. This is definitely not a $60 game lol. It's $40 at best so buy it when it's on sale if you're interested. The game's story isn't bad. It's actually decent and reminiscent of older…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was watching some video footage of Harvestella randomly, and wow, this actually looks really good. For some reason I had it in my head that it was a farming game in a more stripped down, mobile style rather than a full fledged RPG with farming sim elements. I kind of want it now.

unlabelledView post →This is not a Farming Sim with JRPG elements. It is an amazingly written JRPG with some farm sim on the side. As someone who's grown up on Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem and Persona, the plot of this overlooked gem genuinely shocked me (it GREAT ways) multiple times. Also: I have never been so invested in NPC sidequests, and I LOVE sidequests
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that's a "meh" at best. There's a lot to it, so it has that going for it, however, it's trying to be a mix between an ARPG and a farming sim....and it falls short and leaves you wanting in both regards. EVERYONES and i mean absolutely everyones story is sad, and depressing and just leads to miserable time playing it. I want to play farming sims for cosy feels, to escape the miseries of an already crappy world. Not with this game though, for some reason you have to…

unlabelledView post →man okay I'm finally digging into Harvestella and this game kinda fucks for real?
unlabelledView post →Surprised me with a genuinely compelling story (despite the slow start) and a solid OST that shines in key moments, especially during boss fights. The farming sim aspect didn't have as much impact as I thought, I barely had to grind besides planting whatever seeds I was receiving for free to be able to sustain myself with foods and upgrade my weapons to a decent level. It serves more like a side activity than a core gameplay loop. Combat felt clunky, definitely wouldn't recomment this game if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m working on an album which means I’m also diving into a farming game to cope with the stress 😂 My second run through Harvestella and god I wish more people had checked out this game, it’s so unexpectedly good 🥲
unlabelledView post →I will never forgive how critics refused to engage with Harvestella. A prime example of "Umm this game isn't what I made up in my head, so it's bad!" No! It's an amazing JRPG, whose dynamic gets shifted into slice of life elements. Meet the game where it's at, cook a meal for dungeon crawling 😌
unlabelledView post →After 140 hours, I have completed Harvestella! The game may seem very basic at first, but in the end, the gameplay loop was addictive enough to never get bored of it. The incredible story and its stellar soundtrack is what will make it an unforgettable experience.
unlabelledView post →Harvestella is such a wild game and I was so into it while playing it. I should draw something for it eventually.
unlabelledView post →Time for my final game of the summer. Let's see how it goes #Harvestella
unlabelledView post →Well, I played it all the way through and it was OK at best. If you want to play an actual farming game, Stardew or Sun Haven are infinitely better. If you want to play a compelling RPG, there are endless options out there that exceed this particular title. I would probably go for a 5/10. If you're unfamiliar with farming RPGs this would probably be a nice introduction into the genre, but as I previously stated, it pales in comparison to other RPGs that excel in their respective roles. I could…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yasushi Hasegawa shared this new artwork for the 3rd Anniversary of Harvestella today! I've spent 150 hours in this game and it's definitely one of my favourite RPGs this decade. The storytelling and soundtrack were outstanding, and the gameplay loop addictive enough.
unlabelledView post →If you like games like Stardew Valley and final fantasy then this is the game for you. It's Square Enix's first attempt for a farming game (as far as I know) and you can tell, it has it's flaws yes but I still think the game is worth the time. The combat is good, the job system is fun, the story is really beautiful and the farming is also pretty relaxing and fun. Only downside I personally had was that the story took a complete 180 when I was halfway through it and it felt like I HAD to go and…

unlabelledView post →I came here for my cute final fantasy farming sim what do you mean I’m being slapped with existentialism-- Back when this game dropped in 2022, a lot of people treated it as Square Enix’s answer to the big “chill cozy farming life sim” trend that surged during and after COVID. That sort of created a mismatch of expectations of players coming into it expecting something like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon. If anything, Harvestella is more of a JRPG in a farming sim trenchcoat. Which by itself…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Harvestella is a very good game for what it is as long as you go into it open minded. It is not your traditional final fantasy RPG that many fans have grown to expect from SE. Nor is it a traditional farming sim as it does not match the energy of Stardew Valley, any Harvest Moon title, or even Story of Seasons. What Harvestella is, is a cozy version of both, a cozy farm sim, and a cozy RPG. The combat is not overtly complex, and the farming takes very little energy. This is the perfect type of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game doesn't seem quite sure what genre it wants to be. It very definitely ISN'T farming simulator. Main loop is visual novel slash extremely lightweight action RPG (keep pressing left right button till the enemy dies). And yes, you have a farm and can grow plants and sell them for money. Not that there's much reason to do it, but you can. To be honest, practically nothing in the game works for me. I'm not much into mange visual style - and it particularly irks me that male character wear…

unlabelledView post →I really wanted to like this game. I didn't finish because it started to feel like a chore. Pros Combat is fun, as you gain party members you gain their 'Class" as well so you can experiment with different playstyles. I liked that farming was second to the main story/combat. You farmed to support your adventure. The farming has a lot of quality of life mechanics that unlock the more you farm. Main story was interesting. Cons Almost no character customization. Only one ugly hair style per…
