Finally, Stardew Valley delusionists don't have a leg to stand on. This is the pinnacle of Farming Life Sim, at long last on PC. Get lost women, no one can stop me from farming now! I mean, what are the odds I won't find love here either? It's like if Harvest Moon, Zelda and Pokemon was just one game. My wife’s boyfriend says it’s like Harvest Moon with blackjack and hookers. This one is definitely for nostalgia or for all the Raven bros out there. Rune Factory 3 finally got released on…

If you never played this game before, move along. Nostalgia is sadly the only reason I can possibly understand for all the positive reviews. This game technically plays fine. You can farm and fight and do things without bugs or errors. But mechanically, Rune Factory 3 is an exercise in frustration. It's death by 1000 cuts. Nothing you can single handedly point to as 'yes, this is why I dislike this game' but rather dozens of small annoyances that begin to pick at you. Let's just take it from…

I played the original RF3 on the DS some years ago and enjoyed it very much. So much I decided to play through all of the other RF games for the first time afterwards. I think this game is a very nice time-killer with loveable characters (as odd as each of them are, they're memorable and have good designs), a fun gameplay loop, and good writing that still holds up pretty well, despite some of the jokes feeling dated (..."I'm in my veggie era right now."). It feels satisfying and rewarding to…

9/10 Compared to RF4, the story is simpler, the crafting is simpler, ost is still godly and the romance is a bit more straightforward... but by god, the characters in this game are so unhinged and freaky that it becomes incredibly charming, It is wholesome af and I really enjoy it. I also ended up 100% it because the game is addicting as hell.

Wait what? How can i not recommend this game! Because (1) the original was better. So of course i can't recommend buying a game that got downgraded (text and voice, otherwise, sure, you won't understand the issue and this version has extra stuff and improvements like skip crafting time) + (<- as in the next one ALSO contributed) (2) The game was released AFTER RF5 and RF4S yet the people in charge did NOT bother implementing game mechanisms from rf4s to rf3s. But if voice, text and some…

Obviously, not as great as the succeeding games in the series, but still well worth your time. The correct order (From amazing to worst) is - excluding RF1+2): 4 > GoA > 3 > 5

I haven't powered through to end game yet and in fact hit a stopping point for the story (possibly a timegate) but I figured 20 something hours is probably a fair time to review. I think this is good but doesn't have the quality of life you would expect from later rune factory games. This is a visual upgrade to a ds game, I haven't played the original for a direct comparison, but the models definitely look really good, and the UI is crisp. I think they put more effort into the upgrade than…

A charming game, it's not as complex or crazy as 4, but it's the last game in the series to have an exclusively male protagonist, so a lot of work went into the bachelorettes, and they're all very well developed and fun to build relations with. Easy to beat before the first year is over.

My first game in the series, and I was really impressed. This is a complete package, with farming, relationships, combat, characters, charming (Not as complete as Stardew though). A lot of waifus as well (Karina the best for me) Maybe the only downside is its controls. The mapping doesn't feel quite alright, but can be overlook if one's not that exiggent

the new item/plant sprites look like clip art and very noticeably stick out the ai-upscaled background art looks bad most of the time no analog support, 8-way movement only even though the ds version had full analog movement using the touch screen 1:1 switch port, this game has no in-game pc settings like resolutions or rebindable controls still the best farming game of all time and the new models look great but you should probably just play the original

I love this game. It's a bit simpler than Rune Factory 4 but the story and cast is fantastic. I played probably hundreds of hours on the original DS release and the special edition is ALMOST as good. I highly recommend adding the original voice lines mod from the steam workshop cause when they redid the voice acting for the little snippets of text it was nothing like the original games. Poor Raven and Daria were hit the hardest. (I tested and that mod doesn't affect achievements incase you were…

Just finished my first run of RF3 Special after beating RF4 Special and RF5 and I gotta say there's a lot I really love about this one! Dialogue is witty and entertaining, the combat difficulty on Hard is just right, and the general pace of leveling up skills such as crafting feels great. There's better QOL in 4 Special like getting companions earlier, better overworld farms, and better control over shipping items, but I was incredibly engaged with all the systems here in RF3. (Also Karina my…

I finished Rune Factory 3 Special 😌 Very cute game, almost as good as the awesome RF4! I really love most of the bachelorettes, but in the end, Karina somehow managed to steal my heart before I knew it, so I had to marry her 😬 my RF ranking so far: 4 > 3 >>>>> 5. Can't wait for Guardians of Azuma 😍

If you only played RF4 so far here you can get some insight into Raven's development. A great Remaster of the 3ds original. Runs smoothly on the steamdeck. Great farming/dating RPG. I just wish they would add a female protagonist option.

Pros: - Great story and characters. - I played RF4 first and honestly, I enjoyed this game way more. Farming is more streamlined with you only having to manage one large farm rather that 5 smaller ones in RF4. Similarly, managing your pets is also more streamlined with only 1 big upgradable monster barn, not 2 barns for each of your 5 barns like in RF4. Graphically, this game also seems more polished, maybe because this is a remaster while RF4 seems to be more of a port. - Thankfully, this…

Genuinely on par with Rune Factory 4, and I am 100% serious when I say this. Rune Factory 4 is easily my favorite game of all time, it's super hard to even come close to it. When I heard that Rune Factory 3 was getting a special edition, I was ESTATIC! It took me a while to finally get to it, but I finally did! I really blew through the story. So this may be on me because I 100% did not read the details on this after coming from later editions of Rune Factory but I didn't realize when they went back and updated this game that they didn't update the love interests so you can romance them regardless of gender. And I really do not want to play as a boy in order to romance who I want. I also felt the graphics and tool sensitivity was updated enough to make it worth playing this years after release when there are plenty of farming sims…

Probably one of the most addicting games out there. The graphic update is such a treat and it looks and feels perfect on the deck. I never get tired of the conversations with the townsfolk as every character personality I enjoy in some way. Grinding the dungeons late game...the town worried about me on why I was gone for 3 in game days. Also, elf wife for life!
