Note: The Art Book is not missing- you grab it from the Store Page using the link to the "manual" on the right. Yes, it helps a LOT to have this, but the puzzles aren't impossible without it. Just old-school hard. This is a game to buy if you have very particular tastes. It is a game to avoid if you won't find its weird logic compelling, as without that, its flaws would make it more annoying than charming. Things some will like: Surreal Art Style Unusual Story Old-school Adventure Game…

I got this game as a gift, not from the devs or anything. TLDR: it's cool but broken/unplayable. I was really excited, because it's a really neat looking game, but also the kind of thing I probably wouldn't buy for myself. The fact that it was a gift gave me extra incentive to actually play it, rather than let it linger in my library. It's a really cool game. The production value is good. The sound is really nicely done. The visual effects work really well, so well that I was mad that I…

Decided to give this game a try due to the storyline description and art style. While I love the graphics, the dialogue took me out of the story almost immediately. The "humor" in the dialogue came off as a bit surreally juvenile to me...I didn't find it clever, nor did it add dimension to the story/characters. It just didn't feel like it fit the atmosphere or figures in the game. There were some other minor aspects that I disliked (such as the set-up of the mouse controls, and the limited…

This game is nearly impossible to play. It has strage mechanics that are not at all creative and have no audio and video settings leaving the player with strange screen proportions and ugly sounding audio. The voice actors mummvle alot and when placed throuh a modulator to create a "ghost affect" they are nearly unintellegable. Even with the 90% off coupon this game is not worth the 60 cents i spent on it

ACHEVMENT UNLOCKED! I always wanted to be the first to comment on a game. ironicly the game is in some odd resolution that makes my monitor desplay an "nivaid format" so couldnt play the game. nice music though

It's an odd game. I liked the visuals, the dialogues and the quirky characters, all this strange vision of after life. To progress you have to solve puzzles. Not inventory based puzzles (there is no inventory at all), but enigmas. An example: you have to understand obscure hints to know in which order you must click on symbols on a card, and the guard will let you pass to the next place. I found these puzzles often more tedious than fun. You slowly travel from screen to screen to see the…

A classic Point and Click slow-pace puzzle game set in a beautiful surrealist world. I have to admit that the art is what first draw me to this game. The game consists of seven acts (“dreams”) where you play as a ghost named “reader” aiming to go to “the other side”. Helped by your sidekick “writer”, you advance in the game by solving puzzles. Some puzzles are kind of hard to figure out. You will need perseverance, good observation skills and to pay careful attention to the dialogues with your…

I like the visuals, but the clumsy interface, the unfitting background music, the obscure puzzles and the lenghty dialogs with the annoying voice overs killed it for me. If you want to go for it nevertheless, I'ld recommend to turn the ingame sounds completely off. With some custom music in the background it can just become better, and without the voice overs (which are basically monologues of the developer with some distracting muffle/echo effects) even more!

okay to start off the game is amazing or rather The Art is impeccable truly a treat for the eyes everything is just so good looking 10/10 The story is rather odd in a charming way the characters feel and speak in a childish manner like 4 year olds with thesaurus's whilst i still dont unterstand a whole lot about the story i can say i enjoyed it (story wise the whole game feels as though you put on a movie skip half of it and dont watch the ending kinda it's hard to explain) and the music is…

This is one of those "I really wanted to love this game" reviews. I tried. I tried really hard. I read the reviews and the most common complaints just made me more eager to play. I love old school, cryptic, puzzles and I didn't expect to figure out all of the puzzles on my own. Many of the old games came with some kind of printed material that might be needed in the game. One of the things I enjoyed was taking a puzzle solution I whiffed on and going back to discover what detail in the…

A classic Point and Click game, so that is what you will get, the game offers everything a classic of the genre would need with some very unique art, i would recommend this game, there are other reviews that offers more in depth details hould you wish to know more, but if you are a hidden object fan then you got yourself a game.

This adventure has an interesting graphics style, but that’s about all. Unintuitive puzzles, uninteresting music and boring dialogs made the game quite a chore to finish. I just couldn’t attune to it.

Ghostdream is a point and click adventure game that swaps terrible pixel graphics for a combination of terrible hand-drawn art and terrible pixel graphics. The gameplay interface is pretty clunky and annoying as you float around and wondering what you're doing with your life. Despite being released in 2016, the game has no widescreen, instead displaying pillarboxed. I wonder if the developers made this in a cave with primitive computers from 1998. The low quality graphics, poor gameplay…

Unique Artstyle, and a bizare attmosphere that is near impossible to describe. A lot of increadibly strange dialogue some oldscool riddles and equally bizare characters. I payed about 60 cents for this and feel like that was fitting somehow. As I only played only a part of it. It is something else. Not something "good" but absolutly completely diffrent. So when it is on a high percent sale, get it and try to understand what the hell this game is and why it even exists. (Note: There is a…

Ghostdream, developed by ArkHouse and published by Forever Entertainment S. A., is a point-and-click adventure that places atmosphere and interpretation at the center of its design. Rather than guiding players through a clearly defined narrative, it presents a fragmented, dreamlike journey through a surreal afterlife, where meaning is implied rather than explained. It’s a game that asks for patience and curiosity, rewarding those willing to engage with its ambiguity while offering little in the…

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

The game looked really cool when I first bought it but can't even play it. It just stops at the main menu and after that I can't click anything or even start it up. Not even shut it down. Not without alt+f4 anyways. Broken game.

Ghostdream is basically what happens if Tim Burton and a heavy dose of surrealism had a baby. You play as a ghost, and the whole game feels like a beautiful, trippy fever dream. The music is an absolute vibe, though some puzzles might make you want to haunt the developers for a hint. If you liked Fran Bow, just grab this and thank me later. It’s weird, it’s sad, and it’s a total hidden gem.

A Seinfeld-style comedy with wonderful art and weird puzzles (the solutions are in the manual except an infamous pixel hunt that you can find the solution in YouTube videos). It is worth it, even if it is to appreciate these beautiful arts.

Good game, cool art If I were to make any suggestions it would be - Make the "hidden lights" puzzle suck less (maybe add a bigger area? pixel hunting is annoying and makes it hard to be sure youre on the right track) - maybe add an option to turn off the voice acting because apparently a lot of people dont like it (i thought it was fine) Overall I found the puzzles to be good, they definitely make you think and I really like the art style

I couldn't quite decide between a positive or negative review. I loved the art style, the music, and the premise of the story. I would definitely not call it a waste of time, and I very much recommend reading the commentary book ("Art Book"), though perhaps after playing the game, for the full experience. Though in the commentary book, the dev mentioned that the style and abject difficulty of the puzzles was intended, I couldn't bring myself to like it. I don't consider this to be a fault of…

Thumbs up and thumbs down doesn't offer a whole lot of nuance. There are parts of this game that I love and parts that I hate. The art and music are absolutely gorgeous and the writing is fun, but the city puzzle is a nightmare. Most of them just need some note-taking, but that one requires you to click on almost exact pixels with no specific indication of where. There is a clue given for where the spots are, but the clickable space is incredibly tiny. Even with a tutorial, they're a chore to…

Quirky puzzle game that looks like a point and click adventure: Positives: +As with all ArkHouse titles, great artwork and a good OST +Compactly designed levels: each area is a small set of screens that serve as both dialogue between characters and clues for this section's puzzle, with no needless backtracking between locations: once a puzzle is completed, the game moves on to a new location, without the possibility to go back. +Absurd dialogue and character reasoning are quirky and even…

This game has a very beautful art work, voice and music choice for its theme which I really enjoyed and kept me playing. The story, while being fair, was enough to keep the theme interesting enough to be invested in the character, Reader, and his companion, Writer. While some acts had some satisfying puzzles like Act 1, 2 and 5, the remaining acts were very annoying as you had to find the right pixel to click on to progress further in the game (had to use a guide to find their exact locations).…
