My first impressions are fairly positive. As someone who really loves Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and MTG style games converted into PVE focused video games this does have potential to be something great as it moves further along early access. I'll begin by saying at this point in time there is not a lot of content, and the developer immediately…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game primarily out of respect for what it represents. It's rare to find a single-player trading card game on Steam that isn't a roguelike, making it a standout in its genre. It brings back nostalgic memories of playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Day of the Duelist and GX Duel Academy on the GBA. While the core gameplay is unique and intriguing, the game suffers from significant progression and balancing issues that detract from the overall experience. Story (3/10) Almost no plot, just a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final Stardust? More Like Final Snoozefest." I really wanted to like Final Stardust: Cosmic Nexus. The concept had all the right ingredients: a card-based strategy system inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh! paired with creature summoning reminiscent of Pokémon. On paper, this should have been my new obsession. But instead, I found myself bored and disappointed within the first hour—something I rarely say, especially about a game with such nostalgic promise. The combat, which should be the core thrill of a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final Stardust: Cosmic Nexus is a Card Battler game featuring Visual Novel elements – which per se does already sound intriguing, but there are quite some notes to take in count! Note: This review was made during early access 0.5.5 version. Is it worth purchasing so far? I personally do not feel like this should have been released as an early access just yet, instead as a Demo trial of the game. The main reason is, as cool as the premise of the whole may sound, there is really not much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact that this gem of a game is sitting at "mostly positive" while absolute trash is promoted on steam is quite depressing. This is hands down on of the most fun TCGs I've played and boy, have I played all of them, at a competitive level. If you want a lighthearted TCG with focus on gameplay, making broken decks and getting that Duel masters and early Yu-gi-oh nostalgia, this is it. My only complaint is that there isn't more of it. If the developer does decide to make a sequel, I hope a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing yugioh duel links for years, stopped due to not friendly ways of getting the cards, returning on rush duels and now totally tired of free to play no user friendly card games, i try to look into some card games for single purchase and play. I can say without a doubt that Final Stardust: Cosmic Nexus is a wonderful game that really scratch the itch of playing a CCG with no need of micro transactions. Easy to learn, easy to play, and a complete joy of discover sinergies and building…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fans of Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh will love this deck-building card battler with great graphics. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/QCzGxWsH9Ug In this game, you use different elemental cards to defeat your AI opponent. You can see in a special table which element is more effective against another element. On each turn, you must place monster cards on the field. You can upgrade monsters with other cards or sacrifice extra cards in exchange for resources. After completing your turn, you attack…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like others already said, the game is not bad in theory. But being forced to grind out the boringly easy difficulties for EVERY SINGLE opponent first, before you are allowed to play against them where they are using a real deck is killing this game for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, but like...who thought it would be fun to make the player sit through the enemy spamming lv1s over and over for every single npc? Just makes it so repetitive and boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was hoping this game would scratch the itch of the old Yu-Gi-Oh world championship games, but unfortunately it fell quite short. In terms of story, there basically isn't one. You start the game, are told to go battle people, and that's it. Even after you complete the last battle the credits simply roll immediately afterwards without so much as a text box to give any story. The characters are equally underdeveloped. You get one interaction per link level with them, usually consisting of a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just started to play this game, I am impressed by the dedication and love that the developer is putting into it. I am actually looking forward for more content, this game is pure dopamine for my little brain: cards, cool monsters, evolutions, customisation and a fun battle system. I will look more into the main quest line and I hope the developer will introduce a tournament mode (even against the AI would be very cool!) I will keep a close eye to this project! Also one more thing I would love…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please note this review is written during the 0.5.5 release. Let's talk about the good first: The premise is interesting with a card based game with visual novel elements. As an ex-fan of TCG games (Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, and MtG) this was up my alley. The art seemed interesting and well polished. Navigation within the UI was easy enough. The initial introduction to the world was interesting as well. The not so great: Does this feel like early access ready? No. It feels more like a demo…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saying this is a bit painful, I was a Yu Gi Oh kid and I really want to like this game but I can't recommend it at all... Its mechanics are fun, and I think what it represents as a single player TCG is very valuable these days, since there are hardly any games in this genre. It is clearly inspired by the Yu Gi Oh Tag Force series, which I enjoyed a lot as a kid and which brought back a lot of nostalgia for me. However, I cannot recommend this game. It forces you to fight the same opponents…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok game but has a serious difficulty issue. It makes no sense to force the player the fight level 1 bots for more than 42 matches, and then another 42 for level 2 bots, and another 42 for level 3 bots while the game only really requires thinking at bot lvl 4+. Tho very good art.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to like it but the tutorial isn't enough and the game is just very jank and while I was expecting something like a Yugioh Duel Academy for my Steam Deck, this just isn't it. Plus it seems like support has ended so its unlikely this is going to get better with time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know that game you played as a child that you played for countless hours and loved it? But that game was actually really bad but since you were a child you didnt realise it was actually bad? This is that game Very simple yet with tons of possibilities to discover and tinker Somewhat easy to get new cards while still having hard cards to get to motivate the grind - yet not extremelly hard/impossible But the biggest red flag is: There are 21 oponents and each one have 5 dificulty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came for CCG and booster packs, left because the combat is beyond dumbed down. To be fair, it says it's a casual game, but i still can't get over how shallow it is. Booster packs also contain very few different cards (but maybe you unlock more after you progress, no clue). Sorry, this one had to be a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As stated by the other reviews, this game has the worst opening set of levels in history. Imagine if every trainer up to the second gym or so had a team consisting of six metapods. But even beyond that, the game just isn't super interesting. There are no "secondary" card types, like instants, trainer cards, or spells. Just creatures, giving a big "mobile game" vibe. The creatures are quite nicely animated though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has its bumps, but overall a fun and engaging CCG adventure that wears its inspirations on its sleeves. Great for fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! and Hearthstone alike. Full review: https://youtu.be/_WqX3fNweKw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First Card Battler I have ever played and it was truly a blast!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like what Yu-Gi-Oh would be like if every card creature was a Djinn from Golden Sun and they punched each other like Pokemon. Cool card game this here right here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final Stardust: Cosmic Nexus Patch during review: 0.5.6 This game popped up on my Steam Queue recently at a sale price, and given that I love playing TCG based games I decided to dip my foot in for a test. While playing it, I believe there is a lot of potential in this game. However, The content that is available at this current patch is not something I would consider applicable, or ready for an EA release for purchase. The content that is currently out is mild tester content, which I believe…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty neat little indie card game. I enjoy it even if it takes a bit to get used to it. If I had a complaint it's that your opponents are pretty weak early on, and playing against some of them can get mindnumbing. But overall it's pretty cool, with a little evolution mechanic for each card to boot. I'd love a mobile version of this, which is something I don't say often. That said, $15 might be a bit high if you're here for a really engaging storyline or anything like that. There's a basic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking at the screenshots for this one I'd really expected to be buying an indy Yu-Gi-Oh GX clone, but this turned out to be something entirely different. It falls more into the genre of "developer that doesn't know about CCGs makes a CCG" which is surprisingly common these days, and Final Stardust ended up being a fantastic entry into it. The thing about these variation of CCGs is that they tend to lack many staples of card play, and introduce unique gimmicks or focus. This game's major…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple but fun single player CCG. The UI is somewhat amateur, but this is primarily a solo developer and it ultimately functions well enough. Make sure to view the tutorial in the pause menu before trying your first match.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of playing a single-player card game. When I was a kid I got to look forward to the new World Championship Yu-Gi-Oh games every year, going from the GBA to the DS. Then the Tag Force games on the PSP. And I've always been a fan of Japanese and Japanese-inspired collect-things-and-battle-with-them games. First let's start with the actual card game. This game has a mana system like Heartstone-style games, with banking energy like Legends of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclosure: I received a free review copy of this product from https://www.keymailer.co #finalstardustcosmicnexus #keymailer I really enjoy this game, but it is in early access, so it could use some development. For example, characters should be able to choose between male and female roles. New players would benefit greatly from a tutorial. There is a part of the game where the cards turn black and have no graphics, but this is minor at best. Overall, the game is good for what it is; I spent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game, and explore the card mechanics, but I keep encountering game breaking bugs. Oftentimes card targeting locks the game up, and that means a reset, and not getting currency to buy card packs. This game is basically an early alpha build of a card game with some actual potential. I could deal with the lack of content or missing features, but the bugs present in the actual card battles make it unplayable at the moment. That said, I really like the creature evolving…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still on early access, but I can see some promise and potential. I look forward to seeing how the game will evolve and improve over time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has its interesting gameplay where monster card can be used as upgrades and spells. The game world is simple just like some old YGO console games where you just choose someone on the map to fight and get reward to buy packs. Unfortunately in this modern gaming era, that metagame feels boring and meanwhile there are a lot of NPCs, there is no variety in their strategies and you have to play a ton of boring low level duels to eventually reach a real game. The game is abandoned without…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game, it eases you into the rules with the slowly increasing difficulty for each of the characters and it has a really nice balance of cards for deckbuilding. I also really like the characters if I had any criticism it would be that I wish I could see more of these characters and their world. Great gift for anyone who likes card games but has been worn down by how overly complicated and overloaded other games have gotten. Its really a breath of fresh air!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is more or less a response to TrumpObama's review calling this game Final Snoozefest. Reading that review almost stopped me from buying this game. I gave it a try for whatever reason and disregarded the hesitation I got from reading the negative reviews. The combat is not mind-numbingly dull. Of course the AI will not use powerful cards in the early game. Their decks get better as the player gets better.' There is a tutorial that explains pretty much every mechanic. Unless this is a new…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i can only recommend when it is discounted since i think the gameplay system loop has flaw, but i can definitely see the dev work hard on the other thing like content and graphics after 5 to 7 card combat, there is always situation that a player is filled with monster in the lane while the other side keep summoning to block lane to prevent direct attack, there is a lack of variety in the gameplay, which player got most lane occupied baically equal to auto win and there is no way replacing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game reminds me of the old yugioh and duel masters games. It's such a nostalgia blast. The music, art, and gameplay is really good. I like that every card has regular art as well as pixel art and animations to go along with it. I want more single player card games like this that aren't complicated. It's exactly the kind of game I've wanted to play. It's fantastic for an indie game made by one guy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a simple and fun single player TCG. My one gripe is the 1 star battles are extremely easy and boring so it's painful to have to beat all 21 opponents THREE TIMES at 1 star in order to unlock 2 star.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't often leave a review but this game to me is what a ccg should be. Really good gameplay. The story is classic anime stuff, but the gameplay, THE GAMEPLAY, oh man. Really, really good CCG. If you are a fan of yugioh style npcs, marvel snap mechanics, but with duel masters combat, this game is for you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have been a huge fan of Yu-Gi-Oh, or other card games for a period of your life, you would nderstand why the atmosphere of that kind of experience is not replicable in modern video games. Players search always for new exciting experiences, while the lack of new productions forced us to play hours and hours onto games like Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force or, on PC and Consoles, Yu-Gi-Oh Online. We learnt that game as our pockets, living it as an alternative dimension in which all those monsters were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun card game with creative system! The battle system is easy to learn, and the difficulty can be adjusted as needed. Definitely a must try for card game enthusiast!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun. It's definitely worth the $15. The art is good, the mechanics are quite good and being singleplayer is a huge plus. There's only one single game mode, the campaign, and while it's fairly lengthy it's not especially engaging. It wears thin by the end. The AI isn't good enough to be a consistent challenge especially since you'll eventually just crack enough packs to build every deck to beat every opponent. It is cool that you can play singleplayer, build a thousand different decks…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aesthetically pretty fun with some clear inspirations (Sort of reminds me of Digimon if they borrowed the motif from Golden Sun's Djinn), with the gameplay taking similar Digimon/Pokemon cues and mixing in the Marvel Snap three-lane concept. It's an interesting blend. However, I think the UI is missing a lot of polish and holds the game back a lot (the back button on every menu is in a different spot, no way to view the rulebook or game settings during battle, some minor typos or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is like Cardfight Vanguard but without rearguard, vanguard and trigger for luck factor. This game plays like Yu-Gi-Oh + Cardfight Vangard
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cant recommend a game that doesn't even have a tutorial
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Early Access 0.6.6, review may change at a later date. Played this game for a bit so far and it's been fun. Sure, it's Early Access, so it's not fleshed out, but it's a nice spin on traditional TCGs that I've always enjoyed (namely Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, Naruto, Dragonball Z, and many others). I started with the Jupiter deck and the games I've played felt very fair and balanced, and I'm excited to see what the future brings. Pacing-wise it plays like YGO Duel Links…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to make sure that this is emphasized: this game is in EARLY access. Like, quite early, to the point where major gameplay mechanics are still being considered for overhaul. That being said, even with the game in its most simple state, I am having an incredible time. TCGs and CCGs are a genre that I've always had a love for, and Final Stardust is hitting almost every note that I love about them. At present, there are four primary deck colors that can be mixed and matched as you see fit,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a silly little grindy thing. Don't expect a story other than "beat people at cards just because". However, I love these sorts of games, so if you are into trying to figure out cool builds in a card game, it's a fun time for a little while. Get it on sale though, for certain. Also; Player 2 - Turn 1: Kisu, Dark Chipairo, Kawaika. GG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept but ultimately kinda bland, lacks basic features like replacing placed Planos or mulligan (not required but not being able to replace placed Planos can be a pain). Early game is too easy and it takes too long to get to the point where the rivals use proper decks and the gameplay loop starts getting stale real quick
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like CardG this is easy to learn and chiller game. worth it even get thrill buying boosters with in game curenncy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You have to beat almost every duellist 9 times to progress which is insane, I'm steamrolling the game and I'm spending all my time beating up children, this is like bringing a meta decks to locals to face a kid with a Dark Magician starter deck
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to play this on the steam deck rn its too hard since you cant see the details of the cards untill they're played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't play past the character creator
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thumbs up because it's one of the few modern games of this genre, but this is more like a mixed review. Basically you have all of the pieces necessary for a solid experience, but they are not arranged in the right way. As others have said, the problem of this game is that the campaign consists of playing against each duelist over and over again until you beat them in their highest difficulty. A more linear approach (play against a couple of lv 1 duelists, then a few lv 2s, then lv 3s, etc.)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Without sounding dismissive, I'd call this game 'cute.' How 2 Draw Anime meets a competent card game wearing its influences on its sleeve - it's actually really charming. The music kinda jams, too, even if it sounds a little too close to the leitmotif to being stuck in an early JRPG grind. It's got good ideas, right? Like a Digiokemonsters Links style that tried its damnedest to cut all the nonsense. By the dev's own admission, (in-game no less!) the mission statement of this is to end a duel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is really good. BUT there are a few important things missing and flawed. -I wanna play against harder decks/opponents without these board conditions forced upon me. There is simply the option to turn it off missing. -200 Cards are not enough. Trading Card Games need a lot of variety for different decks. Here it falls a bit short. -So many times cards were played i didn's choose, (And Yes I definitely clicked on another one) wich is just incredibly annoying. The card…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed playing this, just needs to be expanded upon. It was really fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played an hour and a half, to test the game out. Understand the reviews, feeling hard done by - but it is definitely value for money at 12.79. Not much of a story, just littie text cutscenes when you talk to the characters. Gameplay, is YuGiOh Lite with some Pokemon card game evolutions thrown in. Having played YuGiOh in the past, there is a definite place for something less complex in the market place. If I have time to play more, I will. I hope I see opponent play with more variety…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game kinda need to be expanded upon, but the basis are here, it is a cool mix between Cardfight Vanguard, Hearthstone and Marvel Snap fot its gamrplay and Yu-Gi-Oh (human characters) and Pokémon (Card arts) for the visual style. It's also very easy to get the hang of the game, as the mechanics are quite simple (but can still be deep, with a level of deck building, obviously, and synergies between the cards, as in any good CCG). I hope that further updates will bring a multiplayer mode, as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring campaign.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple and easy. Gets very redundant after a while however. But for an indie game I got on sale I have enjoyed it so far. It's a good background game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the one hand it's a little too easy for my taste, on the other I had such a blast with the mechanics that I dumped 8 hours into it on my day off. I paid $5 for this game, but would say it's probably worth <=$10. I think your average player will take a liiiiiiiiittle longer to beat the game than me. Only suggestions would be a side story mission, or a blatant "the AI cheats now" challenge difficulty, or a local hotseat multiplayer mode - both for local games with friends and for fighting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In short, if you aren't so into card games that in the past you've bought and collected booster boxes in real life with experience of SEVERAL card games under your belt...you're gonna have a bad time. And if you ARE an extreme card player...you're also gonna have a hard time for a different reason. The difficulty is unreasonable to start with, and the difficulty curve is nasty. I was annoyed with all the constant tutorials at the start, one even telling me 'If you want to change your avatar,…
