A charming little 3D puzzle game with a lot of Portal and The Talos Principle DNA in it. Its visual style feels like it borrows a bit from The Wittness, but going for a decicively mythiological theme. The core gameplay mechanic is quite simple: You swap objects locations in a level, which leads to a lot of "get objects where you want them to be, while also beeing where you want to be yourself so you can solve stuff". It's good fun and while It has not reached "nail bitting hard" levels so…

Nementic Games has released another gem. A Divine Guide To Puzzle Solving was a fantastic puzzle adventure that I think anyone can enjoy. It is on the shorter side, but a nice little break from reality and an easy romp through a beautiful world. The puzzle mechanics involve locating cubes or balls and then swapping them or moving them to specific locations to trigger something to progress. Be it powering a door, catching a platform, or a timed swap to get a sphere somewhere it otherwise won't…

A Divine Guide To Puzzle Solving, or: how to never realize your potential. The game is terribly short (under two hours) and has only one main mechanic, swapping two objects with each other. This could lead to many interesting puzzles, but stays incredibly basic throughout the entire game, with the most interesting thing being that you have to use the momentum of balls to activate switches in a few levels. The game only has 16 levels and never really gets hard, and then it's over before you…

I played their escape-room style puzzle games in the EXIT series on mobile before. As I really liked their puzzle design, getting this for less than ~7€ was a no-brainer for me. A Divine Guide does not disappoint. It starts off easy but soon you’ll reach level that really get you thinking – and reach those light bulb moments when suddenly everything clicks. Once again really nice brain teasers with simple yet relaxing visuals. Only issue for me is the lack of customizable controls, as I play…

I'm not feeling it... This game checks all the boxes of the Portal-like puzzle game: Self contained puzzle rooms (or floating islands), objects to activate lifts or the portal to the next level, the special ability is switching objects with each other and barriers to stop you from doing that. Well, and the disembodied voice testing you, which turns out to be the end boss. The puzzles start simple and slowly teach you the mechanics - that works fine. Soon, you are required to fiddle with…

I have to say, I bought Tobla reluctantly after trying the demo. Whilst most of it was fine, I was dreading Tobla’s constant dialogues. They weren’t only plenty, but they were annoying too. The game was trying to pass off a god acting like a spoiled brat and trying to be funny with it. Luckily though, the dialogues do improve slowly in the full game. They become shorter, more serious and more relevant to the story. All of it culminates in a satisfying finale. The game is often compared with…

It's not awful, it's really not.....but it is pretty bog-standard puzzle game fare ala any game where you must move blocks around onto certain pressure plates to solve puzzles with a few really neat twists that unfortunately don't overcome the been-there-done-that feeling that permeates the whole game. The biggest negative and it is what ultimately swung me from a tepid "recommend" to a half-hearted "don't recommend" is that the premise of the semi-omniscient narrator/puzzle coordinator who…

Overall a cool idea and the first part was really enjoyable. The second part though felt a bit... overstating its welcome. It became just more and more annoying with the same mechanics. The story was okay, the world nice. And if there would have been a bit more variety, it coulda been really cool. Like this so... I see the potential, but can't fully recommend it.

I mean it's an incredibly short and surface level puzzle game, with very few interesting puzzles and barely any mechanics. I did appreciate the bomb puzzles since they were more in depth, but only about 3 of them in the entire game gave me any pause to really get through, and the boss fight fell totally flat. It's almost like playing through the first few areas of something like Talos Principle or Entropy Center in depth and length, or a demo/proof of concept (like Narbacular Drop was to…

mid Edit: the developer understandably requested me to expand on my review. ADGTPS is a 3d swap puzzle game in which a god has granted you temporary immortality (or something like that) and wants you to solve puzzles in the afterlife realm (or something like that). The god seems initially friendly but sinister undertones set in as you progress further, she's also full of sarcasm and 'witty' one liners (tired and done to death). Her voice actor is pretty engaging though and does her very…

Most of the 3-hour playtime is because I left the game running, paused, while I ate dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and lazed about for a while before returning to my PC. I only ever got 5-6 puzzles in. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but I can't stand the narrator. This game is another entry in a genre of Portal-likes that I tend to enjoy when they don't suffer from a sadly common flaw: Trying to give their game a GlaDOS, missing the mark, and polluting their game with a regrettable fount…

If you're at all like me, and I know I am, you gotta know the goddess-figure in the game changes her tone over time. But at the outset, all that basic-level sarcasm wore so thin I turned off her voice. At my first hour I had taken pause to write a screed of a review that was all uppercase, fire and fury. I think I even wrote, "Leave me alone, tobla...rone!" Ooooh. Acid burn, me. But yes, I turned off her voice. Her audio was quite good quality; it was clear, well-enunciated, no…

To give context for the following, note that I played about 90 minutes in total and reached puzzle #6 before deciding the rest wasn't worth my time even with a guide. Literally just a significantly worse Portal knockoff, which I really should have caught onto when they all but admit in the game description that it does not contain any original ideas... and also does not contain portals. The only mechanical addition is swapping physics objects' positions, with puzzles constructed around…

This is a tentative thumbs-up from me from the assumption my experience with this game was just me and won’t be like that for everyone. I honestly shot myself in the foot a little bit with this one as I really wanted to like it and the rating maybe made my expectation for it higher than it should have been. This is in no way a bad game, but it definitely didn’t click for me personally, and by the end I was actually just frustrated and tense for a few different reasons. It started off pretty…

So I have just finished the game in around 3 hours and really loved it. To be honest the only reason it took me that long was that I Was "savoring" the game and taking it slow, because I noticed in some youtube videos that people were finishing it in under 1 hour so I knew the game was somewhat short. I am a big fan of FPS puzzlers and I can say the dev created something very nice and with personality here. I love the stylized graphics, the humor is good (TOBLA's ramblings are enjoyable) and…

Although the mechanic is nothing new and the game isn’t very long, this is still a decent puzzle game. As is typically the case, you take the role of a silent protagonist who appears in the game's world. An eye in that wall greets you immediately, claiming to be a puzzle architect. It needs a test subject for its new puzzles, and you are the lucky volunteer. Don't worry, the eye is everywhere and will encourage you with a cheerful voice after each task is completed. The scenery is vibrant and…

This game sits right in the middle between Portal & Talos Principle both from a mechanics and narrative point of view. Not to easy, not too difficult, looks great, awesome soundtrack that helps that puzzle-flow definitely worth your money for < 10 euros. Edit: Finished the game. Great experience :) There should be more games like this - short, satisfying, challenging. Could cost 12€ imho and would still be well worth it!

A great puzzle game with a neat mechanic. I love the art style with its unique vegetation and flying islands - really charming. The game is strict linear like Portal and could learn from more open-world puzzle games such as The Witness and The Talos Principle. However, for a small game like this, it's totally fine and probably fitting. The puzzle design is very easy in the beginning but becomes very tricky after the first five puzzles or so.

More like a divine guide on boring puzzles. Too much reliance on guessing ball physics with no real indicators that an attempt was far from correct. Made for frustrating levels with no reward. I can get by on lack of story, but the puzzle design was just bad.

I played this on my Steamdeck. Wanted to have the tickle of a nice mental challenge while staying comfy at my couch and that worked out great :D While some of the larger levels dropped to 40 FPS, it was at a stable 60 for most of the game. Gameplay wise I cant complain. You have an evil narrator voice that creates just the right amount of spite in you to solve well defined puzzles. I just really dislike puzzle games that start out with static logic but then the only difficulty increase is making them time-based where you have to click on things really fast or move across the room in time to click on something really fast. Mostly because then my Mum can't play them.

If you're vulnerable to motion sickness, don't play this one Edit after completion: otherwise also just not that good of a game. It's short, the voice is annoying and the puzzles are not that special and rely more on placing restrictions on you than on creativity with the power you are given.

I really liked this one. Although you can compare the overall vibe to games like Portal, The Talos Principle and The Witness, it has its own unique spin. The story and gameplay are more Portal, while the visuals are more The Witness. The puzzles are challenging but never frustrated me. One can clearly see that a lot of thought was put into the puzzledesign, and it also has a decent difficulty curve (so far for me! Haha, lets see how it works out later). I can imagine, if some friends sit beside me on later levels it will allow for some good banterful discussions, when all the braingears are trying to work out…
