positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty old but I still play it, no other game has the fine balance between fun and technicality like this one. Amazing game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is basically a remake of F-22 Lightning 2. It was released in 1999, so the graphics are obviously low quality compared to new titles, but they are on-par with other flight simulation games at that time. As far as flight simulators go, this game is more action oriented than the true-to-life flight dynamics one might find in X-Plane or Microsoft Flight Simulator. The first several Quick Missions work you through a tutorial on the game basics and the last training mission is a full…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Always Loved Novalogics fighter games. It does seem a shame that games like this are not being made anymore. The worst example is as a Star Wars fan I loved the X-Wing series, XWA was made over a decade ago now and no signs of another fighter sim to come. Seems the same with novalogic and jet fighter games too :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted this game, because it makes me remember a big chunk of my childhood. BUT... when I pay for a game on Steam, I expect it to be patched at least to the degree, that it becomes even remotely playable. I don't plan on spending hours of research and fiddeling with options and downloads, to make this game run. I have done that with another game in the past and after that, I had major problems with newer games, because the pc was now opted for the old game. I'm not doing that again! Please…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to get this game working fine: 1. Install the patch from NovaLogic that adds more resolution options and fixes bugs http://www.novalogic.com/file_download.asp?ID=100 2. Install nGlide 3. Set the compatibility to Windows XP SP3 and run the exe as an admin edit: you can also just use dgVoodoo I guess
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has tons of bug. Those developers didn't examine every mission carefully before game released. For example: In the first mission of Campaign 1, two Su35s will taxi from runway to the air instead of taking off. The worst bug: If you destroyed all enemy radars and missile launchers in every mission of final campaign (select your wingman to Engage Enemy), then you can't complete the final mission because you can't receive the voice authorization of release the nuclear weapon. So you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game starts with a video of the F-22 Lightnning in flight but that's all. The game does not start. There is some sort of data dump error message that pops up at the end of the video. but the game never starts.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but doesn't work at all on Windows 7 64 bit, which is a bit of a problem if you want to play it. If you want another useless icon on your desktop though, it's a great purchase.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please Tag as: Novalogic / Novaworld
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game back in the day, especially the mod that gave you unlimited nukes. Hate DEV's today that won't touch on using nukes in warfare. Unfortuanetly, this game wont even start on win7/8/10 64 bit. Think you can play the origional through a DosBox if you can find the disc at a goodwill, etc. Yes: Recommend the game No: Because it won't play sadly

Edit: If you manually hack the .ini file, it seems to run. It is incredibly pathetic that these people didn't even bother to generate a decent default .ini file - defaulting to 640x480 3dfx? Really? positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% worth it for a quite light sim, on special. Be sure to download the patch and update the game on http://www.novalogic.com/downloads.asp The sites appear old and sketchy but is legit. While it's an old-game, it will improves the resolution making it way more playable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →have really enjoyed this game. While the graphic are not up to the standard of FS2004, there are lots of mission options and even my five year old son can navigate his way around. The program has never crashed while in a mission, but some features are not very realistic eg it doesn't matter what altitude you are at you will find the target. The only thing that I have struggled with is learning the finer points of air combat, which the manual does not really help you with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game will not work Win8;.1 64bit Don't bother
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works fine. Love it. I have all three. The MIG 29 Fulcrum is cool too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →...ahh memories I just bought it again so i could drop the Nuke, it's worth it Unlike me, that never gets old Thank-you NovaLogic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is tagged as 'simulation' To some degree, to some extent, it simulates something. The engine start involves throttling up. The flight dynamics are somewhere halfway between an RC plane and something that is extremely fly-by-wire. Stalling the F-22 is difficult and recovery is generally quite trivial. Landing is some of the most forgiving I've had in any flight simulator. This may seem like an odd and slap-dash list of things to open a review with, but you have to bear in mind, this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So the game works perfectly... sort of. I'll go over that down below. The game itself is fantastic and really shows NovaLogic's development skills at the time. The graphics and simulation for a game from 1999 are fantastic. The friendly AI (for the most part. Of course no AI is perfect) will follow your commands without the need to spam them. The only issue is that you need to watch his back at times as he seems to like to get into trouble. The enemy AI is also really challenging too. They will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The third game in the F-22 series (the first was F-22 Lightning II and the second F-22 Raptor - weird naming I know). I spent countless hours playing Raptor (and the Comanche 3 and Armored Fist 2 demos on disc) when I was a kid. It was those games that made me fall in love with the military, particularly fighter jets. They taught me about military hardware (who said video games aren't educational?). I heard about this game but could never find it. Until today... About 20 years later, I finally…

Well I decided to bite the bullet and play(buy) this game again on my Windows 7 game playing 1024x768 resolution. Well I got an education with a flight Arcade that is over 15 years old. Here is my conclusions. Vector Thrust is worst than I thought. It suck not only Bad, but really bad.... I mean Really Really Really Sucks. What a piece ..... (well Steam has warned me to be nice - So I will and not finish…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a great game although there are room for improvmentents
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Novalogic series of flight sims, on release, was hated by flight sim grogards for their utter simplicity, blandness, and repetitiveness. That was over 14 years ago. Now, they're old and broken on top of that. If you really want to fly the F22, track down TAW 2.0. It's old, but considerably less broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →F22 Lightning series brings me back to the time I was 12 and had my first Joystick... god good old days of my Win 98 computer are coming back to me <3 It runs on Windows 10 but the screen will not fit 16:9 ratio, if that is fine with you then buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crahes before you can play; just wanted to pay tribute to f22 which was my first dogfighting experience. I still remember the traced lines indicating flight path of my own and the enemy plane. Didn't expect this to work and doesn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is diferent from the F-16 and mig-29 games. This one is harder to dogfight, if not impossible to do so. Control become really nice but now it's harder to dogfight. Graphics improved too, as you can see right from the first mission. But the F-22 become more a fire missile only, because using the cannon is hard and there's no board computer like the F-16 has. Anyway, was fun being mad. This game is hard as hell...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i can't change the video resolutions, it freezes!!! this is wack!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →F-22 Lightning 3 Much like the F-16 Multirole Fighter, F-22 Lightning 3 puts me off in the graphical department. The controls aren't intuitive as much as F-16. No tutorial / training mode can be found in the game! Like F-16, this game do support the XBOX 360 gamepad to a point but you would be better of playing this game with Keyboard though. The gameplay is slow and bland/boring. The audio (sound/music) aren't that great either. Also, don't seek out this game for the multiplayer as it is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has sadly not been patched to work with current systems, hence the negative reviews, however gameplay wise this game is fantastic, with many quick missions but also a nice set of campaigns to be played You need to strategically set up your loadout that will be used for the mission, and coordinate yours and your wingman's movements during it The game doesn't support widescreen, and full screen is broken, so I use Lossless Scaling to turn the windowed mode into full screen I also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is still great, but you need to do a couple of things, any AI can direct you whats necessary. It's simple. Just download dgvodoo (I use 2.86.4) control panel and tweak a few settings. (some settings might or not work depends on your hardware – I've tested on a mid budget and a high-end, worked in both) Go on L3.exe in the directory and disable fullscreen optimizations. You're all set. Good gaming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't run by itself so it's a no from me. It is pretty easy to fix though, just some changes to the ini file.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game in the world i remember playing F22 Lightening 2 with my Father Before He Past At The Dawn Of The Personal Computing Age. F22 Lightening 3 is much better btw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mixed reviews? The game doesn't work? Oh, you poor little baby, should I call your mom to wipe off your tears and snot, and maybe to even spend a minute of her time reading a forum while you play another round of Dota 2? The game is actually a step forward from previous flying "sims" of this developer. It even have widescreen support and not entirely dead multiplayer. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1945199812

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →F-22 Lightning 3 is a fascinating remnant of the late-1990s combat flight simulator era, offering an experience that sits comfortably between demanding aviation simulation and accessible aerial action. Originally released in 1999, it was developed by NovaLogic and is currently published on Steam by NovaLogic and THQ Nordic. Its age is immediately apparent in its graphics, interface, and technical foundations, but the underlying concept remains entertaining for anyone interested in classic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice game I remember playing when I was a kid. If anyone is having issues to open it, update it from the novalogic website, also disable 3d hardware acceleration, in my case if that is on, screen will turn blank.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The F-22 Lightning 3 game is incredibly similar to the F-16 Multirole Fighter game developed by the same company. The games are basically indetical. Of course the missions are different, the planes are different, there is a few new things but the base game is basically the same. F-16 Multirole Fighter was a great game, tons of fun, tons of missions, really cool plane, good controls and everything it had a good balance of arcadey fast fun and simulator slow scary gameplay. The F-22 Lightning 3…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The enourmous loadout of the plane in this game, along with its default soundtrack during missions makes the game feel more of an arcade compared to the other simcades Novalogic made in that period (F-16 and MIG-29). The loadout, it turns out, doesnt matter so much, even if some missions do feel like you're not making any decisions. Regardless, I still give the game a thumbs up. On the upside, this one is less buggy compared to the other 2 mentioned simcades. Upd: Last mission of the last…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →F-22 Lightning 3 cons: lack of directions. overly complex ridiculous confusing controls. lack of radar nav points of where to go. sucks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good game all tho it could be better but I'm happy with it :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great simulator of a combat aircraft. Several campaigns, a variety of realistic weapons. Although, now, of course, it is very outdated.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The software does not even work on my computer with a 1 GB hardrive and good memory. I played this game 17 years ago and had few problems, but today it will not work on my computer. It was a waste of money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 1999 when I had my first pc, this game was my first 1 out of 3 game. I couldn't play it well at that time but I am playing it now just to remember old times and I am having fun. Well balanced between simulation and fun-action. Do not expect visual quality or you will be disappointed. Full screen and wide screen is available. See my guide [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2625046232]here.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very nice 'simcade' tha works quite well with modern systems. Just get dgvoodoo2 to make sure the game looks great. A beta update from the developers has support for modern resolutions, not sure why it was not included with steams version. But its great fun, we dont get this middle-ground between realism and arcade anymore.

Before finally abandoning the game they did us this favor! It was the hype went it came out. We used an old audio software called RogerWilco to communicate! There were actual air force pilots playing this game back in the day advising us how to fly and techniques to use while piloting... Those were the days! Was a great game back then and the…
