unlabelledView post →Long time player of Neverwinter Knights 2 from back in the day. DO NOT waste time on this version of the game. It has more bugs than the old version still available on GOG, it crashes at nearly every point and save games corrupt regularly. None of this was an issue in the GOG release nor the old CD version. The modern release changes nearly nothing about the game and creates more hassle than its worth. This "Remaster" does a serious disservice to a truly wonderful retro game with a great…

unlabelledView post →A unmaster, if you will. A version of the game based on a early patch with more bugs then were present in the original. A nonfunctional multiplayer, which the modding community had fixed. A truly atrocious user agreement presenting threats the original didn't contain. A totally unupdated toolkit, to insure the same community that made the original worth a hypothetical remaster will see no value in this dumpsterfire. Truly Aspyr is the failure that keeps on taking. They took the chance for a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review contains spoilers for the base campaign, but I will argue that I am saving you time. TLDR: Do I recommend you buy Neverwinter Nights 2 “Enhanced” Edition? Absolutely not. Do I recommend you even play NWN2’s base campaign? No. Do I recommend you play Mask of the Betrayer? Maybe, but only for the original game. Let’s just address the 38 gigabyte elephant in the room. As many other reviewers have stated, this “enhanced” edition is just flat out terrible. The asking price for this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a nostalgia buy for me as I have the original version and dlc (expansions) on DVD. The idea of a "enhanced" version on Steam for a game I really enjoyed a decade and a half ago appealed to me. Unfortunately, the "enhanced" tag is barely noticeable as far as graphics go. Aspyr the developer added the option of controller functionality which I don't believe anyone really cared about. As far as functionality goes, Aspyr didn't address/fix any of the old bugs of the original NWN2. One…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, I really did. I read the "mostly negative" reviews and thought of it as a challenge to overcome -- predicting that, over time, the game would be patched into something stable, and the real density of mechanics (which I took for granted would exist) would eventually reverse the staggeringly pessimistic view of this game. I assured myself that there would be an ample supply of community-made mods to patch up the glaring inadequacies of the title before Aspyre…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blacklist Aspyr media and never buy any of their “remasters” or any of their games again. They release “remasters” just as broken as they were originally and move on to the next scam. Remember these people and never buy from them again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. Crashes 5+ times every session I play. Kept running into bugs. Even a character file got corrupted at the end of the game and was completely reset to level 1 with nothing. What a kill joy to get 90 hours into the game right before the final fights and this happens. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NWN2 is a fantastic game! But recommending this 'enhanced edition' is not something I can do with all honesty... In one sentence - this is clearly a cash grab that is nostalgia bait, shame :( 2 part review, first I'll go over why You should not buy this - especially if You already own it on GoG or can get it in other legit means. Then I'll go over why You should buy this as this is still one of the best cRPGs :) the bad: - game is broken, pure and simple, I would not care about the number…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Regular crashes and softlocks with little to no improvements made. Better to buy the GoG version as to not support such a lazy enhanced edition.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first game, but this one… I don’t even know what to say. It’s full of bugs. I paused the game in the middle of a fight and couldn’t unpause, my companions keep getting stuck — there are just so many issues. It’s really disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NWN2 is one of the best cRPGs ever but the Remaster is really shιtty: constant crashes, takes almost 50 gigas of your hd for poor upcaled textures that look almost the same as the original. Not to mention you need basically a high tech NASA computer to run it Ive been playing Neverwinter nights 2 "remastered". The game itself is freaking amazing, a huge upgrade from the original neverwinter 1 adding some cool and obscure playable races and classes like the Yuan-ti, Warlocks and Favored…

unlabelledView post →Why is this game even allowed on the store? All the negative reviews are correct about everything. A massive pile of game halting/crashing bugs that are absent from the original version AND the GOG version all marketed as an enhanced edition with no real discernible updates outside of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller support feature. Be for real.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition Do nut buy this game, it barely work! I bought the game when it released, played for some 30 hours and had a decent time with it. However, it crashed quite often, probably 10-15 times, among other issues like my GPU (5080) running at a million spins per second for this ugly ass 2006 game. I had to framecap it through Nvidia control panel, so it didn't fry. There's no option in game to frame cap. But - I could play, however annoying the semi-frequent…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It crashes a lot without giving you any notification as of why. The auto saves barely function since we just lost one hour of progress. I give up. This is not worth it. I hate this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You broke a nearly 20 year old game. It somehow runs worse in almost every aspect. You couldn't even fix the multiplayer correctly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are going to remaster a broken game you are supposed to fix it at least somewhat.

I'll remove this review once Aspyr fixes the latest bugs. After the February 2nd "Toolset Patch," all modules included with this "Enhanced Edition" (OC, MotB, SoZ, MoW) suffer a bug where interactable items are difficult or in some cases impossible to interact with. At best, when hovering the cursor over interactable items, the cursor will…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7 hours in and I can already say this is the worst "enhanced edition" ever made. Crashes left and right, bugs and glitches too. No one should ever buy from Aspyr media. Absolute scammers. What a shame
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but super lazy port that crashes constantly. No new content; the game is just as unfinished as it was 20 years ago.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A golden oldie. a pity they never continued this series. seems it morphed into dragon age and some others with game mechanics changed and then all was lost. as is the art of making good games. as are many things. says this somewhat bitter 74 year old who is retired from the world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, BUT; this "Enhanced Edition" is a deception (the only meaningful addition is controller support. (Icewind Dale II) is in the exact same predicament (Source code is lost thus; it is onerous to enhance). Yet, (Icewind Dale II) received a truly & meaningfully ENHANCED edition by ((Modders)).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WTH!!!!!!????????? -copy paste review because encountered exactly the same game-BREAKING item-interaction bugs x15 ;(((((( I'll remove this review once Aspyr fixes the latest bugs. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After almost 80h game corrupted all my save files making me unable to comple it, also it crashes constantly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hoped this would be a revamped improved version of said game but its not. The interface is much worse and more inconvenient to use. Honestly yeah, just not great. This is nothing more than a cash grab.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unplayable. It persistently crashes to the desktop when transition from one map to another.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved NWN2 back in the day, so I was excited to play the enhanced edition. Unfortunately, it is so buggy that it is literally unplayable. At the end of both the orc campaigns in act one (the save the Water Deep Emissary quest) the game failed to launch critical interactions at the end of both the campaigns. I spent hours hours trying various script in the developer console, but none worked. The game seemed like it was going to let me advance the story anyway but that was not the case.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this version of the game for 60 hours. It has many bugs compared to the original. Little graphical bugs I was fine with, some of them are even funny. However, I am not even in Act 2 of 3, and I cannot do the side quest content, at all. I decided to buy the original NWN2 from GoG because the enhanced edition is just too broken to play thoroughly. I'm not sure why the game is still allowed to be sold without any fixes. There is nothing enhanced about this edition.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it, installed it, hit play, game crashes. Tried literally everything under the sun to try to get it to work and nothing. Absolute refund, do not buy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to start off by saying I love this game. I've been playing it since November of 2006. But I can't recommend it. To start off, there are a few things that this version does that are a plus. First off textures do look better than the original version, especially in 2k or 4k resolution. It's not something I could pinpoint in screenshots, but it is noticeable when you switch between NWN2: Complete and NWN2:EE. You can just tell that the original game was designed for 1024x768 resolution.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was full of potential when it was released and the "Enhanced" Edition does nothing but make it even sadder that we'll never get a full version of this game. First of all: This only an Enhanced Edition in its name. Nothing that is added here makes this game less frustrating than it was before. The camera is still horrible, the pathfinding and AI are beyond frustrating and the bugs and crashes will happen just as often as they did back when this game was new. Absolutely nothing was…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update following Feb 2nd patch: Still crashes frequently, happy to see patches are still incoming however, so hopefully things improve in the future. ----- I don't recommend this, or actually any version of NwN2 as it stands currently - and that's really unfortunate. I purchased this version specifically for the Linux / Steam Deck support, and whilst I'm incredibly glad it has that and it's a LOT easier to set up than the original version as a result - the game still fills me with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Creativity has declined, even though i love this game, the remake has gone horribly wrong, what happened to the Multiplayer is a disgrace, people were the reason this game survived, communities, mod building, Servers created by the people, the fun of part was Multiplayer.. this having to wait for people to join is a total waste of time, Dammit i love this game, why did they have to remove the Multiplayer Servers.. WHY!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Following after its predecessor, NWN2 is an epic fantasy RPG that gives you the options of playing the included campaigns or engaging with community-created modules. In the original campaign, you are thrust into the shoes of a young adventurer who must form alliances, hone their skills, and shape the course of the adventure through a robust set of story and inter-personal choices that will determine their fate and that of their companions. There's a great mix of exploration, investigation,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“Enhanced Edition”? More like “Ultrascam” edition. It’s honestly a joke that when I play with friends, I have to quicksave before every map transition not because I’m worried about a tough encounter, but because the game might crash. Even something as simple as walking in a straight line can get you stuck, forcing you to do ridiculous maneuvers just to get unstuck. The game doesn’t even look any better, so if you actually want an “enhanced” experience, you have to download an 8K upscaling mod…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately this game is riddled with bugs. It seems worse than it was 20 years ago. I regret my purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's hard to talk about NWN and NWN2 without some kind of nostalgia effect. Let's start with the global experience: smooth, they polished the game and the graphics, i encountered minor crashes (but i played at launch), the mechanics are easy to learn especially if you come from tabletop D&D. The story is well crafted, managed to keep me enganged till the end, an adequate 60 hours main course. This edition has a lot of DLC to keep playing after the main campaign (will finish those after a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great idea, horrible execution. When this game first came out in early 2000s it was a bit of a dísappointment. It had some really good elements to it like the graphics for the time were great, it had a lot of content, customisability, cutscenes with voice acting, customisable companions and party mechanics. However the game engine just didn't fit the game at all. It was slow, unresponsive which meant that the fighting resembled more of a turn based strategy game than real time combat which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game and I'm going to keep trying to play it. But it still crashes ALL THE TIME!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's sad because the original game is actually quite good, but the crashes, lack of autosave and some glitches and bugs. For example I played a Bard which has an ability that allows them to wear light armor without getting Arcane Spell Failure (which causes a chance to fail casting bard/sorceror/warlock/wizard spells) and the ability had no effect on my spell failure which is rough because the Bard really needs that extra armour early in the game but has a lot of useful skills. I will have to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I keep getting stuck in the ground and unable to move? And the game crashes a lot.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This EE might not be that Enhanced, and doesn't offer new content, but currently the game is in a pretty good state. Most if not all major bugs seem to have been fixed. The only major bug I encountered was the game freezes when paused during a cutscene, but thankfully it has been fixed in the recent update. Do I wish there was new content added and more actual enhancements? Yeah, but since NWN 2 was a great game, this alone make this game a good game as it is now in its current state.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish this was an actual enhanced edition instead of simply a port. Besides the port is buggy and crashed a handful of times just opening doors.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of nostalgia, but I don't remember the constant crashing. Can't recommend as such.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs were very frustrating. I experienced several crashes to desktop. Autosave was infrequent and would require re-playing long stretches of the game if I forgot to quicksave before the crash. AI for party members was frustrating. very frustrating to deal with. On the plus side, I really enjoyed the 3d visuals of the combat and the story which hooked me enough to play it to the end. However, the ending was ridiculously difficult compared to the rest of the game which I did not enjoy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition has arrived and Steam Deck Verified #NeverwinterNights2 #SteamDeck #Gaming #PCGaming
unlabelledView post →I would love to play this game. Too many bugs and crashes to make it enjoyable. Hopefully we get more updates in the future to address these.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So lots of shade is thrown at this game because people made the mistake of not renaming the existing Neverwinter Nights 2 folder before trying to run the EE version. A lot of previous mods and overrides do work with it, while a lot more do not, and trying to load an incompatible mod will made the game unstable. Having said that, fresh folder and the game has been running very good for me so far. Playing through MOTB and overall the game is fun and more stable then the GOG version with CEP…
