30 of 30 · most liked firstI can't blame this game for the fact that the entire Spirit franchise took a turn for the worse, both in terms of narrative themes and horse animation. However: the game itself suffers from a ton of UX issues and is only really worth playing if you're a huge fan of the movie. It does not live up to the 40$ price tag in either quality or quantity. Full review (including lots of gifs and images) here:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really good! Beautiful scenery, massive open world, tons of quests/errands to do for people, and, of course, an exciting story. I haven't got through the whole story, it's very exciting so far, though! The reason I posted this review this early, though, is because I know lots of people considering wishlisting this might not even consider it worth getting, because it says that the keyboard and mouse is not supported, but, IMPORTANT, that is incorrect information!! You CAN use it,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but a nice little game. I think quests were kinda boring, running errands. From point A to point B and back to point A. Collect this and that. Story was childish, what is expected from a kid's game. No one should ever compare this game with a masterpiece like RDR2. Never! Open world is very compact and limited, but fun for kids I guess. Spirit gets stuck all the time on things like rocks or trees. Super small stamina for a stallion from the wild is ridiculous. He should be able to…

Great new horse game for the less experienced horse fans out there! After finishing the main story in 3hr 30min (along with a few of the side quests) my overall thoughts (and gripes) are as follows: - Difficulty - Very easy - This game is very easy and will not provide much challenge if that's what you're looking for. If you’re here to sit back, relax and enjoy the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't normally leave reviews, but my 5 y.o. daughter absolutely adores this game. The riding controls are simple enough that she's been able to pick the game up on her own (we use an Xbox 360 controller) and complete most of the main storyline without any help. Some of the platforming segments can be a bit tricky for her thanks to some not quite ideal camera angles, but otherwise she does most of it on her own. Quest objectives are clearly marked / easy to follow and she loves seeing some of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just an awful experience. Controlling Spirit through winding paths with obstacles is an exercise in frustration. He constantly gets stuck on strange bits of geometry which forces a slow dismount and waddle away to move him from one place to the other. The 'cleaning' mechanic seems to consistently hit at the worst time (when you're 1000 miles from home and any other fast travel point) and the side quests add nothing of value. I'm glad that I'm free from its clutches.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When my daughter saw me playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and also wanted to play a game where one's character rides a horse, this is the one we settled on. Compared to other horse games out there that we found, this one is the closest thing to RDR2 for youngins and higher quality than most.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: It may be good, it may be bad. I will never know as seems it needs a controller to progress beyond 5 minutes and it doesn't like mine PROS: At least I managed to load up the home page? CONS: Xbox controller support dodgy - stops all progress For those considering buying - this game says it requires an Xbox controller. I have one - I have the official wireless dongle for PC. It works perfectly in Steam Big Picture mode and all other controller-compatible games. However, this game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a cute little game, the controls weren’t the best. But it was still a fun short game

They agree on searching together and as soon as the conversation ends you realize that you have to search alone, while she is waiting... Uninstall!

unlabelledView post →I almost refunded the game. I bought it for my youngest daughter and tried playing it on mouse and keyboard, and the controls were rough to the point even I didn't think I could enjoy the game. Thankfully it was compatible with the Steam Deck and that changed the experience. The controls weren't perfect, but they were much more enjoyable than playing on a keyboard and mouse. My daughter loves Spirit and watching her play as Lucky riding and bonding with Spirit and meeting some of her favorite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is ok, mechanics are quite ok. But... The game is broken. I have struggled with the control the entire time both with the controller and the keyboard. Everytime i want to take a slight turn, the horse runs half a mile that direction. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you are a hardcore fan of Spirit.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DreamWorks Spirit Lucky's Big Adventure is a family-friendly, open-world game that lets you explore the Wild West with Lucky and her trusty horse, Spirit. While it has its charm, the game falls short in several areas. Pros: Colorful Environments: The game's world is vibrant and full of life, with detailed character models and horses that add to the overall charm. Accessible Gameplay: The controls are easy to grasp, making it suitable for younger players who enjoy horse riding and exploration…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement controls are a nightmare, even with a controller. It says a controller is necessary to play the game, but you can play with keyboard and mouse. Playing with either is almost impossible when it comes to some of the little climbing locations to get items. Moving the stick the correct direction on the controller when the screen turns to a view you can't change is a bag of cats. So no, because of that I don't recommend the game. The other reason is some of the stupid fetch quests and…
