Running on an Ryzen/Nvidia/W11 laptop. 1. Find your dragonthrone.exe Steam folder (DRIVE:\Program\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Throne - Battle of Red Cliffs). 2. Right click dragonthrone.exe and click properties. 3. Under the compatibility tab, check the box with "RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR:" 4. Click the drop-down and select Windows XP…

Another copy of it remains buried in my grandmother's computer at a distant place, awaiting the moment for me to open it once more.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sound is completly broken and the game launches at 1024x768. It's unplayable without any dialogue sounds, broken music, broken SFX and so on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Very Good Game but please bring Fate of the Dragon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's finally here on steam and there is no mouse scroll speed bug.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to have more maps to play with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Godly masterpiece and one of best rts games ever created, oldschool title but still better than most newest rts games and for such low price this game is worth every penny and its must have must play title 👍
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its the biggest tragedy in gaming history this absolute gem was overlooked by so many players! Cant recommend enough to try it out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this game in the early-mid 2000's with my dad. We've discussed it many times over the years but neither of us could remember the game so it's been lost to me for most of my life. Finally found it again tonight, found out it was re-released here on Steam, and felt obligated to play. The game is just as much of a blast as it was in 2005 when I was a kid. Phenomenal game in general and one of my favorite games of all time. Genuinely, thanks to the people who made this game and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this game with my father when I was a kid. It took my mind as soon as I played it. One of the GOATs of its era, which is as good as War3. Highly recommended. After 897 days in-game, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei of Shu-Han Emperor are being killed in CaoCao's story on hard mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No idea why they don't use the original name: Fate of the Dragon
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly this isn't an improvement, if your childhood was to play Fate of the dragon, then don't play Dragon Throne. From the voices, music or just how the AI behaves, the original is simply better. Plenty of ways to get your hands on it as it's pretty much abandonware at this point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first ever rts when i was still in 3rd grade and the one that got me into three kingdoms history. I have lost the physical copy of the game and god bless you strategy first for releasing it here. Kind of wished for a hd remaster instead to run on modern pcs in widescreen at the very least but i suppose the game is playable and that is sufficient enough for me to play it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i loved this game from kid, then now , it's still so great after 15 years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS IS MAYBE THE BEST GAME EVER I USED TO PLAY THAT GAME WHEN I WAS A CHILD THANKS A LOT FOR UPLOADING IT ON STEAM ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT WE CAN'T PLAY IT ONLINE PLEASE FIX THE ONLINE ♥♥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you for making this game and on steam been looking for it !would love a remastered version and theirs some parts of the game In the story you cant mine resources overall good game and a classic!Multiplayer should be easier to do It wont let me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, but Skirmish should REALLY be updated to allow the setup of teams.. seriously.. alliances are not possible. I was sending 2k tributes to an AI, after alienating it from all other AIs, for hours without advancing past the first star of "friendship level". Impossible! This simple change would make the game more interesting/ replayable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 game retro
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought it because of nostalgia. there's some lack of detail, sure, but the core gameplay is fun. simple but good and chill. like the good old days from my childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally they fixed crashing issue about win11's 24H2 update
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's worth the price, just too far to be compared with nowadays games. Besides Chinese sounds fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reading the reviews was quite depressing, however, I didn't encounter any issue with the game. Sound was fine, no black screen. It was just like it was 10 years ago when i first played it. Of course, the pathing is an issue since then. But the game was really enjoyable. Used to spend countless of hours after school to play the game. Afterall, the game is only $10 and the game is more than 20 years old, it is a master piece, at least to me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enemy AI is messed up in Skirmish mode. Even on Low difficulty, all the kingdoms will gang up on you for no reason and attack you endlessly. Literally impossible to play until fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for far too long I could remember and nowadays, I still continue to play it when I have free time. To be honest, it's the most underrated RTS game of all time. Who played this will know this is absolute hidden master piece even still has some lag due to the release date issue, it's still a good game in general. Especially for three kingdoms' fan like I do!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It runs well on modern machines, so if you knew this game existed already and are thinking about buying it, that's probably what matters most. For a lot of people this is definitely more of a nostalgia buy than a new experience. If you're unfamiliar with the game, it's definitely aged as a strategy title (the voice acting and graphics are crunchy, the campaign is a bit sparse, there's only one faction etc.) but I think what's there has enough charm to be fun even if it's not a super…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an older title. Graphics are old school, combat and campaigns are interesting. Decent. Still, might want a discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i wish games were made like this. Brings back the past, long play times, always challenging. Fast yet slow, keept me coming back when i first played. Make them like this again please.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first played this game when I was around 8-10 years old on the big glass 'family computer' in my dining room. I remember being OBSESSED with this always roleplaying. It was known as 'Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon' back then. Can't believe I found it on steam being released in 2024... Thank you for the nostalgia, amazing game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now i can nostalgic with my chilhood
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best RTS game I have ever played. Very nostalgic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Original, pure, un-altered and still fun as heck. Brings back good ol memories

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best RTS game ever. Played this long ago when I was a kid, and now playing this version made love it even more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bring back memory. Remark would be great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best childhood game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old but... maybe silver RTS game that plays with some fairly complex and unique mechanics I haven't seen other games try before (or I need to play more games): - There's 2 maps: One is your empire, the other is a HUB world where you can capture villages to tax them for gold and traverse to other empires. - Each empire have their own independent pool of resources, encouraging each empire to interact with every part of their economy - Soldiers have morale & energy that slowly decay overtime as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still so much fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: Okay, it is a Windows issue that caused the problem, not the game itself. After a certain Windows update, the game runs perfectly. Cannot multi-select, cannot skip opening animations, cannot place building on a valid location. This is one of my favorite games when i was a kid. Sad to see the publisher released it with so many compatibility issues. I'm using Windows 11 Pro 24H2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old but gold, it's definitive edition would be perfect
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Closest thing I could find to - Three kingdoms: fate of the dragon. So far its been ok couldn't find a menu for hotkeys which sucks but hey ho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great RTS from my childhood, (Fate of the dragon) I definitely recommend it. I only have access to the steam deck which is unsupported, but i took a chance since I had no issue playing similar games like AOE, but was unable to get any control's to work once I was in game. So an unable to replay it.
