positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love incremental games. Chipmatic calls itself an incremental game. It's not. On the surface, Chipmatic looks like Motherload combined with a faint smell of Factorio. And yes, it does feature both digging and factory management. But it doesn't do either well - the further you progress, the more the gameplay shifts from "dig" to "manage bottlenecks", and over time it gets tedious to do either. Perhaps if you were to speedrun it, the below issues would be felt less. I 100%'d the game and thus…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really underwhelming for the price. Maybe a 5 dollar game at best. There's nothing at the bottom. Nothing. There's no story to speak of either. Just mining and the occasional chest. All you're doing is crafting a spaceship. And that's all fine and good, but for 11 bucks? 12 regular price? Nah. Aground is around the same price and has a ton of content and story to keep you entertained.

Reminds me of the flash game Motherload, but based around the mining/upgrading instead of constantly exploding yourself. I like the upgrade system and I can already see there's a lot more than the little bit I've unlocked so far. Excited to see where it goes as I make more progress! If you like incremental games with satisfying upgrade loops, I would recommend this for sure! I haven't made a lot of…

unlabelledView post →Oh my god, no. This game starts off okay, it's like a combination between Motherlode and a really really REALLY dumbed down satisfactory. But then you have to manage things like power and build all of the most expensive items on repeat, for hours. This game limits how much you can automate things to 5 items per machine. Which really is not enough. There's a drill to automatically mine ores, again, 5 types at a time and it does not automatically collect, even at max upgrades. You have to do…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall pretty enjoyable, especially if you're not trying to rush through it. It does lack some QoL features that leads to tedium and it can use a bit of polish on gameplay and pacing,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky, poorly balanced progression. Lacking additional upgrades for base parts of the automation chain. Both short to finish and a grind for full completion. The interesting gameplay is 2-4hrs at most. At $12 it's not great compared to other incrementals. Would better suited in a ~$5 category.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is ok but way overpriced for what you get. wait for at least a 50% dicount
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it for 3.5 hours last night and loved every minute. Jumped in today to find out the update wiped my progress and I can’t even play the game. The controls do nothing - completely unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good fun - about 8 hours to get to the end game, but more to do with achievements. Price per hour is pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has such problems: - I think it is too short for this price. Wanted some more. but the game had been already finished - Bad optimization. It does not have much graphical effects or complex logic, but it runs poorly on my laptop (I finished Facrorio on this system without any lags). It is playable, but laggy But although I had fun and finished it, and I can recommend it to other people. It has great non-standard incremental gameplay. And I want to thank the devs for that 8 hours…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a soft spot for mining games, from my early days playing Miner VGA on DOS, to the flash game Motherlode, to Steam World Dig 2, I adore any mining game that has me grinding deeper and providing me with surprises along the way. I just started this game a half hour ago so I can't tell you if it will deliver in the later game but it has a really good start, like being able to teleport to the top and having no drop damage, and seeing everything I'll eventually be able to build, I know I'll be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game, so far has a satisfying progression path, a bunch of upgrades, etc. The art is really well made, sounds are nice, and the music/soundtrack is really good. I'm looking forward to building the rocket!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game has many flaws, I don't think the current rating is justified. Is it lack of QoL or annoying in some aspects of this game? Of course. However, this game is definitely not as bad as people said. Most of the negative reviews are about the automation and the drill facility. For automation, some intermediate products are severe bottlenecks that hinders game progression. For the drill facility, there's no auto harvest, forcing players to manually access it to clear its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept, will play it more for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Give this one a pass. It's pretty poorly balanced, and the automation in the game is largely a joke. I bought it while on sale and I'd refund the game if I could.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun enough. You unlock automation gradually. Word to the wise - the only upgrade you need to max out is the drill. If you try to play this as a completionist, maxing out every upgrade, you'll go insane from the grind. Play it with the intent of completing the game rather than 100% it, and you'll enjoy yourself a lot more. If you're a 100% kind of gamer, give this one a pass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could be much better if there wasn't such an energy bottleneck. Too much downtime waiting for energy to pile up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it to completion and had a bunch of issues with it (mostly in the later part of the game), but now I look at Update Patches and they seem to have tried to address a bunch of them, so I have no idea if my criticism still apply or I'm criticising a version of the game that no longer exists. For what it's worth, it was a pretty straighforward game. Lot of balancing issues especially towards the end (I was annoyed by hard limit on how much you could upgrade machines, putting an ultimate…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish I could give this a neutral review, it's a decent motherlode type game, but in a lot of ways more barebones than motherlode; steamworld dig did this way better like a decade ago tbh Also, the game needs major balancing when you hit the 3.5 hour mark, total game is about 6 hours long, but would be a heck of a lot faster if it wasn't for all the manual work you need to do because the automation sucks The story is totally nonexistent, you find a few scattered chests with some barebones…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so additictive! would have liked it better without the idle game mechanics. nice upgrade syste thouhjh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A spiritual successor to Motherload from back in the day. It was fun, I had a good time. A few non-game breaking bugs, and some stuttering in the last hour or so. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing game to play while you watch youtube or something, this would be a good choice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brings me back to playing motherload as a kid, well polished and excited to play more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: Just beat the game. It's quite fun, but there is a grind in the later stages; that's where you need to invest in drilling and automation. You will always need more of all the resources, but luckily the game provides that. The developers also recently released a balancing patch to improve the late game experience. If you were previously unsure about picking up the game, I recommend giving it a try now. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- (Originally…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chipmatic is a compact blend of mining, automation, incremental progression, and exploration that turns the simple act of digging downward into a steadily expanding technological adventure. Developed by Molter and published by Molter and SpaceJazz, it places you in control of a mining robot exploring the underground remains of a devastated Earth. The ultimate objective is to reach the planet's core, but accomplishing that requires considerably more than simply drilling in a straight line.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MacOS version is broken since release and the last update is almost two weeks old.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun time waster- Just 100%ed the game, i'd say the late game grind is not great, steel pipes and smelter slots were a big issue. I feel like another smelter slot is absolutely necessary, 2 would be perfect, as is i had to constantly babysit various parts of my line because i didnt have enough smelter production to have everything running automatically (and that was before cobalt). otherwise good game, but going for that 100% added 3 hours of painful playtime.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun little game, a bit grindy at the later midgame. I gives you around 8 hours of playtime to fully complete with all achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Idk what happened. All of a sudden I just couldnt stop digging. Played this at my office during down time. Over the course of 2 weeks I beat it. Its a fun game to just turn your brain off and chill out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 4-5 hours its an unfun grind. Feels poorly balanced with unfun automation where you need to micromanage everything and recipes are really expensive at the endgame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a weak positive review. If you don't care about achievements, the mining part of the game is fine. There are no new ideas here, but there's nothing bad about it either. It's fine. The achievement grind involves very little mining and a lot of time in the drill and crafting screens. Because some items are inputs to multiple other items, and also because there aren't quite enough auto-crafting slots, you can't just auto-craft everything and watch the numbers go up. Instead you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cozy Mining Game. Devs fixed the game save bug very quickly, which i was affected by too. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing experience, go for it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had quite a bit of fun with this one, but overall it's just a bit too simple and too short (don't expect more than 6hrs playtime) for a recommendation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's not it. This game is worth 3-5$ tops.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did you like Steam Dig? Do you like to mine? Play this!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Try "Ad Fundum" instead. Ad Fundum is the successor of Motherload. It has a free demo. Here on steam. Try it. Have you discovered the real Motherload? If you are looking for a very good Motherload on Steam: Yes, it exists. No, this is not it. It is called "Ad Fundum", and even has a free demo. Here on steam. Try it. ----------------------------------------------- Updated review after finishing Chipmatic: This game is pretty short. And pretty unpolished. The real problems: - finished it…

unlabelledView post →The core game is pretty fun, but if you like to 100% it be prepared for some seriously tedious grinding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE GAME IS 99% IS GOOD BUT THERE ONE THING MAKE THE EXPERIENCE HORRIBL WITCH IS THE NEAR THE END THE THING YOU NEED TO UPGRADE A LOOT AND TAKE A LONG TIME TO DO AND ABOVE ALL THAT THE ENERGY DRAIN SO QUICKLY MAKE ME CANT DO ANY CRAFT OR UPGRADE......IF THERE A UPDATE IS THE FUTURE MAKE THE ENERGY MORE THAT WILL BE PERFECT TO FINISH THE GAME OTHER THEN THAT I CANT CONTINUE ANYMORE
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Late game balancing is bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and not that sweet, the early and mid game are fine. You mine, then use the resources you mined to build things and upgrade things and then go back to mining. Then you run out of upgrades to your machines but keep unlocking new materials and so the gaps between going mining keep extending out as you spend more time at base manually crafting and switching around what's in your automatic production slots. By the end you'll be on the surface nearly full time as you run between manual…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun vertical mining/crafting game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game to keep you busy for a few hours. I agree with some of the other comments that the late game grind was more about managing the factory rather than mining, once you unlock a certain building later on it does serve as your main resource generator. Overall, getting 100% of the achievements is straight forward and should keep you busy for a day or two, I ended up trying to mine the entire field once I had maximized all my research.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice game, at the beginning you have to wait... collect etc... but then, game change speed and believe me, NICE GAME !!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game ,but i have encountered 2 instances of broken game on load.first time just a black screen with ambient game sound. Now im stuck in the sky and reloading/restarting doesnt work.only fix is save file delete and starting over. 3rd start is getting exhausting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was a fun little game to play while watching youtube videos. Perfect amount of concentration needed to complete the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nothing interesting happens. mine ores and reach new layers to mine new ores with a slight color change in environment. no enemies no hazardous effects just ores and chests with ores and sometimes blueprints. No fun upgrades or powerups just minimal stat upgrades that barely improve anything even when you go back to earlier layers. maybe the most interesting upgrade was the teleport time reduction from 5sec to 2.5 sec.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Out of all the mining games I have played (apart from Steamworld Dig), this is the most satisfying one. Albeit a bit short and not so cheap, it's a joy to play and very relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just boring with extremely linear progression. i didnt come across anything innovative that made the game more fun. its literally: dig to layer 1, collect ore, upgrade drill to dig to layer 2, collect ore, upgrade drill to dig to layer 3, etc.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great cozy mining game. Loved it the whole way through. Great job!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard to put down! This is a great game for a handheld (and no issues resuming from hibernate). Controller support is really good and the dev is very responsive to feedback. Highly recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very weak positive review. (i left the game on one night, im more like 5 hrs of real game time) The game is good and fun until the two-ish hour mark where its very clear that the factories could never hold up to whatever you are trying to do. The lower level factories (smelters) cant hold up to the refineries that ultimately cant keep up with everything else, so you end up just manually crafting with a slight supplement from the automatic factory. This wouldnt be so bad if i by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun, mining game. I do not really have any complaints, its a good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good concept, fun game but not a lot of replay and short
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compulsive but repetitive. Once you've dug out one layer, just imagine doing the same thing twelve more times.
