Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a 2017 action-adventure game developed by Arkane Lyon and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is a standalone expansion pack following Dishonored 2, and was released 15 September 2017 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. The game takes place in the coastal city of Karnaca after the events of the previous title. It follows the former assassin Billie Lurk (voiced by Rosario… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

The void he dwells in is enigmatic and unknowable. Anyway, the game devs ran out of ideas for the series, lets go shank his a$$ - Daud Game is about as good as Dishonored 2, but I haven't seen a studio curbstomp its own lore and franchise potential this hard since Rise of Skywalker
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death of the Outsider is the worst entry in the series. But the worst Dishonored is still a great bloody game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you play as an ebony goddess in this one as she goes around assassinating chuds on twitter. its an interesting direction to take the series, but its something we needed in these troublesome times
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like this game is where the studio started to die and ended up making that absolute dogwater redfall. The main character is intially interesting but then they seem to have just started tokenizing her half way through. Feels like they got more money from from black rock for tokenizing people than they did in sales of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death of the Outsider is a very lacking entry in the Dishonored series. The story itself is not bad. The central idea of tracking down a way to kill a god is interesting, and it gives the game a different tone compared to the previous entries. There are also a few gameplay ideas that work surprisingly well. Some of Billie Lurk's powers are genuinely creative, like teleport ability that lets you place a marker and return to it later. A few of the new gadgets are also great additions and would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DotO is to Dishonored 2 what Knife of Dunwall is to Dishonored 1. The problem is, DotO markets itself as its own game, not a DLC/expansion for Dishonored 2 because it's waaaaay too narratively important to be just a DLC. Some aspects are pretty so-so, but don't trust people who say playing this game is a waste of time. If it's any consolation. This game is much MUCH easier to 100% then the hell that is Dishonored 1...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes I think about playing this game, but every time I remember I'd have to play as an NPC-tier side character who was never even remotely interesting or charismatic, I give up. Dishonored 2 was their last good game, and judging by Arkane Studios output since then, it was actually a miracle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, I recommend it. But I don't recommend playing this one if it's your first time playing the Dishonored series. You should play 1 and 2 first, then Death of the Outsider. Although it's the latest installment. Honestly, it's just a standalone DLC for Dishonored 2. In terms of the number of levels, it's inferior to Dishonored 1. In terms of level design, playability, and replayability, it's inferior to Dishonored 2. (To be precise, I personally feel that the level design is…

Steam shouldnt be allowing them to sell a product that isnt even launchable without file manipulation. If you have any type of AMD hardware, you will need to update files from github because an outdated dll file will not allow the game to launch. On top of that the games borderless / windowed mode are not coded correctly and won't allow proper tabbing out of the game. If you tab out via steam overlay the game will…

If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240 Another game that should be DLC (for Dishonored 2) I don’t get how anyone can like this project at all. This expansion is the very definition of unimaginative. The developers just took the second game and shamelessly copy-pasted it, without trying to create anything new. The only difference is that we play ONLY as a woman, and they added…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dishonored was absolutely phenomenal and Dishonored 2 was also great, however this game was a cobbled together absolute waste of time and money. They didn't leave the 2nd game open ended so there really wasn't a point in this game anyways
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this isn't the better than the other two dishonored games, there still isn't enough games with the greatness that is the 'play your own way' style with great stealth mechanics and fun traversal powers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Dishonored series is very special. I prefer stealth over strength. Strategy over chance. The art style is very immersive. Story line is excellent. I keep hoping Dishonored 3 is on the horizon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't enjoy this one at all. While it is basically just a standalone Dishonored 2 dlc as it continues right after the second game, i don't see a reason to play this game unless you want more of that. The story is very short and forgetable, the character you play and see are very shallow, the levels are filled with stuff to do but feel more like checklist missions than actual immersive actions to alter the world. Which by the way got removed in this one too, no matter if you kill everyone or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far less polished than previous games in series, feels like the devs forgot to put in what makes us keep coming back; tight level design, precise powers, freedom in how missions are approached, poetic justice by non-lethal means, etc. It doesn't even feel rewarding to complete the missions without kills. The story is also incredibly thin; I'm still wondering why any of this is happening and what motivates the characters and the game is almost over. Powers are extremely imprecise, enemies are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst Dishonored game. The worst Dishonored game is still a better than average game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pointless, rushed, and underwhelming, just like this review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I hate the writing. The protagonist feels overly edgy and they had reused WHOLE LEVELS from the second game. I will say that the powers were not bad towards the mid/end-game but it genuinely felt like a chore to beat this game just to finish "the trilogy." I wish to blot this third addition to the story out of my memory. have a nice day
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game shares the same issue as Dishonored 2 for people with strong motion sickness: an idiotic choice of making all UI/text screens to constantly move from side to side, with no way to stop it (no option, config files tweak or mod available). I understand not so many people have this problem, but didn't they have ANYONE in the team that noticed this may be an issue, and that it would be a good idea to write a single line of code to give an option to disable it? For TWO GAMES in a row?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death of the Outsider is a mature and highly polished spin on the core Dishonored formula. It tries new things and mostly succeeds, and it's a must-play for fans of the franchise. While it's nice that it exists as a standalone title, it shouldn't be the first Dishonored game you play. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3585356494
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good: ‣ Graphically, the game still looks great. ‣ Gameplay is just as fun as Dishonored 2. ‣ Pretty good story that ties up the series nicely, with two available endings. ‣ Reuses a map from Dishonored 2, but transforms it into something different. I actually liked this idea. ‣ You can talk to rats. ‣ New Game+. Mixed: ‣ Simpler than the previous games due to having less content and fewer approaches. I don't completely mind it, but I kept comparing it to Dishonored 2, which offered much more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It should've just been DLC for Dishonored 2, and even if it was, it is still a disappointment for the series. Almost every facet of the game is a downgrade from the predecessors. The main positive takeaway from this title is that they made a decent replacement for the Dark Vision power. The storyline is flat and pointless, driven by characters that were once unique and now lobotomized into "deep" yet pointless quotes. They pursue goals set by the titlecard alone. Dishonored 1 had a wide cast…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the other Dishonored games, DOTO is the one I like the least. What do you mean that the game can't fully be done Non-Lethal while trying to get All Collectibles, literally ruined my chances to do a Trilogy All Collectibles run.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's more Dishonored, in a good way. It's more a DLC than a standalone game, so buy it cheap. It has all the trademarks of Dishonored. There's plenty of ways to accomplish your goals, and how to get there. There's a fair amount of lore to add on to the story. Old game plus was even better than the first time through. Having a mix of older powers, with the new are even better. It's a shame this series died the death it did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Weakest of the Dishonored games, but still epic and wonderful. I adore this franchise. This small game did not not disappoint.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The murder of an empress and the saving of another put in motion chaotic events that shaped the Empire of the Isles. Now, Death of the Outsider takes you into a final adventure that will forever change the whole world: to kill a god. Reflecting on the saga as a whole, Dishonored is amazing - a true masterpiece across board that has set the standard for my evaluation of any future video game series. The amazing works of Viktor Antonov, who defined the saga's unique 'whalepunk' aesthetic, gave…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it the story is garbage there is no morality system and the gameplay is no different than dishonored 2
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first text on the store page is about free bonus content that is copied and pasted directly from Dishonored 2. They didn't even change the name! So at least they're setting expectations at the right level. This is a Dishonored 2 DLC with a new playable character. In a cooler world you'd be able to play as Billie through the base game missions, but alas. With the acceptance that this isn't a new game this becomes an easy recommend. Dishonored 2 is fantastic, this is more of it. Personally I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a bad game but it doesn't really offer anything interesting or memorable. The storyline more than anything was EXTREMELY underwhelming, if the Outsider is considered an all powerful God then it really does damage to his character and power that he gets taken care of in a 5 mission DLC that can be finished in 10 hours. I'm more disappointed than anything, I expected this to be a proper game with how much influence the Outsider had on the previous 2 games. This game felt more like a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A TIGHT AND SATISFYING FINALE A great standalone expansion that provides a solid, lore-heavy conclusion to the Dunwall saga. Playing as Billie Lurk brings a refreshing twist, eliminating the mana potion grind and allowing you to fully unleash your supernatural powers in every encounter. It’s a focused, high-quality stealth experience that ties up the trilogy's loose ends beautifully. The end of an era. 8.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a standalone entry in the Dishonored immersive sim series that follows Billie Lurk as she reunites with Daud and sets out to kill the Outsider himself. Set after Dishonored 2, it keeps the same core structure of stealth, exploration, supernatural powers, and open-ended mission design, but on a smaller and more focused scale. It feels less like a full sequel and more like a compact epilogue to the series. The strongest part of the game is still its level…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay feels great and smooth, story is okay, if you're into the occult this entire franchise is for you and this entry touches on it very well if you like the philosophical aspect of it, unfortunately the thing that completely washes over every good aspect of this game is that this was an incredibly terrible way to end a really well built world, could've done so much more with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but still worthy addition to the dishonored series. Although this game feels like is more like a DLC with a decent amount of content rahter then a full game. Contracts are fun new toys are fun new powers are fun there is a different type of narration to the game that leans towards uncovering a mistery rather then the usual "save the princess" "kill bad guy" type of storyteling/missions. Because the removal of chaos system, you still get choices to make, and they do have consequences,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →avoid like the plague. sure, it uses the same engine as dishonored 2, but sorely lacks the latter's quality. the writing is awful. the level design is even worse. the first level is very short - no powers, the second is nice, so nice in fact that you get to play it again as the third mission. the fourth one is a return to the royal conservatory - only this time you're far more restricted movement-wise. the final level was a chore and then a bore. overall, where once you had plenty of options,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is more Dishonored content, which is a plus, but as far as DLCs are concerned, Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches were way more fun to play, I think. Some ideas presented felt refreshing, but overall I have mixed feelings. As mentioned, more Dishonored content is great, but for what, at this point, is the close off for the series, I would have hoped for more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Getting rid of the mana elixers for this game was the right choice, made playing with bonecharms and the world more fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the original Dishonored - this one strikes right into the D1's feels. Love every bit of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →has a few changes from d2 which i wish you could play the main game with. The mana system is leagues better imo, story is interesting, setting is gorgeous, wonderful wonderful immersive sim. wish there were more of it to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The very worst of the Dishonored franchise. Doesn't even try to get a story going or give you a reason to get invested. Just follow the markers and wait for the level summary. The plot is absurd and deconstructs and disrepects its own lore and draw. Turns the mystical into the mundane. The books and notes scattered around the game world are bland and very low quality. The new blink is clunky, the new dark vision has a lower range than NPC eyes, the face swap costs too much mana and is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →People are sleeping on this game. There is plenty to do and a ton of replay potential. Not to mention a ton of lore that really ties the story of the series together, quite nicely at that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A frustrating game to recommend. It's a fresh take on the Dishonored formula, with a protagonist on the back-foot with few powers, more reliant on her wits than overpowering force. Billy Lurk is the most characterful player character, and so well voiced by Rosario Dawson. You see new parts of Karnaca and familiar areas in entirely new lights. The level design in the first half or 2/3rds is some of the best in the series, allowing incredible freedom in your approach and delivering a whole lot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get it if its on a discount, but otherwise forget it exists, its inferior in every way to the original Dishonored 2, yet it costs the same. you can play through it in roughly 4 hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great visuals and level design, but too short and overpriced. Only really worth it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is very short only 5 missions, i beat it in 8 hours. performance-wise it's better than Dishonored 2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →>as always it dishonored you dont need to read any review >story is just as good >gameplay similar to dishonored 2 with 2 different ability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun. I enjoyed it. Definitely ONLY buy during a sale though, the main campaign even with me doing side content was only a little over 5 hours. Seems a touch low for the full 30 dollar price tag.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great, a nice add-on to the main game. Bank heist level is amazing if u take the optional contract to do a completely silent, no alert, no kill run. It was the highlight of the game. Later levels are kind of forgettable, and reused from the main game, but at least they can be finished quickly. Overall a very decent experience :) 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It lacks the karma system, but it can be a reason to go ballistic and play whatever you want
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very underrated and fun, although a little high priced for what is basically a Dishonored 2 DLC. would recommend picking up on sale, but is still worth it if you don't

unlabelledView post →While the first game was a masterpiece and the second was as good a successor as one could be, this did not follow suit. Not only are we deprived of Corvo *and* his daughter, Emily, Billie Lurk is possibly the most boring protagonist I have ever played. The story is astronomically mediocre and it feels like the devs just took the difficulty of the first game, the aesthetics and design of the second, and mashed them together until they bore some semblance of a sequel. Really what they were doing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Again, good action stealth game, but the worst Dishonored game imho. Story wise it was sadly quite weak. And for the levels: one is basically a copy from Dishonored 2 and two levels are mostly identical from each other. And you can only get 3 magic powers, you can't choose which one you want, and you can't upgrade them nor unlock any other.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you play as the most obvious most disgusting boring DEI hire in video game history , enjoy yourself
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks like most of the gloom of the world building from Dishonored 2 is in this one, so it is more consistent with the original Dishonored. This is a good addition if you like both Dishonored 2 and the original Dishonored + DLCs.
