Lots of people will hate the art style, the exaggerated complexity and the grindy nature of it, but for some sickos like me this is a 10/10 podcast game to chill and vibe to
unlabelledView post →I haven't played a soldak game in ages but I've been keeping an eye on Din's Champion coming out of early access in a month or so and the reviews seem promising
unlabelledView post →I tracked down and fixed another hitch in Din's Champion today, so the game will be smoother in the next build. #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →I've finally upgraded to a newer compiler for Din's Champion (Visual Studio 2026). The great part is that the game is 15 to 30% faster on all my test computers, but I might have to drop support for Windows 7&8. #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →Version 0.842 of Din's Champion is now available! This patch improves the UI especially the main in-game menu, balances a bunch of things better, toned down several effects, and fixes many other minor issues. #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →One of the interesting things of being an indie game developer is that you can add random things without any real justification, like today in Din's Champion I added art vendors that can sell paintings. #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →Trying to take a screenshot of something specific can be very difficult in a game with a dynamic world like Din's Champion. Here's one of my attempts to get a shot of a nice peaceful NPC town. :) #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
unlabelledView post →I've been doing another Din's Champion marketing push this week by contacting lots of YouTubers and Twitchers. I still think Din's Champion is our best game ever, but we really need to get more visibility.
unlabelledView post →Starting with our very first game, we've had very dynamic worlds where your actions actually impact the world around you. Since the Din's Champion world is destructible, your actions mean more than ever! #indiedev #indiegame #wishlistwednesday
unlabelledView post →Testing a dynamic game like Din's Champion is challenging. I try to die to spawn a gravestone, an avatar spawns to help. I work on torch effects and it starts raining. I test mining ore effects, monsters attack my lifestone. Theses are just examples from today. :) #indiedev
unlabelledView post →I'm kind of working on a clan experiment this week for Din's Champion. I don't want to change the arch-nemesis focus though. Will clans work in this kind of game? Which features should be present? Will they enhance the game or be a distraction? #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →I was going through our Din's Champion Steam reviews and noticed that one of them was from someone with over 1,000 hours played. I think 1,000 hours played for a $20 game is pretty good value. :)
unlabelledView post →Today is Soldak's 20th anniversary! In that time, we have fully released 7 games and 4 expansions. Our 8th game, Din's Champion, is currently in Early Access: store.steampowered.com/app/2880010/...
unlabelledView post →Its showtime! and yes the comment from earlier was actually relevant! Suprise! todays game is Din's Champion, an odd mix of dins curse and something like terraria! yall may have noticed i have a weakness for terraria like games, so of course were giving this a go! #vtuber
unlabelledView post →Since i was alerted to @soldak.com 's Din's Champion getting its 1.0 patch very very recently how about we take another look at it? Its always good fun to see how a game has progressed after a while, been a year or so since i last popped in. Lets see how it is! #vtuber #vsky
unlabelledView post →I'm going to try to start posting more screenshots of our upcoming game, Din's Champion. #screenshot #indiegame
unlabelledView post →Din's Champion is the latest game from @soldak.com with a very involved take on ARPG design store.steampowered.com/app/2880010/...
unlabelledView post →I added a banner to Din's Champion for each monster type in the game today. That's 101 banners!
unlabelledView post →Version 0.805 of Din's Champion is now available! This patch optimizes the game better, fixes a few hitches, and fixes a bunch of minor issues.
unlabelledView post →Version 0.803 of Din's Champion is now available! This patch balances the early game so it is much more newbie friendly, tones down some traps & dangerous objects, fixes torches being destroyed, makes enemy NPCs much more reasonable, and fixes a bunch of minor issues.
unlabelledView post →In the next Din's Champion build, you will be able to lock doors so that the townspeople can't wander into the dangerous world. Sometimes game features sound pretty terrible if you reword them slightly. :)
unlabelledView post →The Din's Champion demo store page and build have now been submitted to Steam for review. It might still take a little while to go through the rest of the process, but hopefully everything is done on my side so I can fully focus on the game again.
unlabelledView post →Looks like I'm not going to get a Din's Champion build out this week. I did get a few things done on the game, but most of my work this week has been admin stuff, mostly tax related.
unlabelledView post →Version 0.815 of Din's Champion is now available! This patch updates all of the in-game help pages, adds more to the tutorial to get players quickly up to speed, and fixes a few other minor issues.
unlabelledView post →Streaming more Din's Champion (developed by @soldak.bsky.social) with AliasBot and CrathPlays! Super pumped to check out the new patch tonight :D Also, might check out a new game later tonight afterwards 👀
unlabelledView post →Version 0.804 of Din's Champion is now available! This patch adds a bunch of quality of life features (smart mining, stack to all nearby chests, crafting list sorting/filtering, etc), balances the early game better, and fixes a bunch of minor issues.
unlabelledView post →@Krikket did you see that the Din's Legacy/Din's Curse people are making a new Terraria-style game called Din's Champion?
unlabelledView post →Most of my changes to Din's Champion this week ended up being UI updates, all so I can make a trailer. Luckily all of the changes do improve the game, so progress was made on multiple fronts this week.
unlabelledView post →I was not originally going to add shadows to Din's Champion, but I got them working yesterday. The game looks better and more importantly it's easier to distinguish the foreground layer from the background layer.
unlabelledView post →I got way into Din's Champion after its v1.0 release. I'm glad I did, because the game is fucking nuts (complimentary)
unlabelledView post →Din's Champion Leaves Early Access With 1.0 Patch After Two-Year Run Din's Champion hit 1.0 on Steam after roughly two years in early access. Soldak's first side-scrolling game fixes skill cooldowns, NPC multipliers, and monster digging in the final patch.
unlabelledView post →Streaming #DinsChampion (developed by @Soldak) with the buds AliasBot and ShakeTheBox! We haven't played this in months, but we're playing to help celebrate the game's 1.0 milestone update today! Also the dev is super cool and added our logo as an in-game painting :D
unlabelledView post →Streaming more Din's Champion with our buddies AliasBot and CrathPlays! Last time we were forced to reckon with the game's increased difficulty with the more recent game patches, but this time we're ready for it, plus my necromancer should be able to summon more skeletons now 💀
unlabelledView post →the current Din's Champion trailer on Steam does a good job inventory'ing what is in the game which might allow a player to guess if it might be for them - so my immediate inclination would be to emphasize the language and visual storytelling to that intended player
unlabelledView post →Streaming Din's Champion (developed by @soldak.bsky.social) with AliasBot and CrathPlays! I really enjoy playing this game with these cool dudes each week while we try out the newest weekly build :D Might heck around with our @cavesofqud.com run afterwards if there's time
unlabelledView post →Streaming more #DinsChampion with our buddies AliasBot and CrathPlays! Afterwards we might play some #DungeonClawler as well! 👀
unlabelledView post →Streaming #DinsChampion (developed by @soldakent2) with AliasBot and CrathPlays! Last time we got all the way up to level 15 with our cleric and we got to beat a few iterations of the game, so let's see what tonight shall entail! Feel free to chill with us :D #keymailer
unlabelledView post →Streaming #DinsChampion (developed by @soldakent2) with AliasBot and CrathPlays! Super excited to experience this game for the first time with these great dudes, and I'm grateful to have gotten a review key for this game from #Keymailer :D Feel free to chill with us
unlabelledView post →With the type of games that we make, balancing things is always interesting. Now that things like oil and pollution can catch on fire in Din's Champion, there is all of a sudden smoke everywhere and suffocation might be the most dangerous thing in the game.
unlabelledView post →I updated all of the current help topics today for Din's Champion. I did not realize how much of it I would need to rewrite from our last game.
unlabelledView post →I started optimizing Din's Champion game speed a little over the weekend. The changes I implemented only sped things up by like 5%, but I reduced the RAM usage by like 25%, so I'm counting that as a big win even if not my original goal.
