The Z key is in the middle of the keyboard for a huge portion of the world, developers. In this game you better not let go of WASD to reach all the way over there. Or the mouse, for that matter. And that already is both hands being unable to reach it. The mouse starts out extremely oversensitive, sending you into uncontrollable spins every…

Instead of enjoying the game, you'll be wrestling with the horrible control scheme to perform even the simplest of tasks (like moving through a corridor) and if you have motion sickness then have a barf bag ready b/c you'll be projectile vomiting after about 5 minutes. The game otherwise looks really good and seems like it could be a lot of fun but, once again, I wouldn't buy it unless you can play it in VR.

POV: you got this game thinking it's an amazing simulation game, but 10 minutes in and you're like "STOP ROTATING ALL OVER THE PLACE, WHAT THE ACTUAL...?" I believe what happened to this indie game is... that they had a stable VR version but only people who actually own a VR could play it, so what to do? The devs decide to make a Non-VR game... The only problem is, the whole premise of the game falls flat. If you dare to move your mouse just a little bit to the side,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like a mix of Descent and Superman 64. The controls are absolute ass, and you can't rebind them either. Not that it would help this turd. Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the tutorial, escaped out to make some settings changes, and it made me run the tutorial again. Got so bored with it by that point that I uninstalled. Horrible controls. Would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DON´T BUY ! GAME DOES NOT START ! I started the game over 100 times to get over 10 minutes "playtime" to write this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game about finding keys to open doors where the main villains are the nauseating controls. This is really a tech demo of something that could have been an actual game with another 5 years dev time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi all. Impulse buy. Why not under £3. What a gem! Yes KB controls bit of a fiddle. With x-box 360 excellent 6dof. Nice calm leisurely pace. nice sound. good grafixs. well recommended if your not a blast everything fiend. THE TOAD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy 6DOF games, whenever I have a chance I try to play any proposition from that genre. Detached is a very interesting entry, doing away with shooting (almost entirely, you do get rockets at some point). Not without it's flaws (the control scheme is weird, it shows that it is really meant to be played on VR) and I wish there were more people in the multiplayer (fingers crossed, the game was relased recently, so there's a chance). All in all, if you like 6DOF games, space and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Detached: Non-VR Edition feels like a stripped-down version of what could have been a thrilling experience. The controls are clunky and unintuitive without VR, making navigation frustrating rather than immersive. The game’s core appeal is completely lost in this version. It ends up feeling more like a tech demo than a full-fledged game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you get over controls, game is realy nice!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Detached is a VR centric hybrid first person adventure and first person FPS where you're an astronaut in zero-G, and the zero-G movement is central to the game. It's also completely terrible, apparently designed to make the movement as awkward and uncontrollable as possible. There's a ridiculously huge deadzone for mouselook that makes you drag your mouse around huge distances just to try turn. When you are out of the deadzone, the controls are hypersensitive, and there's also a ridiculous…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful game placed in space, originally created for VR and now available in nonVR version. It's FPX game where we want to survive and find a way to get back home safely from malfunctioned space station. This will require a skill to control your spacesuit powered with fuel. We also need a oxygen and both of these can by found around by exploring an open world of the damaged space station. Some puzzle needs to be solved in the game to complete some of the tasks like opening the doors or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful space, interesting gameplay, however, after a dozen or so minutes of continuous opening of the door, the gameplay gets boring. I understand that the assumption was made good game for VR immersion, but it would be nice if the developers could add more tasks to do, or increased the number of players in pvp multi to even 2 vs 2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was first excited for this, ad the Vr version made me utterly nauseous. However, after trying this out, the awful control scheme kept me away this time. Shame as it seems like a neat concept, just unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wow i gave a bad review at first because my controller didnt work but i got it to work in arcade mode glade i tried again yall should tell people that in the at the start . i bought the bundle version so i was pretty upset when my controller didnt work with a game that said it had full controller support. but for any one else that buys this game because of full controller support arcade mode seems to work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking at YouTube videos, I would like to play Detached with VR goggles, but I do not have them. Without VR is also great, but for sure the best impression stays in the goggles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →90's and 2000's rappers need to do something better. If you were in the game Def Jam Vendetta or Def Jam Fight for New York you need to be doing community work, not start a fucking podcast. Detached asses
unlabelledView post →Jim in Wee Jim’s office today, watching the game with a patch over his right eye. Probably wondering where he could get one for his left eye. Detached retina, most likely. Hopefully nothing more serious (not that a detached retina isn’t serious). Take it easy and get well soon Jim.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried multiplayer mode. Race much better than Capture the flag. It's hard to maneuver without acceleration, so you should pay attention to the rocket, shield and boost supplies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While waiting for Star Horizon (lol), it's worth to play and feel the endless space. At first, I thought it was a spacecraft cockpit. The helmet's textures are great!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute garbage controls. Playing with gamepad is recommended which is terrible, mouse and keyboard is even worse. Don't punish yourself with this crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →High octane gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are super jank and it made me play through the tutorial 4 times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel this is a title that was best left in VR only. I have both versions and VR is definitely the way to go. On a normal screen I can imagine a few getting motion sick with it, although I don't. A combo of controls, video performance and gameplay in 2D/£D is what fails here. In VR, with touch controllers, it is a bit more stable and intuitive to play. Thumbs down for this specific version although the main game is okay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like it would be a good game to play, if it would play. Will not function on Windows 8.1.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very similar to Adr1ft, but with VR support on board. Steering with keyboard is a bit dificult. It's hard to balance with a rotation, and I do not even try to touch mouse. Looking forward to try multiplayer mode. Unfortunately I cannot join session with other player.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pleasant and worth attention thanks to the awesome music! I did not have the opportunity to play multiplayer yet. Does anyone know what it looks like?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can't handle VR nause'a, this one is for you. If you CAN handle it - the VR version is probably better for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/Vu3_-NQcE9Y Drifting around in space flipping buttons is a bit dry make less enjoyable by the overly complex movement modes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't recommend - spent a frustrating 5 mins in the tutorial trying to get to grips with the Gods awful key binds before just giving up and uninstalling. I have no idea what the story might be like, but going by the fact that the very first line of in game dialog is just as annoying as the controls I likely never will.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Allows you to restart a level without confirmation prompt – great way to lose progress
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The awful controls make this a headache to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this in a huge bundle. Wery bad controls. 1 You cant change key bindings. 2 Incredible sesitive contols. on all dificulty modes. 3 A controller makes it 1% easier to control than keyboard. Still way to sensitive. 4 No waypoints on what to do/next objective is. 5 visuals are very good. But I rather have bad visuals with playable controlls. Do not waste your money on this game. If you still want it. Get it in a big bundle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished #Detached . Not recommended. Astronaut VR titles are nearly a dime a dozen, and Detached -- itself little more than a tech demo -- might be the worst of them all. With only the feeblest semblance of a story, the game is joyless, incredibly visually boring to the point of confusion, and actively unpleasant to play and control. In a world where Lone Echo exists, there is no reason for anybody to experience Detached. #games #gaming #review

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to recommend this game, it's quite a nice, short FPS story. Flying around in an authentic zero-g experience on Realistic mode was amazing, it's the kind of game I like most. There's not much shooting, just floating through space finding the path out, with enough light puzzles to not be boring. Unfortunately, finding the small progression MacGuffins in level 2 was awful. They were hidden away and difficult to find when trying to progress the story. It took me a few hours flying…
