When multiple users and myself asked the devs for a fix, we were told they would not be fixing the issue and if we, the users, can't fix the issue ourselves by rolling back the game version (which many can no longer do) that we should just refund the game. So those who paid for the game and were enjoying it before the patch I suppose it's just too bad they can't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s as if they’re playing a video game.. all of them, the “strong man” voters included. Detached, fired up and inhuman.
unlabelledView post →A game of Swarm Mode, with the newly painted (and not yet finished) Detached models! Proper photos of the army once I finish painting the bosses.
unlabelledView post →Broken. No longer works. Devs confirmed they're not planning on fixing. This was one of the best vr games out back in the day.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I currently have about six minutes of "game play" on record. That may not seem like a lot, but it sure feels like a lot when it's in two second increments before the game crashes. I have managed to see the logo in my headset once so far. I've reinstalled the game at least 5 times. This may have been a good game at one point, but if you check the discussion threads you can see the developer responding to threads saying they no longer support it and will make no efforts to troubleshoot or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unintuitive and frustrating controls. Not optimized for the Steam controllers. Bland visuals, barebones story, boring gameplay. I'm glad I got this with a Humble Bundle because this is not worth the full price of admission.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does not deserve your dollars. A lot of the criticism left on this game is valid, yet the users own fault. I thoroughly believe that the developer made the controls difficult on purpose, which is honestly fine. What I don't enjoy is the steep difficulty curve, Im pretty adept in VR spacegames and quickly got a handle of the controls. I experienced no discomfort with moving around, even quickly. But the first 'real' mission is a race where you have to hit 3 or 4 points within 3…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if the game is great or not. Hard to give a proper review when you the game won't go past the TUTORIAL! Waited a year to see if it was fixed and nope, 3 more runs in the tutorial and I'm uninstalling again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incompatible with Meta Quest 2. All that you can do is move your head around inside of the helmet which does not move with you. The first thing you see is a screen pop up when trying to start the game that asks for bindings. No option for Quest 2 and defaults to Oculus touch. Oculus rift doesn't seem to have any binding either. When I try to assign any, it keeps kicking back out to the binding screen again. Very disappointed and surprised that it doesn't work with the most popular VR…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is completley unplayable on Quest 2, there's no controller bindings so when you launch the game you are stuck at the main screen. Too bad since it looks really cool.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sry, but no. The control mechanics are game breaking. Why can't you just direct yourself via actual use of VR aka HEADTRACKING... Changing your helmet direction via the vive controllers is the worst design choice ever...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY devs broke it for g2 and refuse to fix it so they can go ♥♥♥♥ OF
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn't feel like a VR game, it feels like a terrible port of a normal game. I don't think anyone likes how this game controls, you're basically strapped to a chair with your head braced. You can't move your arms, you can't move your head, you can't even walk around. The controls are unintuitive, you use your head to interact with objects and the hand controllers are useless other than pressing the interact button or turning and thrusting towards locations. It's absolute garbage,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure if I should post a positive or negative review for this game. It seems like solid game, just not built for VR experience. Pros: This game gives a solid 'man in space' feel (as long as you do not look inside man made structures). Overal atmosphere is solid. Cons: 1. Movement. You can't push yourself of surfaces, you can't use environment to decelerate, you can't attach yourself to surfaces. I might have a relatively high 'VR in space' movement standards, but I feel like these ones…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic experience ! If you ever dreamed about being an astronaut or going to space i think this is one of the best way to realize that dream. Of course lone echo is better but it's not available on steam... Great graphics, good feelings of being in zero-g, good controls. It's lacking content and might be a little too slow paced for sure but just for the views the game offers and the great feeling of being in space it's worth it. A must have for every space enthusiast and a great way to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look only interaction (no real motion control support). And broken menus that don't even let you start the game. There are many, many better VR games than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An awesome experience that I put off for far too long and when having the first play was upset that I had. Looks stunning in VR, the soundtrack is awesome. voicework controls all very well done. I surprised that there was not more of a buzz about this game but glad I've found it now. Video 5 minute review: https://youtu.be/Vud19iGdZfg Disclaimer: I have dozens of games I have to try in the limited VR time I have right now. So don't expect lots of hours as everytime I get time in VR I have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was told the game was fixed and that compatibility was added for the quest 2/3. controls still don't work, no quest bindings.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game can not start, keeps crashing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Causes insane amounts of motion sickness, especially when controls stop responding and you begin to whirl 360 like Tony Hawk getting high score in first person view. Yes, I tried breaking, upon releasing break, character started to whirl again. You owe me a carpet cleaning voucher.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2 You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/-8hQrJJeNKg Detached is a zero-gravity space simulation game. It is hard-core. I quit playing this game about halfway through (I watched a full walkthrough). It's not a bad game per se, but it definitely has some negatives you have to overlook to enjoy this experience. The biggest negative is the control scheme(s). None of the different control methods felt good. You need to spend time in the game to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Detached is lovely. It's an experience. It's intense as hell. If you're lucky enough not to be susceptible to VR sickness, consider disabling the comfort options, and "strap in".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I don't understand why this is a VR exclusive game. I love VR, but it just doesn't make any sense here. The game doesn't use the Index Controller's 6DOF tracking aside from the menus, and you can't even hold them properly because pressing the grips is used for rotating. I can't reach for objects with my hands to interact with them; it's just a matter of flying close and pressing A. You're much better off using a regular Xbox controller instead, and at that point there is really no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cant reccomend this game, the controls on my quest 2 are just too sensitive and no way to adjust it. 1 min tutorial took me 10 min and made me motion sick, ive never been motion sick in VR. i can spin in circles hanging from a lantern high in the sky in other games so problem. Graphics are nice, looks cool, wish i could play it....but i doubt it'll ever get fixed. IF it does ill replay and adjust my review. I only paid $1 for the game so im not mad or requesting a refund in hopes someday ill…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cumbersome movement, boring gameplay consisting of floating around pushing buttons. At least it looks somewhat decent - outdoor environment, station interiors are very basic and uninspired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've beaten the game and I cannot recommend it in its current state, but it's close to being quite good. Pros: -Good graphics -Great music! -Good puzzle solving elements. Cons: -Poor controls: I played with Arcade controls (which is supposedly easier) and it's frustrating how loose the controls are. I understand it's suppose to simulate being in space, but when there are timed puzzles where you have to navigate through tight corridors, you end up bumping into objects and overshooting your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: This is literally the first (and only) game I've ever refunded on Steam. I've got quite a bit of experience with VR. I've got my "VR-legs" and don't really have any physical issues with games--even those that can be disorienting. My system is spec'd pretty high--well beyond this game's minimum. I wanted to like Detatched...I really did. It looks like a title that I'd be into. The graphics are solid, it's got a sci-fi theme, you're floating around in space. And it is all those…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/GuKjm8Wc19E Detached is a space exploration game with unique mechanics and impressive presentation. You’re free flying inside space stations, and open space, looking for the rest of your crew. As you fly along you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for oxygen and fuel tanks to refill your system, and thankfully the easy difficulty lets those last a long time. It feels like a puzzle game in some respects. You need to open airlocks, activate panels at the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction Detached is the VR-only debut title from indie developers, Anshar Studios. In Detached you play an isolated astronaut floating in space. I found the introduction slightly hard to follow, but from what I can gather, you and your crew are scavengers exploring an abandoned space station orbiting an unnamed planet. Due to space constraints in your ship you're travelling in a cargo pod that becomes detached from the rest of the ship by a cocky pirate with a bad attitude. You're left to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It could have been a good game. The space flight physics (in realistic mode) could have been enjoyable. But they managed to utterly ruin it with one basic oversight: controls. No support for vive-like controls on the Index controller since the explicit index controller update. No ability to customise the bindings beyond a few presets. No support for standard gamepads & joysticks. Other than the official XBox controller, that is. What where they thinking? This is a space game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Won't load anything past the intro. Just keeps re-playing the same tutorial. returned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does not promise... its a pain to fly around, the controls are too difficult to master, the brakes suck. In order to enjoy flying on this thing you need 10000 flight hours. you are enclosed inside a suit that does not move... if you want to look around you have to use the controls to spin and go forwards, because the helmet does not move... the sense of vertigo or everything the game trailer promises is just not there. it is better to play a free vr game of rollercoasters than this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thankfully I don't have that motion sickness issue others have when playing VR games so I changed the settings to be fully immersive and it is fun! I felt like I was really in a space suit out in space. The trailer doesn't do it justice with how it really looks with a VR headset on. It's really amazing. It took some getting used to in the beginning with the controls but once I figured out how everything worked I was floating all over the place exploring everything. Fun game. I like it. :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yes i know i played it for a bit. controllers are way to weird to control. i dont get dizzy or anything. 2 problems i find. i feel like im stuck in a very futuristic suit......... but i have to twist my hand to move? really????????? and everytime i move i see only 40% of the screen??? WHY? why limit movement.... finally i can flying around free in space yet im stuck to moving twisting a hand and then hitting the brake button to stop spinning.. its slow. boring and annoying. plus the suit feels…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its soo awesome. i tried all spacewalk games and this one nailed it. however im not too fond of the touch controls. i wish they allowed the thumbstick movement BUT the touch controls do work great when you practice with it. GO SIMULATION MODE NOT ARCADE. TAKE OFF EAGLE EYE. I DID NOT GET ANY MOTION SICKNESS but some ppl are different. all in all fantastic game. looks and sounds excellent. great work devs. just allow the thumbsticks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good Sound design on point The world is gorgeous The feeling of solitude has never been more authentic. The Bad Compared to other VR titles I've experienced, the controls are so horrendously unintutitive that game is unplayable. Motion Sickness is almost inevitable with this title, regardless of how seasoned you are with VR. TL;DR If you're a fan of games like Descent and Sublevel Zero, this game may be for you. If you are prone to motion sickness, do not buy this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wait what. why the fffk doesnt this say DEMO. its not the game, its the demo. now I have this demo trash clogging up my PURCHASE LIBRARY. what a pathetic way to try and beg for attentionfrom what ever trash company made this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game on summer sale for my new Oculus Rift and sadly I'm gonna have to give this game NOT A GO the graphic and stuff is amazing but it has a really terrible controller configuration, u can't change the sensivity not even invert the Y axis nothing... I feel sad because this game has a really a lot of potential for a VR Game but sadly as i said its unplayable at least for me =/ ! EDIT: After the reply from the developer ( which i didn't expect it thank u ) I feel a little ignorant,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so, i tried this game a year ago, and enjoyed the small piece i played. but then i got busy and put it aside. when I returned today. it kept crashing my system. Creators, what ever you did in the time I wasn't playing you completely ruined the game for people who have an Oculus Rift S I literally cannot play this anymore because of changes you made.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game detected the Index controllers, and tracked their movement, but kept telling me I needed to connect a controller to continue. So I tried playing with keyboard, but the key mapping is terrible and you can't change it. So I tried playing with an xbox controller, and control was just very clunky anyway because it requires constant use of both sticks, the triggers, the bumpers, and pushing in on a stick just for the most basic navigation. Movement is very slow and just sucks out the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A VR game that wasn't designed for VR. Puke simulator guaranted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the most hardcore experience you can get out of your VR headset. Wanto make it out of shattered space station? You're in for a tough zero gravity ride, equipped with uncomfortable space suite, difficult controls (even on arcade mode) and then there are even enemies to boot you, save for all dangers that already await you in open space. And prepare your stomach - this is that kind of VR game. Still an unforgettable experience. Who told you being an astronaut was an easy job?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't like it honestly. The only good thing is the enviroments but the control is very akward.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great immersive experience for everyone, who want to feel something more in VR! Steering with touch requires some time to adjust. Instant brake is very useful even in Arcade mode. Game for these, who aren't prone to nausea
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very immersive with beautifull graphics. The task of exploring initially comes down to clicking panels, but once you discover the three modules, the fun begins to get better and better. Great fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a lot of problems with this game, the game just would not start after installing it, it would close by itself when I tried to start it, I have a rtx 3090 and an intel core i9 12900k, that was the reason why it did not work, it is not compatible with new generation graphic cards, I struggled a lot to make it work on my own, and once I got it I realized that the game is not compatible with the headset controllers, only with keyboard, reason why it will make you dizzy a lot even if you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Closest to the zero g experience, fun and does what it says. Important is learning how to power! break, really, really useful. (click on thumbstick with the '>>>' ability on ). And just read the guide's, it will save you a little frustration. I use the 75% view on acceleration and is adjustable to comfort. Oh and remember: there is no up. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, you only get motion sick if you don't know how to control your astronaut self. All you have to do is not be a loser and understand physics and get gud.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are so bad. Motion sickness free of charge too
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm good with VR, but this made me sick. I love the premise for this game, but the controls just don't make any sense for a VR game. It feels like it was meant for controllers and VR controls were tacked on. That, or it's just a 4-year-old game that was already using outdated VR controls. You don't move and traverse and even look around at all like you'd expect, which leads to a lot of motion sickness.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So i revisited the game with the index update and the controls are still borged. You just spend all the time spinning around with little to no control to the character. The graphics are relatively good even but you dont get to see them because you are in a huge ass helmet that limits the whole vision, and rest of the vision is always gone with the stupid movement effect that whenever you move you only see small circle in the middle and everything else goes black. as to the game itself? i dont…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is ALL about the movement. If you get sick easy I guess don't play but you should know better honestly at this point. You expect to spin around in space with NO problems no amount of computer code is gonna prevent that. There are fisheye options you can turn on. For the rest the best experience is turn all that crap off and learn the simulation movement style. Once you get it down it's great. Blows me away though the reviews. Got the gogogogo generation dumbfounded how they have to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just quit in the middle of the tutorial. I had a terrible experience. The control scheme is either really poor or the Vive > Index control delta stinks. I would return this game for a full refund if I could. Sadly, I bought it several months ago and only had a chance to start playing now. Oh man, so so terrible. I hope its just the fact that I'm on an Index and not using Vive controllers. Also, steam needs to do a better job of helping set expectations around these VR titles that are not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok. I seem to have luck for Polish made games recently. 3 in a row were from Polish developers. This one is: + well made + feel really real - controls are weird - i couldn't play using VR controllers so I was playing using xbox360 controller in the end - while changing the direction where character is facing it's like you're looking though a pipe. All around is darkened. This was most unpleasant - producing motion sickness (quickly) - there's almost no story But it is well made. Textures are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this on sale. Amazing bargain. Graphics beautiful. Navigation hard work to start with. Pity you can't turn the helmet off. Better than lone echo in terms of feel and look.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game only for players with iron stomach. Dev keeps you warned all the time, and launch trailer definitely show us, what we can expect from the game. Zero-g enviro is unique and that moment after leaving first station gives me goosebombs. Cannot wait to play more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great experience so far. Graphics on the top lvl, one of the most impresive games for VR so far. Looking forward to try other space VR experiences. How would you compare Detached to Lone Echo?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't tell much about the game. Going through the tutorial with this horrible controls is NO FUN!!! After managing that finally it doesn't get better. It keeps up the frustration with the controls. Well, I have no idea, why anyone would implent such stupid controls! :( Also I can't really see much with my space suit. The calibration seems to be a bit off, which ist also very annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only less then one hour on it, but honestly do not get the bad reviews... probably will get it later on, don't know. One of the biggest complaints I read about was regarding the movement. I did play in arcade mode, but the movement is quite good, and there are 3 different options to choose from. Lets say I started to handle it pretty fast, and I think anyone will too if they have some sense of orientation. it's space, zero gravity, if you are going in one direction, you will keep on that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome and deserves much better than the "mixed" review ratings it has - it really makes you feel like you're an astronaut out in the expanse of space! It simulates a zero g environment which makes the controls difficult to learn and make it very easy to lose control - BUT - once you learn them, moving through the environment becomes easy(ish). Sadly this game isn't for everyone though. If you are even a little susceptible to motion sickness, this game will get you sick within…
