Demolition Man
In 1996, brash L.A. detective John Spartan and maniac killer Simon Phoenix are both sentenced to decades in a cryogenic prison as punishment for a rescue mission gone wrong. When Phoenix escapes 36 years later to wreak havoc on the future, Spartan is awakened to capture his nemesis the old-fashioned way. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Watched the 1995 cheeseball cyberpunk flick Johnny Mnemonic. It's a cornball classic, and is sort of like Demolition Man meets the 90s Super Mario Bros. movie. Reeves' acting is... interesting lol Overall it's a fun time if you just enjoy the silliness. Made me want to play Cyberpunk 2077 again lol
unlabelledView post →I recall a biology teacher in high school, a self identified science fiction enthusiast, who scoffed when he noticed me reading Bester’s THE DEMOLISHED MAN. “Have you read it?” I asked. “No. I saw the movie.” Demolition Man. He thought I was reading the novelization of Stallone’s Demolition Man.

unlabelledView post →This awful movie isn't a national security film. It is THE national security film. It's one of those dumb films that accidentally stumbled into multiple prophetic insights, like Demolition Man. The big thing everyone already knows Toys got right was drones, but it called a LOT of things.
unlabelledView post →Look, I'm just gonna say it: Demolition Man is an extremely underappreciated film in general, and *completely* unappreciated as a cyberpunk film in particular. It's also truly one of the great satires from top to bottom. If you like RoboCop and/or Idiocracy, Demolition Man feels like a natural fit.
unlabelledView post →Demolition Man is a film I actually rather enjoy, even if I find it's politics kinda...odious
unlabelledView post →All rewatches this week. All good ones. I don't think I've ever enjoyed Sandra Bullock more than in Demolition Man. She was hilarious, she was gorgeous (still is), and she understood the assignment. Everyone did. My Letterboxd: boxd.it/88Din #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday #filmsky 📽️🍿

unlabelledView post →the biggest movie soundtrack fumble i can think of is that DEMOLITION MAN could've had a bunch of early-90s grindcore bands do like ten-second covers of famous radio jingles

unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Year 2, Day #68 "Demolition Man" (Marco Brambilla/1993) Tremendously fun action movie. As much as I like Sly, Wesley Snipes owns this fucking movie and chews up the scenery. You've got to check this one out!
unlabelledView post →Demolition Man is a horribly underrated movie and Wesley Snipes is wonderfully unhinged in it
unlabelledView post →One of my favorite parts of the the 1993 film "Demolition Man" is at the end when Sylvester Stallone asks in reference to the toilet system: "How's that damn three seashell thing work?", implying that he essentially has had a shitty ass the entire film because he was too afraid to ask before.

unlabelledView post →One of these films is about a ruthless killer using every tool at his disposal, causing destruction and death in his wake, and the cop, frozen in his time, tasked to bring him down. Considering where it takes place, there may be tacos. The other movie being DEMOLITION MAN.
unlabelledView post →Watching a little known movie “Demolition Man.” It’s okay if you’ve never heard of it.
unlabelledView post →Enhance your calm: "Demolition Man" turns 30. Sci-fi action comedy is an under-appreciated gem of '90s action movies, precisely because it unapologetically leans into the massive explosions and campy humor with wild abandon. arstechnica.com/culture/2023...
