I want to see #filmsky go to bat for some once-popular, now rarely talked about movies. I’ll go: True Lies is still better entertainment than all 3 Avatars.

neutral · AI labelView post →You're telling me an active shooter was gonna get through the front door of the WHCA dinner through layers of security and reporters the one year he actually shows up to the event. True Lies was a movie. 🤣
neutral · AI labelView post →Like the movie, the game has that cool "You're fired" ending scene True Lies (Mega Drive, Beam Software, 1995)
neutral · AI labelView post →True Lies (1994) Directed by James Cameron
neutral · AI labelView post →Here's the massive problem with this article: "If you've never seen True Lies you're probably under 30," it tells us. And you have a hazy memory of seeing it in the theater. But watched it a bunch on DVD where it looks nothing like it did in the theater. aftermath.site/true-lies-4k...
neutral · AI labelView post →The crazy thing is... movies like Aliens and True Lies were filmed on 35mm film! Unlike early digital movies shot in 1080p, they doesn't need upscaling to be 4k! The film just needs to be scanned at a higher 4k resolution! But I guess that costs more money.
neutral · AI labelView post →#FilmHistory On this day, 1994, James Cameron’s spectacular action-comedy TRUE LIES, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jamie Lee Curtis, was released. It was the 1st movie to have a production budget of $100-million & was the 3rd highest grossing movie of 1994 (behind The Lion King and Forrest Gump).
neutral · AI labelView post →without saying halloween, fav jamie lee curtis film? 🎥 for me… ‘True Lies’ (1994) 🖤
positive · AI labelView post →True Lies is a fascinating movie because it appears to be made by James Cameron while he’s undergoing a kind of Jekyll and Hyde situation
neutral · AI labelView post →#JulyMovieChallenge Spy in a film Harry Tasker in True Lies (1994) A big thumbs down to James Cameron who's making like 5 Avatar sequels but never gave us True Lies 2. Booooooo!
negative · AI labelView post →Tonight's movie is True Lies.
neutral · AI labelView post →EVERYTHING with the new "Evil Na'vi" - especially the new lady villain - is FULL-TILT "Orcs in facepaint and beads" pre-1950s pulp-western/jungle-adventure 'savage' stuff (and also the HORNIEST Cameron has been in a movie since True Lies 🤣) and they're *great* bad guys but WOW it's right on the edge

neutral · AI labelView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Year 2, Day #21 "True Lies" (James Cameron/1994) Tremendously fun action movie but a terrible 4K transfer. James Cameron, what the hell were you thinking? Anyways, still worth checking out.

neutral · AI labelView post →I refuse to engage with that post that says "Without naming True Lies, what's your favorite Schwarzenegger movie?" Who the fuck was gonna name True Lies?
neutral · AI labelView post →I only saw “True Lies” in the theater because I knew the “Star Trek Generations” trailer was in front of it. But, I stayed for the movie and loved it. I feel like “Lies” was under the radar. Like, there was no hype, it just came to theaters and was a hit. Still a favorite of mine!
positive · AI labelView post →That Netflix movie 'Back in Action' looks like someone asked AI to create a mash-up of 'True Lies', 'Mr & Mrs Smith' and 'Nobody' with Bob Odenkirk - but I didn't realise someone had already done that...
neutral · AI labelView post →If True Lies is your favorite Jamie Lee Curtis film, I just hope you haven't watched it in a long time, and don't remember how virulently racist, and specifically Islamophobic, it is. Because while it's an otherwise fun film and she is super hot in it, that shit was VILE.
negative · AI labelView post →The Princess Bride (which he liked!): Do you actually know the entire movie by heart, mom? True Lies: Well. I’d say that aged poorly but I don’t think that should’ve been ok when it was released. (True.)
negative · AI labelView post →True Lies (1994) There's tons of glass breaking and things crashing through glass all over this movie, but I think the only glass that DOESN'T get broken are these tasteful glass block walls adorning the office of Juno Skinner, who's hobbies include ancient Persian antiquities and Crimson Jihad.
neutral · AI labelView post →just in case, attention alphabet agencies monitoring this: these are milk churns and the text from my post is a quote from the movie True Lies

neutral · AI labelView post →the number of movie and TV discs getting put out that are being run through some "AI" bullshit is truly disturbing. They ruined True Lies with these "tools" too, and that never got a decent DVD or normal Bluray release. So either you pirate the dirty film scan or live with it.
negative · AI labelView post →True Lies (1994), as a second chance romance, is a great Valentine's Day movie. Fight me.

unlabelledView post →When I saw the Pitt/Jolie film, it felt like a Hollywood studio riff on True Lies: "Say, instead of one spouse being unaware the other is a spy, let's make them both unaware!" Oddly, Amazon sells a "double feature" DVD set with both films.

unlabelledView post →TRUE LIES is such a fun film. Action, comedy, Arnie, Curtis, a Harrier Jump Jet. And only the third highest grossing film of 1994 (behind Forrest Gump (2nd) and The Lion King (1st))…which had a pretty monster year in movies, btw. Eminently rewatchable, too. No notes, Mr Cameron.
unlabelledView post →Very good news: the remaster of the upcoming Terminator 4K looks excellent, maybe even superior to the Titanic 4K in terms of the tech he’s using bringing out the natural qualities of the film vs whatever the hell happened to True Lies.
unlabelledView post →When I went to see ‘True Lies’ at the Grosvener cinema in Glasgow, a Scottish literary titan was behind me, asking their companion questions all the way through the film and kicking the back of my seat at all the exciting bits. For just £150, I’ll tell you who it was.

unlabelledView post →#FilmHistory On this day, 1994, the action thriller film SPEED was released. The film made $350.4 million on a $30–37 million budget, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 1994 (The other 4 were: #1 The Lion King, #2 Forrest Gump, #3 True Lies and #4 The Mask).

unlabelledView post →It’s Trash Tuesday, right? Tom Arnold should’ve been nominated for an Oscar for True Lies. Best “guy in the van” in an action movie, ever.
unlabelledView post →True Lies is such a good movie that even Tom Arnold didn't suck.
unlabelledView post →True Lies is a perfect film.
unlabelledView post →Stop. True Lies is the best bond movie of the 90s.
unlabelledView post →Yes! And I think the fact that Cameron continued to use miniatures & old-school rear projection through Titanic (his last movie shot on film--and yes, CG-heavy) contributes mightily to the feeling that all this stuff is really happening. Check out thus True Lies squence: youtu.be/beQUTtwNLnQ
