58 of 58 · most liked firstIntroduction Deadbeat Heroes. Another fine title made possible by a dev team’s collaboration with Square Enix through its Collective program. I must say, unlike the utter failure that is the Steam Direct initiative, Square has proper QA in place and really won’t allow any “floodgates” to be opened for digital drivel. It’s refreshing to see a company that cares more about its public image than sheer profit. That being said, this Steam debut for Deadbeat Productions has its small but noticeable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have given this game a thorough workout since release and really enjoyed it. PROS - Beautiful, 3D retro-superhero comic book style with more than a nod to Kingsman; - Compelling combo-points scoring mechanic; - Ability to steal super powers from villans and use them; - Wide range of challenging baddies to fight; - Great animation and variety of moves; - Cracking script with plenty of gags and hilarious voiceovers; - Local co-op is a blast. CONS - Controls can sometimes be a touch…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game has both the Local and Non-Local variants of the multiplayer tag it's only a local multiplayer game. I also managed to find multiple threads on the forums where the devs claimed to have removed the tags that weren't multiplayer they're still here. While the gameplay is good and solid I'm dissapointed that the devs mislead me and my friend like this as we only bought it due to its online multiplayer capabilities
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deadbeat heroes is unfortunately extremely boring… It’s way too repetitive. All you need to do is smash the buttons to punch enemies. You will then go from one scene into the next one. That’s the whole game. The game’s humour is fine, and the art style is cartoony. Other than that, there is nothing positive about this game to say. I can’t recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could say I love it - really I want to give it a thumbs sideways. On the positive side: the artwork is beautiful and watching it being played is really entertaining. The dialogue and color scheme are both really well delivered as well. On the negative side: there just doesn't feel like there's any substance or depth to it. Also - very little skill seems to be involved beside mashing. Overall - if you're desperate for a local-coop game that really basic beat-em-up this will do,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a miserable waste of time. It's okay at first but it quickly turned god awful. If you don't hit a certain grade in a level at the end, it won't unlock the next one so you have to do it over until you make the grade. It means making sure you keep your combo's up in each level and it isn't fun it's just annoying that I can't play how I want because the developer handcuffed me. So basically you can't just play through each level normally and enjoy the game like how it is in about 99.99% of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pacing of text pop ups and dialogue ruined the beat-em-up flow. It felt like everything was just delaying you even before each mission there is a painfully slow "3...2...1... GO!" and the dialogue you can skip through but each textbox takes a second to disappear from the screen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Title, however... This game has fun and simple mechanics along with some dry humor resulting in a great experience! Saying this the game tends to get very boring and doesn't have any aspects that makes me want to launch it over another game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game . a few bugs like cant reset the level and at the end of the level sometimes you get stuck in the fianl room. no results screen shows up but other than that its fast paced really fun if you into that frantic hotline miami gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game but kinda hard to defeat 4th part,is there any way?Two person vs 1 person with atomic bomb at their body holy shet
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Medium. Its fun enough but alot of the beat em up, juggling and wall running mechanics are in the end frustrating or pointless. Continually jumping and dive punching opponents who are knocked down makes it a bit of a drag. All together too easy unless bad luck catches you out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I ussually love superhero games and I would also love this one if it weren`t for the fact that, like other reviewer said the devs basically doesn`t let you enjoy this game at your own pace. To pass levels you`re OBLIGED to get a certain grade, ussually it`s C but that "C" grade requires a really great ammount of points to get. So basically you`re forced to try to do combos on enemies, which implies that you should hit the enemy trying to launch it into a wall so it can go into air and then hit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! Stylish and a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very generic 3D brawler that doesn't try too hard at anything. Gameplay, environments, music, story/writing...none of it was very good. After playing for maybe half an hour I found myself fully and completely bored.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a basic beat 'em up set in London's streets. There's some variety in the abilities you can unlock and use, and in the types of enemies you'll face. That's the only good thing I can say. Everything else about the game falls flat. It becomes repetitive and boring pretty quick. You're doing the same button smashing throughout each level. If it was only that, I would rate this as neutral and wouldn’t leave a review, but that's where the other issues become apparent as you make your way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a co-op console ported, superhero/comedy themed cell-shaded low poly 3D action brawler from Square Enix. Brawl baddies through various missions. The game works well in 4K and while it has limited customisability, it does work. The issue is mostly console-itis. The console portitude is heavy here. The controls a bit of a mess as a result and there's no mouse support. It's a pretty limited game, too. It might get a "maybe" if Steam offered that option, but they don't. Weighing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall = 7 / 10 A short and quirky superhero game with a cool and groovy British vibe. The humour is nowhere near as funny as it thinks it is and some of the voice acting is weak, but the overall aesthetic is nice and there are some good ideas here, both in the gameplay and setting. The game isn’t very difficult or very long, except for the final 2 chapters where the difficulty hikes up - far too many things to get stuck on, lots of enemies who fire multiple times, and lots of things to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deadbeat Heroes, a game that will give you a heroic feeling once you finish it! Unless you play in co-op - not expecting the game to get harder when another player joins ... - I wouldn't recommend this game to :dea:dbeats: the bosses are surprisingly easy, and even the final boss, Prime Sinister, is (relatively) easy, but especially the last 2 chapters took me some time to successfully complete (taking into account the required grade/score) -- 10-2 & 10-3 being brutally hard in my opinion. What…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great arcade game. Well-crafted art design and excellent game design, especially. Easy to learn, hard to master. Sarcastic story about superheroes. Replayability. Give it a try. When you master all the combat mechanics, battles turn into a hot dance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played this in local co-op mode, and it's quite fun, if simple. You can get in each others way a bit when playing and there is chaos on the screen. Hooked up to a TV with a pair of controllers is the way to go with it. Had a quick play solo, and it was actually easier on my own, and not near as much fun. If you like couch co-op games I would recommend it. It's a game that needs the local co-op to make it interesting and fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game. Overall it's a short but fun beat em up experience with style. That being said, I'd like to point out some missed opportunities here that if the game had improved upon could have excelled. First up, despite unlocking three other characters progressing through the game, they serve no other purpose whatsoever other than being a reskin of the player character. If each of them could have their unique movesets there would be much more variety during combat. Speaking of which,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 got it for less then 1$ when did punching off body parts and cutting off heads become Teen?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Delightfully charming, with an easy-to-learn, hard-to-truly-master rhythm that'll keep you coming back for more. Full of completely shameless fun. Unfortunately, the campaign is a bit short, and that's all there is to it, no workshop or anything. Oh well, still worth every penny.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deadbeat Heroes is a fast-paced brawler that combines comic-book style with 3D movement and over-the-top superhero action. Set in a quirky, cartoonish version of London, it focuses on momentum, melee combat, and timing rather than traditional button-mashing. The result is a light but energetic action game built around rhythm and precision. Players take on the role of vigilantes who lack real superpowers but use a prototype jet glove that grants speed boosts, wall runs, and midair attacks. Each…

unlabelledView post →I just don't feel like an English superhero
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's a cute little couch co op game, it does get a little repetitive despite it's short gameplay length, and also the addition of needing to reach letter rankings is a bit meh. Even if it never comes into play if you are decent at the game, it'll be in the back of your mind and you'll catch yourself making mistakes as you try to keep up combos, failing levels that you shouldn't honestly be failing at all. Also later in the game, there is a lot of stuff going on screen at the same time,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly can be a pretty fun and quick game, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is the movement and object physics annoying as hell. But it's a neat concept. I recommend it for anyone looking for a quick "Perfect" game on their profile.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can you make beat 'em up work with one punch combos? - yes, you can!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay, I guess. Controls are easy enough and the concept of stealing enemy powers is interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is action packed and simple to play. It also has a long game play good for hours of fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Joguinho ok. Bom pra passar o tempo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its perfect and funny!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entretenido y ágil, lo malo es que muy corto 3-4h. Si tiene un buen descuento vale la pena jugarlo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great hidden gem with comic styled graphics and fast paced combat pretty short tho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent Brawler. Gets progressively difficult in later stages. Story does have some humor and puns made by the wacky heroes and villains.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lack of options for basic playability as in my controller only controls player 2 and mouse/keys control player 1... and no menu options to change this or customize control. 3 minutes of trying to play was all i needed to dislike this very much. Also crashed twice in time played. No.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deadbeat Heroes is a Top-down viewed, beat'em up game with a superhero themed story line. Well...this game is pretty good. The graphics and sounds are like from a comic book, this is really fit to the game. The controlls are not that difficult, but I recommend playing this with controller. The plot is kinda forgetable, atleast gives you a reason to kick some ass. What I really liked about this game,is the obtainable abilities (if you defeat a boss, you get his/her ability). This can make a big…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Misfits take the stage Punches fly through comic streets Heroes earn their name
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/3xi8hTfmplY Mostly a button masher the small combat arenas lack the complexity to provide much long term appeal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fine if you get it for like 4 bucks or something maybe. It has a few good ideas but is extremely repetitive and boring. There is no challenge until the last few levels, which feel more like just too much stuff on screen rather than interesting problems. Extremely simple beat-em-up that is fine for what it is but gets too repetitive. Perhaps the worst things in this game are the menus and options. Who even makes a game nowadays that doesn't let you quit a level on the pause menu? Huh? If…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn't recommend this game, especially at full price. I have played up to and beat the 3rd boss and only 7% of players have reached that as of this post. However, it may be more fun co-op, maybe that 7% is actually a 14% due to split screen. I just feel like nothing is really changing from the beginning, besides a new power per villain, which has limited charges, and more enemy types, but they don't really change much up. I dislike any game with a progress gate, I don't like being forced…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Strikingly boring...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't understand anything while playing. But it was fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →look if your going to bother getting voice over artists, then how about an original concept rather than imitating clap trap (boarder lands) without the funny and also if you actually write some comedy material ..couldnt hurt. Plus being English is NOT a character in and of itself, trust me I live here its like giving up all expression and just stringing your nerve sets straight on to your guitar.Forced charisma alone does not A HAHA make! Iam not necessarily saying that it is annoying or boring…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny and simple superhero beat em up co-op masterpiece! 11/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too repetitive! It's hard to control where you hit No custom keyboard binding
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My son likes this, but the mechanics aren't fun enough for me to say the same.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Close to recommending for the comic book style/theme but it's just a bit too simplistic and repetitive. Moves have satisfying impact but you start with too few moves and things are to slow to expand (in terms of enemies and moves)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is extremely shallow despite being so focused on scoring. You only have a few moves at your disposal and they're all some variation of seeking dash punch. The combo management is non-existent, you just mash on an enemy with an endless series of punches into jump punches to S rank every level. Every level plays exactly the same, the same rectangle rooms leading into each other, the bosses and boss levels play out the same way as well. The only difficulty comes from the obscene amounts…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is hard to get the hang of, but once you do, you're far enough in that it's already getting repetitive. A very good combat system with nothing to support it. None of the areas feel unique and each new enemy and powerup does little to change things around.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am going to finish it, but there's a few annoying things that hold this back from actually being a good game. Look, the combos largely go together well, it offers some challenge, particularly later on (though it's not that difficult really) and sometimes the humour, such as it is, even lands. But it's near impossible to conventionally leave the game in the middle of a mission (using Steam to do it does work, but should not be necessary), or, restart a mission at all, and the game demands a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Action punch them up game which is simple, enjoyable but can get boring. Also, difficulty scales as you progress the game. Can also be played in LOCAL co-op. I liked it. I rate it 6.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun enough game to sink a few hours into. The combat starts off a bit bland, but the challenge level gradually increasing. Building combos and maintaining powerups gets addictive. I intend to keep playing deeper into the game. I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is cool if a bit repetitive. Unfortunately got stuck on 10-C after multiple attempts, yuck.
