We should be used to it, given how often movie sequels and follow-up novels go awry. But game sequels tend to build on prior entries rather than break down. I wish I could say that’s what Stealth Inc 2 does, but it’s not just the name that’s fallen apart here. Compared to Stealth Bastard this outing has some impressive new ideas that end up spoiled by crippling design and technical issues. And…

The game speed is bound to your monitor refresh rate so it will either run way too fast if you have good hardware or way too slow if you don't. Many have complained in the forums but there are no dev responses. A lot of people haven't been able to review this as Steam requires you to play the game before reviewing it, but it's unplayable for many. If your refresh rage is 60hz then you may not have this issue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much like the first game this is an awesome 2D stealth puzzler! Great mix of platforming, puzzles, and stealth action. It's wrapped up in a well detailed package perfect for a challenge. There's a lengthy campaign to enjoy as well as user created challenges. Each time you change sectors the game gets a little more complicated keeping you engaged with it. There's some new tools and new challenges waiting in this one. Some may find the new tools a little tricky to use but once you get the hang…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible platformer. You cannot figure logical consequences of your actions beforehand. There is no link between buttons, terminals and the effect they will cause. On top of that walls are shifting constantly, new passages are opening and closing based on scripted logic unknown to player. And that makes it terrible stealth / action game. Your survival depends on those unknown consequences and shifting walls. So you must try-and-die a few times anyway doing everything blindly like a monkey to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY. The game was abandoned by devs long ago, who didn't bother to fix the most glaring horrible problem. This game was one of my absolute favourite on the Wii U. Too see it here, in THIS AWFUL STATE is a crime. You will experience the most horrendous slow-down and be kept at about 1/3 speed if you play on any resolution that makes it so you can actually see anything. If you lower the resolution to maybe 800x600 (I'm not kidding) the game MAY play at proper speed. Or it may stay in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unacceptable precise timing required pull off a boosted jump using the inprecise LT. Getting this right seems to be a matter of luck. And getting lucky several times in a row while having to dodge moving lasers, forget it. Not sure how this made it past the testing phase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lackluster puzzles and OST. Lacks the charm of the first game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. Performs poorly, even though it's not graphically complicated 2. Art style wise it looks worse than Stealth Bastard. 3, There's some problem with the sound that means it sounds like it's been run through a bit crusher 4. I don't know if it's because I've played the first game, but this one is really uninteresting. It'd be nice if I could skip ahead. 5. I wasn't a fan of the combination of levels and metroidvania. I prefer Stealth Bastard 1, really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unplayable with my setup and a lot of users are having the same problem. Basically the game runs in slow motion and it's horrible. There has been neither fir nor responser from the developers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stealth Inc 2 is fun, however, it does not function correctly on high refresh rate monitors. The game speed is tied to the frame rate so anything higher than 60 fps and you move too fast to solve the puzzle. Anything lower than 60 fps and you move at a snail's pace. Seeing as I cannot properly enjoy the game at my desired frame rate, I can not recommend it in its current state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game seems like a pretty cool little concept and there's enough variation to keep it interesting however the game chokes on it's own mechanics. I got as far as trying to run away from some laser chasing guy but my character kept latching onto the walls instead of dropping down. This pretty much wrecked the game and any chance of progress which just ended in frustration.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring game that attempts to mix stealth and platforming and the result is disappointment as it's quite bad in both. It's really annoying that it's a stealth game in which if you're careful, you get penalized for being slow, what kind of design is that?! Stealth games are not supposed to be full of action.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game speed is tied to monitor refresh rate/fps and several impacts the game at certain points due to the game moving too fast if you have a 144 hz monitor. Until this is fixed I do not recommend

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly fun and enjoyable, more so than the original. The sequel uses gadgets extensively - unlike the first game in which they were basically an afterthought (outside of the teleporters DLC). This creates much more diverse and interesting gameplay. Coupled with much more relaxed time limit for S ranks (except chapter 1 for some reason) it made 100%'ing this game a lot more enjoyable too. I should also note that thanks for one particular mad programmer it is now possible to host a local…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and fun platform game. Little bit difficult on places because it is very fast game but still much fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A word before the review - I haven't played the first installment so I cannot compare any improvements or additions this game has over the original entry. I will also mention that, unlike some other players, I had no technical issues running the game although it's something to keep an eye out for. TL;DR A stealth-focused puzzle-platformer combining a well crafted set of puzzles with an overworld connecting them and a simple overarching story keeping it all tied together. A number of technical,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game, make no mistake, but the performances for the PC version are terrible. Where should I start? Well first, you can't launch the game without installing OpenAL first. Fortunately, the installer is already in the game files, but this is an odd step that you have to make in order to play, I guess OpenAL can't work rawly in the game files without being installed in Program Files (x86) first. After that, it actually works........... Like ♥♥♥♥. If you think you can play in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played the first game in the series I enjoyed Stealth Inc 2. For the price you're getting a good amount of content. The gameplay is similar to the previous game except there is the addition of fun trinkets that give you abilities. These abilities can be used to further explore the overworld which is another feature to my liking. It's like a game in a game, not only are you solving chambers, but you're traversing the overworld going through its own obstacles and puzzles. One thing I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always felt tying game mechanics to framerate was lazy/outdated programming technique, but the icing on the cake in this case is that the game doesn't offer any options to cap framerate for you! I've seen plenty of games offer multiple refresh rates; please don't make me go into nVidia control panel and force a 60hz cap in order to be able to play your game at a reasonable speed.

It's not terrible, but there are far better 2D puzzle platformers out there (Ori and the Blind Forest, Gris, Little Nightmares, INSIDE, Animal Well). The puzzles are mostly trial-and-error, the soundtrack is unremarkable, and the artstyle is meh. Technical info: There is no Steam Cloud support. The game speed is tied to the framerate, so make sure to limit your monitor to 60 Hz or otherwise cap your fps. The server for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's unplayable. Game is way too fast. Previous comment says its because game speed is tied to refresh rate, where high spec make the game too fast and low specs make the game too slow. So weird. What possible reason would there be to build things that way?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this platform puzzle gameplay. I started on the keyboard and quickly realized using a controller would be much easier. Good mix of easy and difficult puzzles as the game progressively gets harder. My only annoyance is some levels you have to do a lot of waiting and re-trying to get the timing right. The jumping and throwing together was difficult at times. Not sure if that is mechanics of game or limitation of the controller setup i used.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent gameplay and puzzle solving . some puzzles do need some redo.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Real good platformer for people that enjoy being shot by lasers or even being cut into pieces by a huge saw blades. Whatever, the devs made a great game with a lot of variety. From levels to other zones around the PTI industries, it is an actual great game that people need to try. Ok so there is also real small negative points that the game haves. Well the editor system is not really great compared to the first one’s editor. The background tiles are limited, and it sometimes bugs. So that’s…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stealth Inc 2 is a classic puzzle platformer. It is really fun to play and the dark high-tech labor, from which you need to escape, is really well done. The story is fine, but nothing extraordinary. The graphics are nice. The gameplay is simple, as well as it is fun. Jump from level to level, solve the puzzles (which will get harder) and learn new mechanics/gadgets. Definitely a solid game. The price is absolutely adequate.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this game. Because a repetitive and unnecessary long game. I was having fun at the beginning. But then it became boring to pass the episodes. And also as the game progresses, the controls getting worse. This game definitely doesn't deserve this money. I am glad that I got it for free. I recommend you spend your money on other games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every puzzle feels the same and it just gets boring fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't load properly. More of the same if you've played the first game, in other words, garbage.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall = 6/10 A cheap, cheerful and relatively basic looking stealth puzzle platformer. There’s no voice acting, the cut scenes are static and the enemies are uninspired, but it’s all animated well in game, even if the levels are a bit too similar looking. The “evil corporation” style and twisted sense of humour is used to good effects, but there’s nothing original about it and nothing really stands out. It starts off basic but eventually gets more complex, interesting and difficult.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another very underrated game. One of those games that only a few can dive into and understand how awesome it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 NOTES: The tags for this game are not accurate. This is a Puzzle platformer with a very large metroidvania style overworld connecting the levels. Not action, adventure, or stealth. Unless you consider abes odyssey those things. You'll notice that most of the negative comments on this game are regarding the frame rate / game…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →aweful and unresponsive controls game speed tied to framerate
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great puzzle platfoemer, fun and challenging. The only thing that they changed is a semi open world and that is uneccesary in my opinion. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sequel to Stealth Bastard doesn't work properly if you have a 4K monitor (increasingly common) and set display scaling. Only the top left hand corner of screen is rendered, filling the entire screen. Because this renders the UI unusable and 3/4 of the screen unviewable, I can't recommend this. Game developers: If you can't afford a 4K monitor to test your games, now is the time to exit the industry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of the tests are ok, but a lot just seem to be stupid rage game "challenges". AKA trial and error.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones, developed by Carbon and published by Curve Games, is a masterfully crafted blend of puzzle-platforming and stealth that transforms its simple concept into something much more intricate and rewarding. Set within the cold and claustrophobic halls of a massive cloning facility, the game puts you in control of one of countless identical test subjects trying to escape an endless cycle of experimentation. Beneath its dark humor and cartoonish art style lies a tightly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea is nice, but the execution is botched. This is not a stealth game, it's just a puzzle game with unwieldy mechanics that will get you killed constantly with its ever increasing jank.
