60 of 188 · most liked firstI've owned this game for a while now. It's a mixed bag for me. Mainly because of the developer. The game itself is fun. I haven't had many of the issues that others have had with game bugs and performance. My opinion, the game is not bad. They have fixed a ton of bugs, but from what others state, more bugs could be taken care of. This game is well known in the gaming community for being buggy and at times unplayable. This is kind of why I don't respect the developer. My personal beef with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This developer just released a post stating they are abandoning the game. The game although a bit fun is full of ground breaking bugs that severely impact your save. Ie: Require restarting. A few examples are breaking stoves that cannot be fixed, dishwashers that just consume dishes, pathing issues where npcs get stuck, and we can go on. That said the dev stated due to "game engine" limitations they can't fix these issues. The fact they released multiple dlcs hid the fact they weren't fixing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scam product that has been abandoned by the devs, and this should not be allowed on Steam. I waited for years to get bugs fixed before I would play through it for real, only to find them making this statement: "Despite our best efforts, some bugs have proven resistant to our attempts to rectify them, and we understand that this may not have lived up to some players' expectations. We want you to know that we've given it our all." "...we've made the difficult decision to halt further development…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game. Unfortunately mine is bugged and I can no longer get anyone to wash dishes. I like that I can have a cat, but I hate that all the pictures in the decoration tab are of sexy naked women. I'm docking it because it's bugged and I can't play it. I'm also docking it because there are no photos of naked sexy men in the decor. If I can play again and you give me the equality myself and every other gaming woman deserves, I'll give you a heckin thumbs up! Edit: Just got to the revenge…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its still buggy, unfinished, unpolished and left for dead after they sacked the previous development team for being incompetent. They outsourced even the base engine, that was just a buggy mess of spaghetti code and broke despite updates. Publisher then threw out their "revised engine" which barely changed anything from early access. Not to mention during their early access development cycle, they tossed in DLC that not only broke the game, but added content without even finishing the base…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Waited for them to fix bugs before playing again (waited over 2 years)... only to hear that they've abandoned this after taking my money... do not support this company
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs gave up on this game. Don't spend your money here
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main idea of this game is good and it could have been a good game IF it was completed. Unfortunately the developers just abandoned it without finishing it in a state full of bugs and issues that are borderline gamebreaking and can even cause the main campaign to get stuck at some places. Stay away from it unless you wish to waste your money on an unfinished game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. There's none quite like it as the graphics are good. Not cartoony or pixelart. BUT...the game's a mess. It cannot be played this way, and, since the devs have abandoned it, obviously unable to fix the issues, it will never be playable. You can get through the first phase with no problems, but once your initial inn burns down and you need to create a new one, the game will crash, freeze and do other kinds of nonsense. A great game, abandoned because of bad, unfixable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well they started working on crossroads Inn 2...when they didn't even finish crossroads Inn! Yea stay away, far away from this developer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →25 dollars and the devs abandoned it in an absolute broken state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dev has dropped this game in an unplayable state. Has been in EA since 2020. Now announce Crossroads 2? Cash grab. If you cannot fix your first game (kick starter, EA, Season Pass, Anniversary Edition) Then give us our money back or give us Cross Roads 2 for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game not finished, absolutely full of bugs. I do not recommend buying. "Crossroads Inn 2" is on the making, I do not recommend buying that one either, at least until it is finished, or acceptably playable. Early access on this game was a scam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs that have been in the game for 3 years are not going to be fixed, Klabater? Alright, Crossroads Inn 2 will not be bought from me. Thanks for making it an easy choice.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"We've made the difficult decision to halt further development of Crossroads Inn"
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had hopes this game would get back on its feets, but then the devs gave up. I cannot recommend buying this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is SCAM. Devs had collected money, made promises .... and have announced a new game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dev abandoned this. Threw it out too early before it was even a game, wasted resources making some stupid boardgame not a single person in the multiverse asked for or wanted, and then abandoned it. Disgusting
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs abandoned the game. They chose to leave behind a buggy, unfinished game that fans had given so much grace and leeway to, because fans believed in the concept. But the devs took the early access money and moved on, leaving this game unplayable. This will never be fixed, and never be the game we were promised. Don't give them your money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bummer they abandoned this - the core game play is amusing the story is good. But the gameplay is super buggy to the point of destroying saves. Can't really recommend it as is. I guess they're making a sequel? I'll play it if they can prove its polished enough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some edits, there are some additions. 1. The developer has abandoned the game. **added 24th May 2023: The developer has blamed game engine limitations and has essentially wiped their hands off the game. Basically, no more involvement with the game** 2. The abandoned game *STILL* has a lot of very basic game breaking bugs. Example: 2a. The game is bugged, so you try to reload the scenario. The scenario itself (after reloaded is bugged). No fixes from the dev. **added 24th May 2023:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont buy. Super buggy and devs gave up trying to fix stuff.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer abandoned this game with massive active bugs because they weren't good enough programmers to fix them. This sounds like I'm joking or being internet-mad, but the last major update (https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/867290/view/3689054062171831624?l=english) genuinely says "sorry, the engine is too crappy to fix any more." This is nonsense, for what it is worth. There are basic pathing and utilization issues, the sorts of bugs in this game were mostly solved problems back…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unbelievable amount of bugs completely destroying the game play. Now it has been abandoned by devs who are about to launch Crossroads Inn 2 as a brand new game. Terrible. I will pay attention to not buy any more games made by them, they are not serious about what they are doing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much potential but abandoned by dev
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a great idea with so much potential simply wasted. If you're desperate for for this kind of sim go ahead but you'll rapidly find a myriad of game breaking bugs. The developer has given up on the game after years of cash-grabbing his way through updates and has announced he'll no longer be working the game. Skip this one or be prepared to just be eternally disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a janky mess of a game, lots of bugs, but most have work arounds plus many 'bugs' are due to poor or no in game feedback (like employee skill and levels). Avoid the scenarios, play in sandbox. If a character gets stuck use the hand to move them. It's the best tavern simulator out there, and yes it's my opinion, and yes I've tried all the latest ones. This one is fun and has character, the others are boring management sims with tavern graphics pasted on top. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Characters get stuck between objects and walls. - Employees won’t properly serve, clean etc… Despite their priorities, servants will repeatedly clean the same spot. Sometimes a few of them will clean the same spot at the same time. - Some quests (campaign) won’t trigger their next stages correctly. “Local food” (sandbox quest) is broken. - Beds or random spots go “Zzz” as if they were sleeping. You can’t sell or remove those beds. - Texts can get stuck on screen long after a character…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was pretty excited for this game, and can get some enjoyment out of it - but it isn't finished. It's one of those abandoned games it appears, unfortunately. Buy it on Sale, if you want something like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got the game in early access and it had a lot of promise. Sadly the developer left it a buggy mess and is working on a second version. I have no confidence they wont also leave crossroads inn 2 a buggy mess just like this game. So much promise wasted. Do not buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is broken broken broken broken. MAJOR BUGS THAT STILL HAVEN'T BEEN FIXED!!! Example your employees will stop washing dishes (bug), no dishes no food or drink server, no food or drink served no money, no money cant pay anyone buy food etc, But by all means waste money and find out for yourself..... i give a 2/10....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a waste. The tutorial is useless. After the initial part, I was supposed to purchase goods and make some dishes, but all my people did was walk around, shuffle goods from shelf to shelf and pretend to cook but nothing ever got served. EVER. People just sat around and waited for food and drinks that never came.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy game that has been abandoned :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's an undoubtedly fun game to play, it's sadly quite unplayable. The amount of bugs I could find a workaround about were overwhelmed by a single bug I couldn't, and it ruined the experience. Staff at some point starts locking on a task they can't complete (for an unknown reason), and stop doing other tasks entirely. So, the inn is dirty; patrons outraged; hired bards, vedettas and co are just constantly unhappy. I have an army of staff to take care of everything, yet nothing works. On…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This could have been an awesome game. This game is so buggy that even if I try my best to ignore them, it only rewards me with nothing but frustration. I'm not sure whether the developer cares absolutely nothing about the gaming experience of the people who pay to play their games or they are simply incompetent. Either way I will avoid buying any more games from them due to the bad experience I have with Crossroads Inn.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is hard for me because I absolutely love this game. I think the game play is great albeit not the most balanced but still very fun to me. I cannot recommend because the developers stopped caring quite a while ago now. Things I loved about the game: - Map and having to get recipes/items - Having to stock up on ingredients - Those ingredients took real space in the storage and were visible. - Multiple levels to the INN - Time it took from ordering to receiving the item - Art style and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full of bugs and UI is complicated. Play Tavern Master instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is literally the worst game from the worst dev company ever. After playing games for over 30 years that's saying someathing. Stay clear of these people. They will take your money, release an unplayable, completely broken and buggy product and ban you from discussions if you don't like it. No refunds. Pure scam. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonned and buggy. Wait for Crossroads Inn 2, don't buy this Alpha never finished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonned buggy mess, stay away. Go get other tavern simulator games that run better than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game abandoned by the developer after taking our money and leaving the game unfinished. Will never purchase from this developer again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →launched with bugs, patched to contain more bugs. And now abandoned. Do not buy and be wary of the developer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be a nice game, but bugs prevent it from being enjoyable or even working at all (e.g. you need to grow potatoes to progress in the storyline, but the growing-provcess runs through empty -> no potatoes, no progressing in the campaign). Another gamekiller would be, that workers just don't do their thing. I have a ton of needed goods, that I ordered, outside my Inn the Inn runs out of those resources (e.g. Candles or Firewood) and 5 of my hired workers just stand at the back, outside the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of recently this game is now dead in the water with so many bugs still present While there are other games that have been taken down for worse reasons at least some of those had the actual effort put into tying loose ends. Hopefully these recent negative reviews, gets heard and the developers polish it one final time or let the modders handle it from here on out. Story was great-ish though. Until then this game is not recommended anymore. P.S: Rest in pieces to all the mugs and plates…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great, when it plays. The second you go into build mode, it crashes. No refunds available. Unfinished and abandoned, which is sad, it would be great otherwise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2025 and this game is a mess. Unbalanced, some sorta rodent attacks the barrels and then you cant access them, staff walks too the edge of the screen and stand there indefinitly, you fire them and they just keep standing there leeching your money. Characters go on missions and dont come back. Buy plates and mugs, never too arrive. Its a dumpster fire of a game, dont buy...and its a shame because it had so much potential...apparently theyre coming out with Crossroads Inn 2 and to be honest I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have spent plenty of time playing this game. Each time I hit a game breaking bug. In sandbox mode, no visitors come to eat at my inn. In campaign, the disfavored class comes in so rarely that I cannot beat the courier quest. I hope they revisit this game and fix those bugs, but that won't happen because the final update has already been stated. Otherwise, the game is very fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned game by a crooked developer that cheated initial investors with DLC that was then included in the main game. Do not buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea destroyed by bugs and money-grubbing dev cycle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It isn't a terrible game at all, but there are some fatal bugs that sneak up on you and there's no way to prepare for them. I'm running Ubuntu, so you might have better luck with your system. It's really too bad, since the game is fun! You can build a little tavern, get involved in regional trade patterns, and complete fun quests. You've got to manage your staff and inventory, make sure you're doing good marketing, and so on... Until one day you click the wrong series of buttons and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a lot of Bugs with the quests :/ cant continue the campaign....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very bugged when it comes to mugs and staff...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is not playable, pets items gets bugy, beds gets bugy, and the worst, dishwashes get bugy and you are not able to empty it. pain in the ax.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned and buggy to the point of barely playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you heard about No Man's Sky? Now imagine if the Dev decided to stop and abandoned the game in the broken state instead of fixing it. 10/10 would scam again The second one is in production when I'm writing this review, funny how a sequel launch because of this. Please don't buy it, or instead wait until the game is working as intended, or else the dev would just abandoned it again and create Crossroads Inn 3.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be aware that this game never made it out of beta. Also know that development has stopped. Errors you get, objects that don't work right, missing resources, workers you have to pick up and move because they can't path, those will never get better. Still, I have about 100 hours messing around with it and another 126 hours letting it sit minimized in a tray. I just won't buy a beta game from the developer again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs, bugs and more bugs Never getting squashed, game is abandoned with a piss poor apology "We did our best". stay away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game bugs still after update. Making it hard to enjoy or progress
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this a while back and it looked promising. Took a break. Look really great and would give it positive review but... Few years later... I start it back up and noticed the buggy mess right when it loads up. the purple checkerboard errors throughout the map, that weren't there before. Look at review and noticed the common theme was a buggy mess. I won't recommend buying this or the spin off until its addressed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I enjoyed this game, the way the developer has essentially abandoned it as a buggy mess and stated they won't fix it makes me feel that I can't recommend it and will likely not buy another game from them.
