Company of Heroes 2 is a real-time strategy video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sega for Windows, Linux, and OS X. It is the sequel to the 2006 game Company of Heroes. It's a really fun game, brought down by being one of the most shameless nickel&dime simulators I've ever played. -Open the campaign mode: there are two campaigns, but you have to buy the second one, -if you buy the second campaign and then go to skirmish, you find out the units from it are sold for skirmish separately, -if you buy all the skirmish units too, and then go to the Theather Of War mode, you find out all 4 campaigns there are available, even letting…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good World War II strategy game and the publisher is probably one of the worst, greedy gaming company. From what I have seen, they ruined the CoH series and CoH3 is worst than CoH2. The monetisation in this game is absurd. Buying singleplayer bundle isn't enough to play the campaign. To unlock all companies you have to buy all the DLCs. Last year they literally created a DLC inside a DLC and try to market it by freeing the main game. So in order to play "Ardennes Assault" campaign in hard…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is solid, but it's ruined by the countless meaningless DLCs. The interesting Commanders were locked behind a PAYWALL and there's more that 20 of them (Buying all of them cost a lot more than the base game). The allied factions were locked behind a paywall and separated, AND two of them DOES NOT have any SP missions at all. Will not buy anymore COH games if it was like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →👍 RECOMMENDED: CoH3 Proves How Masterful This Game Is I am leaving this thumbs-up review for one simple reason: They finally nailed the coffin on Company of Heroes 3. Playing the new, unpolished, knock-off mobile feeling like game just made me realize how much they got right in this one. Real War, Not Cartoons: CoH2 actually looks gritty and realistic. Great Voice Acting: No cringe lines, no weird accents, and units actually warn you when they are taking fire. Better Gameplay: The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-spend 4 hours learning the game against bots - get confident enough for a multiplayer match - gets SLAMMED SO HARD -the guy friends me and asks if im okay because he thinks im having a stroke with the way im playing. - go back to bots :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you were a big fan of COH1 you will find this game overwhelming and chaotic to an unhinged degree. I feel like I would need to down 3 redbulls and snort a line of cocaine to be able to play this game. Actions per minute is now more consequential than everything else. Tactics, strategy, personal doctrine of how you play RTS games or how you counter other doctrines, all inferior to just being able to do more actions per minute. A tactical and strategic genius could easily be outplayed in COH2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TRUTH IS HARSH AND MUST BE SPOKEN This game used to be amazing, and you absolutely destroyed it. Every update feels like you’re intentionally removing the strategic depth that made Company of Heroes what it was. Limiting players to one heavy tank is ridiculous. Removing fast deployment of medium and light tanks through command points is even worse. Now everything has to be dragged out of HQ, making the gameplay slow, boring, and completely stripped of tactical freedom. I came back to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game. Locking parts of the game behind paywalls for no reason is scummy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →118) Company of Heroes 2. Relic have this odd habit of having the second game be excellent and the third game be very disappointing. This had a shaky launch but eventually developed into a great skirmish level WW2 RTS, reaching its peak with the stand-alone DLC Ardennes Assault.
unlabelledView post →i remember this game like i remember being a teenager: happier.... full of life.... flame clown cars.... random OP elite troop blobs that suffer no MG suppression.... i miss it all....you never know what you have until it's gone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still one of my favorite RTS games because positioning and using cover actually matter. Every battle feels rewarding when a good strategy comes together, and matches rarely play out the same way twice. It's an older game now, but it's still easy to come back to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way better than 3 in both gameplay and balance approach
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →> be me > buy CoH2 "for history" > join Soviet Union > infantry starts yelling like rent is due > learns Molotovs delete buildings AND friendships > discovers accuracy is optional, suffering is not > loses entire army to one MG42 > wins anyway because morale is a suggestion 10/10 Came for strategy, stayed because my units scream louder than my neighbors.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply put.....The Original Company of Heroes was 5X better. Easier to navigate, more intuitive, and better function.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best RTS games ever made. The gameplay is cinematic and the mechanics are unmatched.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“It’s just an RTS,” I said. Five minutes later my entire army froze to death because I didn’t build a campfire. Tanks get stuck, soldiers scream in the snow, and you start questioning every tactical decision you’ve ever made. Victory feels earned — defeat feels personal. + Intense combat, realistic terrain and weather effects – Watching a Tiger tank die to a single mine feels like losing a child
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let my hours fool you, years ago, I put a solid 800 hours into this game in internet cafes at one time. Ultimately, it remains the absolute gold standard of WW2 RTS games. After some brief, recent adventures with the Call to Arms series, I was reminded just how much I hate the super-realistic, punishing and often, extremely poorly coded and lifeless milsim RTS genre. Relic Entertainment, meanwhile, are experts at making an RTS game fun, retaining style, as well as clear visual fidelity…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the release of CoH 3, Company of Heroes 2 remains a masterpiece that stands the test of time. The tactical depth and intense gameplay are still unmatched. Even in 2026, the visuals hold up beautifully, and the immersive sound design perfectly captures the chaos of WWII. It’s a classic that I keep coming back to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game at all !! I don't recommend it to anyone because it's one of the most addictive and realistic games ever built. You can't count on how much time you're in game and each mod has its own attractiveness. However, if you're a nerd historical genre gamer, I recommend you that never miss it. Hope you enjoy. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly Company of Heroes 1 was great game - a master piece. CoH2 is a poor substitute, honestly half the time your units don't do what you want them to. You can't turn in place, you have to do a large circle now with vehicles - the ai seems to always hit you in the rear. Some maps are great, others are so poorly scripted (as soon you start winning the enemy gets free tanks - you can see it on the graph). I don't know if player vs player the game is more balanced. But the AI in most maps…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing against Expert AI: Why is it that when I flash somebody, it’s like I just slapped them in the face with a napkin from a little kid's birthday party? But when I get flashed, it’s like some big brollic guy named REQUIS pulls a bedsheet up and around my head and just proceeds to skull****! me. Anyway its pretty fun Recommend to new players
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun WW2 RTS. Complex with a high skill curve. Satisfying to learn and get better as you play. Every team (USA, Russia, Germany, etc.) plays differently and has a a counter for light, med, and heavy armor units.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs perfectly on Bazzite as of June 2026. It's also a great RTS, better than the first and third CoH games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad ratings kept me away from this game. The reviews told me that CoH 1 is better. FALSE. This is the one. 2x better. Ill have to try CoH 3 some day too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was expecting an RTS, but it’s basically 70% arcade game. It’s a good game, pretty faithful to the source material. It’s a lot of fun to play with friends in multiplayer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game took a dear friend of mine...for him, nothing else exists anymore but this game....it must be a really great game...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was the game director on Company of Heroes 2 at the time and thought it was nice that they sent me scripts and the first few dailies from shooting in Bulgaria, and then I gave them feedback, and they stopped sending me stuff. God, so bad. Please burn this whole post and never mention it again.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 7 years of owning the game, i finally took it on. Completely regret not enjoying it back then.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game breaking bugs still present and unpatched 13 years later
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started with Company of Heroes 3 and then moved to Company of Heroes 2. While I think CoH3 is a good game, I ended up preferring CoH2. The pacing feels better, the battles are more intense, and the visual and audio effects make the combat feel much more immersive. Even after all these years, it still feels like the stronger game to me. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's garbage. Everthing is locked behind dlc and micro transactions. Even if I would consider buying it.. wich I am not!! I would be put off to buy 50 or more products.. like tanks, while you don't even know if you want them or not.. ps. the 2 missions I got is a rip off too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not for me, but some friends love it, so maybe give it an oportunity if it's on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want a game that plays like Dawn of War 2 / Company of Heroes 2 mixed with They Are Billions or Age of Darkness: Last Stand with the option to play together with a friend. One of my dream RTS game ideas that wouldn't be popular at all. The first design goal is diagonal gates, lol

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute masterpiece! if you want to buy coh 3 just buy this, or stick with this, in every aspect this is the superior game, sound effects and the visuals are beatiful, the campaign is challenging and story is really engaging, the multiplayer nowadays are kinda hit or miss, you are either getting hardcore veterans who reck your ♥♥♥♥ in 12 min and gg or you get those ho quit after 1-2 bad engagmentand you left playing the agianst the ai, but if you get lucky you can get normal matches but as a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4 expert AI vs 4 humans great way to waste 1-2 hours of your life and get destroyed by the unending flood of soviet conscripts dont play public MP unless you want to see very strange decals and faceplates (enjoy clearing out ur mods folder after so u dont get raided by a 3 letter agency)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played game long time. Is good. My good friend Gort Morlash also plays this with me and he told me write that he said "game verry good, verry nice"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Improves upon everything that made Coh1 great but also has divisive choices like commanders...a bit microtransaction heavy...the physics got upgraded, with tanks being able to fall into ice... It's a fun game, kinda a unique RTS experience...you manage squads and tanks instead of building a city...need to find cover for your rifleman etcetc... definitely buy, on sale especially... better then Coh3 in my opinion as well...sound design and everything... At this point is kinda old so it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually really like this game but not having an option to rebind keys in an RTS game is insane
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game especially with community mods. In 2026 still superior to its successor COH3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is one of the best strategic games i played but its not so realistic as i thought but i recommend to waste ur time by it and play it with ur friends fun fact i am always a noob in this game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is the equivalent of a relationship with a girl with bpd or shooting up black tar heroin, it's horrible, stresses you out, and you KNOW it's wrong and bad for you but you can't stop doing it. also how the ♥♥♥♥ were they doing lootboxes in 2013
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took a while before trying it out. Overall, decent game. It got years to reach it's peak and the mods definitely made it 10x better. HOWEVER, the GATEKEEPING of USF, OKW and British Force behind DLCs at almost THE FULL PRICE OF BASE GAME? It's Relic lowest of the low and their downfall to what is now COH3. I can manage the multitude of microtransactions(avoidable, thankfully without softblocking gameplay). Get the DLCs DURING SALES, any OTHER TIME, it is NOT WORTH IT.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game, to addicting. In all serious this is a fantastic game with many accuracies to WW2 and good for the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the multiplayer World War 2 RTS game where I spend the most hours on a video game ever on steam which I dedicated the most hours too. I had a lot of fun on this title from way back every army including the DLC felt right as well as with custom mods and experiences. I remember I made a lot of friends on this title and also was in a clan too and we did battles and multiplayer matches. I highly recommend Company Of Heroes 2 for its single player and multiplayer experience where I spend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A one of a kind strategy game. Playing this in multiplayer with my friends brought some of the most fun, nerve wracking and blood rushing moments of my gaming life. It's a timeless classic and the best way to experience World War 2 in an RTS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better than COH 1 and in my opinion better than COH 3. In 3 one can customise better but graphics much better with 2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my most played game ever at more than 500h, so i do not know why i have why I have not written a review before, but know I have after 7 years of owning it :D. I havent played the game for almost 1,5 years, so it will be really intresting to see how it fares, in 2026. I really recommend playing the game, it could a nice start in the franchise. I have heard about some cheaters in recent days. I hope that it will not be a problem for me and my brother. Have a nice time and thank you for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This RTS is the very best of all, when It comes to WWII why ? Because it's the most playful and fun. My father's, WWII enthusiast, who his whole life accommodated biographical books of that genre, and man who played Sudden Strike games a lot, ant this one a lot to. Would love how UBOAT simutator got achivments. https://store.steampowered.com/app/494840/UBOAT/ But what is needed I think to change is the fact that : -"Romani Ite Domum" is adefunct achievement in Company of Heroes 2 that was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game, I love the cover and suppression mechanics. Feels good to play, only complaint I can think of since last time playing was wishing for a higher camera angle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I realized that this game is much better in most aspects after playing the newest COH3; Singleplayer - the storyline is all right, you're getting a certain vibe from it. It's worth playing at least once. And don't listen to commies compaining about its authenticity. It's much better and more interestin than COH3 and ofc it's not even close to COH1. I'd say Theater of War mode is great, even though some of the missions are bugged and unbalanced which makes it unreal to complete without someone…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →People seem to like the multiplayer., but the campaign AI ignores fog of war. Don't buy it for the campaign.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An immense RTS with a truly gigantic amount of content. There is a huge amount of strategy involved, with plenty of possibilities. The game is particularly enjoyable when played with a friend. A massive experience that can easily provide hundreds of hours of gameplay ( with DLC ). 100% steam achievements ( 2 impossible ) Time : 526.7H Completion Difficulty : 10/10 Playthroughs : Multiple Missables : None Online Requirements : Yes Notable requirements : Complete the campaign and all scenario…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the player base is somehow even more toxic then LOL, the useless ass matchmaker forces you to wait 10 and above minutes only to give you outright braindead morons, 0/10 ive come to truly regret buying this pos, literally wanted to play 1 game after work and all ive done is waste 40 minutes of my life because of AFK trash and outright idiots......yeah 40 hours later still stands
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a huge fan of CoH, since the beta release of good old COHO. I played a lot, when I was younger. I bought CoH2 long time ago and couldn't play it, because my system was too slow. Now, after more than 8 years, I download it on my new PC, and I see something very uncool - I have to buy additional DLCs, so I could play as US or UK forces on Skirmish game... Feels like somebody, who made this happen, really hates all the gaming industry and his employer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the first two missions. The combat is intense, but it makes me wonder about the historical accuracy. While the Red Army did suffer horrific losses, the game seems to lean heavily into the 'meat shield' and 'Order 227' tropes. I’m curious if the real history was this chaotic, or if it's just for dramatic effect.
