60 of 85 · most liked firstI tried to get engaged in this game but couldn't. I bought this game based on comments that said it was like Banished, and Steam saying it was similar to Banished and Civ Marble Age. From my perspective it was more like Stardew Valley, which is a well-loved, highly rated game, but not one I enjoyed. When I play Banished, I like to take long pauses, sit back with my cup of coffee with the game on pause while I lay out my buildings, scroll around the map to see where I want to put my trading…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the moment, this is a less-fun version of RimWorld. The characters have zero personality, no traits, no genes to pass on to children. In fairness, it is an early access game, but it is not shaping up to be anything spectacular. Perhaps I am being unfair, as I was really hoping this would just be "medieval" RimWorld. As it is, this has just made me want to boot up RimWorld or Prison Architect. I have refunded my purchase, but I'll still follow the production and see if it shapes up to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very interested in the game, but after nearly 2 hours, the flaws and shortcomings of the game became instantly apparent. There is very little content, the gathering and building mechanics need more work, and the food system is not balanced yet. Let me explain: Your only source of food at the beginning are berries, which spoil very quickly. If you cannot build fast enough, auutum comes, the berries are gone. But there is wildlife right? You build a hunters lodge, the hunter misses all the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Civitatem A peaceful city builder with a medieval twist, Civitatem gets rid of the complexities of your usual strategy city management titles and focuses on the core of expansion and villager simulation. With a cute visual style and a relaxing learning curve that eases you into the sprawling construction of vast communities and the many problems that can come with it. From starvation, to bandits, to natural disasters, building and maintaining a strong willed community has never been as easy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been following this game for a few months and played it throughout its development stages as an early-adopter. Therefore Steam hours are not relevant, but I've accrued several dozen hours through various builds of the game. It's really quite a great game if you're into colony management sims. It follows the classical Rimworld formula for villager management, where you can assign your villager tasks/jobs, tend to their needs and health and make decisions based on the good of the village.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed concept of the game, I was doing good till credits ran on my screen. The game finishes when you reach 30 people in your town. Needs improvement
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only buy this if you want to support its development. I really love these kinds of games but I really think this isn't polished enough for anyone to buy just yet. For instance, say you accidentally placed a road somewhere and want to delete it? You can't. Say you want a miner to work on iron instead of stone. You can't, unless you remove all the 'work stone' selections on the map. It needs a lot of polishing. I know, i know, early access isn't going to be completely playable yet, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried, didn't like it. It ran fine, no bugs or issues encountered. Even though I'm not giving it a recommendation, if you like city builder games give it a whirl. Your mileage may vary.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice city builder. I followed it for a while and its getting better with each update. Waiting for more content!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind a very basic village game, Several games can outdo this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's be honest here the game copy's Rimworld A LOT, but it's not the worst thing I'm down to play games like this, but there is a major problem, where is ORIGINAL IDEA?? There is nothing it has very little content and it's all just basics of any game a house, a farm.... lacks depth of anything there is no real reason to buy this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game lacks general tutorials, and the fact that it only goes to 'double' speed makes this game feel so slow. I realize its early access, but I personally wouldnt recommend it yet. It seems to have potential with unique buildings and unique 'jobs' etc etc. I'll just watch it on youtube for now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Guild of Armorer Privateers is a turn-based tactical game where the player controls a platoon of remote controlled tanks against AI mechs in urban battles... You can see why its motto is "CUSTODIMUS CIVITATEM A DIVANI" meaning "Saving the city from the sofa" #gamedev #indiedev #turnbased
unlabelledView post →quite a short game, the buying and selling is confusing, minimal control over your people and what they can equip, train etc, in fact i couldn't get them to use the barracks at all?? was hoping there would be more to do but yea. Alright for the roughly a fiver i paid but not much bang for buck.

Be sure to "FOLLOW" for more of my recommendations: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31339849-Minorthreatt-Gaming-Reviews/?appid=257170 The Short of it: This is a great little medieval city builder/survival game, reminds me of Banished mixed with Rimworld. Has a ways to go in development, but if the updates keep coming, this will be a real winner. Reminds me of:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like "god games" are my addiction; I am always looking for the perfect one. This game probably won't be it but with more work, I can see myself playing it alot. I am about to play again and start over; hopefully I will have the right plan to make it through the winter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Civitatem, a medieval Survival-City-Builder similar to Banished but in the Style of beloved Games like Prison Architect and RimWorld. Sounds like something right up my alley. I'm one of the Early Adopters, so i was able to experience the game from the very first Pre-Alpha-Build as well as the communication through Discord between the Developer and the Players. And this is my impression so far: -------------------------------------------------------- At this point i would like to mention that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Early Access Title! I backed a while ago and I have to say I am impressed with the alpha before Steam and the roadmap from the developer sounds GREAT! This is totally my style of God/village/city builder that I love! Deffinatly inspired by Prison Architect and banished! Join up in discord! The dev will troll you, watch out! heheh Just kidding, he is a very nice and funny guy. https://discord.gg/7B7gyPM
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice idea with lots of promise but it's just not an engaging game at this stage. This game is so early access that it's more like a proof of concept than a playable/enjoyable game just yet. Lack of balance and a slow top speed leads to a slow frustrating grind of a game with little to offer from the story/characters (most of the events currently implemented just add to the frustration). Lots of potential though and with work on the depth of the game/characters and/or more production…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Considering it's early access, it's certainly a nifty game so far! There are a few games of a similar setting around, but Civitatem does manage to do right what others like it have problems with: It has a very intuitive and user friendly interface and controls. This makes it fun to figure things out without getting frustrating over things appearently not making sense. Although I first had to get used to just quick the seasons pass, that does make for a nice change and challenge. Even with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thirteen bucks--are you kidding me? This is sort of cute for a very bare-bones entry-level city builder sim, but it's like something that you could've played on Windows 3.1. I got this and several other games in a bundle for $4, and was already feeling like this didn't hold up its part of the price. The graphics are poor but not poor enough to be retro, it's missing basic QoL UI mechanics such as click-to-drag, it's slow even when you turn it to fast, and there's simply not enough going on to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game. The Dev(s) Is very responsive and knowing It's still an early access; It's very understandable. Hoping they'll update more In the future. I can't wait to see this game grow Into something good :) Overall - 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep up the great work lots of fun and a great Alpha! so much more to come Found this great summary on a youtube comment Buildings to build, each season has its challenges, from food, resources, and villagers needs, then comes random events, then if you succeed to survive first year, villagers will start having children, and you have to adapt to new demand, etc. There is 5-10 hours of challenging gameplay there, and that in Alpha 1, later comes exploration, trading, diplomacy, combat,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Civitatum is a fun and simple civilization builder. The job management system is easy to use. This game is easily playable on just a laptop's keyboard and track pad. This game is just as playable with no sound. Other notes: You can reach the end game with a vegan society... they will be cold though. None of your citizens get to be out of the closet. :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this free via lurkit, had a rimworld vibe to it so thought I would give it a try -In winter it is really hard to see the placement for buildings. -Ended up with just a salt mine being mined. Even when I added more options and changes priority to iron/stone, they continued to collect 66 bags of salt instead of anything else. -Unable to build where villagers are stood, should be able to build and they move out of the way, only then does the building start to be made -At one point the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, it's a cute game but it needs more content/variety/purpose. Also villagers periodically unassign themselves from jobs for some reason, it's quite tedious to micromanage them back into their jobs again. All in all, looks like it could be worth the price once it's a bit more developed - until then get it only if you wanna support the dev.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The "You have no reasearch..." pop up is annoying. Hunters are too damn stupids, even with the skill maxed out. Seasons are too short, and you cant forage in all of them. Not a bad game, but a lot to polish have to be made.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →an amazing game really enjoyable and worth the price and an amazing support service
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was super hyped for this game. the game is still in development so do expect to run by a few bugs here and there but the creator is so helpful and works extra hard to gather all the info and fix it as soon as possible that I don't really worry - I know this is a temporary problem and a matter of time before it will be ready. MY RATING : graphic 10/10 music and sound 10/10 gameplay - It would be helpful to have a working tutorial before you start playing... a̶l̶s̶o̶ f̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Civitatem feels to me like a mix of the classic builders features with games like Rimworld and Banished, but with its own identity. Quite fun so far. Beware of the seasons and random events :))
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this, and put in a lot of hours thinking it might get better, but unfortunately it just doesn't. There's no real progression, it's glitchy, the control system is not great, and the attack system is just poorly thought out. Maybe they'll update it again in future and I'll give it another shot, but right now there are much better versions of this concept.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun, cute game, and I think after about a dozen more updates I might like it... but not right now. Too much waiting and micromanaging, and not much else to engage with. I'll be coming back to this one, and I advise everyone to wait for the finished version unless what you're really looking for is the early access experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is okay, but needs some improvement and I expect the developer will patch them, since this is early access. Main few issues that frustrated me: 1) Nothing pissed me off more than my hunters getting stuck between my houses or going between them and walking around in circles for the whole year. I even tried reassigning them to something else and back to hunters and they go and do the same exact thing. Pathing is a huge issue and needs improvement. 2) Another super annoying issue is that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game seems to simple to me only a few buildings a few research option(why can't you make books in this game its rather stupid you gotta buy them.) one type of clothing. one type of tools no weapons/armor to make.no defences to make. Compare this game to some same catogorie games and you see it fall short by allot. Also there are still a few minor bugs/game designs choises( lack of info makes me not sure what it is.) giving some frustration, a bit more explanation about the micro management…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and not much game depth. Get Rimworld if you like such games!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily reccomendable for this ammount of gameplay vs price. To me it feels like a great mix of banished, rimworld and caesar3. The game is fun as it is right now - plus the dev promised to expand and improve upon this foundation. So I'm pretty happy with this early access purchase :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun littel game with flaws. You can clearly see it is early access but it is still fun but not worth the money for now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give you a yes but need more improvement more more and more............
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My thoughts on this game - it is easy to pick up and a perfect time killer. These little family was in trouble and had to be helped. I decide to work their asses off. They don't seem too complain much. First night comes and 5 of these misfortunate guys lie down near the fire. They seem dead, only one of them is moving and doing stuff. I am thinking that dude killed them!! WTF! That was his family, CSI Miami was all over me. Until I realized this game does not promote child labour, only the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game , i like the idea. does not have a lot of things to do. finished it in 3 hours. looking forward for more updates. note: I think it should be cheaper for what it has now. Similar game to RimWorld ( this one is deep, have a lot to do) https://store.steampowered.com/app/294100/RimWorld/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →...It's not good. I've come back to Civitatem 4 times since I bought it, hoping it would get better, or at least have some more content drops. It hasn't. It's nowhere near worth the low price, and feels like something I should be playing on my phone while waiting for my insomnia medication to kick in. Updates have been absolutely unnoticable, and other than running a surface level village, there's nothing else to do, other than build a library and a church (which are the only winning…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly a really good freaking game. Challenging but not too difficult. Hoping more updates come. Play almost every day. Don't sleep on this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its just a good concept, poorly executed. Not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rather nice and chill game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it so far! Hope it keeps some of the stuff simple but expands on other kingdoms and diplomacy of some kind.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice beginning for a medieval version of RimWorld. There are a few bugs but they don't prevent you from progressing in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun little game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love it, cant wait for more updates
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally got this for my win 7 but since now I even play this on win 10 has no issue. Likes/dislikes: Easy to play, village could expand rapidly depending which food source you put in spring. Barn & Stockpile are necessary objects to place in building to excel village forward/research too. I kind wish there upgrades to structures Dislikes: No horses and no book drops you have to trade with other villages some don't have it. Personal Opinion: I think if there upgrades like road decor,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun but simple.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! There are a couple bugs but they are updating very regularly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, fun casual game. For those who like RimWorld type games. Developer is pretty active on patches and updates compared to other games in this category. Definitely hoping for more buildings and maybe a auto delegate option for when you have 25+ villagers cause I had times when I didn't know what to do with the extra 3 villagers sitting idle. A quick menu tutorial/navigation for when you unlock trading might be a good idea as well. I am also looking forward as to what the combat will be like.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a lot of faith in this game seeing as it is early access. However, the most basic of problems is that i find the size of the text tiny! I have pretty good eyesight but please make it bigger! Apart from that the game lacks depth... it needs so much more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →how can you get a refund on the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting city builder mixed with survival elements. Each villager has its own skills that help complete jobs faster, or improve the chance of success. There is a decent ammount of buildings and variety, four seasons, random events and random maps. There are three difficulties, which behave quite diffrently and it can offer a lot of replayability and some nice challenges. Try Normal and then Survival. If it continues like this with the updates, it might become on my favorite indie games of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking forward to more updates too see more awesome stuff, Thumbs up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those just interested in gameplay: https://youtu.be/rTs1Fey3VYg Civitatem is similar to Banished, in that you are in charge of creating a medieval city that can not only maintain the people currently living in it, but the future of the city. It has adorable graphics similar to that of SimAirport. The game is still in Early Access, but the game seems enjoyable so far!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very disappointed with this game. The reviews did not live up to what I purchased. Been compared to Banished, which is far better. Asked for a refund after playing for 108 minutes. Happy to say refund was given.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →every time I play this game it gets glitched whenever the second raid starts. EVERY time. Then it will glitch the next time a raid happens. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
