It is an amazing game, the value is pretty level with what the game has to offer and, believe me, it will entertain you for quite some time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is still number one in terms of business finance. I still don't understand why Capitalism Lab is not on steam but it's a business decision I think :) I play on and off once every couple of months.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“If Capitalism was so awesome why don’t they make a Capitalism 2?” Well, about that store.steampowered.com/app/638200/C...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capitalism has always been one of my favorite aspects of life. So when I heard there was a sequel releasing in December 17th of 2001, my socks were knocked off in joy! And by golly, is this all a capitalism-loving capitalist could want! Business. Money. Oil. Bankruptcy. The sequel to capitalism is everything our founding fathers would have wanted.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but you shouldn't buy this. Buy Capitalism Lab instead which isn't available on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Capitalism 2 is like coding: i don't know why my business model works. And also I don't know why my business model doesn't work. p.s. I need a DLC that lets me blow billions on yachts and buy politicians and attend some private island parties.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capitalism II, developed by Enlight Software Limited and later reintroduced to modern PC storefronts through Retroism, is widely considered one of the deepest and most ambitious economic simulation games ever created. Originally released in 2001 as the sequel to the earlier business strategy title Capitalism, the game attempts to recreate the structure of a modern corporate economy with remarkable detail. Instead of simplifying business management into a few mechanics, the game embraces…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Updated Review: Capitalism 2: For Those Who Love Nostalgia Over Progress... Ah, Capitalism 2; a classic for those who prefer outdated simplicity over actual depth. I made the mistake of suggesting Capitalism Labs is a far superior, expanded version, and suddenly I’ve become the villain. But sure, keep pretending that trading CDs and managing a stock portfolio in a dated system is better than a game with dozens more features and way more content. But hey, if your idea of a great game is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was my favorite game for decades after it came out. Actually it probably is my favorite all time game. Yes it doesn't show I've played it much at this point on Steam, but, I had to buy it on steam because I give up trying to keep supplied with external optical drives in a world where they don't exactly make cd-rom/dvd-rom standard in all laptops these days. I have logged thousands of hours on Capitalism I and Capitalism II, Do I think there needs to be a Capitalism III? Yes, that would be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capitalism 2: My Business Adventure, Unleashed! Remember when you used to play with toy blocks and imagined running your own shop? Well, imagine that feeling but grown up! Capitalism 2 is my go-to simulation game where I became a mini-CEO. First, I chose my product line – it was like picking which toys to bring into my pretend store. The variety of over 60 options was so cool, I had to spend hours deciding which ones would really fly off the shelves! Next came managing my team. Hiring and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth the time or money. The interface is flashy and colorful, but very poorly implemented, even by 2001 standards. For example: an in-game pop-up that announces that you have X years left to complete your objectives prevents you from pausing the game until you close the pop-up. While that pop-up is open, there is no way to pause the game, nor to change its speed. On maximum speed, modern computers simulate one in-game year in a matter of seconds. The rapid progression of time creates more…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great classic that will teach you the fundamentals of business management, stock market, supply and demand for products. The steam version received some love on the product / player artwork which is nice to see considering how old the game is and if you are wanting a modern version of the game Capitalism Labs is the best way to go, although it is not on steam... The actual game itself: Game play: Great game play considering the titles age. Graphics: Not the best to look at if you prefer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no idea why this title gets praised so much. Sure it's a fun game from time to time, but to call it an accurate simulation? I can just mass produce beef at a loss at the start of the game to gain 100% market share and then just dominate. The AI competition has no chance to keep up with the player. I find this game too easy and with too many exploits to be considered a good simulation. But it is fun to play from time to time, so I still recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great simulation, however it will be boring as ♥♥♥♥ for someone who cannot understand real business fundamentals
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Balance is the biggest problem, if you don't count the terrible A/I. U/I is poor, but tolerable. Seems like this was rushed to release with inadequate QA and play testing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stonkly amazing!! I played it a lot before I had it on Steam
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game as a kid so perhaps some of my positive feelings are due to nostalgia. But honestly it's a really good business simulation for its time. The main gameplay loop involves 3 sectors: retail sector, manufacturing sector, and raw material sector (mining or farming). If you only retail it's kinda boring, just buy from decent suppliers, and set prices to balance demand and supply. But what makes this game is when you do vertical integration of the 3 sectors, which turns this game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun business simulation game. Takes a while to figure out the mechanics. Older game yes, but you won't find another game like this on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holds its age very well. I play it more as a stock trading/venture capital simulator personally but really you can do a lot its completely up to you. Another case of what you see is what you get. Would recommend to someone who grew up playing older games and has a certain itch for finance based games. Don't expect to get your socks blown off but this is genuinely good fun once in a while to load up and mess around in. I think there is third party dlc that expands the game as well but I did not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick warning Just get the game called CEO or get capitalism lab. Capitalism Lab is just an improved version of this game made by the same developers, but for some reason it's not on steam. You can get Lab on the developer's site. CEO is a more modern game which I haven't played yet. It is very, very similar to Capitalism 2/lab, having more modern graphics if that's what you yearn for and... well I haven't played CEO yet so that's all I know. I'm saving up to bail my dad (stop selling meth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game couldn't be called groundbreaking or even up to the standards of the time, considering what games were coming out at the time, with the right amount of attention from the publisher, it could have been turned into a highly successful, niche franchise. Now it’s simply unplayable.. Disgusting graphics, poor gameplay. There is absolutely no point in buying this part of the game, because you can pay extra and buy a more modern version of the game. If you like the type of gameplay…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not the fully featured game, that is only available on the website. Were the expansion purchasable here on steam my review would be a massive yes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is trash. If you want to play with a game from the 90's go for it. In my opinion, it's garbage (turned off comments due to toxic fanboys which can't take criticism that is not even targeted to themselves, deal with it).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rejoice, they dropped Capitalism 2 and it's currently on sale! store.steampowered.com/app/638200/C...
unlabelledView post →played this game then was introduced to capitalism lab which is on enlights website. I highly reccomend this game but if you want the game to be further developed and get more dlcs and great content. go to enlights website and buy capitalism lab. Its just this game but with 10x more content and options. plus they listen to the community and are actively still creating more dlcs that players are actually asking for.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic economic simulation game. You run a holding company that starts up subsidiary businesses across multiple industries (real estate and housing, retail, industry, etc.) and have to manage the supply chains and businesses. Things that make profit do well. Things that don't make profit drag you down. Fantastic game. And since it came out in 2001, it can easily run on pretty much every graphics card made in the last decade.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful. First getting it to even open was Russian roulette, it crashed most of the time on the menu screen. The tutorial really leaves you out to dry, I had absolutely no idea what to do. Even more annoying is the ads that keep telling you to go to a website (that isn't steam) to buy the bigger and better improved version of this game named 'Capitalism Labs'. This website looks like a scammer trap, the type that you accidently click and get infected with spyware. No way should anybody type…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →always wanted to play this when i saw it inside cruise ship tycoon's cd-rom case cover. other than the tutorial and manual guide, there is no hand holding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a good tutorial for someone interested on having an idea of how the business world works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is absolutely one of my favorite games of all time. Despite the dated graphics, it stands the test of time. There's an endless array of options for how you want to build a business. Bascially, it's SimCity but for rich people, even if you're not. There's also a lot of great ideas inspired by actual textbook economics worth considering, in some ways transferable to real life! While I can't say it's true whether or not Harvard and Stanford professors have recommended this game to students…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capitalism 2 has been one of my favorite PC games of all time. I have been playing it around 10 years ago and to be honest, it somehow helped me understand some jargon such as supply and demand which we took up during my Economics class then. It will overwhelm you, but the game is pretty much realistic and educational. I just hope that we have an option to do more than 4 products at a time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 out 10 bankrupt , because why not !!!!!!NICE i like it at most but in my computer it's bad optimized , but it's not probelem , bc this game are older than me :))))

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game a little many, many years ago and wanted to have another go at it, mostly for the sake of nostalgia. I suppose back then I just didn't notice that this game was so rife with bugs, and not just the obvious ones in the tutorial campaign that make completing it rather tough. I really wanted to like this game, but with age and experience, I see the more general problems far more clearly than I did as a youth. So many poor design choices were made in this game, it's difficult to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This implementation is incredibly buggy. I love the game, but will be installing it from off my CDs in the future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not like capitalism lab , its very old style , i know the game is old but captalism lab looks much better i suggest go for capitalism lab needs graphics like capitalism lab

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would recommend the game for anyone who remembers playing the monopoly board game with friends and family and looking to learn about the game cheaply before getting into the more modern and detailed capitalism lab and maybe even thinking about launching an actual company although the game is outdated in-game items still are accurate to real world values abit lower because of current inflation everything costs much more than back in the 1990s. I did enjoy the game found it a bit boring but as…
