tldr An excellent mystery game, but their English version has issues and lacks polish. If you liked the original CaseCracker, this is pretty much more of the same. This review is for the English version of CaseCracker2. If that's not the version you're playing, ignore this review. I played the original CaseCracker and the English translation pushed me to post a "Not recommended" review. I changed my mind later, but man, it was close. Like I said in that review, you need to get the text for a…

Every year, I wonder what indie to mid-tier detective game will get released and become THE game of the year for me. It's easily the genre I care about most. Reading Ellery Queen, Agatha Christie, John Dickson Carr is great fun, but there's a really enjoyable extra layer of interaction when someone builds a real solve-it-yourself murder mystery game. So last year, there was Paranormasight. The year before there was The Centennial Case- neither of them clones of Ace Attorney or Danganronpa…

This is one of the BEST mystery games/series around, very underrated. If you like games like Orwell or Cyber Manhunt you will love this game. You have to find clues in the testimony of various characters and unravel not just a series of 5 whodunnit style mysteries (all decently challenging while being very logical and well explained), but also a larger meta conspiracy mystery. Its multimedia, involving email, game clues and website clues as well.

Seems interesting, but you really can't make a game that relies on parsing / copying text and have localization that's this bad.

The game is less good than the first one. For many reasons. Like the first one, you need to find clues outside the case you are invest in. So... it is difficult to find what you are looking for and to know than you need to search outside the box. There is also too many things happening at the same time. It would have been better to just make things more simple. With one thing at a time instead of having the chase multiple rabbits at the same moment. It make the game more complex and more…

I really have enjoyed my time a lot with this series, and 2 here is no exception. UI and other quality-of-life improvements over the predecessor are quite nice. The English translation also feels better overall than the first game's, to this American English speaker; the occasional ambiguity in text seems more intentional this time around. Though there are some distinct readability issues, a big one with words crossing line breaks, that still distract. There are a couple minor plot points /…

The CaseCracker2 is rarely relaxing and brain burning game,it's a good pastime in my boring life. The 2nd generation is much simpler than the 1st due to the need for the plot, and the search for clues is also much more convenient. Many hidden easter eggs are also very interesting! Looking forward to the appearance of the 3rd installment,I will support it as soon as possible!

I moderately enjoyed the first game. This game is exactly what you'd expect after playing the first one. If you really enjoyed the first game, you're probably going to like this, but if it was just okay for you, then maybe think twice before buying. While the overarching story in CC 1.0 was mildly intriguing, I feel like this one takes it too far and makes it way too convoluted. I just realized I wasn't interested after trying to force myself through the 404 story line. The cases themselves…

CaseCracker2 is a deliberately cerebral sequel that doubles down on investigative depth, presenting players with a demanding and methodical approach to crime-solving that prioritizes logic, observation, and persistence over spectacle. Developed by BlackRobe and published by NPC Entertainment alongside the developer, the game positions itself firmly within the niche of text-driven mystery titles, appealing to players who enjoy unraveling complex systems of information rather than being guided by…

If you liked the first game, just buy it. Bring a piece of paper for your notes; good luck solving the puzzles without it. There are some funny bits hidden away as well, which I wasn't expecting but greatly enjoyed. Hang in there Bro B!

A flawed experience, with the metastory being incredibly difficult to follow, but the cases themselves are compelling, even though figuring out which words are actual clues can be quite annoying sometimes: if you need an investigative itch scratched, this certainly works!

Did you like the first CaseCracker? Then this is more of the same great case-cracking experience. You start off with a single case file and from there you can search for terms that appear. Persons of interest that you find will also comment on the pieces of evidence and relevant locations that you find, so it's worth going back and seeing what they have to say. Also, definitely play the first game if you haven't already, it's also great and there definitely seems to be an overarching plotline…

If you liked the first game, you will like this one. No detective points are deducted for asking for a hint when all crucial clues have been discovered, unlike the first game, so that's an improvement. Unfortunately, this game also suffers from a very small song pool and clue color coding, the notepad still doesn't autoadjust lines, songs can still play three times back to back, there are no subtitles for audio clues, and there still are some issues with gender pronouns. Even then, it's worth a…

I've played this game for 13 hours, got all but two achievements, and solved as many mysteries as it is possible to solve, even the secret ones. I still have so many questions. A+, would recommend.

I'm addicted to puzzle and investigation games and I have to say I absolutely LOVED the challenge this sequel brought me. A lot of people complain about the typos and how some clues are confusing, and I understand what they mean, but when you realize how meta this game can get the typos are really a minor inconvenience. The puzzles upon puzzles are frustrating and wonderful. Along with such an in-depth story, the humor mixed with the plot was so fun. There's humor, there's tragedy, but through…

하고싶지만 묵혀야할듯 1편보단 낫긴한거 같음 some bug/ improvements i'd like to see . will be back when some of this ♥♥♥♥ things are fixed 1. inconsistent clue searches ; such as : one of the cases gives hints as "two emails" and if you keep search for emails it is a wrong hint whereas "email" is the correct search term 2. English dubbing is kinda horrible and incomprehensible it took me some time to learn that you intended to pronounce marble 3. some minor typos and grammars 4. some minor localizing…

还真敢出英文啊你们 With the high verbosity and low readability of the English text (or text of any Latin-alphabet languages for that matter), what it means for text-based games, is a much smaller creative space, and a very higher bar for player enjoyment. This might not be the right way out, definitely not a way western gaming industry can successfully navigate. It might as well be the end of it.
