unlabelledView post →Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) Christophe Gans (co-writer/ director) A big historical fantasy drama action monster movie. I love it to bits. Saw it four times theatrically when it was released. Been a little while since. Action by Phillip Kwok. 📽 #SaturdayActionMovie #Filmsky
unlabelledView post →Just learned that Brotherhood of the Wolf (early 2000s French wire-fu werewolf action movie) is on Amazon Video, so I know what I'm doing for the next 2.5 hours while I work on updating the website.
unlabelledView post →If you’ve never seen the movie Brotherhood of the Wolf before I need you to understand that in the final fight they give the villain a sword made of bones that also somehow transforms into a chain whip and then back into a sword and this is a live-action movie set in pre-revolution France.
unlabelledView post →Today is the 25th anniversary of the release of Brotherhood of the Wolf, the greatest 18th century France kung-fu/undercover nun/monster horror/action movie ever put to film! Seriously, go watch it. #dailynerdfix #moviesky
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #37 "Brotherhood of the Wolf" (Christophe Gans/2001) French period action/horror film about a monster terrorizing a rural area. Come for the monster, stay for Mark Dacascos opening up can upon can of whup ass!
unlabelledView post →I love when I get out of a great movie eager to see a whole bunch of other films it reminded me of. Bride of Frankenstein, Young Frankenstein, Lisa Frankenstein, Poor Things, Brotherhood of the Wolf, The Substance, how do I even pick?
unlabelledView post →Vincent Cassel is in this film. I’m thinking heavily about showing Brotherhood of the Wolf. #HATM

unlabelledView post →Watching Brotherhood of The Wolf for Film Sack tomorrow. Firs time.
unlabelledView post →It’s a good day to watch Brotherhood of the Wolf. The most Bloodborne movie we got. Better than we deserve.
unlabelledView post →I think I’d call myself a legitimate fan of Christoph Gans. He’s a rare sorta director who only does projects he’s 1000% passionate about. Mostly adaptations, though his best film is an original story (Brotherhood of the Wolf) with elements that feel like an adaptation. His movies go hard.

unlabelledView post →Now watching: The Brotherhood of the Wolf and I'm so confused by whatever this martial hand to hand combat tradition they're drawing on here for this movie set in 18th-century France lol
unlabelledView post →Honestly, a film so bad it makes you re-evaluate whether the director's previous work had any merit whatsoever, or whether maybe we were all just too drunk/stoned in the 2000s to realise that Brotherhood of the Wolf and the original Silent Hill movie might have also been completely rubbish.
unlabelledView post →Good grief. As a fan of the original Silent Hill games, being fond of director Christophe Gans’ Brotherhood of the Wolf, yet merely surviving the previous films I went into the new SH with measured expectations. It did not meet them. Quite possibly the worst film I’ve ever watched in a cinema.
unlabelledView post →Okgoreberfest day 4, film 10 - The Brotherhood of the Wolf As confusing as it was fun! But maybe half an hour too long.
unlabelledView post →Just finished watching Brotherhood of the Wolf for the first time since '02 or '03 for our next podcast recording with @scumbelievable.bsky.social! I can't believe I've remembered this movie as good for 20 years. It is not good.
unlabelledView post →Anyways, yeah, sure, Justice Smith is in it? I'll check it out. However the next movie I'm watching is Brotherhood of the Wolf, and after that, it's @pabastien.bsky.social's pick, so it'll be 3 movies from now
unlabelledView post →I know that Bellucci gets all the attention in Brotherhood of the Wolf for...obvious...reasons but that's no excuse to ignore the other ladies in the movie.
unlabelledView post →🚨 New Episode Alert! 🚨 We're joined this week by @scumbelievable.bsky.social, who, in addition to being one of the finest horror authors working today, is also on of our finest dilm critics AND she chose what could be our dumbest movie yet, Brotherhood of the Wolf. You don't want to miss it!
unlabelledView post →"Brotherhood of the Wolf" is such a weird fucking movie. The æsthetics drip so heavily from the film, and it has such a fun story to tell, but then it also ham-fists in kung fu that clash very garishly with the rest of the film.
unlabelledView post →Later this week on The Greatest Movie EVER! Podcast, we're going to record an episode about Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), so please respond to this post with questions / comments if you'd like to participate in the Fan Feedback section of the show.
unlabelledView post →Giving the BLOODBORNE movie a rewatch. (a.k.a. BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF.)
unlabelledView post →On Friday, Dark Hollow opens in theaters as a new monster movie! Until then, here are some faves of moi: * Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein: greatest movie flick ever! * Possession: icky Octopus beast wants booty with Isabelle Adjani. I’m in! * Brotherhood Of The Wolf: Frenchie werewolf - Nice!
unlabelledView post →me and the puppy just finished watching Brotherhood of the Wolf. it has been pitched to me before as "the bloodborne movie", but i did not realize just *how* much bloodborne draws on this film. it's not just the hats and the wolf monsters and all that - they straight up invented the Threaded Cane
unlabelledView post →There's a great deal of influences for me, but to pick one in particular that I distinctly feel needs more love is The Brotherhood of the Wolf. A French historical action horror film focused around The Beast of Gévaudan, and the conspiracy around it. It has a /vibe/, man.
unlabelledView post →March comes in like a lion, albeit one that is armored up and disguised as a magical monster in our review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001):

unlabelledView post →go to a town that was forced to evacuate from a coal mine fire you associate with Silent Hill because the guy who made Brotherhood of the Wolf got to make a video game movie, park in the snow at a cemetery, and break rocks in half looking for prehistoric ferns until your face goes numb from the cold
unlabelledView post →Samuel Le Bihan as Fronsac, the other half of the greatest bromance ever told on film in Brotherhood of the Wolf. A charming rogue who doesn’t take anything seriously until everything is taken from him. Then he goes on a rampage. I also love BotW because the real monster (SPOILER) is the people.
unlabelledView post →Back in 2001, went to the movie theater in Union Station to watch "Brotherhood of the Wolf", in French with subtitles. One of the audience members had a very vocal disagreement with the movie about exactly what caliber of bullshit that was.
unlabelledView post →Half an hour, ghouls and goblins! Half an hour til it's time for #HorrorWatch! Tonight we're watching "The Brotherhood of the Wolf" - a French martial art werewolf movie starring "the Chairman's nephew" from the American Iron Chef! Be there or be square!

unlabelledView post →Unlocked @horrorvanguard.bsky.social on Brotherhood of the Wolf is a hoot! (A howl?) Immensely fun, if confused, film; glad for the excuse to revisit. unlabelledView post →It’s a little late for the Brotherhood of the Wolf #HorrorWatch, but this would have made a good beer pairing with the movie.
unlabelledView post →Brotherhood of the Wolf Absolutely my platonic idea of an "action-horror" movie.
unlabelledView post →BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF 2⭐ It's a very long very French film that goes on a little too long and it's... ...it was something. 2⭐ A cheesy bodice ripping comic drama but nonetheless an enjoyable one but far too long. 3⭐ Homo homini lupus. Man is wolf to man. 3⭐ A fun action movie about... 2/x
unlabelledView post →Post your favorite movie poster of all time Never seen it; apparently it’s a 20s version of Brotherhood of the Wolf, so maybe I should. But, Russian constructivism ftw. Put one in the living room anyway. #2CTEH2

In no particular order, and this is only my mind right now, - Grave of the Fireflies - LOTR - The Mummy (Brendan Fraser) - Fifth Element - The Northman Honorable mentions, and depending on my mood, any of these might sneak into the list: - Empire Strikes Back - Spirited Away - Hotel Rwanda - The Lives of Others - Princess Bride - White Christmas - Blade Runner / Blade Runner 2049 - Dune - Your Name - Alien - The Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le pacte des loups) -…
unlabelledView post →Did some belated Bloodborne homework and watched Brotherhood of the Wolf, unfortunately a really boring movie with wonk pacing... But I got my fill on general eyecandy since it was a costume drama so not too much wasted time

unlabelledView post →Very excited for tomorrow's episode of @favoritebadmovie.bsky.social where we talk about, the worst movie we've watched yet, Brotherhood of the Wolf. The best character is Mark Dacascos in red face and is like if Dances With Wolves was French and had bigfoot and bigfoot worked for the illuminati.
unlabelledView post →One of my favorite, and most random martial arts in film. Brotherhood of the Wolf.
unlabelledView post →It's a toss up between The Tree of Life or whatever the Arnofsky movie is Brotherhood of the Wolf and a Canadian movie no one but me has seen about gay men in a prison called Lillies.
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching French film Brotherhood of the Wolf. Many Bloodborne fans say a lot of inspiration was taken from this film, and from this poster it's easy to see. #FilmSky #MovieSky #Bloodborne
unlabelledView post →I'll watch it, but I have no idea why we need another Werewolf movie when we have Brotherhood of the Wolf - the perfect werewolf movie featuring the best cinematic transition from a breast to a mountain in movie history.
