Species II
Having just returned from a mission to Mars, Commander Ross isn't exactly himself. He's slowly becoming a terrifying alien entity with one goal -- to procreate with human women! When countless women suffer gruesome deaths after bearing half-alien offspring, scientist Laura Baker and hired assassin Press Lennox use Eve, a more tempered alien clone, to find Ross and his brood. Before long Eve escapes to mate with Ross. From TMDB

Year 2, Day #5 "Species II" (Peter Medak/1998) Another film that has its fair share of haters but me, I fucking love it. It reminds me of the horror sequels from the 80s that had to up their game significantly. Check it out!

unlabelledView post →now SPECIES II. It's bad movies...IN SPACE space s p a c e sleazy and laughable fun if you ask me, although it's a little surreal seeing most of the same cast in a shoddy ripoff of the first movie
unlabelledView post →#nw Species II (1998) The first movie was great, so I'm checking out more about the lore in the sequel when it gave me a T2 (1991) vibe into the mix when I saw the trailer. #Filmsky #HorrorSky

I've defended plenty of horror movies on GenreVision (including XTRO!), but this defense double feature of SPECIES II & THE FLY II is an all-time favorite. I adore them both and I even like one of them more than its predecessor! #horrorsky 🎥📽️🎞️🎬

unlabelledView post →It’s really funny that Species II is like “this movie isn’t even as good as one of the bad Alien movies but the advantage we have is we’re willing to show onscreen sex and boobs so we’re going to just kinda go all in and maybe that’ll carry the lack of interesting writing”

unlabelledView post →An unknown werewolf movie to this day I only remember ONE scene from. Hellraiser, Species II, City of Angels, Braveheart... at some point Mon gave up and only would intervene if sex/nudity was involved. Horror was fair game with an added "if you have nightmares, I don't wanna hear it." Books tho?

unlabelledView post →Species II. In some ways, it’s the platonic ideal of a sequel: do everything the first movie did, but do *more*. It’s sleazier, it’s gorier, it’s WTFier. The first one at least tried to be grounded. This one has missions to Mars and characters out of a Metal Gear game.
unlabelledView post →(Strobing lights warning!) I've said it again and will continue to do so numerous times after, but how do we feel on monster x monster couples? Figured I would do this again since I realized I can actually upload a gif of probably my favorite monster romance in a film now. (Species II, 1998)

Tell me why i rewatch that film with an adult lens and he's rapist serial killer trying to takeover the world??? I was so heartbroken

unlabelledView post →Watching Species II. While the first film didn't end up as sexy or taboo as they advertised, this movie is trashier, sleazier, just sorta icky all around. So its a far better film. Just glorious in its excess.
unlabelledView post →Species II: Henstridge is mostly sidelined here but that aside this was a very enjoyable b-movie sequel, full of gnarly, bloody effects and cynical direction. A fine 'that guy' selection of support cast added plenty.
unlabelledView post →No! SPECIES II gives me more of what I want from Sil (namely her existential crisis), but the movie still underuses her.
unlabelledView post →Weird that Madsen thought that. I think Species II is a much better movie. It’s creatively unhinged in all sorts of good ways.

I've seen this before, but it was a long time ago, and even then I remember not thinking it was a good film, but watching the SHOUT! extras...it seems WAY more impressive than I remember and has WAY more wild stuff than the first film did. O___O

unlabelledView post →The first Species is pretty competent B-movie fare with a solid cast and direction (Roger Donaldson is quite underrated IMHO) Species II felt like something just a little bit above what Roger Corman and Charles Band were doing in the straight-to-video era in production values and storytelling
unlabelledView post →That said...SPECIES II not being a great movie is somewhat irrelevant, because I just like this franchise. I was in high school when I saw the first one, and I just think that Sil/Eve is a great character, and that the overall film has some great ideas that...just aren't fully realized.

Now unlike with the first of these not-so-classic sci-fi films, this time it's the man who needs to breed and boy does he have a go. No woman is safe - but none of them are "Eve" (Natasha Henstridge). She is the woman of his dreams but is secure in a…

In-house channel surfers finding #SpeciesII a couple times, and #OpposingForce today. #RapeIsNotAPlotDevice I didn't check which network for the former but will prob check today's shortly. Noticing a lot of this cishetero fantasy violence stuff lately, as well as the ongoing cringe-racist "classic Westerns."
