60 of 60 · most liked firstVery similar to the newer Jagged Alliance games like JA: Back in Action and JA: Crossfire, in that it is a real-time with pause tactical action game. As other reviews mention, the tutorial is not particularly helpful beyond teaching you the most very basics of the controls, but I think most of the issues come from a bad localization, aside from a few irritating bugs. Quite difficult to get a hang of, but rewarding to master, and in my opinion deeper than aforementioned Jagged Alliance titles.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Squad-based tactical wargame, with the very complicated and realistic engine, one of the best in the whole genre. It’s been more than 10 years after the first release of the E5, but up to this moment, you can’t find better gaming experience, when we speak about tactical shootouts “like in the Jagged Alliance”. Sadly, but all this richness on the battlefield goes with considerable amount of bugs, and total insolvency of "Brigade E5" in all gameplay aspects except from shooting. E5 New Jagged…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Raw experience. Only for absolute fans that are still hungry for tactical games. Combat is great, best real time with pause combat I ever played in my gaming life. Most games with RTwP is just a mess. But here, combined with fragile characters make the game intense. No handholding, don't feel bad when you read the only avaliable walkthrough in the whole internet.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're a 7.62 high caliber player, you might be asking why you would bother getting this when it just looks like an early tech demo for 7.62 It is infact, the superior game as far as mechanics are concerned. E5 is woefully unpolished, it has bugs (not game-breaking thankfully) and the story is incomprehnsible and the graphics are worse, but it has several features that make it a better play than its sequel. For one thing, the town maps are more varied and actually feature large numbers of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not, under any circumstances, buy this game. The concept seems good enough, it is supposed to be a RPG/"Turn Based" Tactical Game. Unfortunately the game is so riddled with bugs that I can not test that claim. I tried the tutorial to attempt to learn the somewhat odd control scheme. Objective 1, knock out the guard and take his key and gun. Done, objective 2, kill the second guard, obje...... wait, I can't complete the 2nd objective! It won't let me attack the guard! It just gives the same…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ive played Man of Prey, another game much like this, which I rate highly, so I really wanted to like this game, but unfortately I felt a little let down. The tutorial is passible, it however isnt very helpful, and not particularly clear to the casual gamer on how it works. I had a few thick moments with it where the game is constantly asking me to hip fire, and i'm wondering why I cant do it. My character was crouched....duh! There's a lot of be had in this and it does feel very much like an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know this game and i am suprised to see it in steam. Apeiron (developer company) is now history, vanished due bankruptcy and "we-dont-care-go-away" publisher 1C. But this game is gold. Solid history (kill the dictator, kill the general, kill the smuggler...Or join one of them. Or try to be a tripple-agent), intresting quests and possibility to play around with guns and equipment - a heaven for JA fan. Furthermore, E5 is a base for fan-made modifications, like Blue Sun, Bonus Mod etc, wich can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To adress the main complaint, Yes the tutorial sucks I'll admit I had a tough time figuring it out I'll be honest the game is not friendly to newcomers however when you get the hang of it with some patience it isnt all the bad and you might enjoy it. It does have its issues aside from the tutorial, enetering buildings and controling the camera inside also sucks tand the second floor will disappear but not a bug! Just slow down on the mouse and if you lose your character press E and it will go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One will never fall in love with this game from the first glimpse. And the second one. And the third. This one gem (I truly think of it in this way) is hidden deep inside. Very sad thing. It's so deep, one's more likely to drop it earlier. The game is a DETAILED tactics. As it has to be. And this details are giving you both: a freedom and a burden to bear with. The freedom comes with a choices: - Mercenaries - Armor and tactical equipment - Ammo - Transport - Tons of utilities and so on.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A not-bad pausable tactical game. It plays out in real-time, but you can pause to give orders. If you like Silent Storm, Jagged Alliance or maybe the original Fallout series (1 & 2) or X-Com, then you'll likely find something you like here. Some Pros: Stats & Skills level up through use. The ability to toggle specific features, such as 'no critical hits', 'no misfire', etc., is really nice. I wish more games let you have more choice as to how features like this go. The 'Fast Turn'…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game full of bugs. I discovered two game breaking bugs even before I was able to get through the first fight - a fight that is ridiculously hard from the outset with multiple enemies flanking you immediately and with one wound you will drop your weapon and it's virtually impossible to recover. That's on the off-chance that the game doesn't crash before you die anyway. You would really have to be a masochist to enjoy anything about this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well this is a great game but it has some flaws and crashing issues. this is what jagged alliance back in action should have been like.... you get huge amounts of weapons, the ability to modify your weapons with bipods, sights and noob toobs etc.... if you can handle the stuttering and imperfections you will have a good time..... i got this with 7.62 but i want to finish this before i play 7.62
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good start for the developers to make the later games, but there are so many QoL changes made in 7.62 HC and Marauder that compared to them this game just feels awful to play after playing the rest. Only play it if you really want to have the complete collection and wanted to see how it began, otherwise i cant suggest you to play it. There's very little that 7.62 doesn't already do better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall it was a good game at the time, offering many new features that other games lacked. But tons of bugs and poor implementation of some features makes this game inferior to more "modern" options such as the sequel 7.62 also available on Steam. I remember playing this game several years ago, just before I got my copy of 7.62 High Calibre. I really like some of the features that Brigade E5 included, such as SPM and the weapons selection and customization. But the game was plagued with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playable only for nostalgia.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can handle extreme jank (not as bad as 7.62 frankly) and ugly graphics, there is a lot of gun porn underneath and is actually pretty fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like a pre-alpha tech demo. Complete garbage. The game does not even have music or sound. It's not worth a cent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My childhood game, in this game you can create your team, fight against gangsters, buy amazing weapons, etc... Best tactical game for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game of my childhood)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unnecessarily 'over-complex'... even the simplest of tasks feel like a chore. The camera control is frustrating, as is the inventory system.. It's possible there is some fun hidden beneath all of this, but I will never have the patience to find it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my squad of badasses in Brigade E5. I love this game so much. "Jagged Alliance but as an RTWP game" is such an underrated hidden gem of an idea.
unlabelledView post →Firstly I am a huge fan of squad based rts games like this, I have played them all. ALL the X-com ALL the UFO ALL the early fallout and ALL the jagged alliance series. This game is the WORSE I have EVER seen. It is a REAL DOG. Laggy buggy hell the tutorial doesnt even work. Even If it were free it would be a total WASTE of time. It crashes ALL the time, won't load ANY savegames and is that old there will NEVER be ANY fixes or patches. Even though it only cost around 5 bucks it was a total waste…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to give this game a thumbs down as I absolutely love the genre. Indeed, there's probably a teriffic game buried somewhere within Brigade E5. I liked the few bits I could work out. But after five hours' play - including the tutorial - I realised I was more baffled than when I started. Life's too short.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd argue that what makes Brigade E5 such a good game is BECAUSE it has tank controls. it's so endearing to have tank controls in a squad-based RTWP game. even the enemy plays by the same rules.
unlabelledView post →Brigade E5: New Jagged Union is a dense and uncompromising tactical strategy game developed by Apeiron and published by Fulqrum Publishing that aims to capture the chaos and moral ambiguity of modern mercenary warfare. Set in the fictional tropical nation of Palinero, the game places players in the role of a mercenary commander navigating a volatile civil war where power is fragmented, alliances are unstable, and profit often outweighs ideology. From the outset, it is clear that Brigade E5 is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is easier control a plane in DCS than to control a human in this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games is so bugged, that main plot cannot be completed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since this game is from the people that made men of war, this is crap, its graphics, terrible, the controls, hard as heck, to learn, the difficlty, insane, this is terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful polygoned copy of commandos, plays incredible bad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game but it crashes everytime i load a save. its still a cool game nice tactical gameplay. skill moments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game lacks in being a role-playing game, compared to the likes of its sequel and Jagged Alliance 2, the game it obviously wants to be, but it more than makes up for its shortcomings by providing excellent tactical fun, Its advantages over its sequel include being much more stable and having maps with less janky pathfinding and collision. The AI might also be better, though that is harder to determine -- there are no issues with them phasing through walls like they always do in 7.62, at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've loved this game for years! Since it was new! The developer has cool ideas about timing the weapons and the variety is awesome for the gun nut!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the story line, and how you get to control the mercenaries.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's nice game if you are fun of tactic strategy games like JA2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Removing this from my library due to the company being Russian, and me being against war in Ukraine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The same junk as 7.62 but older and uglier. Looks like Marauder/Man of Prey was the only good game from the devs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a realtime (pausable) 3D rendered military tactical/RPG game ripping off the theme of Jagged Alliance (and even the name). Hire mercenaries and rescue a third world country from baddies, manage your inventory and weapons and wrestle with the 15 year old graphics. It's a workable idea but the implementation here is poor. Even for 2006 the game assets are low poly and the textures are low resolution. There's 4K support, but not everywhere. The general low quality is an obstacle to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes a while to get into. Like real life, this game is unforgiving. It's a realistic depiction of the mercenary career. It does have time compression but if you shouldn't use it when travelling etc. to experience how dull being a god of war is. It makes you question every second and every decision, which is why it's so rewarding when you get it right. Missions are sometimes bugged but who (tf) plays tactical games for the story?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game tries to be modern day Warband. And fails at it. Day combat is not worth it. Night combat is worth it if you want to crawl for about a minute and get 1 guaranteed kill. And then it boils down to dice toss of shots since your character apparently can't shoot for ♥♥♥♥ from a handgun. From prone. With 3 seconds to aim. At close range. The only way to win a fight is to spam rough aim shots to stun enemies and hope that they don't do the same to you or get a lucky headshot that instantly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if u look at the game trailer it seems promising but when u launch the game it's like what the hell did I spent time on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The nostalgia hit hardly fade away. My reason for being a gamer. EDIT1: nominated for no apologies award nov 2017
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Succesor to Jagged alliance if you wish to play a dumbed down type of simular game. Basic, Boring and pointless to play. Really an idiot game?, Thier is no great game engine the tactics are simple and almost removed from the enviroment, besides in the most basic way. This game is of no comparison to Jagged Alliance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely a crappy game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game for its depth and realistic firearm models, how it handles ammo, etc.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think Brigade E5 is the greatest RTWP game I've ever played so far, but I need to give 762 High Calibre a try once I finish BE5
unlabelledView post →I hope they port the the game on smartphones.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. Bugged but really great time!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as a 7.62 high calbier enjoyer, 15 min is enough to know that imma enjoy the original as wheel
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game turned me into a gun nut.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i just finished the first encounter. i love this jank ass garbage
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As cool as LARPing a military outfit is, and considering that the enemies "level with you" (which in this game is a plus, considering you start with a pistol...), I still can't recommend this game. It's just too Russian: very cool mechanics and a lot of details (if you equip a silencer, you can see it on the gun), but also very rough around the edges, missions uncompletable, no explanations for literally anything (read the ingame tips, they are a godsend!)...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ironically i love it. its one of those games where the graphics doesnt look good but the game is damn satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can get over the dated graphics you will be well rewarded with the gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not a bad game if you can get it for cheap Pretty difficult, a bit like Jagged Alliance and Silent Storm
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game if you like Real Time/Smart Pause tactical games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! Need VR. 10 HL:Alyx out of 10!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an old gem of tactical game in the Jagged Alliance style. While it might be frustrating with the tons of bugs and technical difficulties, it will provide hours of fun to any true JA fan (if it works on your machine that is). And don't forget the plethora of available weapons and weapon accessories. One big difference to JA2 - it is real time with active pause, not turn based.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello i have big problem since i played this game for years non steam, how to get that apc in mission whitch u need to clear outpost thank u
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Tactical - Squad & Military Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from LIbrary TLDR: Outdated game with poor plot hooks, world setting, cheap 3D engine and somewhat overwhelming UI. Review: I am somewhat familiar with how these games are meant to play out. I like the inventory system, the fact that characters are individually equippable with multiple inventory slots, the loot system, the skill system that is individualized, and the multiple shooting style and body positions…
