Your basic attacks don’t deal a lot of damage and the enemies are tanky. The game mitigates this with its gauge mechanic, in where you can activate a super attack if you hit the enemy X number times within a short amount time. But because of the stamina bar mechanic I found myself backing off and waiting for my stamina to regenerate in full before attempting an attack cycle…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before going on with the review, I would like to appreciate the effort put by the team in this title. It really shows, and thats something most games lack, however, thats almost as far as you'd want to read if you expect positive stuff. I don't know if its the team lack of experience in some aspects of game design, lack of time and polishing, or just weird decisions all around, but the game at its core has some big flaws imo. In today's videogame market, flooded by long-mantained games, early…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Throughout the video game timeline, action platformers have always been popular to create and play, with few who have really tried much new in the genre. But that's not a bad thing at all, as it gives players a sense of instant familiarity with a new game in this genre. Blind Fate: Edo no Yami brings together both a feudal Japan and a postmodern cyberpunk Japanese setting, offering a mix of fast-paced and more strategic action. There is nothing else like this on the market and that is an…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blind Fate: Edo no Yami is a story-driven, Souls-like hack and slash side scroller in 2.5D with outstanding visuals and tough-as-nails combat. Initially, this review started with the tag-line: "If you don’t like the Dark Souls iconic difficulty, this game isn’t for you.". While this was painfully true at the moment of playing and reviewing it, things changed considerably with the release of the [url=https://steamcommunity.com/games/1294880/announcements/detail/3301724837308916725]1.0.2 Patch on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is really really cool. I don't remember the last time game served me my ass on a plate so much in the first couple of hours and I didn't ragequit it. Gotta go to work now, but freaking delightful game, will add more as soon as a I am back, but now I also want a cyberdemosamurai AI. EDIT 1: I will not tell you that to show off, but just in case, I beat the first boss at the first attempt without taking damage. EDIT 2: I read a review on a magazine about the game having Input Lag. Dude, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A slow-paced action game with some original ideas and one, significant, flaw. Maybe recommended, but not for everyone. When I started writing this review, my opinion of the game was essentially positive and I wanted to recommend it. However, my opinion was mixed at the end of my playthrough, and since there's only a "yes or no" choice on Steam… I feel like leaning towards the latter more than the former. I start with the main feature of the game, namely Yami's sensors. For story-related…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some nice ideas in here, but the gameplay is brutally protracted.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good concept and design, but the latter is "ruined" by the fact that you almost never see it due to the sensory mechanic. The combat system is extremely clunky and pretty boring, and the level design and arenas are extremely underwhelming.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is surprisingly repetitive for a game I expected to bring some new ideas to the table with its central theme. That's OK, but my game crashes every 10 minutes or so, even after trying a few different combinations of settings.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soooo what we have here? Let's start with cool things! • Awesome style! No ♥♥♥♥, it really cool! • Pretty nice narrative • Interesting mechanics (at least that one with sensors) Ok. And here it is - cons ○ Terrible controls - it's really uncomfortable, bulky. That for beat'em up game is crucial. ○ Balance - totally terrible. One shots on the earlier parts of game, no dodge | parry and so on. ○ Bugs....well, it more like couch on NY back street. You realize that something wrong when it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blind Fate: Edo no Yami is a bland "action" game, with simplistic combat and dull level design, but on the plus side...well, it looks alright. Graphically its quite pleasant, and it has some nifty camera work as it introduces one of the enemy types by having them leaping from the background into the foreground with a stylish panning movement. Though it's so proud of this that it repeats it over, and over, and overrr again every time this enemy appears, which gets tedious. It's also a case of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been following this project for looong time (played Demo and Prologue). The game is not perfect and there's room for improvement in some areas, but man, it is a much needed fresh take on the genre. I expect some people to complain about difficulty, and the game is difficult, but it also gives you all the means to overcome difficulties, enemies, bosses, etc. All you need to do is pay attention to all the details (dialogues, descriptions, tutorial messages, etc.). I saw people complaining about…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: I received the review key free of charge from the game publisher 101XP. I'm not affiliated with 101XP and I have not received any kind of compensation for my review. Blind Faith: Edo no Yami is what I'd call a soul-lite action game set in a feudal-punk Sengoku-era Japan. You take control of Yami, once a famous demon-hunter samurai faithfully serving the Shogun now reduced to a blind, bionic-warrior that needs to rely on his artificial sensors. While Yami tries to track down his…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The quality is very polished and has amazing aesthetics. Been looking forward to this game for some time. Can't provide a full review because I just started playing it, but the tutorial seems a bit half-arsed. At times, they don't really provide enough hints to the next steps in the tutorials. The Introduction & training Dojo needs more information provided on what to do, you often find yourself trying everything to trigger the next sequence with very little information. Most selection items…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →90% great but 100% disappointing. This one is a rare case of a game that I really want to like, but in the end I just cant recommend it in its current state. There is some really unique and even fun game ideas but the execution is good at times and other times is just terrible. Many of the cut scenes are just cringe worthy while at the same time the story isn't bad... its just disappointing. The final boss was the final nail for me. When almost all of the game is full of pushover easy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never wrote one of these but here we go: Pros: - Interesting concept - uses 3 senses to traverse levels, detect, and attack enemies - Added Skill tree (you unlock more skills as you progress) - Promotes level revisiting to get full completion on some stages (replay value I guess but not for me) - Upgrades... (helps I guess) Cons: - Gets Repetitive VERY FAST! - Some of THE most annoying boss fights, Kirin (devs say they fixed this, I still found it annoying), Tatsu, Amatsumara - Bosses are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked the game's visuals and combat system. In the beginning of the game, you're afraid of every enemy type and every fight, trying to wait for a perfect opportunity to land a hit. But later in the game, you'll discover some new skills and upgrades that'll make you feel way more powerful and confident on the battlefield. Although, the enemies you'll encounter won't get any easier, you'll meet new enemy types every now and then, which in total creates a good variety in gameplay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I tried the Prologue of this game, I was dying to see the rest of it! Mechanics, graphics, music looked simply amazing. Now I'm playing the whole game and everything is still there, with a full world ready to be explored. Don't miss this little gem! Try it...you'll not regret it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is so much stuff in this game! Beautiful environments, interesting gameplay, a perfect soundtrack, and an intriguing story told in a unique style. There are some films in which characters use their senses or other systems to see enemies, secret passages and hidden objects. We finally see this very interesting ability in a game as well and it´s beautifully rendered! I was hit a few times because I forgot that the main character is blind and the game wants you to be alert at all times…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique game concept. Easy to learn, hard to master. Cool audio and aesthetic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just started playing it. What impressed me the most was the soundtrack (epic! A mix of Blader Runner and Japanese folk music), the excellent graphics and the compelling storytelling. The gameplay is fun, but very challenging at times (casual gamer this isn't for you!). If you love challenges and good stories, I can highly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for almost 3 hours! I was really looking forward to this game and it did not disappoint!! The environments are beautiful and the sensor mechanic feels like a novelty in this game. Going around and discovering hidden passages, lore fragments and enemies with the sensors feels great! There's so much to discover (every enemy has its own story/background and even some hints about how you can kill them!). I find some of the voice overs not so great (especially the bard), but besides that,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edo No Yami is a great adventure settled ina new Cyberpunk Edo age. Fresh an innovative gameplay mechanics mixed with a revisited ancient in cyberpunk style japanese folklore. the game it's surprisingly curated for to be made by a small indie team. The core of the game is the sensors system that sobstitutes Yami's senses. It makes deep the gameplay, giving the need to choose the right sensor at the right time. Highly reccomanded.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really dig the overall concept of the game: good mix of traditional Japanese characters with cyber futuristic twist and a thoughtful message of the story, nice! Gameplay feels a little slow in the beginning (there's not a single fight where you can jump around carelessly, everyone can kill you with a few blows). But after an hour or 2 I went all in on the air stomp skills and maaaan that paid off! So yeah, give it a couple of hours, and some default goons won't be a problem anymore. Bosses…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game is great! I feel some of the more inexperienced players find it difficult, but with some consideration and thought, you can see the positives!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kirin is a ♥♥♥♥. a ♥♥♥♥ mind as the developer who make that ♥♥♥♥ in the early game. waste of time. not recommence to buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, i was hoping that the battle system more like blasphemous or bloodstained ritual of the night.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing! Amazing! Amazingggg!! But first things first. User friendy interface, interesting mechanics where you need to use senses to effectively fight with enemies, varios types of upgrades, fascinating plot and incredible graphics. The atmosphere of cyber samurais is stunning. I love everything about this game but view. Side-view is not what I've been used to, but it's my personal. I highly recommend this game~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good concept, poor execution. Using sound/smell/heat to detect enemies and overcome environmental challenges is really unique, but the game just isn't fun to play. Movement feels slow and clunky, parrying and ranged attacks are pointless as you can easily dodge everything with i-frames. The game looks decent but 90% of the time you're stuck with a colour filter over everything to show what sense you're using. Story is terrible and the writing doesn't fit the tone of the game. "I'm weird. /…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blind Fate: Edo no Yami is an ambitious and atmospheric action-adventure that sets itself apart through both its thematic fusion and its mechanical identity. Developed by Troglobytes Games and published by 101XP, the game places players in a cyberpunk reimagining of feudal Japan, where folklore, machinery, and authoritarian rule collide. Rather than presenting this world through conventional visual clarity, the game commits fully to its central idea: the protagonist is blind, and perception…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just started, the entry point is hard, and the story is very confusing at first but as you progress further it gets much clearer. And initially it feels super hard to beat even at normal level, but as you get hold of the mechanics it really gets easier. Recommended to play on normal for challenge, but you can always switch between difficulty in options. Awesome graphics BTW, really enjoy so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a great game and i highly recommend it. Its a pretty difficult game and it is very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game locked up twice in the 20 minutes I played. Every time I tried to use a "weak spot" on an enemy it would lock-up. Secondly, Having 3 different "senses" you have to cycle through to find your enemies seem absurd. This game is hot garbage. Solid 2/10.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not as good as I thought after play it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Cyber Edo Samurai setting is amazing and has its own distinct style. I like the atmosphere and design; MC, NPCs, and enemies all look cool and interesting; it's a mix of mythological Japanese creatures and Sci-Fi technologies. The gameplay has its own unique and interesting features, the music is pleasant, and the story is intriguing and perfectly complements the game style. P.S. The Dog is so cute!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its quite an enjoyable game with an interesting concept of using specific senses to be able to interact with certain things as you are playing a blind samurai. Story / Plot Not the best but its decently written, there are some parts which feels rushed or skipped. Narration and dialogue is a little off or missing on some parts. Overall its alright. The game can be completed within 3 - 4 hours or less if you only focus on the main story playthrough. Gameplay Most time can be spent on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Samurai + Robots + engaging combat system + fantastic soundtracks You need anything else?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried, I swear I tried. Very bad movement and reaction and, for a story-driven game it totally lacks of some kind of emotion. Maybe another time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky movement and combat. Story is ok Too many collectibles that needs backtracking on same map over and over. Got tired and don't wanna complete it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement in this game is awful. There are so many bugs that kill you or stop progression making you have to die or reload. Wouldn't recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the weak spot attack & the 3 senses concept is fun, but the stiff control in combat makes it really hard to enjoy, moreover, the attack doesnt feel satisfying at all, mainly due to lack of sound design and attention to attack/execute animation. As a hack and slash game, the stamina bar is the worst mechanic that constantly breaking combat flow. the story also suffered badly, the cutscene cut in an absurd way that left me ??? most of the time, like u'll expect the cutscene to continue but then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game plays great at the beginning, starting to disintegrate/distracting and get boring mid way....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/6xmmEAegiDg Working an uncommon sense base mechanic has potential but it falls apart when the crux of the formula is that some enemies are stinky and others are warm.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 don't like the pc controls. Runs and looks good though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible platforming kills the game, makes certain bosses basically unplayable. Too basic, albeit with an interesting premise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty slow paced, the gameplay tried to implement something new with the senses, but honestly it's just a miss for me. It was fun at first, but then it just got repetitive and boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the beginning looks good but after some time, I dunno, you bet bored, the charm fades away and... Another title which goes to bench to wait till I finish better titles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was incredibly excited to play this game after watching the trailer. I've always loved combat with a focus on timing and parrying (I mean, just look at my playtime in Sekiro) so to bring it to a 2D platformer seemed like an interesting idea. The senses mechanic is incredibly unique and interesting, and I love the idea of getting more information about the world from potentially outdated sources. The setting is also perfect – I love cyberpunk and I love samurai, so this game seemed PERFECT to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to play this game through but I really can't.Here're the reasons: -The level design is too boring. You go a long way, kill some enemies, then another long way.Luckily the character moves pretty fast; -For the early stages, you can kill any enemy by hit and run(or dash, maybe),then QTE.Nothing is exclusive.(I watched the playthrough video then, still the same in the late stages); -The puzzles in this game requires 10% of brain works,60% running through scenes moving things and 30% for watching…
