60 of 94 · most liked first6 hours in and I feel like this is the game I was looking for. Was playing some of the "free" fantasy simulation shop/city building games for a while now to pass the time. I wanted a little more dungeon crawler and less feeling like I was playing a game that felt like a second job. There's a good balance between the different elements in the game and it feels like the progression is well earned if you put in the time. The shop aspect of this is interesting, although I'd love it if the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun Game to begin with, reminds me of the Atelier Games, but with a much simpler crafting System. But, after some Time you encounter a Bug thats gonna softlock your Game.. It seems that mostly Ppl with a Nvidia Card got this problem. Gonna change my Review if they fix this Bug.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Daily routine: eat some food for huge exp boost, heal in a church, fight five fights on arena to get some resources from enemies from past dungeons (available later in a story), check guild for new quests, heal in a church, explore one dungeon (collect resources from mining nodes, kill enemies for resources/quests), craft some items in your workshop, put some items on sale and open the shop. Repeat every day. Characters are manually generated, can use two classes (second one unlocks at level…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok so BEFORE YOU BUY. you need to be aware that this game is very similiar to games i can find for free on newgrounds. it doesnt bring anything new to the genre. its literally just a generic blacksmithy game with a hefty $20 price tag on it. at most i would pay $5 for a game like this even knowing their are free games that do the exact same thing as this game. definitely a refund
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game but after 2 and a half hours i enountered a gamebreaking bug , where i try to kill a black wolf miniboss, and the conversation after the fight freezes . even if you skip it, you're basically frozen in place, and cant cancel or move anything. therefore i cant continue playing and cant progress. will change my recommendation if they communicate and fix the game. edit: workaround was shown to me, setting windows 10 language to english (united states) as prefered and display language.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has stripped out everything that would make for an enjoyable experience and has replaced it with grind. Mindnuming repetitve grind. The combat is so bare bones that even basic functionality like looking at enemies stats and weaknesses has to be unlocked later through grind. At first I was like "Why is there an automate combat option? I want to play the game!" Then that turned into "Why do I have to still click automate each fight? That is too much work." The 2nd Dungeon unlocks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for the first few hours before the repetition starts getting to you. Its really just an android phone game port, so no mouse support and keyboard only game. Unfortunately the classes in the game are pretty bare too so that was a big bummer for me. If you really want to give it a try its probably better to try the android version since its only $8 there.

Is this game a masterpiece? Probably not, but it is an interesting mix of JRPG and shop simulation with a little flavor of visual novel. Nothing is too complicated. You play Volker, a young blacksmith who wants to become the best blacksmith in town. Inside the town, various shops offer their services. You can talk with everyone, buy or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the 22nd review of the Steam Redlight series, a series where I purposely seek out negatively or controversially rated games on Steam to see if they're as bad as the Internet says they are. It's accompanied by a video review that can be found [url=https://youtu.be/i2wXc0WFDLk]here. In summary, I can recommend Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, the core gameplay loop is satisfying and since the game is backed with so many Quality of Life (QoL) enhancements, it draws a good amount of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game, if a bit lacking. Reminds me a lot of mid 00s indie/doujin rpgs, where it's rough around the edges but it knows what it wants to be. That kind of flavor appeals to me personally, so I don't regret my purchase (though it was also on sale which certainly helped), but I imagine that for a lot of people there are plenty of other games that they'd rather play before this. There are some pretty severe bugs and similar issues (nothing that outright prevents you from finishing the game, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →INTRO Like another review said, I feel like this is pretty close to "the game I was looking for." It's a light JRPG with fun party-building mechanics such as sub-classes and party formations, that is streamlined to the extent that it plays like an auto-battler game at times, with the occasional encounter needing more fine-tuned control. There are some mega-simplified Atelier/Recettear-esque systems as well. The game does get a bit repetitive/dull as it goes on, but the progression is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good so far, but the control issues prevent me from wanting to play more. A game like this should have full mouse/keyboard and controller support.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although, this would be a great casual game. However, this is not a $20 game. The game itself is pretty easy to play. Simple actions to do and great for all ages...However: 1) Totally monotonous!!!! You will find yourself doing the same thing over and over. 2) The art changes are miniscule! Later dungeons the enemy changes color and may have a different hat. If the enemy looks the same; then it's the same weakness 3) Almost impossible 100% steam achievement. Once you beat the last guy,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For years I refused to play indie games, if i wanted to play games with low graphics, I would go play on my Super Nintendo. But as I get older, my eyes don't work like they used too, and these Triple A's games are such disappointments, I've learned to appreciate games likes this. Also play on controller, the keyboard and mouse is kinda wack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty simplistic and straight forward. It doesn't require much effort and is easy to complete almost all the missions with just playing normally and a little time spent grinding xp. The cut scenes are pretty short but the art stye is cute. As the game wears on it takes longer and longer to upgrade your shop rank, so expect some day grinding. Other than that, it serves well as as pretty mindless and easy going game. Works good in those few moments when the kids aren't bothering you.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is huuuuge. Every time you think you are done, more stuff pops up. Even after you beat the game, there are several more story quests you have to beat, to get 100%. It's very simple. And the game DOES have a fast forward button (i always complain about games that does not have this), without it, the game would have been unbearable to play. You also mostely auto battle all the fights. Making it very casual. You can really call this, 'grinding - the game'. Because you basically do the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Decent Story but linear. No Romance, No Choices, but you do get to grind a ton for materials to make various equipment. This is very similar to the Hungry god game which i think is newer, have that on Playstation. The dungeons are simple and so on, so if you are after something really deep and with lot of exploration this isnt it, this is a fun grind fest and just that. if you want to grind materials, make gear, use runestones to upgrade the gear, train various classes to make your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's fun. Pros: -The interface is easy to get used to. -Lots of crafting materials and choices -Good game progression and freedom, you don't really feel rushed to do anything. Relaxing game -Monsters scale up nicely, equipment upgrades are also well scaled -Good story (surprisingly) -Well drawn characters Cons: -Gets repetitive after lvl 50ish -Crashes if you run through battles too fast -Fair postgame, but would have been nice to have a secret dungeon All in all it's a fun little game, good…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Decent crafting/shop keeping/turn-based dungeon crawler severely hampered by awkward/incomplete controls. It's a decent shop keeper RPG. Lots of recipes, recipe books to buy or earn through gaining proficiency in, either by crafting weaker versions or using weapons and gear in dungeons. Standard town layout, featuring an adventurer's guild, temple, item shop, arena, tavern, and dungeon entry point. If you've played any fantasy shop-keeper game in the past you'll feel right at home with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really comfy little rpg. Would just put on something in the background to listen to and run a dungeon to gather materials, then upon getting back use said materials to craft things in the Smithy to fill requests & stock the shop. The actual battle system in the dungeon sections wasn't bad either. If you see it on sale its worth picking up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is inspired by many great JRPGs but lacks the extra effort or perhaps development time. Initially the game is very fun, unlocking new classes and crafting new items. However it quickly becomes dull as there's little of anything new to keep the player invested from then out. Adding a bit of randomness or complexity to field monsters, gathering or crafting would have went a very long way here, as well as spacing out class abilities. Aside from that the presentation is great. The music…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat system happend to be very unsatisfying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall gameplay's great. Story is meh, I actually skipped a lot of side quest dialog, and that's coming from someone who usually reads pretty much everything in every game he plays. Battles are really easy, auto battles clear all of your random encounters, boss fights are a bit harder, but still pretty easy. The class system is in general, what keeps me playing. It allows a lot of customization, one main class, one sub class, stats are decided by your main class, while sub class modifies it a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Episode I: The Phantom Grimace This is another Kemco-published game that was originally a Japanese mobile game with ads and an in-game shop that gets sold as a single complete package on PC. I'm giving this game a pass almost entirely for being cheap because I got it in a bundle and it's a budget version of the very specific Gust Atelier-series subgenre I specifically adore. If that's not your highly specific taste, you're probably going to bounce off this one. (And if you haven't played…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its really a shop/crafting game, all the combat is just auto battle and the dungeons are just random crafting mat nodes and respawning enemys.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like everything about this game, my only complaint is that it is very much a "phone game". I would love it if it was expanded upon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can play with only my left hand and my kitten loves it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I asked for refund for the game. There are very little to do. You can only fight once a day and nothing....the auto battle probably killed it for me. If you like repetitive phone games, there is a chance you might enjoy it but you literally can't do much. You go to dungeon that last 5mins, then go to church to recover hp mp, they force you to go to inn and eat for super exp gain and then go back to the shop, make stuff and sell....then repeat over n over again same thing same place. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am rather new this style of game. I am finding this game enjoyable. In a few different moments, I find myself bobbing my head to the music, or when the opportunities present themselves, learn about the characters that I am sharing the story with,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hmm so I bought Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom as my side game so I wouldn't get burned out from the FEFW marathon but... it is even identical to Marenian Tavern Story than I imagined and idk if I'm in the mood for that lol. Guess I'll leave it in my backlog and think of something else...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game play loop very similar to Recettear or Moonlighter but combat is focused on formation and party more of a tactics game. Only the MC has any real story, the "party" members are only really useful in combat but you do have complete control of their classes and abilities. If you want a harem group there is nothing to stop you though it doesn't seem to matter outside of the sprite choice. The only Issue I really have is that you can not main a female,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7.0 out of 10.0. The game isn't bad it's just well not much to do really. The enemies are all the same through out the level as you progress just different color and weakness. The combat is fun and the abilities have some very neat combos but the day to day events do become repeatable and just become boring overall almost to the point you find yourself just advancing the day just to level up to get through it only to start over again. I mean I didn't spend alot of money on the game so i cant…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was searching for a good game with a good mix of character building and item creation. This game had both and was well thought out. Depth of story line and individual characters could have been given a great deal more emphasis than what it was, however overall it was a good play. Look forward to a sequel to this or another one like it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+Feels like someone poured their love into this. +Just turning in requests gives nice cutscene responses by the one that put up the request. +Nice art. +Nice system and ideas. +Can choose your own class/abilities/gear/party. -Repetitive combat, (I usually turn on auto which is fine imo). -The price. (Cost less on phone) -Having to use only keyboard. -Music disappears if you tab out (Comes back next scene/place)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun combination of turn-based party RPG with crafting and simple storefront management. The early gameplay felt a bit repetitive until class options open up and your ability and equipment choices expand, and from there it was more enjoyable as new strategies opened up. The game was developed as a mobile game, and has a lack of mouse support. The keyboard-only gameplay took a bit to get used to, but overall it isn't that big of an issue. Apparently the game is available at a lower price point…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, developed by Rideon,Inc. and published by KEMCO, takes a familiar role-playing framework and reshapes it around a more grounded and cyclical premise. Instead of focusing purely on heroic quests or world-saving stakes, it places the player in the role of a young blacksmith trying to build a livelihood in a desert kingdom, blending dungeon exploration with shop management and crafting progression. This shift in perspective gives the game a distinct identity, even…

unlabelledView post →I know there's a game called Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, where it's basically one of those potion shop games, with a little tactical grid, turn based combat dungeon exploration bit. The smithing is unfortunately menu based, though.

unlabelledView post →They really put the hot muscled femboy (and actual challenging fights where you don't auto) after the ending. I was addicted to this, short as it was. I'd have spent ungodly more hours had there been a part 2 to this story (and other sidequests).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very simple and satisfying game, I immensely enjoyed the grinding it provided. The game has multiple different aspects to deal with (battle, job system, dungeon, crafting & upgrading items, selling) but the process is smooth and easy, making the gameplay quite enjoyable. My personal favorite part is actually the character art. I was pleasantly surprised to find the art done by Makimura Shunsuke, who creates really beautiful FFXIV art. Only major issue I ran into were semi-frequent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first this game looks interesting..but it has many flaws. The biggest one is the time-consuming micromanagement: you get material, must refine them and than you use them in your smithy....only that with every new chapter of the game the list of possible material and items gets longer and longer. You want to equip your party with the best? It will take hours doing so....checking every item and than boost them with runes. Another flaw are the boring fights. After you reach a certain level…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very repetitive and the story is badly written and there glitch when theres a cutscene the characters stay still and i have to skip the cutscene to continue, but i liked the crafting and gathering, combat is mediocre at best
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The whole game is fine as an rpg. My only problem is how janky the controls are.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty average. Everything feels generic and uninspired. Play it if you are in between games. Definitely not worth 20 dollars, wait for a sale. - There's is no option to turn on Vsync; - Achievements are a tedious grind.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have wanted a turn-based RPG with a class system like Final Fantasy Tactics for a while now. This is not an SRPG by any means, but you can see the FFT influence. The game is divided up into days; each day you visit the arena, slay some monsters, craft things in your smith, venture out into the wilderness for raw materials, then finish the day by posting items for sale in your shop similar to Recettear. You can change your class and what god your characters worship, which provides both active…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty good game for Kemco. It's not too difficult at all. In fact, it's downright easy. Pretty fun, but the challenge is not there since you can just keep on selling and selling until its gone. there is no penalty for selling 100 days in a row. Story is ok, definitely not the best. Graphics though, are good. really like the artwork. I'd recommend it because it's worth playing through at least once.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fair note, I have beaten the game 100%, with only "runes discovered" lacking. Overall I strongly recommend the game. It has an addictive and fun crafting loop where you go to dungeons and complete requests to increase your capacity for crafting and exploring dungeons, so you can explore more dangerous dungeons and continue on and on. My party makeup by endgame was a Samurai/Elementalist, a Thief/Explorer, a Priest/Mage, a Dancer/Sage and a Ninja/Tamer I only wish the game had more to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really Righteous & RPG type video game. Thank you !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game! i just wish there was feature that you could mass upgrade equipment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Auto-Translated: The main part of the game is to make items, weapons, armor, etc. yourself. To do this, you go on an adventure with a small troop, collect resources and fight against various opponents. The fights are based on a simple turn-based battle scheme, as are many games of this type. You can develop your own characters in different ways. In addition to the equipment, this includes a divine blessing and each character can later use up to 2 classes at the same time in which you can unlock…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite gather, craft, upgrade, and progress games. Keep coming back to replay from the beginning. Definitely recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm just gonna ignore everything else wrong with the game to mention a fairly hard to miss problem. You kill monsters and you get runes fairly often. Runes can be attached to gear. If it ended at this, it'd be a minor issue of excessive tedium for s t a t s. Gear with runes is not only worth more, it sells better. Meaning you can crank up the markup higher with less penalty, making it worth WAY more and sell more of them faster AND for better rep. With all that said, the major issue with…

If you prefer your RPGs to be more like Skyrim, leave this alone and go play Skyrim again--you know you want to.
