Mutropolis An array of interesting characters, some fiendish but entertaining puzzles and a bright and amusing story means Mutropolis should be up the top of your list for fans of the genre. Easier to read review [url=https://saveorquit.com/2021/03/04/review-mutropolis/] here Mutropolis is genuinely funny and charming. Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43642699-The-Adventure-Library/lists/] The Adventure Library - all about point and click adventures It looks like Application Systems Heidlberg wants to become the new LucasArts. After the really good Unforseen Incidents, Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet and Lamplight City they just released another fantastic point and click adventure with all the markings of a LucasArts classic - Mutropolis. I didn't have the game on my radar, so I was…

Mutropolis is a lovely point & click adventure that stands out through its top-notch graphics, voice acting and humour. It’s a fantastic love letter to the old-school titles of this genre, while keeping things fresh through a unique, modern and gripping story. After a cataclysm that happened 3000 years ago, humanity fled to Mars. Now, in year 5000, a team of archeologists and scientists came back to Earth to find the legendary Mutropolis - a lost city believed to be a source of many treasures,…

This game is in SEVERE need of an autosave feature, at least in between chapters. Also its not possible to override save files, you need to manually delete the save, then save the new one (or create a separate save). This caused me to lose all my progress and jump from almost reaching the end of the game, back to the very beginning If you plan to buy this game, please go ahead, its fun an kept me engaged for a while, just be sure to constantly save like its your final essay and theres an…

It's not that this game is bad, it's cute, nice sense of humor, but the fact that there isn't a built in hint system to kinda of give player a poke in the right direction pretty much means that some players will just end up aimlessly click on everything and figure out the solution without feeling like they earned it. On top of that, after only 2.5 hours I din't feel like I got far or done that much and got lost so many times that I just got bored with this game. In hindsight, I probably…

The story and voice acting are okay. It looks nice, but the puzzles... The puzzles are awful. I wouldn't even call most of them puzzles, it's just brute forcing your way through the game.

The graphics is cute and colorful, and the game does follow the classic point-and-click adventure genre, but the overall story feels a bit superficial and nonsensical at one point. Wished there was a hint system, because some of the puzzles are not very clear as to the objective (especially the part where we play as the robot, that was a NIGHTMARE to figure out without a walkthrough), to the point where you had to guess the answer and just try everything on every object possible. The game tried…

Very well made point & click adventure game with a unique story and lots of puzzles. You are an archaeologist in the distant future. Humanity left earth millenia ago and visits mostly for studying the past. The game starts on an archaeological dig back on earth but your studies are cut short when something unexpected happens. Back on Mars you and your colleagues do everything you can to get back to Earth and find out what happened. Mutropolis does almost everything right. The storyline is…

Art style was really nice, I like the characters too. The story is not bad, but I think the end of the story was funny. It was too long for a point & click and it bored me. The save system is so bad that I didn't enjoy the game much, worrying about clicking in the wrong place and doing a wrong action and not being able to do the achievements. It shouldn't be that hard to put autosave these games and divide by chapters and we can come back again. In the fog part, the game got buggy and I had to…

Irritating & Tedious !!! The graphics are nice and the voice acting is not too bad. BUT ... The dialogue is sooooo verbose. Constant inane comments that come off as failed attempts at humour, they added nothing to the story. I got fed up with the going back and forth for petty actions, it really dragged the story out. Some of the actions just don't make sense so I had to look at a guide. I normally like these types of point & click games but this one just did not appeal.

This was pretty good through Act 2. Kind of tedious overall. Way too much slow moving dialogue that wasn't all that interesting. All the main characters are pretty boring and some of the more minor side characters are pretty annoying. But good puzzles and reasonable flow to the story. Kind of a 3 star effort through Act 2. But towards the end of Act 2 a character is introduced that is so incredibly idiotic and takes the whole, up to that point, sort of realistic sci fi world and story in…

Looks pretty, voice acting is decent. The plot though isn't interesting, the dialogs are boring and the attempts of the game to be funny... To me it felt like watching some program for children. Would maybe recommend it for lower ages but there are other reviews mentioning inappropriate content. I did not see anything regarding that, but I also quit the game after 80 minutes. Just wasn't worth the time.

Mediocre, puzzles are mostly trial and error, or simple but tedious, game assets are all stock, animations are simple. Actually I would not even care about that if the story was good. Obra Dinn was the best game I played the year it came out and it didnt look great. So in this case Id say, the story and gameplay was boring. So I started noticing the rest not being very good either. And then I just now uninstalled it before finishing the last act even.

I loved this game, from the art work to the great story and characters! It's colorful, cute and funny without being too cutesy (was a slight concern of mine when I first saw the screenshots). The voice overs are very well done. Some goals are a bit challenging to figure out, but not unfair. There are manual saves and I experienced no glitches or tech issues. Mutropolis is fine. It's a point and click adventure game. The graphics are acceptable. The music is unobtrusive. The voice acting is good enough for what the actors had to go on. The problem is that the script and the storyline in general doesn't give them much. It seems like a really rich and exciting concept - a distant future where archaeologists dig up what's left of present-day Earth - but the setting is never really explored in a meaningful way. The running joke is that the…

Why are there not more games like this? This is a warm, positive game that still provides excitement and adventure, and stands out against the backdrop of the many dystopian point/click adventure games that clog the Steam store. I live in a country with raging income inequality, a self-serving and ineffectual government, and a steadily decreasing quality of life. Why would I want to be reminded of this during my playtime? I suspect conceptual development of dystopias is cheap and easy --…

I have just finished Mutropolis, and I loved it. Mutropolis is a an extremely funny game, but it's organically funny, and manages to keep you laughing without being over-reliant on jokes or references. I'm not even sure it's intended to be a full-on comedy, but it's a very humorous game. A good game! A fun cast of characters, a memorable art style, and a forgivable amount of 'oh forget this, I'm going to find a walkthrough' type puzzles. They are still present, but if you don't go into a point and click game of this style expecting to be totally confused from time to time I'm not sure you're doing the genre properly. They should have added a proper notebook feature because more often than not, you forget what you were doing and what you were supposed to do. Keeping track of the objectives can become tedious especially during act two. Basically, the game could use an QoL overhaul. Still, it has just enough quality in other aspects to warrant a thumbs up as an point and click adventure game.

This is really excellent. Somewhere between Thimbleweed Park and Jenny LeClue in terms of tone, humor, etc. Great art. Good voice acting. Very funny. Puzzles on the hard side, but always reasonable. Only misstep (and it's a very minor one) is that some of the sound effects in scripted scenes are a bit off (in 2 or 3 scenes the footsteps sound weird). But like I said, that's a very minor fault and it's a great game. Excellent value at $20. Play it if you like point-and-click games at all.

This game is so cute and the world-building is intense. I loved this game's take on history and thought the characters were fun and fairly fleshed out. I really enjoyed the art style and the movements reminded me of old flash games. This is absolutely a point and click worth your time!
